I always stay at this hotel as historically I have enjoyed the hotel location and the people working in the hotel are courteous and helpful, what I have noticed this time is particularly the concierge group are sullen and unhelpful, for instance to call a taxi they actually told me to do it myself!! I did because I had a meeting but they had no interest in assisting me which I found really dissapointing

Booked a night for New Year’s Eve and then extended my stay for another night as I needed to stay in Dubai. They however would not grant me the discounted rate had I booked two nights initially. Also the hotel is not worth 500 AED a Nigh, not sure how it got it’s star rating, there is a lack of quality in the hotel finishing, lack of sockets in the room, a dated phone where house keeping doesn’t answer, poor quality beds.
Was not happy with the attitude and service of the manager Jerilyn.

when I make a reservation I told them I want to higher floor and great view but unfortunately they did not give me a higher level and didn't give me not good view as well and the next day I request again and they said okay they're going to give me a high-level but with two single bed my wife was very upset and we did not enjoy it that much 😔😔😔😔

The location is good and convenient. Near the airport and easy to get everywhere. A lot of great restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Nice staffs and the room is clean. Just need to get improved is the hair dryer which is not strong enough. The rest is absolutely great!

One of the WORSE hotel stay in my life. Don't book this hotel. Hotel room I was offered was not the one I have booked. They said its not avaiolable at that moment. However, I booked the hotel months ago and confirmed. The room is too small and smell of smoke. I wanted to non-smoking room and it was not what I got. I wanted to leave the hotel nect day and asked money back, they declined. I felt so bad that I was almost forced to stay in that hotel. :-(

Good Deira hotel

Hotel was good, services and breakfast was great. Little far from the metro but taxi is a good way to move around also. It\"s next to a mosque so no alcohol at the restaurant or minibar. We arrived at 10am and they gave us the rooms and that was a big plus. Walk to Dubai Deira center and gold suk is about 40 min

Place was nice but not what was advertised. I had a 4am flight and tried to order room service while i was getting my things together and they didnt have most of the menu that was advertised as available 24/7. There were some issues with AC and internet but maybe they switched my room and that was fixed.

The restaurant staff was good and friendly. However every day unless I request they didnt provide towels. What’s worse was every time I request at reception, they have to ask the manager and the manager is always out. The worst experience was I found leakage at the bathroom on my departure morning, I requested the manager to check or talk over the phone but not to fix as I am catching flight. And of course, they said the manager won’t come and couldn’t reach, and the superintendents came and occupy the bathroom for 30 minutes when I want to depart, and the receptionist said the problem was now fixed....just unbelievably rude and inconvenient arrangement.

Fantastic stay - worth your money!

Really good hotel with perfect location. Lovely swimming pool and the staff were excellent. The breakfast was boring. It could really be improved. It was the same breakfast items every morning. The room had a great view of the Dubai Creek especially at night with the city lights. The size of the room was excellent.

Good choice. My wife and I spent 6 nights in this hotel. Overall happy with the stay. Affordable but good value for money. Nice and cozy room with everything you need. Bathroom could have been a little larger. Did not turn on the TV but some friends complained about not having many programs and no international programs. I did not care. The only complaint is when i checked in the room was set up for only one person (one robe, one glass, one pair of slippers, etc). I had to call three time to front desk as every time the cleaning boy forgot to bring something. Anyways they solved the problem in no time. Nice coffe restaurant across the street, with very good food and service for cheap money. Nice and cheap shisha too. 24hrs supermarket also across the street.
Hotel breakfast is nice if you stay only few days. Should you stay longer might feel a bit boring though. Pool is small but water is worm and the view is great. Fitness room is also nice.
In conclusion I would return to Samaya with no regrets

The hotel room was smaller compare to other I stayed in dubai at same price the toilet is very tiny difficult to use every thing, the 500 dhs deposit taken by reception means you are a runner or means you may be a thief but they forget that they have all our details no one can run away without paying, none of other hotels in dubai take deposit. The check in process take ages they will tell you the room need to be clean so wait after 10 minutes when ask them again same answer the room is cleaning they just want to push you to wait some more time.
If need some help from room like my tv remote is not working they will say Ok we will send some one but they will not send until you call them 3 or 4 times.
The positive points are that my room was on high floor and have a good view of Greek , cleaning was quick and on time.

the experience wasnt great as the check in late at night took forever to be completed. it wasnt a good first impression, also the reception didnt tell me what are the rules of the hotel and a lot of miscommunication. the perfect thing were the concierge were super helpful and done their job perfectly. I forgot my charger there and still havent got any notification and i called them but no defenite answer!

Staff are amazing but some things need replacing eg the fridge, kettle most of the time didn't work and the worst hairdryer ever. Bring your own hairdryer with you.
Location not so great, far from the glitz and glamour of Dubai although metro station is about 15min walk and takes you all over Dubai.

Very good Hotel. unfortunately I found out the water for showering was not hot. It was warm. I stay at many hotels around the world, doesn't matter hot or cold weather. shower always should have hot water available. sorry guys I had a 17 hours flight and I was looking forward to my hot shower.

Nice area, there are lots of restaurants are available around the hotel. Very handy to the CBD.

Great location - needs some TLC.

I was eventually upgraded to a third room which was a penthouse suite.

The rooms were very large and so was the bathroom. The shower was very small though and with two doors, they opened whilst you were in the shower if you turned around!

Also, the doors met over the edge of the shower tray, so water went on the floor. Weird.

The staff were always trying to be really helpful and the room service was great - the food was delicious.

The worst part was the wifi. Very intermittent and kept dropping out. No signal by the pool and struggled in the room as well.

The whole hotel needs a good clean and some TLC. It looks very worn and tired, especially as I think it's only ten years old.

Always a great place to come back to

I always stay here when conducting business on this side of Dubai Creek. This hotel is quiet, pleasant, clean and well situated, and the staff is always warm and friendly. I saw significant improvements since last year too - lots of upgrades to the lobby and to the rooms. Even the dining space improved.

booked hotel for shopping and beach shuttle

disappointing. roach was in my bathroom twice and saw one crawling out of my luggage. tv channels limited. rooms smelled of smoke even if non smoking room. the décor and layout was not 5 stars. wifi is AWFUL and must keep logging in even in the lobby. food not good, massage not good and both overpriced. tours overpriced. shuttle locations and times inconvenient. that beach is AWFUL and have to pay for it although not mentioned. the Dubai mall or mall of emirates is a better location than city center. only one time for the beach...jumeriah beach is better than that awful beach offered here. shuttle should take to local areas such as the spice and gold souks and deira creek since these things are so close by. should not have to take a taxi or tour when hotel has shuttle. need more hours and frequency for beaches. the customer service and concierge was superb and their attitudes were superb.

During our stay, the hotel was under renovations. The staff was great but the hotel is a lot further away from the Metro Line and tourist spots - if your willing to walk 15-20 mins, then it should not be a issue. With small kids the walking distance is too far.

We booked 3 rooms in our tour, one adult per room.
1st room, average. Fridge didn't work, hot water was not hot, barely just warm.
2nd room, bad. Same problem with the hot water. Worst still, they forgot daily cleaning. Eventually, they brought new towels, nothing else and gave an excuse said the time was too late for cleaning, it was only 7:00 p.m.
3rd room, average. Fortunate that everything worked.
Location wise, in the Middle of no where.

Stayed on room only basis so only ate in coffee shop a couple of times. Plenty of restaurants nearby.
Surprised at being asked for 400 Dirhams deposit when checking into hotel, however this is returned when you check out with the deduction of any room charges and tourist tax.
Very close to airport which is good when you have an early morning flight to catch.

Avoid it, don't even think about booking it.

It took them an hour to check me in they told me please send us your itinerary in the email because we don't receive it from Expedia !! There was a maintenance in the garage the cement was all over the basement that you can inhale it, plus the difficulties I found to exist the parking cause you will find another car parked just in front of your car. The manger is just like a mob hides inside the room till you ask to see him then he will says if you don't like it just cancel your reservation the rudest manager I ever seen.

Very nice modern hotel with all modcon facilities. Had problems with the aircon when I first arrived and within 5 minutes an engineer came to fix it! They also brought a small platter of fruit each day which was a very welcome gesture. Staff very friendly and helpful, hotel in a very nice area, plenty of restaurants nearby, near the Metro and about 10 minutes taxi to the Gold and Spice Souks and the Abras that take you across the creek to the old part of Dubai. Definitely will stay here again on my next visit.

I just needed a quick stay overnight in Dubai and this did the job. Find your own cab though its less expensive...A continuing issue though is that they have a problem of finding peoples rez. I read this on other reviews, and luckily took a picture of my reservation. I dont understand why this is a problem.

I wish this hotel catered more to the guests, and more time efficient. They request top dollar for room service but when they forget items you verbally requested in placing the order. They still take 1 1/2 to bring it to you by that time its cold, ruined and you don't want it anymore.

Rude staff at a 3 star hotel

The hotel staff was the most disappointing of all, especially the tall gentlemen with the glasses. I checked in about 1800 and it was a horrible experience. He tried to make me pay for a prepaid room, he charged me more for my deposit than others, and he preceded to place me in a smoking room when we had just discussed and was written on my confirmation nonsmoking.

I visit dubai often as well as other countries, I have never been treated with so much disrespect. I will never stay at this hotel again, and if asked, will definitely sway others away.

The location was very nice to many of the local attractions. It is about a 5 minute taxi ride to the gold souk area and a 30 minute taxi ride to the marina area. We arrived late at night, around midnight, to be told they didn't have any nonsmoking rooms available with a double bed. I know preferences aren't guaranteed, but it was disappointing. The man at the front desk was very kind and upgraded us to a suite that was nonsmoking and had a double bed. The suite was very nice, but I would have been disappointed had I paid the full price for the suite. The shower leaked and flooded the floor when I took a shower and there were lights not working in the bathroom. It made getting ready in the morning a little difficult. The original room we had booked was inclusive of breakfast. When we went to breakfast the first day, the lady watching the breakfast area told us it wasn't included and charged us for two breakfasts. The breakfast had a nice variety of hot and cold options. The next room was very nice with a nice view of the water. It was very comfortable, but it too had a leaking shower. The checkout process was a bit on the slow side, and they still had forgotten to remove our breakfast charge. It took about 25 minutes to complete the whole check out process. Overall, the hotel was fine and in a nice location that was convenient to local attractions. I would recommend going to the road and flagging a local taxi instead of using the hotel taxi.

The hotel staff were very welcoming particularly Mr Rashid and Raju. We weren't given any information about the hotel facilities upon arrival and even they didn't show us the hotel. We had to go back to staff each time to confirm everything.
I would suggest that they should have enough staff who can show the hotel facilities to new guests. Hotel itself was very clean and room was also very clean and comfortable.

Good location, and great views from upper floors.

Busy Hotel, check-in took 15 -20 minutes. I was served a juice while waiting and then up-graded to a suit. Rooms are furnished nicely, alittle bit crowded but nice. Had a seperate jet tub and a walk-in shower, that was a very nice feature, for those who may not like climbing in and out of a bath tub. I didn't try room service or check out the gym. Internet worked wonderfully. Overall for Dubai this Hotel was a good choice, and I'm glad I tried it.

I just love this hotel's location, quiet and staff, especially those in the breakfast area. It is so easy to reach the creek and the metro, and always near me meetings. I've growb quite fond of making my home here and will return.

A Great Stay in a Good Location

Our stay here was pretty good. The area was a nice walk (about 10 minutes) to the Union Metro area or a short 10 dir taxi ride to the metro. Check in and check out were painless and quick. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and well worth the good deal we found on Hotels.com! Here are some helpful tips to the hotel: please be sure to leave coffee each morning in the room (we only got it two out of three mornings); it would be nice to have 2 glasses in the room since there were 2 guests (we even left a note requesting this to house keeping but a second glass was not given); also please give one washcloth per guest - we had to share one each morning; provide an ice machine somewhere in the hotel for guests. BUT, the room was cleaned each day, the view was great, the staff was wonderful. Overall, a very good stay and we would recommend it!
