The hotel’s online marketing makes it appear nicer than it actually is.

While the room itself was generally fine, the shower didn’t look very clean, with dark spots on the tiles and door. The walls were also quite thin, so I could hear everything happening in the hallway.

Breakfast was acceptable, though offering a bit more variety would improve the experience.

The staff was friendly overall, but I was concerned that no identification was requested at check-in, and I received conflicting information from different employees on separate nights.

Poor, Dated Rooms At Astronomical Prices

It’s hard to say whether this is good value or not. Over £200’for a night which, Relative to the other rooms in Paris at £350+ a night, I suppose it was. But relative to any other hotel in the world outside Paris it absolutely wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong the bedsheets and surfaces were clean enough. But the shower head was broken and hung down, the hairdryer didn’t work, the mattress was 2 inches thick, the bathroom light was cracked and broken and the whole room was dated and tired.

All I can say is it’s exactly what you’d expect to pay £19 a night for in Blackpool. If you’re not fussy and just want a clean bed for a nights kip, it did a job.

Our overall stay was great!! We were not looking for anything fancy, it satisfied all of our needs. Great spot for what we paid! I will note that the shower pressure was not great and it was difficult to get it on the right hot setting without it burning. We didn’t bring it up to the staff since we were fine! An easy train ride to the city but around 30-45 minutes to get to the touristy spots.

Friendly staff. Uncomfortable beds.

Old building, but clean. Staff was very friendly and efficient. However, the bed was very uncomfortable. Reserved a double bed which was two twins pushed together with mattress pad seams down the middle off the bed. You either have part of your body falling into the gap or the seems of the mattress pad pushing into your side and back. Not great if you need a good nights sleep.

Front desk was really nice! It’s a good place to stay for a day or two. The elevator is very small. I had three suitcases so I had to go up and down twice. It’s walking distance to most amenities but bus stops are near if you need to go further. Walls are thin so you can hear people in the hallway or upstairs…but I’m guessing that’s a France thing.

Just arrived home from a 4 night stay and I can’t fault anything, staff were friendly, room was clean, the shower was amazing, and the bed was very comfy. Perfect for what we paid for, yes the pictures could do with being updated but I don’t think it’s showing anything different to what is actually there. It’s in perfect location with really good access to trams and metro’s.
We was only supposed to be there 3 nights but our flight got cancelled and the lovely lady on reception was more than happy to arrange for us to be able to stay for an extra night and give any advise she could
Would definitely stay here again :)

I dont recomend this property, 1.- i sended an message saying im coming late and i asked for a late check out, but i never got an answer.
2. the bathroom was terrybly dirty, actually i didnt took shower because of that, (i have pictures if you want).
The bed was clean, but the bathroom door it was not posible to close it, so i didnt have any privacy.
The building havent have paint since many years.
Not close of what man see on pictures.

This hostel was in a quiet place near the T3a tram and 2 metro stations one being M13 about 10 mins. walking distance and the other one M6 about 20 mins. walking distance with a bus stop just a block away. The staff was very professional and helpful. It’s not very close to the major attractions in Paris but you can definitely get there easily.

Location is great. Being able to use the dining area and kitchen to make your own meals is fantastic. Staff was helpful and friendly. Don’t expect large rooms or a new building - it is a hostel and the price is very good for Paris.

Bad experience.

It was horrible experience. There was no light in that room. I had to use torch of mobile to navigate. The bathroom is really small, hardly can enter. The flush for the toilet was broken. I am never going to stay there.

Came to the place with my family after reading many positive reviews and seeing the photos published by the hotel.
The hotel common area was indeed as advertised. It was nice and welcoming. Breakfast was nice too.
However, there was no resemblance between the pictures of the rooms and the real thing. we had a quad room. Room was so small 2 people could not stand or sit at the same time. 36 degrees outside and there wasn't even a fan. Sink was clogged, bathroom was smelly and mouldy, and you cannot open the windows due to the bathroom door and the beds. And the place is not even cheap enough to justify,
I've been to many hostels, but this was something else.

Nice hostel with awesome staff.
Room was small but clean and comfortable.
Only minus is kitchen unavailable during breakfast time and few hours later. Not everybody likes to eat jam and croissants for breakfast so would be nice if there would be anothere area to preapare own meals. Just two burner hob what isn’t enough in dinner time

Teeny tiny rooms but all you need

We stayed in a double bed room and the room itself wasn't much bigger than the bed but it was cute and clean and everything you need in a hotel was there. It's also nice to stay in more of a hotel room but still have the amenities of a hostel, like the communal kitchen and a washing machine. Also close to different metro, bus and tram stations to get around the city.

Really liked it.

This hotel is great under the following conditions. I don't believe our room at air conditioning (I didn't see one but I could be wrong). It didn't matter for us due to being there in May. It might be an issue in summer. The elevator is small, large enough for 2-3 people. I didn't care about this either. We had the 4 bed family room. I really liked the room. It was small sure, no TV ok. Small bathroom yep. However you are in Paris!! Who cares if the room is small? It is a cool hotel, great staff, cheap prices. It is clean and sure seemed safe. The neighborhood seems to be 100% French so that is cool. There is an amazing bakery on block away, get something there. It is 5-6 blocks from the metro/tram station. The stations are convenient. You can take a tram to the Versailles RER Line or to the Airport RER line. The Versailles RER line brings you to Notre Dame (cool)! If you are on a tight budget I would recommend this hotel.

Cool place, would definitely stay again

Stayed in a mixed hostel room - was my first hostel experience. The check in took too long, The guy didn't really know what he was doing and took a long time for him to figure things out. I arrived late around midnight and I had to wait for him to process my booking. I liked the customer service though. You have to rent towels from here - misleading but when you rent towels you don't actually get your money back. English is spoken here

Pleasant and Comfortable Stay in Female Hostel!

I had a good time at the hostel female dorm here. It was comfortable, good for budget, and an overall friendly clean environment. I enjoyed the kitchen area downstairs the most. The music, free ability to store food in the fridge, cook and all utensils were free. I would definitely stay here again, it was a very nice and chic hostel/hotel!!

This was actually a nicer experience than I was expecting since it was so relatively inexpensive. The rooms and beds were comfortable, the breakfast was plentiful, and the staff was nice. It wasn't very hard to get to the metro, though I actually walked most places. The neighborhood is pretty quiet and the nearby park was really pleasant to walk around. There were plenty of interesting food options around, though unfortunately I didn't have time to explore them all.

Breakfast isn't included when booking through Expedia, though you do get a 50% discount so it's only 3 euros. I later stayed at another hostel where breakfast was included, but they only gave you two small pieces of not-very-good bread. This hostel seems to bake the bread fresh and it's all very good. It also has a kitchen for people to use, which is a great way to save money so you're not eating out all the time.

Overall I had a really pleasant stay here. Only complaint really is that the bathrooms are rather tiny and cramped.

I don’t understand the 6€ breakfast. If I just waited until after 10, I got everything for free. Friendly staff, nice neighborhood, friendly roommates. The room was incredibly hot thougha- I was laying in my boxers with no blanket and was sweating. Make sure you leave the window open! Beds were also soooo creaky whenever anyone moved.

The hotel was deceiving with the location information , it’s about 40 minutes from the CDG airport verses the 17 minutes or kilometers it states . This is a hostel and not a hotel . Also bring your own wash clothe .

Bathroom was tiny- couldn't sit forward on toilet.
Shower was a dribble and changed temperature every minute. Also door didn't close properly so floor got wet.
Dust and dirt in corners - especially shower.
Room had no ventilation so stunk most mornings.
No where to hang towels (have to pay extra for them) and no individual lights.
3 of 4 PowerPoint in room only worked first two nights of stay.
Reception is 24 hrs. Very helpful staff. (Over priced €6 breakfast available). Kitchen and dining room large and well equipped (altho no bowls for cereal). fridge to store stuff. Wifi works well throughout hostel.
Toilet in reception was sooo much nicer than bedroom one.
Big supermarket 10mins wall down road (where tram stop is too).
Bus to lourve (95) round corner.
Decent restaurants round corners (and great cheap bakery there too. Save money and get two pastries from there for €3/€4 for breakfast)

I was here few years ago, however this is the spot I recommend to all my friends when they flight to Paris, it is like 5-7 mins walking distance from 2 metro stations that connects with any place in Paris. also 2 mins walk from the bus station which is convenient. as far as the location rooms are simple, safe, secure, shared areas are as well really nice and you can make many friends. cheap and nice. will gt back here one day.

Don't bother checking in here - We stayed here for 2 nights and that was enough to put us off. The staff weren't exactly friendly, rooms dirty and a bathroom where you cannot even close the door to sit on the toilet. Absolutely disgusting place.

AWESOME first time hostel stay

The front desk people were SO helpful.

As a first time solo traveler AND first time Hostel user I was very nervous. They were extremely helpful, spoke many languages, and were super friendly.
The hotel itself had great resources available; coffee maker, tvs, couches, breakfast, airport shuttle, friendly roommates, the metro was super close by to get into the town center - I recommend to ANYONE.

The only cons were:
a- neighborhood wasn't the best, but as a single women walking around usually later than I should have been, no one ever bothered me once.
b- WiFi didn't work great in my room for things like Netflix and amazon, but was fine for using Facebook or messenger apps. Everything connected fine in the lobby.

CONS:
However, the restrooms are insanely small and the elevator would make a claustrophobic person go insane lol. Starting with the restroom, I'm a tall male and had to get crafty when using the it. The walls are so close to the toilet that it makes it so uncomfortable and nearly impossible to use the lavatory. Imagine a \"makeshift\" restroom in your hallway closet back at home. For a necessity we westerners take for granted, this was the biggest inconvenience since you're sharing a dorm. The elevator is actually a \"lift\" and only has enough room for one person (2 if you want to get up close and personal with a fellow traveler). Would not recommend if your build is larger than a \"medium\" in U.S. Or else you'll simply be uncomfortable during your stay.

PROS: The staff were great and the room was nice and cozy! The room itself had a nice them and view of the eiffel tower! The main public transportation services were located in walking distance which gave me easy access to all popular attractions in Paris. Breakfast was a traditional French breakfast for I believe 8 euros which was a great bang for my buck and the whole staff were very accommodating. When I woke up sweating in the night, the front desk staff was able to provide me with a portable fan that was a reliever! Opening a window was my first \"go-to\" but a lovely roommate closed it and I didn't want to get into any unnecessary scuffle during my stay. Overall, okay stay for the price!

It was a great place to stay, close to a couple of good restaurants and it was very easy to check in at 8:30 pm. Also it was great that there was a baggage locker where I could leave my suitcase for the day. The room was as expected with 4 bunks and a private bathroom. All was very neat and clean.

Ideal hotel in a good location

This hotel is perfect for groups wanting a cheap but pleaseant stay in the heart of Paris. The communal areas of the hotel are lovely; tastefully decorated (unusual for a hostel), clean and complete with a well equipped communal kitchen. The rooms are less pleasing, extremely basic and a bit dark, but we were able to make ours homely quite easily and it is fine as a place to sleep. Don't expect luxury at this hotel, but do expect friendly staff, good atmosphere and only a short metro trip to the centre of Paris.

Quirky and friendly with an under sized throne.

All of the staff were extra friendly and spoke a variety of languages which added to the comfort of our stay. The kitchen facilities were of a decent standard. Fridges with a sticker system making food identification simple, along with equipment to cook and prepare your own meals to a relatively basic standard.
Bedrooms were of a high quality with a very comfy bed and laminate pattered carpet which we found gave a lot of character. However, the bathroom situation was very small including a toilet that did not allow a correct seating position (legs wouldn't fit). A minor inconvenience on the surface but at the time gave a negative view on the room as a whole compared to the picture advertisements that we were expecting.
Recommend a stay if you don't mind travelling 30-45 minutes into the centre with 2 tram connections and not much to offer in the nearby surrounding areas.

Arty Paris was okay--wouldn't stay here again.

The guy who worked reception at night was very nice. He was able to talk to the taxi driver on the phone and help with directions; furthermore, he was able to provide a fan at night because the hotel does not have air conditioning. The day staff was nice; however, the younger girl was incredible slow. It was very hot during my week in Paris. When I Arrived to the hotel I asked for water and had money on the counter. I don't know if its a culture difference or what, but any person would have seen that I needed water immediately. Instead, the girl cashed me out and printed a receipt (extremely slowly).
The hotel was clean.
Breakfast was okay.
The hostel is a good 1/4 mile from the subway.

7 Nights, hostel, good location, friendly staff.

Check in went well, I got my bottom bunk which I prefer, staff all spoke English & were friendly & helpful. My room was basic but comfortable, it had 4 bunks a 1 desk, 1 chair, 1 en suit shower toilet, wash basin, hairdryer. I was on the 5th floor & could see the Eiffel tower in the distance from the window, hostel had a small lift. The Hostel is about 8 min walk from Plaisance Metro station. Just past Plaisance Metro is a massive Simply Supermarket. I didn't feel any unease in the vicinity of the hostel & walked around happily after midnight. I also walked back from Eiffel tower a couple of times which took me about 35 mins but I'm pretty fit. Best value metro tickets are 10xT-Tickets ‎€14.90=‎€1.49 each, otherwise it's ‎€1.90 individually. Breakfast was basic & consists of Croissants, Bread, jams, honey, Orange Drink, Coffee machine.It would have been ‎€6 but mine was included in my deal which was good for me,one staff member (girl,5ft) at breakfast was lovely & extremely polite & helpful. Breakfast area was pleasant with TV. Kitchen has a large fridge that if there for all to use & pay Laundry facilities. Rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard, well done the cleaner. I had a power point by my bed, top bunk didn't but other points were around the room. There are also 4 small safes for valuables but you need to take your own padlock. My luggage I stored under my bunk on the floor. 7 Nights stay, will definitely go back.

Very comfy and cozy hotel next to a small park

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They are multi-lingual so it really helped me since I speak fluent English and very little French. They also speak other languages. I reserved a private room. I was the only adult in the room so for me it was perfect and I had my own private bathroom. I definitely recommend this hotel. Not too far from Paris attractions but far enough to hear all the noise.

Perfect for the price

The hostel was perfect for the price. The staff were all great and the place was very clean. Unless you love breads (toast and croissants), I didn't think their breakfast was worth paying the 5 or 6 euros. I generally purchased fruit the day before and enjoyed that with my morning coffee. There are small stores and restaurants nearby. The hostel is not very close to the Porte de Vanves metro stop (a 0.3 mile walk in a rather \"desolate\" area). I walked to that metro during the day, but did not return there at night. Instead, if you're worried about walking through a desolate area at night, there is a bus (Bus 95 southbound, also toward Porte de Vanves) you can catch at the Montparnasse Bienvenue metro stop and that bus will drop you off about one block from the hostel. As a single female, I found that very comforting! I rode metros all day and made sure I transferred to the bus stop every night. It was perfect!

Overall it is good except the cleaning issue...

I stayed in a private room for 1 week. The staff at either the reception or for the breakfast is nice and helpful. The location is quiet and the bus stop is nearby but the metrostation is within 10 min walking distance. A Carrofore is nearby that we can get some fruits, yoger and hams to enrich our breakfast that the hostal provided is basic. All in all, I am stisfied with the money spent. There are also some drawbacks. No towel, soap or shampoo was provided. This should be described in the websie. The daily cleaning only emty trash can. I had a very bad experience on the first day after coming back to my room; a messy carpet towel was put on the desk...So, the owner may need pay more attention on cleaning staffs.

A mistake we hoped would go right...but it didn't

I was in rush booking for our visa application, so i thought of booking the cheapest i got that day and cancel afterwards. Unfortunately, I forgot to cancel! Reviews were not that bad anyway, so i was not really that bothered.
The day came.
Receptionist was extremely nice when we arrived (all 3 of them all though our stay honestly).
Room was smelly and despite exhaustion i wasn't able to sleep coz THE PLACE WAS PRETTY NOISY TILL WEE HOURS!!!!! and i was bothered by \"insect bite\"...
No A/C, so despite the outside noise you have no choice but to open the windows...
CR is very small (which is acceptable knowing how precious a space in france is), however, it clogs....so be prepared to stretch your legs to reach boarders to elevate your feet while bathing....
It was a little farther from a tram station (not as was described on line), near a bus station though.

I am quite disappointed as I booked this hostel for my youngest song and paid extra for this trip so he could have a breakfast included...only for him to be told it wasn't included and was left to find a place to eat on a trip and place that was brand new to him.

i stayed at this hotel during euro 2016, it was very nice, i had a private room with my girlfriend, the room was ok size and had a decent shower. also had a big tv on the wall. we had breakfast each morning which consisted of toast, croissant and jam, all fresh from the local bakery, the common area was quite big and has lots of plug sockets on the walls, there is also a big tv which has the sports and also has a dvd player and the reception has films available to watch. there is also some beers on sale in the reception too along with a fooseball table. the hotel was having some refurbishment while we were there so the kitchen was out of order which i assume is normally available to use

All that we could have asked for.

Took my son to Paris for a post-GCSE treat & stayed at the Arty for 4 nights. Friendly welcome by staff on arrival who could not be more helpful & efficient. Throughout our stay they were available with advice and recommendations. Very relaxed atmosphere with travellers from all around the world. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Arty to those looking for a budget stay in Paris.

Good for a hostel but can be noisy.

Basic room and bathroom as expected for a hostel. Very noisy next to the stairs on lower floors and depending on what people are doing it was noisy until 2am on the first night. But no fault of the hostel itself. Breakfast was basic but good. Relatively far away from centre of Paris but transport was easy to use. About 15 Mon walk to the nearest metro station.

Avoid like the plague

English speaking staff sounds like a positive, but extremely unhelpful. Rooms were damp and mouldy smelling. Stayed here during Euro 2016. Had no sleep due to small numbers of drunk fans running up and down the stairs and shouting/singing with no effort from staff to control.

Was told at check in that the price I had received when booking was due to an error on the website, so my room was downgraded and towels were now a paid extra. Very poor customer service and terrible 2 night stay. Will not be returning.

Very nice and simple, though the toilet was not what I would call a toilet. Something a little larger would have been more adequate. Also the television did not work, and was a slight disappointment when in the evenings as the down stairs was always full and unavailable to see the television. Apart from all of these attributes the stay was rather pleasant for the minimal cost.

my daughter and I stayed 2 nights. Friendly & helpful staff. Rooms were basic as expected. The only thing I would change is mold in the shower be cleaned up, but hey, I have mold in the shower at home too. Otherwise great stay in a private room.

Good fit for people on budget

It is a great place to stay if you are alone or with a significant other since the rooms are so small and the bathroom is good for only one person. I rented a room with a twin bunk bed. It is good for people who are on budget and even there is a grocery close by that you can buy food to cook your own meals.

Good free breakfast, great for people on a tight budget. The location is pretty far from the tourist attractions if you want to save money and walk, but only about 10 minutes from the metro. There are plenty of supermarkets and places to eat nearby, and a decent kitchen if you want to make your own food. Pretty good atmosphere in the common room, there are always people around (some places I've been to have seemed pretty dead, so it's really good to have a place to meet other travellers).

Good location, I like the supermarket 2 mins away from the hostel.
The bed was good, I had good sleep.
Good connection of WiFi, even in the bedroom.
They didn't mention but they provided kitchen and fridge too!
Very enjoyable experience staying here!! I like here and definitely will come back again!

Great for solo getaways or with friends!

Pros:
- Well located! Not far from the downtown and close to metro station and supermarket.
- Very helpful and friendly staff. Plus, they spoke English fluently.
- Great place to meet people from different parts of the world.

Cons:
- The rooms are OK, but the bathroom was quiet small. However, this is something common in some parts of Europe.
- Not enough electrical outlets in the room, taking in consideration the number of beds per room.

In conclusion:
I’d recommend to anyone to stay at this hotel, but mainly for group of friends not for families. Especially, because of the bunk beds and its tiny elevator =)

It was a very good surprise book a room with shared bathroom, and when we arrived there were a bathroom inside the room. It was a small but enough room. The location is very good, next to restaurants and metro station ( around 10 minutes walking). The customer service was good and we had breakfast included (delicious croissants).

Nice, safe hostel outside Paris

I traveled alone in Paris, and I never once felt unsafe or threatened at this hostel or in the area (which isn't always easy to find as a woman). The 15th arr. is a very nice area with cafés, parks and public transportation is about a 10 min walk away. It is a bit outside Paris though, so if you want to be close to everything, I wouldn't recommend it, but otherwise the staff is helpful and the rooms are good and I had a great stay!

Only a 20 minute walk to the Gare Montparnasse. Close to grocery shops, patissiers and shops. Safe neighbourhood to walk. Friendly TV lounge to meet other travellers. Good breakfast.

Close to transportation, café, restaurants, park, stores... The staff is very friendly and helpful, and speaks many languages. Also, they have maps and easy printed instructions on how to get to most major attractions and both major airports.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Arty and we couldn't be more pleased! I would highly recommend ARTY to everyone. Easy to get to metro and we had a view if the Eiffle Tower from our window!

Friendly, Clean Hostel

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was someone at the desk 24/7. Even though my friend and I did not book together, they made sure to put us in the same room. There was an issue with overbooking, and we ended up in a better room than expected. Ensuite bathroom and bedroom very clean, fresh towels and sheets for each guest. Lively, social environment downstairs, but you couldn't hear it upstairs, and we were on the first floor. 5 minute walk to the metro (cheap transport to city center). The only thing that could have been improved was that the free breakfast only offered toast, rolls, or croissants. It was nice, but there were no gluten-free options for my friend.

Best budget hotel....

Nice place to stay, if you are looking for bed and breakfast for a very reasonable price, close to the metro which makes it convenient to all the sight seeing destinations. A Nice area with lots of small restaurants and bakeries around.I would definitely recommend it, if you are looking for a budget hotel .

When we arrived to the hostel, we were rudely greeted by a receptionist who told us they were having an overbooking problem and that we needed to leave and come back in an hour. When we returned, it was a different and much nicer receptionist who went out of his way to make sure to put us in the same room; as a result of the overbooking we ended up getting upgraded from a 10 bed mixed dorm to a 4 bed female dorm which was a happy surprise. The beds were comfy but the shower was pretty gross (I would definitely recommend shower shoes). The breakfast in the morning was basic: an assortment of breads and drinks. I'm gluten free so it was pretty disappointing for me but it was easy enough to find something close by. Although the hostel isn't near the major tourist sites, it was a quiet safe neighborhood which ended up being really nice. Overall it was definitely fine for spending a long weekend in Paris and a good value as long as you keep in mind you're not paying for a 5 star hotel, but a hostel.
