Staff were lovely and always very welcoming and friendly but the room was not very nice at all. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the road noise into the room made it very difficult to sleep. The carpets in the room felt very aged which were quite stained as well as the ironing board being dirty which made me hesitant to use it.

Overall a really poor experience that I gave the team at the hotel a chance to respond directly but as that was pretty unsatisfactory - Iit should be shared here as potential guests should know.
Good stuff: Low price, great staff.
Bad stuff: Really dirty room, with someone elses dark black hairs all over the bath and bathroom and clearly had not been cleaned.
Conditioner dispenser was broken and just refilled and clearly not checked.
Rubbish left in the corridors and strwn around the lifts and not spotted or picked up.
General poor smell around the 3rd floor.
Room AC had two settings - off or COLD. No controls would work.
The general upkeep of the rooms is poor, but I can live with that for a value prices hotel - but the lack of cleanliness isnt acceptible.

The hotel was what was expected for the cost, staff we dealt with were excellent, facilities basic but adequate, there is parking i wouldn't say enough for the whole hotel i basically got the last spot and arrived around 16:00. there are local car parks to the hotel so shouldn't be a problem
location is great for accessing the city centre we didn't have breakfast and was very surprised that a hotel bar for residents closes at 11pm.
The shower had a slight drip on it but with the door shut you couldn't hear it in the night, there was literally 10 sheets left on the toilet roll so had to use sparingly we should have mentioned it to reception but forgot when we were down there. Apart from the little niggles i would recommend it
Our biggest problem wasn't a hotel fault it was a guest fault, the room next to ours 429 i think had a massive row for about an hour and half around 03:30 banging shouting, at one point something hit our wall and our bed shook, I'd be very surprised if there's no damage in there. I slept through most of it but my partner never got a wink of sleep through it even with ear plugs in she could every word said
as it wasn't the hotels fault we didn't mention it at reception although that was because we had express check out and didn't have to speak to reception.

Threadbare carpet in room and beside a very noisy main road so very noisy not much sleep even with ear plugs.

We stayed for 2 nights and key card ran out after 1st day staff never mentioned this so got up to room and couldn't get in room had to go back down to reception this could of been avoided. Room ok but no sleep due to main road noises so wouldn't stay again

We have stayed at this hotel several times. Nothing disappoints from the excellent service received
Just wish we knew executive rooms don’t have walk-in showers.
Just recovering from a second knee replacement so will have to make sure rooms have a walk in shower.
Loo hopefully won’t be too low on our next visit.

First time here, and a single traveller for one night. Straight forward drive in from the north and parking at the hotel was, as mentioned in the hotel information, limited. The staff were helpful and dealt quickly with my check in and out. The room was clean, and had just what is needed. My room on the fifth floor gave a good view of the city. It’s close to the main shopping area and attractions, so a quick walk in. I would use this hotel again if visiting Derby.

From the moment I arrived, everything just felt right – comfortable rooms, a welcoming atmosphere, and a great location right in the heart of the city. It was the perfect base to relax and unwind after a busy day.
Lonely Traveler Productions thought it was absolutely brilliant – a truly marvellous place to stay and one we’d happily recommend to anyone visiting Derby. Comfortable, convenient, and excellent value, it really ticks all the boxes ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had a really enjoyable stay at the Leonardo Hotel and was genuinely impressed from start to finish. The hotel is modern, clean, and very well maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door.
The room was comfortable and quiet, with a good-quality bed that made it easy to get a proper night’s sleep. Everything was spotless, and the facilities were exactly what I needed for a relaxed and stress-free stay. The bathroom was clean and well laid out, with good water pressure and plenty of towels.
The staff deserve a special mention – friendly, professional, and always happy to help. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient, which I really appreciated.
This stay was part of a working trip for Lonely Traveler Productions, a media company, and the hotel provided an ideal base. The calm environment, reliable facilities, and professional service made it easy to relax after a busy day and stay focused on work.
Overall, the Leonardo Hotel offered excellent value for money, comfort, and service. I would happily stay here again and would highly recommend it for both leisure and business travellers.

Our room was not ready when we arrived due to an error on the hotels booking schedule. We were given the standard room and we had to inform the reception staff of tthe error after being sent to the wrong room. The reception staff were very helpful and offered us complimentary hot drinks whilst we wiaited for 30 minutes to be allocated our correct booked executive room. Our room when we arrived was in excellent condition and the amenities were first class. Our bed was comfortable and we slept well. We will definitely return to this hotel.

The room didnt look like it was an executive room. There was no water and no fridge and there were bits left in the bath which I cleaned away.
Some of the gym equipment was broken.
One positive was that the staff were very friendly.

The hotel was lovely and clean. However on arrival our executive room booked hadn't gone through to the hotel and we were given a basic disabled room. We had to go back to reception and show our booking confirmation. Although the executive room was better, the room itself was very small. The king size bed took up most of the room. The so called mini fridge contained two cans of pepsi and a kit kat! Breakfast was nice and very well cared for by staff.

Me and my friend had a overnight stay ,we had a family room with a king-size and sofa bed ,there were no sheets or duvet for the sofa bed ,so walked down to reception to inform them on 2 separate occasions, the receptionist said on both occasions that they would get room service to sort it . So we came back on a good night out ,to the room and still no sheets or duvet. It was too late to complain so I left it ,and had to borrow a sheet from my friends bed . I was not to happy . The only thing in there favour was that the hotel was very busy that night .

The hotel requires urgent refurbishment or deep cleaning of carpeted areas, which currently detracts from guest comfort. Reception staff were unhelpful and insisted on full payment of the entire booking plus extras at check-in, rather than just the additional charges, which felt unprofessional. Overall, the experience did not meet the standard expected from shouldn't dvdb comparable hotels like Premier Inn.

Extremely poor stay, didn’t acknowledge request to upgrade room. Kettle didn’t work in the room, they then brought a replacement that also didn’t work, then brought one without a stand (didn’t fit the others) finally we did get a working kettle. Housekeeping then came in 3 times after we told them we didn’t need them and then she argued that we should have checked out when we were booked for 3 nights and this was day 2, had to prove to her the booking and no apology. Then the key cards didn’t work so had to go back all the way to reception to get them re-done. Complained and didn’t get an apology or any good will gesture offer. Frankly should have stayed at a travelodge or a cheaper hotel for a third of the price.
Room wasn’t great either with the worst yellow lighting and the tv also had aerial issues on some channels.

Upon arrival, the first impression of the hotel was unfortunately unpleasant, as the exterior carried a strong sewage-like odor. Stepping inside did not improve matters—the air was stale, and the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. The entire property appears outdated and in urgent need of refurbishment, as it seems to have once been a fine establishment but has since fallen far behind modern standards.

Accessibility is also a concern; there is no direct access from the car park to the lobby, requiring guests to walk outside and around the building to enter, which is both inconvenient and impractical. The facilities are worn, the décor tired, and the environment generally lacks the freshness and upkeep expected from a hotel of this category.

Adding to the discomfort, the air conditioning system repeatedly switched off, making the stay even more challenging. Overall, the hotel does not provide the comfort, cleanliness, or convenience one would reasonably expect, and it is evident that significant investment in refurbishment and maintenance is long overdue.

Good value for money. Tired furnishings and devor, and some dirty mugs around communal areas but overall ok. Near main road so can hear traffic but great location for city centre. Relaxing stay and good checkout time of 11am. Biscuits with tea and coffee facilities would be good as shown on room photos. Iron and board in each room very handy. Light and airy rooms.

Blue badge parking, disapointing, only 2 places, then there is no lift from the car park, which is directly beneath reception. In stead, you have to walk outside, up and around to enter. Ok when it is dry.
