The staff was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make the stay pleasant. While the rooms could use some updating, it’s clear they’re doing their best to keep everything well-maintained. Daily room cleaning was a big plus, especially during a beach stay—it really made a difference.

Breakfast had a made to order omelette station. Avoid high peak times as it can take over 30 minutes to get the omelette. I would say daily complimentary waters and microwaves would go long way in the rooms. Or at least more water dispensers instead of only at the fitness center that closes at 10pm.

Location is unbeatable directly across the beach. Safety as well.

Had a great stay for four nights during my first trip to Rio. Loved the location, central to most of the sites in Rio and easy to walk to other nearby neighborhoods. The staff was amazing, very helpful. Breakfast was great too. Highly recommend staying here!

The staff at the desk and pool was absolutely wonderful. Great location for Copacabana beach-going. However, the room was not very good. The pool and number of lounge chairs were much too small for this size hotel. The breakfast was good but the seating was crowded.

One of the best stays I have had. The room had a balcony (bit small) but opened to sea view. Had 2 rooms, living room with a twin bed, couch and tv. The bedroom has a queen bed and a window.

I was a long time since I stayed at Pestana Rio Atlantica. The hotel stays very good, well maintained and located. Only complain is that the refrigerator was not working. But staff is superb, always willing to help and turn your stay a great experience. Congrats!

This is a formal complaint regarding my stay at this hotel with my husband John Koenig.
From the first night, the air conditioning in our room did not work properly, which resulted in a terrible night's sleep. We request
Maintenance, but the problem persisted. Then, I was given the option to see another room, but the situation remained the same: the air conditioning did not work properly in the two rooms offered, I was relocated again to a third roomWhere the A/C worked a
Little better than all the others. However, this room was visibly inferior to what I had booked: the bed is smaller, the room is smaller and the closet is also significantly reduced. In addition, the bathroom has no space inside the shower area to put our items and everything was scattered on the floor. This change represented a clear loss of comfort and does not meet the expectations or conditions of the reservation I made.
with my husband, who is American, and our goal was to experience and show the best of Rio de Janeiro. Unfortunately, the experience with the hosting was frustrating and does not match the expected standard. Both my husband and I are wondering if this represents the best that this hotel in Rio de Janeiro has to offer. We shouldn't have faced this kind of problem during our long-awaited vacation in RJ.
We are very unhappy, because in addition to the inconvenience caused by room changes, we did not have an effective solution. We were extremely pleased with the exceptional service of

Nice hotel on Copacabana Beach. Very helpful staff, good facilities only real downside was the air conditioning was not working in 35c heat, fortunately could open the balcony window.. breakfast was rather frantic as the hotel was busy and couldn’t face it again the next morning despite being included with the room. Overall, a good hotel conveniently located on the beach.

My room did overlook a portion of the beach. The breakfast was excellent and diversified. The room was spacious and clean. The majority of the staff, including Igor, and Moicir were very friendly and accomodating. The only problem that kept me from giving this hotel a 5 star review, was Humberto, the receptionist from Peru who was a real jerk and did not fit the overall friendliness of the hotel. , Larry Carli, California USA.

We received our room and found that the bed had a hole in it. We reported the issue and were moved to another room, but unfortunately, that bed was also somewhat deformed. The bathroom door would get stuck and couldn’t be fully opened, which was quite inconvenient. We had specifically requested a room with an ocean view, but we were given a completely different one — the view was unpleasant, and there was a large net hanging from the top of the building that obstructed it.

The television didn’t work; although we reported it immediately, it was only checked on the 7th day of our 11-day stay. The minibar worked inconsistently — one day it was fine, the next day it was full of water leaking onto the floor. For several days, housekeeping didn’t clean the room, and when they did, it was done poorly — underneath the bed was extremely dirty.

At breakfast, the kitchen staff often seemed in a bad mood, service was very slow, and the buffet was exactly the same every single day. Overall, I’m disappointed with the experience, as the hotel is quite old and does not match the price charged.

Stayed in Premium Suite, the view was amazing, bed was super comfortable but these is lack of maintenance with doors between room and bathroom not sliding, balcony doors don't lock at all, air conditioning very noisy and not always works as selected, mini bar very pricey when it should be a perk on the suite due to the high price tag of the room, parking only available as a valet which wasn't a big issue but again when staying in a 2k suite you expect to be treated or have some of the facilities added to your experience... VIP breakfast for premium suite customers it's very poor in choice so we end up using the main breakfast instead.

It is an amazing Hotel. Beautiful view. Great Terrace at the front rooms. Pool is gorgeous but could close a bit later since it closes at 6 pm in a hot and beautiful town like Rio. Other than that staff is very friendly and the room was very clean. Top terrace is wonderful. Thank you!!

Hotel cancelled our rooms after we were late checking in due to a several hours delayed flight. However, they did not cancel the charge. Hotels.com wasn't helpful so we had to file a complaint through our bank to cancel the charge. Horrible. Staff at the hotel was very rude, ill-mannered, and unapologetic. Very unexpected given that most people in Rio are quite warm and friendly. Stay away from this \"pest\"!

The staff at this hotel was beyond amazing! Everything from front desk in particular two people i want to recognize (Manoela, and Gregory) they helped me with everything and provided me with some very amazing services. They were able to tell me everything about the surrounding areas, and they helped me stay safe with recommendations. The staff upstairs at the Bar were just as amazing, thank you and with out a doubt one of the best stays I have had in a long long time! Highly recommend the 1201/1202 rooms and views! :)

Convenient location and quite affordable for being right on the beach. Has a nice roof pool with a good number of loungers, breakfast limited in choice but tasty. We've had the suite with balcony, great views and a nice spot to spend your afternoon. The rooms and bathrooms are really worn out, and cleaning could do with more attention especially in hard to reach spots.

From the moment we walked in we had an amazing experience. Marcs was soooo helpful and attentive for the entirety of our stay! The room was clean, fridge was stocked daily w/ water and juices, hot shower water and cold A/C. Awesome views and service at the rooftop bar. I loved that we could borrow beach towels daily! Walking distance to good food, convenience stores, and Roxy’s dinner show. I will be staying here every time I’m in Rio & I recommend you do as well!

The Pestana is a good, no frills choice if you don't plan to be in your room much! It's centrally located on Copacabana, walking distance to cute restaurants and shops. The breakfast is convenient and fine, but crowded and a bit chaotic. Beach towels could use some updating, especially since it's the only beach amenity offered.

It's a great location on Copacabana with a nice breakfast, although quite busy because if the size of the place. Decent minibar. Rooftop pool with amazing views, bar and meals. However, it closed at 5pm. As with many hotels on Copacabana, its approaching time for a refurb but I had a lovey experience!

My husband and I had an amazing time and spent 6 nights at this hotel. The staff was always friendly and ready to help and answer any questions we had. Room was small but had everything we needed and most importantly clean. We had a great view from our room and it was quiet at night. Staff speaks English and Spanish and always tried their best to communicate. Big thank you to Louisa and Alexandre ! We recommend this beautiful hotel and will definitely be back!

Arrived with my mother in law and goddaughter who is 8, tired from a long day stuck in a bad storm, soaking wet. Desperate to take a warm shower and to get in bed, we went to check in. I had made the reservation for two people but brought my goddaughter because of the flooding on Av Niemeyer, we couldn’t drop her off at home and she stayed with us. The hotel advised me that we would have to upgrade the room in order to accommodate her. I said she would sleep with us in the bed. They told me because of the weight it cannot accommodate all of us. Mind you my goddaughter is a frail tiny girl, as well as my mother in law, she’s about 1.50cm. They were sold out of all rooms but one, we would have had to pay over 2000 reais for that room. Despite the pouring rain and exhaustion, I walked out and booked another room. They wouldn’t refund me. The hotel looked pretty and it’s a shame, but I’ll never attempt to stay there again.

The hallways were not air conditioned plus our air conditioner was working one night we woke up at 5am sooo humid couldnt sleep..they told me when i asked that i didnt need wifi password that it would just connect i had frustrating internet issues complained upon checkiut and yhey then told me with iphone i needed the password…communication terrible…room had small bugs by the fridge and bath tub…tv placed in a poor pisition to watch and couldnt move it…very hard to find free water …breakfast was very good a lot of food…overall wasnt the happiest but they did refund one night after complaint but still would never stay there again…

Hôtel bien situé à Copacabana

Nous avons passé un beau séjour à cet hôtel. Il est idéalement situé, central et juste en face de la plage de Copacabana. Il y a 2 épiceries à proximité de l'hôtel et de nombreux restaurants également.

La piscine sur le toit donne une vue magnifique sur la plage. Le déjeuner était excellent et j'ai beaucoup apprécié aussi que l'on puisse se faire faire une omelette ou une crêpe par le cuisinier.

Notre chambre aurait mérité quelques rénovations, car il y avait des bris apparents (plancher brisé sous la porte coulissante de la salle de bain, seulement une table de chevet, porte-patio qui ne barre plus, matelas à changer).

Tout le personnel a été très gentil, à l'écoute et aidant lors de notre séjour.

The breakfast was delicious, especially the oatmeal. The location is great, with many dining options, and close to the beach. The staff made our first time in Rio, an awesome experience—such an amazing, friendly, helpful team. Thanks so much to Mancela/Marcela. (I hope I got it right). We had an issue with our room, I alerted the front desk, did she switched us to another room. She saw us the next day and asked if we were comfortable and happy with the new room. Todo muy bien. El desayuno es hasta las 10. Deberia ser hasta las 10.30. Teniamos que hacer fila para entrar. Le vendria nuy bien un espacio kids y servicio de playa. Ah y extender hasta por lo menos las 19.30 o 20 hs el horario de la pileta.
