I hated this hotel. They take the card off of the room each time they clean the room, and they only clean it when u ask them. First five days I stayed in they didn’t clean it once. The food in the restaurant if also so bad.

Room was very small, dirty windows.
WiFi didn’t work for 2 days. When asking at reception they told me a technician would have a look - no one ever came.
Breakfast average for a 4* hotel.
Reception always had a queue for 10 mins+ if asking a question.
Significantly overpriced for a hotel that’s not on the beach.
Appreciate it was near Carnaval time and busy but disappointing stay

This hotel is filled with lazy and lying people. Upon check in we were told we can have an additional person stay with us. Only to come back FOUR days later -- with only 2 nights left -- demanding $530 for the additional person. Called the cops on us after attempting to hold our belongings hostage. The cops literally could not do anything so they left annoyed. On top of that, our toilet stopped working. We complained everyday and NOTHING was done. We had to use the bathroom in the lobby. Every time, we went from the 8th floor to the lobby to use the restroom. The ceiling was also leaking and moldy. DO NOT STAY HERE!

i had a great time staying at this hotel! i loveddd that it was so close to the beach & it really helped since i was there for new years. it was only 3ish blocks away! alexandre checked me in & he was such a pleasure! i loved speaking with him & i was always happy to see him when i was coming in & out of the hotel.

i had a mishap with leaving my jacket in the back of a fuber (fake uber) & the next day after my stay, daniela helped me & confirmed that it was returned! she was very sweet & she also helped me at check out & keeping my bag stored away when i wanted to leave my stuff there before my flight!

We got placed in a room that looked like it was run down, molding and seriously unclean. the ac would leak constantly from the ceiling and drip close to the bed and the amount of times we called maintenance it was never getting fixed right even if they brought someone out. The sink and toilet would clog constantly as well.

This place was smaller than I expected on top of that the bathroom really smelled like urine to the point where I couldn’t stay because the smell was so strong. You can tell they cleaned because it smelled like urine and cleaning products maybe has something to do with the plumbing But I switched hotels because I did not like how small the room was either.

Everything is good but the room is small.
The disappointment was the breakfast, they start to put a cart for cleaning and removing the stuff from the table and the cart position was next to your body and very close to your face . Also they don’t have bowls for cereal and oatmeal, I request but i didn’t get it.

Very small room and a constant smell of sewage from the bathroom in our room. The bathroom had an extremely rusty mirror, rusty trashcan, and the sink would spray water everywhere. The AC barely worked and there weren’t any outlets next to the bed which made it harder to charge our phones. The parking rate was the cheapest we found in the city, and the breakfast was phenomenal.

This was an excellent choice for a hotel. The room and dinning area where they offered free breakfast was very clean. There was a variety of delicious food. The hotel is located about two blocks from the Copacabana Beach, so walking was easy. Also they have a beautiful rooftop along with a pool with an amazing view of the mountains and the Christ the Redeemer. I would highly recommend you stay there.

The stay wasn’t bad but the elevator was out of service. Imagine having to climb up to the 9th floor every single time and to the 17th floor to go to the pool. Oh and I got stuck in the elevator to make matters worse.

The hotel is good, well located and easy to access everything around Copacabana Area in Río de Janeiro, a couple of times lights went out in the hotel, not sure why, but it did happen. Also the toilet of the bathroom had continuous issues (filling water, not discharging correctly, bad unloaded) so we had to call the staff to fix that.

Good, but there are a few caveats

The hotel is centrally located just 3 blocks away from Copacabana beach and everything one needs. I booked a luxury twin room with 2 twin beds. I fail to see how it was luxurious because it was basic. It had all the amenities one expects and it was clean, with daily housekeeping. But it was small for 2 people and we barely had enough space to set down our suitcases.

The hotel allows pets (which is great) but there there was urine smell in some spots in the room. It was not noticeable in general but it was there nonetheless. The rooftop views are stunning and worth hanging out. The pool is small but perfect for a dip but the water was murky and there was mould around the edge so we avoided it.

The breakfast buffet is plentiful and you won't go hungry. Surprisingly, the restaurant did not allow guests to bring cups to make tea in the room - instead giving guests styrofoam cups. For a hotel that claims to be concerned environment, they must re-examine what that actually entails. It doesn't stop at just reusing towels.

The biggest downfall for me (as this was a working holiday) is the internet. Impossible to get a strong and reliable signal from the room. It was only reliable in the lobby where sitting in an uncomfortable couch near the 1 plug was not ideal. I was told it was getting fixed but after 1 week, that never happened.

All in all, I do recommend it as a centrally-located hotel but do not be swayed by the apparent luxurious pictures.

My recent stay at Americas Copacabana Hotel was excellent! The hotel's location is ideal--within walking distance of a supermarket, a variety of restaurants, and Copacabana Beach. The hotel's staff members were tremendous--professional and personable. The room was very nice and comfortable. The included breakfast was outstanding. I'm thankful to all of the team members I encountered; they each contributed to a first-rate experience!

The room was rather small. It was a STANDARD DOUBLE. I am lucky I was by myself. Had I been accompanied I would not have been able to open 2 large suitcases.

The lifts took a while to come.

Nevertheless, the staff were superb!

Ms Charlene, Mr Mataus and all the rest of the staff went far and beyond to assist me.

It is a clean hotel with average amenities.Pool is very small,breakfast is very poor.There is no vegetable in the breakfast,no tomatoes no lettuce no caprisum no olives nothing.They had scrambled eggs,could only be someones nightmare.I didn't touch the sausages,eggs ,cakes all junk food.Coffee machine is a 2 star machine,doesn't even give you proper coffee.Apart from these it is ok but definitely not worth what I paid for.

Great price for the location, with relatively modernized rooms. But man will they make you earn your stay - tough to order room service if you don't speak portugese, similar story with reception, the cleaning crews will be around early mornings in the corrdiros which you can hear in the room due to paper thin walls.

After a long haul flight arrived at the hotel at 8am but check in was not available. Staff said come at 12pm and then 2pm but check in was done at 3pm. Staff not very helpful. Did not respond to emails before arrival date. Hotel is on a busy noisy street, windows are not double glazed. No coffee or tea facilities in room. Limited hangers. Overall hotel was basic quality. Hotel was in a good location. Breakfast had a good choice.

Great location a few blocks from the beach. 24-hour front desk always had someone on staff that spoke English and that was super helpful. Nice rooftop with pool, gym, and bar that served food from the restaurant downstairs. I would definitely stay there again.

A room had the description listed as “sleeps 3” so I booked it, when I arrived they insisted the room only sleeps 2 and made me book a whole other room for 1 person. It was New Year’s Eve so of course they were price gouging on top of the false advertisement. Also had a friend lightly lean on a table they had set out and it broke in half, they tried to charge me for that table later. Location is great, you can see christ the redeemer from some of the rooms but overall, it’s meh.

This is a terrible place to stay, the pool was extremely dirty, there where not enough lounge chairs to lay out, not enough towels. Just not what the images were. The worst part is the wait to check in!!! I had to wait on a long line and there was not enough staff to help. The elevators took too long to use. The food was terrible. The $300/50 US was for New Year's eve celebration was too much, since it was buffet style. I think they need to reconsider their star rating and make this a one star hotel. Based on my stay I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!

I was having a hard time finding a safe , reasonable and well located hotel in Copacabana. Well, Americas fit the bill. Reception is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and air conditioning worked well. Wifi was spotty in the room, but worked very well in reception and in the rooftop pool area. Breakfast had a good selection and hot items changed daily. Room had a safe and the area felt safe at night for a walk to a restaurant or supermarket. Will definitely be back.

I stayed here twice during my holiday. 1st stay was not comfortable as ir was very noisy. They roomed me between a group of very loud party people who kept me awake til 6am over the the weekend. Seemed like a poor choice of room arrangement. Room 711 was small but clean and functional, Internet signal was good enough. It would have been quiet as it faved the court yard not road.mini barvwas very cold which was good.
My return visit i booked the accessible room 608 this was a very peaceful stay and super comfy bed. The wifi kept dropping out and was for 12 hours which was poor.
The pool and bar area os fabulous, Breakfast amazing value. The gym was very small but ok for short cardio sessions. The staff in general were really friendly. Expensive for late checkout though £40 so a nights cost.
Easy 2 blocks from beach and 2 mins from supermarket and restaurants. 30 mins to airport. Id return.

The room is fine. One issue I have though is that the electrical outlets in this hotel are all 220V as opposed to other hotels I’ve stayed in which have the normal 110V outlets. So I had to request for a transformer so I can use my hair dryer and hair straightener. Also, probably particular to the room I stayed in, water seems to be leaking from somewhere and it was causing some flooding in the bathroom floor. Other than that, the hotel is fine and the staff are great and helpful.

I choose this hotel because of the gym and sauna. However the sauna was under maintenance, they told me at checkin that it would be fix and ready to use the next day, however that was not the case. It was still under maintenance my entire stay even though they keep informing me that it will be fixed by the next day and the next day… the gym was not what the picture shown to be. It was in a poor condition and paper towel, nothing to wipe down the machine after someone used it, no AC, no Fan. Aside from all that. I had a good stay, they clean my room everyday, whenever I call for anything at the front desk, they were very prompt with on time delivery. The room was nice but a bit small for two. Overall it was a good stay.

I booked in for one evening to use the Wi-Fi and work on my laptop. The Wi-Fi didn’t work all evening. The staff on duty were no help and said they could do nothing and there was mold on the ceiling which I’m guessing is what was causing the strange smell in the room.

The hotel left much to be desired. During the five days I stayed there, only one of the 3 lifts was working, which meant it was sometimes impossible to go up or down. It took me 6 minutes to go from the ground floor to the 11th floor. The bedsheet was torn. There was a hole in the bathroom wall where the tile finishing was missing. The air conditioning temperature control didn't work, causing the room to be very cold and giving me a sore throat. They mistakenly charged for a water bottle in the room. With the lifts broken, I had to take the stairs twice. There were several trays, dishes, jugs, and litter in the emergency stairs, which by law should always be clear. I reported this one night. The next day, the garbage was still there. I mentioned it again, and if you doubt it, the litter is probably still there. Overall, the breakfast is good, and they vary the hot items daily. Twice, the scrambled eggs were full of eggshells.

I enjoy using Expedia for my travel leisure.
However, this particular venue was the most horrible venue I’ve ever stayed at, and I was utterly shocked by the room as it was noted as an upgrade. I had to mention that I was supposed to receive an upgrade, and then the front clerk upgraded me not as a means of “you have been upgraded” because of the status of my relationship with Expedia. The room was small, it was not clean, it had ants, the air had mold, which caused me to become sick, and I was ill for at least two days trying to recover. The bathroom had mold in the shower. The sink was clogged with hair in the sink, and the air was not flowing inside the bathroom for ventilation. There was mold on the walls and the views were of an alley. The only positive thing that came of this trip was that one or two front desk clerks were very friendly and helped me navigate finding some excursions, and one glimpse of a view of the Christ redeemer. Overall, I will coin this trip to be my worst experience of booking with Expedia. If you need evidence or pictures regarding these allegations, please advise where I can submit them for review.

The hotel is clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is mediocre. Definitely does not cater to all cultures. But the reason that I am giving this hotel two stars is that they do not have one microwave for the guests to use. Not a single microwave In any guest room or in any shared spaces. This is ridiculous as it is a “hotel”. I had a very expensive dinner with my fiancée and when we couldn’t finish the food, we thought to bring it back to our room and was very disappointed and dissatisfied when the front desk made us aware that there was not any way we could heat up the food and there was nothing he could do for us. Also supposedly there is a restaurant to eat lunch and dinner but it was not open our entire stay. No way to get food and no way to heat up food. Needless to say I will definitely be returning to Rio and not staying at this hotel.

The hotel is walkable to the beach area. About 2-3 blocks.
We felt safe in the area. Next door is a local pharmacy and a few places for food.
We didn’t hear exterior noise in our room. Breakfast buffet was pleasant with lots to choose from.
Con are the following:
-The wifi connection was terrrible. Signal was not that great. I needed to work in the mornings and just loading my emails was taking long or not connecting.
If you need to work I would suggest not staying here for a week.
- they don’t have an iron to provide but they do have a service for that for a fee
- when showing, water will get out towards the toilet and sink due to the curtain they have installed. You have to put several towels.
- room service did not cleaned the floors.

The staff allowed someone who was not a guest harassed and not allow me to go to my room in the hotel i paid for. Didnt feel safe nor, did they accommodate or fox the situation after. Accessible to everything like restaurants , beaches and center of everything. They just need to improve their wifi connections coz as a tourist it is important to have communications thru wifi with friends and family. Overall it was a great vacation stay.

GREAT VIEW, CLEAN AND CONVENIENT. I DIDNT LIKE THAT THE WAIT FOR THE ELEVATOR TOOK LONG. AND THEY WERE SMALL SO THAT WAS ALWAYS A HASLE AND THE BREAKFAST DINING ROOM WAS REALLY NOISY. IDK IF ITS BECAUSE THERE WERE A LOT OF GUESTS OR THE DINING AREAS WERE TOO SMALL TO ACCOMADATE SO MANY PEOPLE. THE ESPRESSO MACHINE WAS ALSO BROKE FEW DAYS IN A ROW. BUT OVERALL I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN EXCEPT GO OUT FOR BREAKFAST ELSWHERE.

Been going here for over 5 years and Everytime I visit from the USA Im satisfied with this Hotel and have recommended many people to stay. The staff knows me and hugs me as I walk in the door

Noisy Fridge. It was really loud and hard to sleep.

Air Conditioned did not work. It was on but did not cool the room.

Really bad Internet - I had to go to a neighbor hotel to get internet to do some work. I complained about the internet, but nothing was done.

Really small inside. Not like the pictures.

No upgrades as VIP member.

Will never stay here again. I regreted every moment.

Great Experience

Very professional staff! Breakfast was great!! Door attendants was helpful. Location is excellent. There is a store on the corner for water and shower gel!! 8min walk away from copa beach!! I enjoyed and will be back!!! I forgot to mention the shower. It sprinkles down from the top. Hot water was always there.

Hotel in a great location

Hotel very close to Copacabana beach. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast had many options. The rooms were big and clean.
