Can’t recommend highly enough. The staff are so kind and friendly making you feel like you're staying with family. They went above and beyond, nothing was ever too much trouble and made the stay extra special. The location is so central and easy to walk to everything. The rooftop terrace was my favourite spot, so peaceful with sounds of the birds and church bells, away from the bustle of the city. Don’t miss out on the breakfasts, I think we tried all the options, they were all amazing! The only downside is having to leave!

There was no way to call reception from the room, or from anywhere - very difficult to get in touch with anyone when things are broken or go wrong.

Otherwise, a nice hotel, but for the price similar hotels in the area offer a much better all around service.

It was alright , good location. Heart of palma , close to everything . However very disappointing that water bottles were not provided even though concierge said we would get one complimentary bottle per day . Some days they forgot to give us , when I asked for it , they billed it to the room .

This hotel is like an oasis of calm and tranquility in a bustling and vibrant city. It exudes elegance from the moment you enter the courtyard and the room didn’t disappoint- we stayed in the Royal Suite which has a private terrace with a view of the cathedral and King’s garden, a real gem of a find. The staff are so obliging, especially at breakfast which provides a real personal touch. The spa is a must, we had 2 hours of fun in the pool mixed with real indulgence and relaxation. Don’t want to come home!

Great location for stay

A really old beautiful hotel in old Palma - small number of rooms so not busy and chef cooks breakfast for you - which was very nice. Downside - the room we were in had very little sound proofing so could hear neighbours tv and doors etc so not so good if a light sleeper. But no road noise etc. Nice roof terrace with views of port and cathedral. We could walk to beach and restaurants and shops, museums etc easily.

A gem of a hotel, run by angels

A gem of a boutique hotel in Palma Mallorca, with delicate touches of care and beauty at every corner! The hostess was a fantastic human being, and the rest of the staff too. They cared about the environment, which made us delighted. Breakfast was delicious, and the dining room it was served in, couldn't be more beautiful. A very memorable experience for my wife and I, we have nothing but the best of wishes for them.

Treat yourself like Royalty in your own Palacio!

We had booked before but the room offered was not at all to our liking and they had no alternatives. However they were so nice about it that they arranged us to go to another hotel and gave us a light lunch on their delightful roof terrace whilst the transfer was arranged. So we thought we owed them another try. It was a wonderful experience as the staff could not do enough to ensure we had a comfortable time and the breakfast was amazing with the chef cooking anything you fancied to order in a truly bizarre yellow kitchen! Unfortunately the spa was closed as they had recently had a fire in the basement which was not advised to us by Hotels.com at the time of booking and should have been. If you want a special antique boutique hotel ideally placed in Palma then this is it!

Amazing hotel.
Really helpful concierge. Recommended restaurants and bars which were some of the best I've been to In Palma and Majorca.
Great position very close to everything aswell.
Flexible with parking (very useful for an area with little parking) and check out.
The room was clean and the facilities are brilliant.
Great views over the city.
We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Palma.
Couldnt reccomend it enough..

Living old Palacio life in old Town Palma!

Beautiful and elegant old palace turned into hotel only recently. Big rooms, amazing and helpful service.
Roof top deck is great place to have a drink and just hang out in the lounges.
Staff encourages you to use the kitchen, dining rooms, etc. Make it like your own.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Service was above expectations, lovely staff who were so helpful. Beautiful having breakfast on the terrace with amazing views. Only problems we had were that parking in the hotel difficult - access is from a very narrow lane and through a narrow gateway. Trying to get out we got a huge scratch on our hire car! This was our fault though as the lady on reception did offer to drive the car out for us.

It was very different and had lovely bathroom and very grand styling. It was discreet and not in your face. Public areas such as dining room and grand hall were very grand and tasteful. It felt more like a stately home than a hotel. Little things like the door of room did not stay shut unless locked so we both had to be in room was bit irritating. Reception was very small and staff did not have a very good understanding of English sometimes.

May have been a 5* hotel.......once!

This perfectly situated hotel may well have been 5* once (it won awards in the late 1990's / early 2000's, the Bang & Olufsen phones in the rooms etc were once top quality but now just looked old fashioned & tired) but is in desperate need of some TLC.
The staff are excellent but the rooms, lifts & dining rooms are in real need of an update & have all the little things fixed.
We had to endure the first night in a small dark 'suite' which smelled musty & was in no way worthy of even a decent 4* hotel. On complaining to the Manageress we were given for the next 2 nights of our 3 night stay a much better & proper suite although the Jacuzzi bath didn't function correctly, the heated towel rail was broken & switches on the bathroom wall were loose - really not acceptable for a 4 never mind a 5* hotel.
Overall we enjoyed the trip although would not recommend this hotel unless it was brought up to date & everything worked as it should. Then it may well win more awards.

The hotel was lacking in service such as having to ring for service from a bar and no restaurant. It didn’t help having no air con and having workmen working in the corridor till 9.00 pm outside the room. The only worker worth is salt was the bar man on the evening

Central but not 5 star service

Location could not fault apart from the air conditioning which was faulty. Despite best efforts the room stayed uncomfortable for the whole stay. Breakfast (44 Euro) was disappointing again in very warm conditions but made up for free bike hire. Room cleaning not up to standards, bath not cleaned and once returned to room at 5pm to find still untouched. Compensation got free breakfast last day but only half the order honored, no reason given.

Amazing!!! This place is such a beautiful, unique and cozy property. The staff were so kind and pleasant, making you feel very special. The spa was so cool and the rooftop was amazing. Lovely Winter Break in Palma

It was lovely to stay in this renovated palacio. The service was lovey. We enjoyed afternoon tea in the Monet kitchen everyday and complimentary sherry or whisky. The staff were very attentive. The roof terrace was lovely - great views of the cathedral.

Amazing location, history and character

It's like an art gallery/museum with an extremely stylish roof terrace overlooking the gothic cathedral.

The access is locked and so it is very safe. There are only a few rooms, which makes it feel very exclusive, but also quiet. The staff were very helpful.

Went. With my elderly mother who was mainly in a wheelchair. Staff were very kind and helpful. Location excellent. Bedroom comfy and spacious but bed made up a large double when we arrived although 2 singles requested not sure if this our agents fault or hotels but we were able to change this the following day . Bath a bit old and plug didn't fit well so unable to have a jacuzzi bath . We enjoyed the roof top loungers and splash pool/ shower . Complimentary afternoon tea and cake served. Just a small thing we wished they had changed the cake it was always the same . You had to make your own tea and coffee which was slightly fiddly just think a five star hotel should probably serve this for you ? We tried the breakfast once , it was very good but expensive at 22 euros each especially as my mother doesn't eat much but there are plenty of places nearby for breakfast . The palace has a lot of character and beautiful paintings and all in all a lovely place to stay .

Hotel was fantastic from checkin to checkout. We were welcomed with big smiles and offered champagne, which we desperately needed afyer our travels. The staff was sweet throughtout the whole stay, they were always available to help with anything and everything. The location is perfect and was walking distance from everything. Room was clean and had they had amazing wifi connection which was relieving since our last hotel did not. Whether your looking for a girls trip, business stay, mini vacation etc. this is your best bet in Mallorca!

Lack of service & facilities problems

After arriving and processing paperwork we were told there was no room available for the first of our 3 night stay. We were offered accommodation in an equally nice property for the first night and upgrade to a suite (from double rm) the remaining nights. We asked to have breakfast included. The desk person couldn't confirm that, but would check. They sent us off in taxi to Boutique Hotel Can Cera. This was the best night of our 3 nights in Palma. The service was superior. The hotel beautiful, the room large and classically decorated, same for bath. We asked to stay remaining 2 nights, but they were booked. Meanwhile I received email from Palacio Ca Sa Galesa that they would not cover our breakfast. They would pay for 2 massages. When I tried to book a massage the following day there was limited availability - noon-4pm on a Sat. Prime sightseeing time. Seems like breakfast would have been easier given the disruption of having to stay the first night at a different hotel. Additionally, when checked in we were not shown the lovely central living rooms of the manor home - big reason for choosing hotel. The lift was out to the roof deck one day. The bathtub/shower hot water knob was stuck on 2 times. The phone didn't work to contact front desk about hot water knob. The location is wonderful. The rooftop deck is magnificent.
However, the service leaves so much to be desired. Next time I will definitely stay at Hotel Can Cera.

Loved being in Okd City but close to everything!

Great palace- historical, friendly, quiet & comfortable. We could walk around the town easily and it was just a quick walk from old town to the hustle & bustle of Mallorca. Nothing better than viewing the cathedral lit up at night from the upstairs terrace! The staff were extremely friendly and very, very helpful in planning our excursions and restaurants in town. Loved it, planning in returning!!

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RESERVATION BEFORE STAYING HERE

I had a pre-paid reservation and when I arrived, they politely informed me that they had overbooked and were sending me to an alternative hotel. Unfortunately, I had spent many hours selecting a historic hotel in the historic section of Palma. The hotel they sent me to was in the middle of the commercial district; no where near the historic section. While the staff at the alternative hotel were very gracious, I am going to pursue some type of credit since my hotel costs here was almost $170 (I got a discount booking on Hotels.com; the real price was over $200) and the alternate, according to Hotel.com was $107. Does that sound like a comparable price to you? I will be sending a full complaint to Hotels.com.

Luxury in the heart of old Palma

This is a small, luxurious hotel where you are treated as a valued house guest. The staff are very helpful and friendly and refreshments are provided both on the roof-top terrace with its sun loungers and wonderful views of the cathedral, harbor and bay and in the secluded courtyard with fountain where tea and cake are served in the afternoon.
Didnt try out the indoor pool or spa but both looked good.

Right in the old town with stunning roof terrace. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Complimentary afternoon tea was lovely. Small indoor pool as part of spa service that we were able to use with the children as it was usually empty
The room description on Expedia stated that there was a door between living area and bedroom and this was not the case so that was a slight issue. Room was beautiful though and spacious with jacuzzi bath.

Spent 5 nights here. Only 12 rooms in an old, but nicely converted building. Room on the small side but very comfortable. Staff very friendly & helpful. Small pool in cellar. Spa treatments available, but a bit pricey. Roof terrace with city & sea views. Within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Only a short taxi ride from Palma airport.

Probably the best place in Palma

Great hotel with plenty of original features (I.e. original mirò painting!).
The terrace is just unbelievably beautiful.
The staff will do everything to make you feel home.
Breakfast is more of proper feast rather than a normal meal, only high quality products.
Rooms are beautiful and with all the comforts.

Overall, a perfect vacation!

So close to the cathedral its location is great and in a quiet street. The hotel is of impeccable standard and the hotel staff could do no more for you. Very unique hotel. Lots of art and beautiful spaces. Roof top terrace with sea views was the icing on the cake in the July heat.

Oasis of elegant calm in a beautiful city location

We had a lovely 3 day stay here in February 2015. Despite the weather being disappointing the staff made a real effort to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. Use of the house was encouraged by laying out tea and cake in the beautiful kitchen, fire roaring in the sitting room, discreet classical music playing made a wonderful retreat after sightseeing. The indoor swimming pool complex, although small, provided an intimate space to exercise and relax before heading out for the evening. The Elgar suite was spacious and bathroom excellent. However, close proximity of neighbouring properties was a bit off putting but curtains and nets were on the windows. It just felt less relaxing if you were using the room in the daytime. The outside rooftop terrace with cathedral and Palma bay views was another intimate and peaceful space.
All in all, Palacios ca sa Galesa provided us with an oasis of elegant calm in a beautiful city location.

We didn't like our stay for the following reasons:1. The hotel is all the time locked with key and fences. Even the \"reception\" who is a very small room is always closed with a key. 2. The rooms are very tired and not well entertained: curtains very dirty, shower doors leaking, lack of hot water in the afternoon, no mineral water in the evening and only the bed is prepared for the night (no towels change). 3. To enter the pool in the basement you have to pay X Euros per person, and when we decided to use the sauna we had to wait half an hour for the sauna to warm up... The common spaces although are beautiful . The hotel situation is really nice if you like to be in the old city, but if you have a car it is very complicated. You have to go to the hotel before your formal arrival to get a pass, otherwise you may get a ticket... Breakfast was very diversified with very kind service. The only problem is that every morning the responsible person is coming to your table and ask if you need anything. This is fine if it was done discretely, but it is done at very loud voice and all the tables in the dining room ear it.

Nice Little Gem in Palma

This hotel is very charming. It is like staying in a grand Spanish estate home.

The mattress was hard, but the staff instantly responded by putting a pillow-top cover on the bed, which pleased my wife. They also happily changed the (head) pillows to her satisfaction. The only complaint we had is that the AC had not been turned on for the season; so we just opened the windows for some cooler air. They also asked if we would like a portable AC unit in our room. We declined because it really was not that uncomfortable.

We had a rental car, and it was quite the scene to see the staff jockeying all of the guests' cars around in the small parking area! There were no mishaps, and the staff always got our car out when requested. All of Mallorca is quite car-unfriendly, with narrow roads and a notable absence of parking in many parts of the island. If you do have a rental car, ask the staff for a map of the entrance and exit routes to the hotel, then, I recommend that you WALK these routes beforehand and MEMORIZE them. The street environment around the hotel is narrow, challenging to drive and is filled with experienced locals who are quick with the horn. Many one-way roads are poorly marked. The hotel is in a maze of crazy streets in the old town. We survived and have good memories to go along with all the rental car escapades! Also, when renting a car, get a small car for the small streets and get 100% of the insurance. Mallorca driving is combat driving to say the least!

Excellent city hotel with special character

We found this hotel through Expedia for a February short break. Its location close to the sea and cathedral, in a quiet part of the city, with a rooftop terrace and indoor pool, made it attractive.
The hotel has real character, reflecting the grand history of Palma. The rooms have been restored to a very high quality. Its website shows you round.
The staff were friendly and generous throughout, and helpful in every way. Complimentary extras like afternoon tea with Mallorcan cake helped the place feel just like home.
For getting around the island, the bus and train stations at Placa Espana are less than a mile away on largely pedestrianized streets, so the hotel is a good base for the whole island as well as the city. It is also just 15 min by taxi from the airport to the hotel.

Unique and quirky home from home hotel.

Stylish hotel and exquisite personalised service. Complimentary afternoon tea and cake in the beautiful patio a real treat. Honesty bar a nice feature. The pool, spa, and gym are small but comfortable.

Top class hotel

We have stayed in many many hotels over the years and I would have to say that this is probably the best hotel ever. The staff were absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for them to make sure your stay was as you wanted. They also did everything as if they meant it rather than because \"it was their job\". Its just like staying at somewhere like Downton Abbey, on a smaller scale and it does feel like home.

Its very quite, they have a lovely roof terrace to sit in the sun and their breakfast, although a bit pricey, fantastic and again the staff will get you anything you want to eat.

Will definitely be going back as soon as we can. Well done and thank you to all the staff.

A hotel in the old city of Palma

This is as small town house hotel in a converted old house in a very special location.
The service is the best I have ever experienced , this is special , not the bla bla at other ,so called, top hotels .
This hotel has truly a professional ,experienced and so very skilled staff with a fantastic management ethos.
We arrived bedraggled with our small backpack luggage to such a warm reception for a wonderful visit.
Expect an old Majorcan Townhouse with all its excentricities ,beautiful light and dark places, and it's art.

Beautiful little hidden gem.

Delightful Staff who were wonderful to us, surprising location and most unusual layout. We had a superb stay in this tiny 12 bedroom hotel.
Our room was small and a little dark but it looked out over a beautiful courtyard complete with huge wooden door,which went some way to make up for it.
Very private roof terrace with fantastic views of the Cathedral over the rooftops and chimney pots. No pool but great little water fountain and shower. We drank our complimentary bottle of cava one evening whilst watching the huge cruise liners come and go and stayed there until almost midnight, chilled as the wine!!
Four day breaks in this hotel would be great as it has everything you could need for that type of holiday,definitely not for the ravers but perfect or a central City break. Thanks to the staff for being so lovely. We would recommend to friends and will be staying there again.

Hidden Gem! A must for anyone visiting Palma

Being only 10-15 minutes from the airport, set 200m from the Cathedral this hotel offers everything any discerning guest would want...the warmth of the staff, the ambiance of history and tranquility pervades everything about this small 12 room luxury hotel..
The roof top terrace with splash pool, views of the Cathedral, bay, Palma rooftops was a major plus, the honesty bars(who does that these days!), the themed suites all superb..
No need for any taxi's once you have arrived, it's on foot (or free bikes) everywhere...the best restaurants, the shops, the cafes, the bays, the harbor..all minutes way..yet the hotel gives you peace and calmness...what ore could you want..
A definite hotel to return to...

Fabulous hotel for couples

A really fabulous hotel with excellent staff resulsting in first class friendly service. Only down sides were the food was just ok and the location of the hotel is difficult for taxi drivers to locate. However, I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

The only thing that is 5 star is the location

Ended a 10 day Spain trip at Palma and stayed 2 nights at the Palacio. Let's put it this way, the cons outweighed the pros heavily. My girlfriend and I were looking to relax in a beautiful looking SPA, work out a bit in the gym, get a spa treatment or two and relax in a 5 star room with sea view. We walked in and were greeted by the friendly staff. They gave us a tour. The entrance is majestic, however the remainder of the property is like a very nice home with lots of bedrooms, one being our room. All I want to do is wash up and lay in bed. The rooms are small, old, and dusty. No soap in my soap dispenser, no sheets on my bed (there was a problem that day apparently with the laundry). The gym is the size of a bathroom, the weights cant even fit and sit outside of the gym. The spa you see on expedia is small and doesn't seem sanitary. The room had no sea view. My girlfriend got a mani/pedi after looking in the book and it said mani/pedi - 30-35Euro. They outsourced the job to a third party and she got conned into signing a 100 euro bill with hopes of complaining to the staff and not this random person. We did. The hotel said there was nothing they could do except provide us with breakfast or a bottle of wine. I was pretty furious and thought it was completely unprofessional and deceiving. Other than that, the property is historic seeming and nice enough and located next to the cathedral and the staff concierge was great and booked us dinners and a bike tour.

Beautiful charming hotel

Beautiful hotel in the middle of the old town. The photos do not do the hotel justice. The staff were charming and welcoming and we had a wonderful time. There is no outdoor pool on the terrace, but a lovely refreshing shower to cool off and anyway the beach is only a few minutes walk away.

Good location hotel

The hotel was in a perfect place - near the seafront but in a very secluded road - the taxi driver couldn't find it! Very quiet at night and in the day. The bedroom was rather cluttered with \"things\" and the 2 of us kept getting in each other's way. There was a minute shelf to put things on by the bed - a book, a cup of tea was too much! The bathroom was very nice although on the first day, the spa in the bath didn't work and the toilet wouldn't flush although they sorted it out very quickly. The TV was a nightmare - the instructions were completely wrong and even after the manager had showed us how to tune in, we failed dismally. Still, we were on holiday and shouldn't have been watching TV! The terrace was lovely. They offered to run a bath for us if we'd wanted but we declined! Overall, good but I don't think we'd stay there again . The location was definitely the best point.

A real Palace in a great location

The Palacio is a real Palace in every sense. Fine art, five star accommodation, and even better service which is delivered in a discrete fashion that makes you feel very special. It's a real gem of a place and the location could not be better for the historic quarter with all its unique bars and eateries. We'll definitely visit Palma again, and certainly won't look further than this hotel when booking.

Wonderful Experience in Mallorca

Amazing hotel. The staff, from the front desk to the other crew around the hotel, were amazing and did everything to make your stay more enjoyable. They helped us rent a vehicle, told us where everything was, and made us feel like royalty.

Definitely the best hotel on my trip to Spain.

Lovely staff, close to everything

A lovely hotel hidden away in the the old part of the city. We stayed for five nights at the end of a cold and rainy February, which is a bit early in the year to take advantage of the roof terrace and the garden, which looked lovely. I thought the rooms, although spacious, had a bit too much dark wood and felt a bit old fashioned and could do with a revamp. The sofa was too uncomfortable to sit in, so we sat in the armchairs in the bedroom. We did not have breakfast, in the hotel, as we felt it should have been included in the price.So we cannot comment on the quality. What is this new trend of charging an extra quarter of a nights stay for a breakfast, We usually only stay in hotels that include breakfast in the price. All that said, the staff were extremely helpful, friendly, warm and made up for any deficiencies.

BEST PLACE IN MALLORCA

Brilliant staff- was travelling with my wife and 2 kids- arrived late night and the staff were very efficient and polite- they took our luggage to the room and were very considerate that they had kept some complimentary sandwiches for us as it would be too late for us to go out. A brilliant staff, answered all our queries- nice jacuzzi inside our room, brilliant terrace to relax. I feel the stay at this hotel was the best thing we had in our trip to Mallorca.
