I travel frequently and have stayed in many hotels over the years, but I have never experienced anything as bad as this. The hotel has nightclubs inside the building and is filled with loud young partygoers, The noise was unbearable and the windows were paper-thin, making it completely impossible to sleep. We got not sleep at all during our stay.
In addition, the room was dirty and despite repeatedly requesting a room far away from smoking areas, there was a strong smell of smoke throughout the room.
The staff was extremely unhelpful and communication was poor to nonexistent. To make matters worse, even through we arrived at 1:00 PM, our room was not ready until 11:00 PM, which made it completely unacceptable.
Overall, this was deeply disappointing experience, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this hotel.

The location is good, everything else is awfully. The room smells like a sex and cigarette. The bathroom was dirty and smells like loop. You can see molds on the walls and floor. The bathroom sink needed proper cleaning, you can see hair and toothpaste residue. The furnitures are old and out dated.
I couldn't sleep due to the loud noise coming from the rooftop club (I was on the second floor). The club ended at 4 am.

One of the worst hotels that I have stayed in ever. The room was not cleaned properly with food (french fries etc) lying on the carpet. The toilert roll holder in the bathroom was broken, no mat for the bathroom floor, a work desk without any chair, the bathroom door wouldn't close properly unless you pull it really hard from outside. I showed all of this to one of the hotel guys just before checking out. I also gave the feedback to the reception at checkout and the guy there said to report it all online - he was completely indifferent and unapologetic about the state of the rooms.

Great location, big rooms , but little dated
The executive room was massive, 2 rooms , 2 toilets, but the rooms are now a little dated. I had to complain about the internal phone not working, missing towels and missing tea cups. Rachelle at reception sorted them out very promptly. She was a pleasure to deal with , even extended my check out by a little, even though I didn't end up using that extension.

I had to get our key reactivated every time we went back to our room. They need a sign around the pool that says slippery when wet. I slipped and hurt my back and went down to let them know. They did nothing about it and just ignored anything i said. Definitely will not stay there again.

Twice they changed my suite due to air condition not functioning. Bathrooms leaking from ceiling in the first room I was checked in and room was hot with no air condition. Maintenance, called and still could not fix. They never changed my room for two nights. I had to sleep waking up sweating in the middle of night. They switched me third night to a known broken room with no air condition again and bathroom leaking. Almost broke my neck after taking a shower because floor was full of water. Staff at reception were rude and never gave me anything for complimentary or refund after second night. They kept saying hotel is full avoiding to change me to a better room. If you are on vacation it’s the worst place to stay. Hotel is old. I don’t see anything I could compliment on. Restuarant basically has nothing good about it visually or the food. I would never stay this hotel again. Be warned, don’t ruin your holiday and be attracted by the low price only to experience loud noise from the hindi club and Philippine club in the lobby and old, broken HVAC, broken bathrooms that are flooded after bath or showers. They are rated as four star, they must have bribed to get that many stars. I wouldn’t even give them any star.

First of all we have been going there for the past 7 yrs... when it was called Flora Grand...then Lotus Retreat now Howard Johnson. Things have going from bad to worst. Towels was so worn and off white i would not use for my floors. Could not let water out basin had to ask for help. Suppose to have had a king size bed but a dble bed. Reception says thats what you booked thats what you get. First room had a freshly wet painted bath. We were full of paint while trying to shower. Oh hell what a place!!!!

This property is heavily booked and used. The rate per night is average and good for budget travelers. the staff is friendly and respectful. However, the rooms are standard and in need for renovations. We had problems with black mold and roaches in the rooms. Management addressed the issue with a new room but the same conditions were found.

The room was not clean, heavy smoking smell. Bathrooms were not ready with Body wash gel and Soaps. It was empty. The response from Reception was very pathetic. After so much shouting they shifted to a new room. The room has lot of small cockroches.. In the nights it is visible in rooms, toilets everywhere.. like it is a hatchery... No pest control done.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location and easy access to the metro. But other then that hotel service was not so great. We had to change rooms on the second day because our room keys were not working and there were cockroaches in rooms. Unfortunately there were cockroaches in the second room as well, and there was water leakage in the bathroom. Just overall a bad experience at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was good though.

Good stuff: 4 minute walk to metro, 1 minute walk to convenience store, 6 minute walk to mall. Unheated pool (in January), comfortable large room with mini fridge. Maintenance responded quickly to broken water heater switch.
Bad stuff: dull thumping noise from night club and noise in the street most of the night. Granted, it's a big city and a densely populated area.

The rooms are dusty & have mould in the bathrooms...the hotel gets very noisy at night with loud music like a club you cannot sleep.the area is not a good environment at night especially with kids you cannot walk around with kids at night.

Hotel is outdated. There were some tiny cockroach in our room and we ask them to clean our room but still the same. Reason why we always close our luggage coz we don’t want this tiny guys coming home with us. Nice thing about the area is accessible to a lot of things like bus and train, restaurant, and shopping mall.

I have stayed several times here with mixed feelings. This time it was horrible. I got a smoking room and had to kill 2 roaches upon arrival and couldn’t reach the one in the ceiling. I checked out after a day and the management wouldn’t either credit my other night nor even an apology.

Rude, adamant and not service minded are some adjectives for couple of folks at check in. Were a hassle to get through, didnt care about small kids waiting and were just not pleasant experience overall.

Very unsafe place for families with children. My family checked in at 3am because our flight was delayed and when we reached the hotel there were prostitutes waiting outside of the hotel.

1. I came to hotel at night and requested for early checkin and they said you can come around 9 or 10 for early checkin and if there is room available surely they will but around 12 for sure they will offer room however they gave the room late.
2. On first day i slept and woke up late in evening and left the hotel however when i came late i saw few cockroaches which i killed and slept however other day for almost 24 hours i was killing cockroaches and hotel did not take any action.
There was a time when there were tiny cockroaches were next to my bed and then i couldnt sleep and went to reception with my luggage late in night and stayed in lobby for 6 hours.
I wanted to report the matter but the hotel was not responding through room phone so i had to use hotel lobby phone to reach reception.
The hotel sent spray but there were one too many. They keep coming and too tiny that i couldnt sleep

4. I reported the matter to staff and they told me its common. The Hotel Management think themselves above law. They also told me that whenever inspection team comes hotel says they are full and they dont have room so the inspection team never see the issues.

My room was full of roaches, and the air conditioning only blew hot air. I reported this to the staff from day one and they do nothing. Every day they said they had no rooms available and the hotel was full, which is impossible because every day there is check in and check out.

We booked it for 2 days with my wife and 2 kids 3 &1 we requested it a 2 queen beds but was super small only for one person, but thanks to front desk guy forgot his name he really helped us out to git a biger room without any extra charges. Thank you guys i loved everything in this hotel. We highly recommend this. We might stay again

Its not a 4 star hotel not even 2.5 i wss with my wife and 2 kids they gave 2 twin beds for extra bed they were asking 100 more aed , so dirty bathroom faucet was lose moving around, i wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone,

Where do i start one of the rooms i was provided had no tub and the water would flow everywhere and not dry up so falling hazard was bad also the sink piping had a crack so when you would use it water would drain all over ,I asked for a room change which came after a bit of waiting anyways room was provided but the cleanliness was sub par cockroaches and spiders were very present the bathroom sink tap was leaking abit of water asked for a repair and same thing again even though he changed the tap so no use,bathroom tub caulking mold on caulking like I dont think a maintenance team exists at this hotel plus the smoke smell is bad.This hotel needs to be shutdown and get some upgrades only nice thing was the concierge staff were amazing.I would never stay in the hotel again

Housekeeping was slacking. Sheets were not changed they would just make the bed and change the garbage no other cleaning. Used coffee cups were left in the washroom filled with water. Not sure why they wont take it. Wifi wont work well in some areas of the room. housekeeping and guest services number always busy had to keep going to the front desk for anything. Average breakfast and way too expensive.

Bollywood Club which plays music every night. Music can be heard on the 5th floor till the early hours. Rooms are dated. Had to beg for towels / clean glasses / remote control. Booked a Junior Suite and was told after 5 hours of waiting that they were fully booked and they didn't have this available. Offered me a deluxe room at a lower price but would not refund me the difference. They put us in a suite which was dated. Leaking ceiling, very dirty cloth furniture, taps that were not secured, slippery bathroom floor due to drainage systems. Jacuzzi & One lift (out of two) were under maintenance. No umbrellas by the pool. Water cooler by the pool was \"under maintenance\". Very Disappointed and would not stay there again.

It’s a nice hotel to stay. I previously stayed 2 times in this hotel. I also stayed many times when it was called Flora grand hotel. However, in last visit I noticed when I approached the reception area the lady behind the counter cannot find my booking. She would keep me waiting for 20 mins then she told me that she’s got the booking. I have no complaint about the hotel. Room are very nice and clean. 5 mins walk from metro.

I paid for a suite and there was only 1 towel in the room when There was 3 of us staying the room called housekeeping for more towels and the housekeeping number was busy called 15 times over 30 minutes went down to the reception desk asked for more towels they said they would bring no one never showed up. Next day room was not cleaned I told the front desk no one cleaned the room I had left the hotel for 4 hours I came back and the room still wasn’t clean went back to the front desk again and then they finally called housekeeping to clean the room. These are things I should not have to ask to be done. And a suite should not have just 1 towel there should be enough for the total amount of people that can stay in the room when I get a suite at the Marriott the room has 6 sets of towels.

The worst hotel I've ever experienced since we've entered 21st Century!
1. They checked me in to a room that was already occupied by someone else and unnecessary misunderstanding could have been aroused if that someone happened to be in the room, but fortunately, that someone wasn't in the room, but I could see all of his/her belongings in the room
2. Under the current CoViD19 situation ongoing, they are definitely not cleaning the rooms properly. Why? Please refer to the photo attached. This hotel should be hit with a severe penalty by the UAE Gov. as it is not following the strict regulations the Gov. is trying to apply to make UAE safer from CoViD19
Frankly speaking, I don't think they are even cleaning the room properly when the guests ask them to make up the room
3. Aside from the above, they even forgot to place any towels & waters when I get back to the room one day. And it took them 40 mins to get back to me.
The staff are just lack of manners & service mind as none of them has ever used the word \"sorry\" after all of the above during my stay in the hotel for 3 nights.

Hotel name changed
We initially booked this hotel not realizing that the name of the same hotel had been changed. This hotel was originally called the lotus and it was horrible the last time we stayed here. If we would have known before hand, we never would have stayed here again. However, this time it was a lot better. The staff was friendlier and the customer service we received was better than the last time as well.
