This is a small boutique hotel, which is exactly the vibe I wanted. The decor was modern and fun… the pictures don’t actually do it justice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was as described— spacious, bed was comfortable, shower nice and hot, bathroom clean… and the view from my room was exactly what I paid for— stunning!

Beautiful hotel. Loved the interior. Breakfast was great. Any time we recommend a hotel in Rio to our friends, it would be this!
What made our stay even better was Mariana, from the front desk. She was truly exceptional and there to help us with anything we needed. You guys are lucky to have her!!
From what we noticed, each and every staff member at the hotel was attentive and always available for the guests.. truly a 10/10 experience! Thank you!

The room was ok, the bathroom not very nice, overall the room held a lot of humidity and the a/c was on top of the bed so either you had to have it on but it was very uncomfortable or you had to tolerate the humidity. The breakfast was poor and as we stayed there for a week I was bored eating the same thing every day

A very well designed room. Efficient use of closet, shelving, and appliance space. I was fascinated by the glass wall separating the shower stall and the sleeping area. Very sexy. The balcony was narrow but offer very wide views of Copacabana Beach. The only drawback was the high amount of sunlight that entered the room I was in.

I did get the chance to order their breakfast buffet. The buffet was stocked with delicious breakfast pastries, meats, cheese, and coffees. The covered patio was perfectly positioned to face Atlantic Ave.

I made reservations for a massage. This arrangement fell short of expectations. I was expecting a table massage. Instead, I received a chair massage. Nonetheless, the massage was excellent and proved relief.

There was mold everywhere in our bathroom. Ned sheets were not clean. I asked them to change the room without mold and they did. There was mold in the 2nd room too. Except the bathroom, the rest of the room was ok. The reception guy was not that helpful, but he was kind and nice.

Excellent location on Copa beach. Many great restaurants are nearby. Room size is appropriate. Shower is very comfortable. Breakfast is okay not great. The only complaint is bathroom vanity easily got wet due to small vanity and water spill.

We just left the hotel and we’re already planning our next trip. The hotel location is great. We visited for my fiancé’s 40th birthday, and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay for our first time in Rio. The staff was fantastic, from the check in, to the beach staff (Chaz was amazing!), to the restaurant. Everyone was super helpful and accommodating.
We’ll definitely be booking with Mercure Rio Boutique again, and will be recommending to friends and family. Job well done!

Our only feedback- the towels were a little rough, it’s time for some new ones. Other than that, 5 stars!

First time in Rio de Janeiro and its the first of many visits, we loved it. The hotel is in a perfect location center of Copacabana where you can walk to either side and have endless options of bars or restaurants to choose from. The staff on site amazing and eager to help.
The rooms with a side view of Copacabana worth it! Unfortunetly the A/C is old and doesnt work properly it was warm most of the time its so old they have it working on a Universal Remote, plus needed some cleaning on the vents. The shower needed some looking after but other than that the Hotel is worth another try and for sure would recommend.

Location of property is good! Walking distance to shops and restaurants ! Hotel itself is ok I would not come back! The ac works poorly .. every time I shower water drips from ac vent. I had lunch there and found hair in my food! Lipstick stains on my coffee mug & stains on bed sheets. Overall if you are looking for just a stay I would recommend but if you want more of a luxurious hotel I would not stay !

Couldn’t be better. Super comfortable, huge bed. Great funky decor. The front of house staff couldn’t have been more helpful and they spoke English!!!
Breakfast was good but cappucino from machine awful as it was very very sweet.
Perfect position in the centre of Copacabana beach right near beach front restaurants!

Stayed here for two nights. Cute funky design, rooms were clean. They were tiny little flies in the shower- harmless and was too lazy to complain. The towels could have been fluffier/sheets softer. Loved the natural soaps. Desk is pretty small, barely fit my laptop. Overall the room was small but it was well designed that i didnt mind it. Shower pressure was just ok. Overall comfortable, nice design, convenient location, friendly staff- not your most luxurious stay.

When I checked in, they refused to give me my upgrade. They had the rooms, but wanted money to upgrade me.
Room I stayed in was small, but efficient. Bathroom had mold all around the shower, and the AC worked, but was all rotted out.

It is the hidden gem in Copabana. Rooms are not big ,clean comfortable bed and pillows , free breakfast, on the main street across from the beach. shower is strong. Staff is great . Next door to the JW Marriot, and winsdor Califorina. Cant ask for a better location. Price is about half of those hotels.

The hotel is right infront of copacabana beach. Despite the noise infront of the beach and street cars, inside the room is very quiet. Our room has a balcony with partial view. Water is not provided, Only 1 Coffee and 1 tea is free on the first night. There is supermarket 3 corners away. A lot of dining and shopping near the hotel. Very convenient. Friendly and helpful staff especially Duda, who helped us how to go around. Front desk and Duda speak very good English, easy to communicate.

When it came time to take a shower, there was no cold water, only hot water. I called the Front Desk to complain and ask maintenance personnel to fix the issue. I was advised maintenance workers would be on duty starting at 7am. It was 5am when I had to take a shower so it was a scalding hot shower. Maintenance did fix the issue after 7am. I went out for the day and returned to my room with the temperature significantly higher than when I left. There was an air conditioning problem the was fixed immediately. The staff was great, I could tell they meant well. This hotel needs to make some improvements to its fixtures and the. I think they will get higher rated reviews.

Good choice to stay right in front of the Copacabana beach. Free beach towels and chairs. It was a bit lacking on cleanliness front because they were overwhelmed on the days of my visit. Breakfast is good spread but can improve with egg stations. AC needs some improvement. Sometimes it was very cold and sometimes it was warm. Not sure if it was me or had to do something with the thermostat.

This is the most discusting hotel I have ever stayed at! Mildew and mold everywhere in the room. The toilet doesn't flush and the AC is leaking onto the floor creating a puddle. Homeless people right outside of the hotel. I paid for a room with a balcony and ocean view, but got a balcony with a view of a nasy alleyway. On top of it all front desk attendents are scamming tourists by selling carnival tickets for 4 times the price that it says on the ticket. I should've know it was a scam when he said no credit cards, only cash.
I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy

Cute hotel, some small improvements needed

Cute hotel rooms and tropical theme, amazing view of Copacabana is the highlight. The staff were all super helpful but a few things felt too budget like no irons in the rooms (and when called told none are available) and they don’t give you any complimentary drinking water not even 1 bottle. If they had some of these basic amenities available the whole stay would have been better. Also the cleaning staff came very late in the day so if you want to relax in the room in the afternoon you can’t.
Breakfast was great and the ceviche restaurant downstairs is very good and the room service food although it came from the same place wasn’t as good as the food in the restaurant.

Clean and basic hotel on Copacabana beach. I would equate it to ALoft or Moxy. If you are looking for a no frills, clean hotel on the beach with a cozy room and good price, this is your place. Let’s face it, when in Rio you should not spend much time in the room anyway.

The room was 20sqm, but who knew the bed would be 18sqm!! No space to move around. Very difficult and uncomfortable. Poor amenities. Staff don't care. It seems they give these rooms to those who book through Expedia or hotels.com. but not to direct booked customers!
