We booked 5 nights at this hotel the first night the door for our room was coming out of the door frame and the lock and door handle was broken so we switched rooms, the second room. We woke up to bedbugs crawling all over our bed so I had to switch rooms again.
The staff was really nice, but they also kind of gave the attitude that they didn’t care the free breakfast in the morning is an added bonus. The location is prime. The rooms are old and outdated and needed a renovation

I tried to make reservation at their restaurant. The restaurant staff did not understand English or the word reservation. Told me to come to the restaurant at 8pm and unexpectedly told me I had to make a reservation and it is fully booked. My daughter, husband and I had to source other foods during New Year's Eve and the only place close is the walk-in ACAI dessert bar and this is our dinner.

Hotel is neglected, no personnel cleaning the public areas.. Pool area was full of garbage from the night of New years (I left on January 3rd, so the garbage was there for 2 entire days). Not even the pool was clean, water dirty and cloudy; again no staff attending this issue. New years is big in Rio ad for that reason hotel should be at it’s highest standard. At least clean.

Out of the five days we stayed, we only had one warm shower (on the first day). We informed the staff and were told someone would come to fix it, but no one ever did.

The room was poorly maintained. The bed covers had holes, and housekeeping did little more than make the bed — the room and bathroom were not properly cleaned.

To make things worse, at check-out, the hotel charged us for items we never consumed. We paid simply to avoid wasting more time arguing with unhelpful staff.

Overall, this place lacks basic maintenance, cleanliness, and honesty. Avoid if you value comfort or professionalism.

The hotel looks much nicer in the photos than in person. The staff was not friendly, and the facilities feel old; several outlets didn’t work, and the room was dirty when we arrived. The shower doesn’t provide truly hot or truly cold water—just “lukewarm.”
On the positive side, the breakfast was good and quite varied.
Overall, the experience was just ok.

No blankets in the room, no iron, no hairdryer…

Not even shower soap.

The room didn’t have a view and it wasn't mention on the reservation. We were facing AC machines.

My mom arrived to see my kids, but they didn’t allow her into the bedroom or on the rooftop so we could open the presents, etc.
We needed to stay in the lobby amehile the kids were open the presents.

There was a construction happening on the hotel rooftop, which was very loud, starting at 9am sharp.

No warning was given about that, not when we booked, not when we called the hotel to confirm our check-in time, and not even when we checked in at the reception.

Staff was kind and polite.

Breakfast was good but again, small saloon and crowded.

Location is good and that's it.

Easily one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. Old, dirty, stains and holes in sheets, smells, bugs, some of the staff was rude, put us in a room up a flight of stairs with no elevator access. Could easily list at least 5 more things wrong with this hotel. Fortunately we only booked this to hold us over from checking out at the hotel we stayed in for the week and our 11pm flight. If I was truly intending to stay overnight I would’ve just ate the cost and booked another room. If you’re thinking about booking JUST DONT DO IT!!!!

After reading several reviews here, and knowing this property is at Av. Atlantica, or literally across the street from Copacabana Beach, I was really excited. Unfortunately m expectations fell really short as I arrived at the lobby. The hotel is dated and the staff could have been a bit more friendlier on check-in. They asked us to fill one form for each guest, gave us 2 keys and briefly told us about the WiFi password and breakfast time. As we arrived at our floor and later entered our room, we were definitely not impressed - and we were given an ocean view unit. Don't take me wrong - it wasn't terrible. We could see Copacabana beach from our window and that was great, but I wouldn't give this hotel more than 3 stars. The room looked clean and was organized, but the walls were dirty and stained. The bathroom also had stains that look moldy at the top of the shower and in multiple other corners. Also, after we turned the shower lights off, it would continue blinking all night long. They put us on the 1st floor and it was really noisy. WiFi was slow and would sometimes disconnect, but was usable. Breakfast was included and food at the restaurant was OK. Again, not great. The juices were very watered, for instance. To summarize, if you go there expecting a 3-star hotel, you will be fine. But if you go like us expecting an \"Excellent\" hotel as rated here, you will end up disappointed.

I hate to say bad things but this Hotel is horrible. The beds looked like they were 10 years old. The wall outlet had wires showing. The closet door didn’t move.
Elevator to 7th floor button broken in 1 elevator. Maid knocks at 8am and won’t come back later. TV had no channels clear picture and not Smart. Breakfast Buffet was great. Pool on roof no towels and very small. They tried to charge me twice for taxes. I showed them tax was paid already in hotels.com it was not cheap either but well located.

Its a shame a nice right across of copacabana beach hotel is not well kept… its a beautiful property that is not well maintained. Hotel common areas, and rooms were not cleaned and stuff broken ex: elevator rails. Staff not the most friendly except the bell boys, night shift always on the phone, poor customer service! No blankets in rooms etc.

O quarto estava infestado de mofo por todo o lado, o cheiro estava pésimo, o teto do banheiro tinha bolor para todo lado. Além disso, o box do banheiro estava inundando e precisei descer até a recepção para que alguém fosse desentupir.

O funcionário chamado Moacir que ajudava com as malas, foi extremamente grosso, pois enquanto eu estava pedindo para pegar as minhas malas, ele estava na rua conversando com os hóspedes que já haviam saído do hotel. Isso porque eu já estava com o meu táxi aguardando do lado de fora. Ele mandou eu aguardar e gritou bom dia de uma forma grotesca isso vindo da calçada. Extremamente fútil.

First time in Rio.

Very convenient and affordable property! Right on Copacabana Beach! My room was decent probably because it was one of the rooms with a balcony facing the beach and cost a little more. However, I noticed that some of the rooms and hotel in general could use a little renovation to stay competitive and get positive feedback and reviews. Overall my stay was very pleasant! The location is unbeatable when comes to the beach and getting around Rio by Uber to the Main attractions. The breakfast was good with a variety of buffet options. The front desk and concierge were very helpful particularly Jorge on the night shift. I would definitely stay again, but only in the more expensive rooms.

A TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND A HORRIBLE CHECKIN

The check-in experience was HORRIBLE. Traveled all over the world, arrived at checkin at 12:30 to fill out paperwork and drop my bag as a I had to be at hospital where my dad is at ICU at 13:30. I was told to come back to do paperwork at 2pm. After explaining the situation, I was finally handed paperwork and told they would charge me R$10 per bag to store them for one hour (this is a ridiculous policy, every hotel allows you to fill paperwork and keep your bags for free until you get your room).

Keep your expectations in check for this one. Very outdated hotel in need of a lot of improvements. Bed sheets were thread bare and worn, the towels were dingy, the a/c unit dripped water constantly, but it did work. Surprisingly, the beds were more comfortable than I thought they would be. The bell hop was super helpful and friendly and our room was clean despite the lackluster appearance. The view of Copacabana Beach was decent from our window, but outside noise made it difficult to rest.

Nice hotel in a great location.

This is a nice hotel right across from the beach. The staff was wonderful, and the breakfast was really good. An ATM in the lobby makes getting local money easy. I had a sea view room with a balcony which was great for sunset viewing. It is a bit noisy, there’s an open atrium from the roof to the lobby so voices echo but it may have been because I was right below the pool. Also the balcony door didn’t lock.

It was the worst experience of my stay. The hotel is very dated with paint chipping off windows, and wood chipping off cabinets. Windows do not filter any noises, they are all stained and dingy.
The bed sheets were very old and dirty. We couldn't sleep at all with the noise from the street and very itchy sheets. Manager Gabriela was not helpful at all in helping with refund and even though the hotels.com team tried to reach the staff-they were not responding with a refund request after my terrible 1-night stay. The location is great on the beach but everything else about this hotel is terrible.

The hotel has very poor facilities. The reception staff can not understand english. Upon checking in we had a very difficult time. The bedsheets were spread only on one half of the bed. On informing reception, they kept repeating that all rooms are the same. There is no kettle to heat water and no provision to make tea or coffee. No shower gel. Very basic amenities. Practically the bare room without adequate blankets. Only one blanket for two double beds. Take it just for the views of Copacabana beach. Keep NO other expectations

We booked this hotel on our last day in Rio for one night. This hotel was located walking distance across from the Copacabana beach. It had a mildly clean room but outdated. They had a very simple and not a very appetizing free breakfast as it looked like the food was old. A very poor rooftop pool, more like a bathtub. However, we only enjoyed the scenery of the beach of which you could view from the rooftop. We also noticed that the bedsheet had what looked like blood stains at the bottom of which was disturbing to us as we thought the sheets are to be changed completely once a guest checks out for the new guest. This hotel was good for only a one-night stay.

The hotel does not clean the rooms very well. The towels are old and the sheets are torn. When you arrive, if you need to store your bags, they will charge you for storing them. They do not have an iron or ironing service. The breakfast is the same every day. The TV never worked. The only good thing was the location and the employees at the reception. In general the experience was terrible, we had to change to another hotel and them took a long time to resolve it.

The location is great! We walked everywhere. The staff was so kind! The man at the front desk was super helpful when we checked in and out. Breakfast was really good. Our room looked over the beach. The view was great. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The only thing that was not great was the beds! They are incredibly uncomfortable.

Reasonable rates and great location!

Check in was easy and fast! English was spoken which really helped a lot. Buffet breakfast was satisfying. Elevators were really small and did not need a room card to use. Pool was on the 13th floor with a beautiful view, but it was very small. No one else used it while we were there so no problem. Location couldn’t be more perfect as it was right across from the main part of Cococabana beach with restaurants with outdoor seating and the sidewalk souvenir market right next door. Easy to get taxis and Ubers too. Almost everywhere you can use a credit card. Money conversation APP and translate APP on your iPhone helps a lot. People are very friendly in Brazil and we always felt safe there!

Overall acceptable, but the worker of the front desk \"Sacha\" was not very helpful, I was allocated to a back room view, after stayed in that hotel at least 5 times before not only that it was one floor below the pool level where a loud party was till late at Saturday night, I finnaly went to bed way beyond 2 am and after some complaing to the front desk they were reluctulan or afraid to solve this problem... Beside the good locations , be aware.... There are a lot hotels close by you should look before you commit to go to this one. As they say you get what you pay for it...

Bathroom door could not be locked (the door frame was ridiculously sticking out making it impossible to close). The WiFi was so bad we had to be near the window to access it. Street noise kept us up even though we were in a “deluxe” room. Pool was nice and easy beach access was the saving grace.
