This is not a 4 star hotel despite the advertised rating. It is an old facility in urgent need of an upgrade. For example, the Astro turf up in the 12th floor terrace is in urgent need of replacement. To be fair, the room and bathroom were clean and adequate. Is not the hotel’s fault but its location is far from the city center and without easy access. The taxi rides in Palermo are expensive and must be factored in when calculating the total cost of your stay. Only some members of the staff were friendly. On the positive side, the price was relatively inexpensive but stay away from the hotel restaurant. The food there was mediocre and expensive although the person in charge was nice.

The picture of the room sleeping 3 I had booked resembled nothing like what we were given, so I had to upgrade and spend more morning. There were no glasses in the room which appeared on the 3 request. Only tea for 2 people with the 3rd cup never being provided. The tea and sugar were not refreshed in terms of supply. There was an elderly gentleman in reception one day who kept walking by the two teenage girls with me and making them feel unsafe.

The over all experience was really poor. The hotel is rated as 4 starts and affordable, but it shouldn’t be raided that high.

The beds and rooms are nothing like in the pictures. It is far away from everything. I chose it because I thought even far away from center the experience was going to be good but it wasn’t.

There were mosquitoes in the room, not able to get an extra pillow, plus mattress was really old, and you can tell it needs to be replaced.

It was quiet and friendly staff. Maybe if you are traveling with your car could be an option but not recommended for tourist that want to experience Palermo.

Nothing grate about this property, reception is very bad, dinning is very limited and dinning manger is very rude.
It appears they make business from cruse ship crowd than other client.Surrounding area is rundown and the property facility is not up to the mark as they advertise on their website.
Generally not a place I would recommend for pleasant holiday.

Pro tip: use the service elevators on the way down. They’re located in the stairway entrance, go to floor “0” then turn right to hallway. Going up the main elevators are fine, but going down you’ll wait forever. This just saved you 30-45 minutes each day. You’re welcome.

Location was excellent! The room was old and uncomfortable. The bar was extremely overpriced! A double espresso for 4 euro that is more expensive than Starbucks! Gin and tonic for 16 Euro! At most bars in Palermo you pay less than half these prices! They definitely take advantage of the convenience factor!

The hotel's glory years are behind it. It needs a really good refurbishment. Unpleasant service except one lady in the receptuon area and cleaning staff on the sixth floor. We had unworking shower on 9th floor but after conversation with reception the room has been changed for 6th floor. Poor breakfast. Small selection. Dirty tablecloths and sticky appliances. Very slow service. Not very interested in guests and what is going on in the room. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

Staff were mostly pleasant although not hugely helpful.
The bar and reception area are nice.
The room was clean and the hairdryer in the bathroom was good.
Pictures of a standard room on Expedia are actually of a superior room (we were told when we shared them with reception staff) so the rooms are dated with few amenities - certainly no kettle for example. We were told we could have hot water for drinks whenever but this actually meant at breakfast service when the urn was either tepid or empty.
The hotel is a long way from the sights of Palermo and the 107 bus unreliable. It's a long walk through a run down neighbourhood (don't do it alone) or a 20 euro taxi ride from the centre.
Don't stay here unless you have your own transport. Splash out on something nicer nearer the centre.

A bit disappointed

The hotel was in a decent location but everything else was a bit disappointing. There was a hair on the toliet lid when we arrived and the air didn't work. Lucky for us we were only staying for 2 nightes before moving to the next location because the bed was as hard as a rock and I am not exaggerating... The price was nice but it was rated as a 4 star and I would say 2 star at best...

Terrible terrible terrible! The rooms are filthy, even after we asked to have them cleaned again. The carpet was suppossed to be red but it’s so dirty is gray. Underneath the bed hasn’t been vacumed for what seemed like months. Closets and tables were filthy and we had to cleaned them before using them. The security safe, tv, mini fridge and even the room fron door lock didn’t work!! One staff member was rude upon checkin, the woman screemed at my senior mother. On top of all this the area around the hotel is the most dirty, ugly and unsafe place I’ve ever seen. This is not worth staying in to safe a few dollars. The only acceptable thing about this place was the restaurant, breakfast was good enough.

Don't get lured in by the \"pretty\" pictures posted on Expedia. It is COMPLETELY a bait and switch. The room we got looked NOTHING like the photos shown on the site. The room looked worse than Motel 6 or any of those cheap hotel chains in the USA.

Where do I even start? When I first stepped into the room, I was greeted by the smell of raw sewage and I discovered it was coming from the bathroom. It made me want to gag and puke. The sink, toilet, and tub had old stains on them, the carpet was old and musty, and the walls had black smudges everywhere.

When I went to the front desk to complain about the smell, they were unapologetic and acted like they couldn't care less and said they would send someone to look at it \"tomorrow.\" I'm sorry, but you want me to sleep in room that smells like rancid sewage?

Also the room key card they gave me didn't work. I had to go up and downstairs about 10 times to ask for a new card. How lame, especially given they only had two tiny slow elevators.

Such a shame that I booked 5 whole nights here. I had to open the window to help with the sewage smell, and then mosquitoes came in and bit me a million times. Someone eventually did come in and spray some air freshener which sort of helped cover the smell.

The worst was that the front desk concierge was completely unapologetic and acted annoyed whenever I asked them something. They really need to learn some customer service because I'd give them a big fat F.

Good quality of room given to me, but was backed onto an apartment block, so wasn't much of a view. A room higher up with a view of the sea was requested but that fell on deaf ears. The area nearby is falling apart and run down, lots of places closed down since COVID and haven't re-opened, so you need to go back into the city for a good selection of quality eating and drinking places.
The rooftop restaurant was a nice surprise, but the price for dining there and on the ground floor was far too much. No swimming pool or eagerness for the staff to help you with booking tours, only taxis to go places it seemed.

Not welcoming especially on the first day, not friendly not helpful about how to get about or what there was to see, they were not willing to help us much about what the local transportation was and were not willing to tell us about what was available or direct us to excursions.
When ordering the breakfast boxes staff were uncooperative and difficult. Service was poor....
Hotel was clean BUT area was around hotel was a dump.
It's about about 25 minutes walk to center; local buses have unreliable times

Save your time and go somewhere else

AC never worked so they brought us a fan that took 3 days to cool to a tolerable temperature to sleep. Staff seem annoyed anytime you approach them. Bed was as hard as a rock. Other guests that traveled with us didn’t even get a room because they gave their reservation to another person. Then when they came back a couple of days later they had to pay 800 for two nights.

This was the worst hotel in my life. My husband and I did NOT stay there because in the first room we find pee inside the toilet (they didn’t clean the room). So they gave us a second room and we find A LOT OF hairs inside the sink (they didn’t clean this room too). The only conclusion that we can reach is that they don’t clean any room. We left the hotel immediately because they were the worst hotel ever. DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. Worst employees too. And Hotels.com and this hotel did NOT refund my money. It is unacceptable.

I disliked the arrogance, rudeness and disrespect of the staff.
Fredericka was the only kind lady.

There was nothing VIP about this property. No facilities, no kettle no coffee no iron. It was also untidy and situated in a very dirty area.
I left the hotel halfway through my stay and paid for the rest of my holiday at a beautiful hotel called Politeama .

I was overcharged, my bar fridge emptied, treated horrendously by the staff. The breakfast was the biggest disappointment.

We had stayed at this hotel a few times before, and car park was free, but this time they are now charging to park in their upstairs car park, unless if you are lucky and find a parking space at the front, which only holds approx 5 cars, , we were leaving the hotel to go walking around, but noticed that the weather was looking cloudy so we asked reception if we could borrow an umbrella, they said, we can sell it to you but you can't have one free, most of the hotels we have stayed in the uk, if they have them they will let you use them, will rethink next time if i want to stay at that hotel again

Reasonably priced, clean, and safe facility. Some minor maintenance issues. I will preface the rest of this with saying that I do/did a lot of walking (miles), so you might prefer other options. There is no shuttle service from the hotel to the airport, so I took the bus both ways. The bus stop is a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The bus was 6.30 Euros each way - make sure you have Euros! The location of the hotel is next to a big farm/vegetable processing facility, so better to walk towards the English Gardens, then turn left to get to the main shopping/tourist/attractions area. There are small informal restaurants very close to the hotel for lunch and dinner. My reservation included breakfast at the hotel, which was convenient and good - a simple buffet setup (better than a typical one in the US).

It's right next to a dump site. Walking into the city of Palermo is a miserable experience as the smells are powerful enough to make you gag.

The images for the cedro (in house restaurant) are misleading and the food was not very good. Also, there is a smell in the restaurant \"room\" which is akin to something you would smell in a hospital for the elderly.

Pros: The hotel has parking either outside the front entrance (free) or up on the roof (8 euro per day) Staff were helpful and friendly, room was basic but OK. Bed was firm and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was varied and plentiful with both Italian breakfast and ham eggs cheese bacon etc. available.

Cons: There were few plug sockets in the room, had to unplug the TV to get and extra one. The wi fi did not work in our room. The orange juice at breakfast was not good. The coffee machine was not great either. It worked but the coffee was not so tasty. The hotel is situated a fair walk out of town. However this means it has slightly more space for parking so also a pro. Although the lobby and bar area of the hotel are nicely refurbished, the corridors and rooms upstairs are a bit shabby and older. The lock on our room was functional but didn’t feel that secure when locked ( a bit of wobble to it).

Overall a reasonable hotel with good staff, that could do with some refurbishment. OK if you just need somewhere basic and good value for your stay.

- Bad location. Extremely dirty neighborhood.
- Misinformation in description: Not in the heart of Palermo. Also reception told me that no airport shuttle or shuttle to a train station was available despite description stating that service is provided.
- Air conditioning hardly worked in room.
- Refrigerator was not working.
- Breakfast was decent with plenty of options.
- Taxi drivers want 20 euro to drive you to the Central train station or around 15 to get you to the closest one.
- You're better off finding something closer to the city center.

We chose this hotel because of the competitive pricing compared to other hotels within the city centre however, if we were to return to Palermo we would definitely look into spending a little extra money to stay closer to the city centre, as the walk was a very hot (and sweaty!) half an hour to tourist spots and as you will easily find out from looking online, public transport in Sicily is lacking. There are bus routes that go past the hotel but the timetable appears to be completed ignored and the bus will turn up whenever it decides!

The buffet breakfast was ok but nothing special, we have certainly had better breakfasts at similarly rated hotels in other parts of Europe.

We arrived at the hotel at about 11pm and check in was very easy however, upon entering our room and trying to plug our phones in to charge, our European adapters did not fit their sockets! Our air-con system was essentially non-existent and you could only feel it if you placed your hand a few inches away from it! We went back down to reception and the night staff were less than helpful, we were sent back to our room with one adapter to borrow and a handyman who claimed the air-con was fine. Upon looking online it transpired that they had put us in one of their economy rooms and not the standard we had paid for. We went back down to complain and was told there was nothing he could do until the morning! We got given the correct room the next day but it left a sour note on the holiday that we won't forget.

Very nice Hotel with all the comfort you need!

This is not the first time we stayed at this Hotel and all the time we had a great experience!

The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the centre. Its located on a busy road, but I couldn't hear the noise from outside when in my room. The room was clean and tidy and of a decent size. I thought the breakfast provided was very good with a reasonable amount of choice. The hotel staff were pleasant and polite whenever i saw them. I visited the hotel in November and it wasn't very busy. There is also a train station not too far from the premesis which made it easy to get to and from the airport.

The hotel looks smart and is well presented and running is mainly efficient. Closer to the old town would have been great - taxis are not cheap. My friend walked to town but it’s not the most pleasant walk and I wanted to do lots of sightseeing when I got there. Weather wasn’t great so the roof garden was never open - didn’t look like it had been open much before that in fact. We dined in the restaurant one evening due to very heavy rain. It was a limited menu and while the cooking itself was well done, use of herbs was poor and I got a discount as my fish based dish only contained tuna. The bar is nice and the bartender recommended a great local place to eat - La Dolce Vita in Giardino; it’s a short walk and food is excellent. Great fun - we ate there several times. If you want transfers at the price advertised, then book well in advance or you end up with another expensive airport taxi. And if you are leaving early morning, ensure your morning breakfast pack has actually been ordered from the kitchen! Ours were offered but nothing was arranged. Best plan is to ask Claudio - he does what he says he will do. I loved the more traditional bathroom in our room - heaps of hot water too.

Breakfast good, taxi share, not so much.

The room was basic, but served the purpose we needed, was good value for money. The breakfast buffet was really good, lots of choice, the only thing i would have liked would have been fresh fruit rather than tinned (the hotel is next door to a huge fruit market so this shoul dhave been easy to do).

The hotel offerers a taxi share service, that offers good discoutns, but it was never availble when we asked for it, instead taxi outside the hotel were offered, taxi's are very expensive, one night 20 euros to do a less than 2km trip back to hotel from the centre. On check out we were asked if we used anything from mini bar (there was onyl one bottle of water in there to start with anyway) we said no, and were told well there is a charge on there so we have to check, so we waited for 15 minutes for it to be confirmed. Reception staff over all not super helpful.

Local bus services are very sporadic, and dont seem to stick to any sort of timetable, but it is only a 2km walk to Town Centre, so if you can walk then you should.

Overall I would stay here again, just on the egde of town location, great breakfast and clean and excellent shower!. Good budget hotel.

Reasonable accommodation

Very disappointed with my 10 days stay in this Hotel.
The accommodation was very basic as was the room. Their was no tea or coffee facilities in the room and the T.V didn't have even one English speaking channel.
The bathroom sink was constantly blocked which caused us great inconvenience every morning and to be honest the Breakfast choices were also pretty shabby a couple of croissants and coffee for tea wasn't my idea of a breakfast buffet.
I wouldn't stay at this Hotel again.

Tired and noisy!

We arrived late in the evening as our flight was delayed. We had booked the hotel because it had a car park but when we turned up we were told there was no space and we would have to park on the street. We then eventually got to our room there were 2 single beds rather than a double as we had booked. When we went to bed we kept being woken up by the air con screeching and in the end we had to turn it off which meant we were very hot. Overall this hotel needs to be updated as it was not a comfortable nights stay.

Roof top bar was nice. Great selection for breakfast. Would not recommend hotel restaurant on the bottom floor. Food was not good at all. There really wasn't a lot to do or see within walking distance in the short amount of time that we were there. It was a nice hotel and comfortable but, I think we should have stayed closer to the water for our short visit.
