Doug
Room was neat but the bath was uncleanly and the shower tiles broken at the sliding door. Hallways were awfully lit with very blue white LED bulbs. Outdoors the grass had not been mowed and at least one set of the parking lot lights did not work (and based on the location that is not a good thing). Lobby/breakfast area very uninviting. We arrived at 2:50 and our room wasn't ready until 4 pm. We stayed in the lobby and there were other guests waiting for their rooms. Apparently, they were short on staff. We also selected a king bed and the room had 2. Other than that, the desk staff was very nice and accommodating. It was a good area with walkable restaurants.

Was very disappointed. We had booked over a month in advance, asked for 3rd floor room, was told at arrival at 3 PM none were available. We had shared that we were HH members, and we were told that since we booked via 3rd party no HH “benefits” would apply. The check in guy was not understanding or helpful. Also, the pool and exercise facility were closed because of renovations…. which was hard because our kiddos were looking forward to swimming after long drive. The lobby was so cluttered with remodeling and old furniture, you could not easily access the coffee area…. we travel a lot and this is nothing we have ever experienced at a Hampton Inn…. will likely never stay there again.

The reason I rate it four stars is because it states that it has a soft bed, this wasn’t the case. What started out as a good stay turned horrible. At 2am on our last night of our stay I awoke to see something climbing on the wall. Upon further inspection I saw it was a roach of some kind. I was unable to go back to sleep, due to fear of more bugs crawling on to us and in our things. I killed it and left it in a napkin in the bathroom sink. Upon checking out I explained our concern to the desk clerk who said that something like

He asked us to come back as soon as possible cause he needed us out of that room so he could rent it to someone else. When we got back , we were told the room wasn't ready! The room was soon ready. It was OK except slow drain from tub.

We always stay at the Collinsville Hampton when visiting St Louis area with family. The area is safe and the hospitality is the best. You won’t find nicer people! There is a lot of food places and stores nearby. The steak house across the street is great as well. Pool and room was clean. Chasity on the evening shift is a true gem and made us feel at home!
