Three sharing a room! Beds were spacious, clean and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff! They brought us extra towels, lots of bath stuff, two fans as the room was hot. I would highly recommend. The breakfast was hot and varied and fresh but across the road at the bigger hotel. My sister was offered gluten free porridge and bread. Very impressed! Just a 3 minute walk to our Christmas party. :)

The hotel is very close to the railway station which was ideal. A bit of a hike to the centre, but not an issue for most people. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was fairly plain and the decor was marked in places, but clean. Good facilities including hairdryer and ironing board/iron and kettle. Comfortable bed and quiet during the night.

Hallmark inn is just what you'd need for a short stay in Derby. Excellent location near the train station, and the main shopping area is just 10 minutes walk. I didn't mind going to the its other branch Hallmark Hotel just across the street for breakfast; which was good. The check in and check out was quite fast and the 24 hr receptionist helped with booking a taxi really fast to catch our bus. The only thing is that we asked for (meat free) breakfast boxes because we were leaving early last day; they were happily provided but were very basic and we got two instead of three but we didn't have time to clarify as we were in a hurry. All in all, I was satisfied with my brief stay there. Thank you.

The hotel seemed a bit tired . We stayed here about 4 years ago when on a visit to Derby, and it seemed a lot brighter. The were black marks on the walls of the bedroom. And also we were charged £8 per night for parking the car. Usually if you were staying in a hotel the parking would be free. It was grand and near the INTU shopping centre a couple

Also, because this was both weekday and weekend nights, Expedia booked this as two separate bookings, meaning the hotel had two bookings with apparently no link between them. Thus, on the Friday night the room key card did not work and had to be reauthorised, not acceptable.

The hotel itself was reasonable for the price we paid. There was no air conditioning in the rooms which meant it was a bit hot and stuffy. Other than that the room was clean and comfortable.
It looked like the hotel was being used as a half way house though as there were lots of adults and children using the lounge/kitchen area and children playing in the corridors and laying on sofas around the hallways.

A good easy going athmosphere, breakfast was excellent value for money, there was no trouble coming and going to my room. There was no interference from staff, the athmosphere was pleasant, there was nothing I noticed that I could complain about. I felt good there and the city environment was good too. I would definitely use the Hallmark hotel again when visiting Derby which I plan to in the near future.

I have been to this hotel lots of times this time i was very unhappy the cleaning was poor broken window and we had to go to the sister hotel across the street in the rain to have breakfast i must say the 3 ladys servicing were lovely very helpful 1 day no breakfast as oven broken but the manager was very rude the hotel was like a hostel people run up and down hall 1PM and 3 AM

On-site parking, our parking fee was waived when we registered the car, but I don't think that's common practice. Italian restaurant next door that does takeaways (very nice pizza). Our room (at the back of the hotel) was clean and had everything for a night's sleep, like a bed. The shower was fine too, although I prefer a screen rather than a curtain. Breakfast was in sister hotel next to the train station (2 min. walk). They couldn't quite keep up with the appetite of the guests. I had to wait 15 mins for a croissant, but when I finally got it, it wasn't fully baked. Nice coffee though and the cooked breakfast was ok.

The propert was excellent value for money. The provision of tea, coffee, hair dryer, iron and ironing board was brilliant. The place was spotless and the bed was comfortable. What more can you want from a budget hotel? The only problem I had was that the window catch in my room was broken, it was open when I arrived, but once I had forced it closed, it would not open again. I am sure this is something that will be fixed,.

Was annoyed having a£8 car-parking charged for overnight stay when it wasn't disclosed during booking. I think this is typical industry practice and should be stamped out. Within minutes of entering the hotel expecting to start off with a positive relationship it feels like being mugged..

It was a bit strange having to cross the road to the sister Hallmark Derby Midland Hotel for breakfast. It was okay on a warm sunny morning (and the breakfast was good) but I wouldn't fancy it on a wet winter's morning.
It was a bit strange having to cross the road to the sister Hallmark Derby Midland Hotel for breakfast. It was okay on a warm sunny morning (and the breakfast was good) but I wouldn't fancy it on a wet winter's morning.

Basic accommodation no real facilities ie bar/ restaurant within hotel/inn, had to go to sister hotel across the road for that. It was a bed with bathroom. The area did not have a great deal near the Hallmark Inn the bars and restaurants that were nearby do close reasonably early. We were there for World Superbikes at Donington therefore we would be back after racing finish thus not allowing enough time for getting back, washed and changed to go out for something to eat before places started to close.

Good size rooms with all facilities and a nice clean bath with hand showers. Another great stay at The Hallmark. Check in was fast & friendly. The only downside to our stay was having to pay £8 each night for parking! Our room was spotless.....couldn’t have been cleaner! Yes, room could have done with a refresh on decor here & there but nothing dreadful. Everything you needed was in the room. Pleasant walk in the sunshine over to the Midland in the morning. Greeted by the lovely Maggie who seated us for breakfast in the dining room. A really good choice of breakfast items. Great cooked brekkie. We’ll be back!!

Staff were friendly and tried to be accommodating, but there were quiye a few negatives; plug sockets either didn’t work or wouldn’t fit because of the positioning of the fitted desk, so reception gave us an adapter. The phone didn’t work. The room was unbearably hot as there was no air conditioning so reception gave us fans. It was that hot and uncomfortable that our four year old was up being sick most of the night.
Other than that the beds were comfy and the location of the hotel is ideally in the centre, with a car park that’s slightly cheapter for people staying at the hotel

On arrival I met with colleagues at the bar, to be informed they had no lager at all and we would have to go over the road to sister hotel to get a drink. We all trudged across the road, in the rain. They did have beer, of course we could not charge to our room as they were a different hotel!
When we went to our rooms, at 3am people were running up and down corridor shouting and laughing very loudly, we all called down to reception to complain. It took them 20 minutes to come up to the floor to sort out!!!
