Starting with the positive: GREAT Location & breakfast buffet starts a 6am.
Negative points: Very SLOW elevators
Rooms are very, very basic and with poor maintenance. Walls need a good paint job.
They need to buy new sheets and towels as they look overused, worn and dirty. They also need improve the lighting in the bathroom mirror and install a shelf in the shower for toiletries
Internet is bad. TV has no international channels except for CNN and very poor reception. . Hot water takes forever to arrive.small and poorly maintained rooftop pool
Poor customer service, unfriendly reception staff. They need training in hospitality and speak English & Spanish at least.

You stay at the Atlantico for the location (10/10) and the price (10/10). The main problem was the lifts (it broke 2 times during the 4 days we were there) plus there arent anought for this 15+ story building (only 2 small elevators). Cleanliness of the room also left a lot to be desired: the mirror in the bathroom was really dirty when we got the room, plus the bathroom had tons of hair on the floor (I don't think the floors had been cleaned before we took the room). But I. The end, we spent very little time at the hotel because beautiful Rio has a lot to offer. But be warned that the low cost of the room comes with some downsides.

The hotel is strategically located near a metro station. It is a few blocks away from the beach.
Breakfast breads are the only menu that varies. The rest are constatnt. It is quite challenging to use the elevator. One unit is often not working so it is always full. Good thing we were booke only at the 2nd floor so we can opt to use the stairs. Otherwise, you will lose quite a time waiting for the elevator. Swimming pool was smallet than expected. Though it has a great view. Used to checking in to hotels with complementary water. I was surprised it isn't and Idon't think there was a sign that it wasn't. Also quite a business for them to charge fee for keeping your luggage while waiting for your afternoon flight after the 12nn check out. But the overall experience was reasonable for its price.

The best way i can sum up this experience is by using pro and con

Pros:
The location of the hotel was perfect; It was walking distance from restaurants, shopping areas, food stores, and the famous copacabana beach.

The area is relatively safe; walking to copacabana beach only took me 5 minutes and at no time i felt unsafe.

The maintenance response was very timely.

CONS:
It would appear that the property is poorly managed as there was a lacking in attention to details.

Housekeeping: The housekeeping department was extremely relaxed on cleaning. It seems that they only focused on making up the beds which was sub-standard. Floors remain dirty and unswept after maid service. Bathroom ceiling and showers were littered mold and was not cleaned during maid service.

The rooms are not carpeted, therefore you are constantly disturbed throughout the morning, day and night by the screeching sound of furniture being moved around maid and other guests with kids.

The resort management needs to invest in furniture felt or simply carpet the rooms.

Property staff was really friendly, was told TV channels worked however from around 30 channels only 10 or 15 max worked with a questionable quality.

Breakfast option was limited but absolutely delicious. Room was as expected, only thing is that bathroom door was kinda rotten from one corner due to humidity.

Outlets worked, AC as well, soundproof windows were a plus considering a firefighter station was nearby. Hot and cold water was available, toiletries and a hair dryer were as expected.

Is well balanced considering price range.

Great value for a family trip to rio

I am basing this review on the price paid. We came during the week in wintertime.

Breakfast alone justified the stay.

24 hour corner store just a few steps away. Full grocery store a few more steps away. & then of course the beach a few more steps away.

Note:water in fridge is not complementary. I thought they were because there were just four small bottles of a no nane brand.

My reservation included two rooms, 302 and 402.

In room 302, the towels were collected but not replaced with new ones. It took over 30 minutes to return them after we raised a complaint.

In room 402, we had to visit the reception three times to ensure that the key entry was programmed correctly. Additionally, the bathroom was found to be dirty and had mold on the ceiling.

Upon leaving in the morning, we returned in the evening to discover that the television stand had been broken, which was not the case when we left. After filing a report, the issue was promptly fixed.

Despite the repairs, we continue to experience noise from other rooms in various directions, both inside and outside the rooms. Furthermore, the elevators have been emitting continuous beeping noises throughout the day and night.

First checked into room not made up, sheets on floor, lights broken--looked like a fight occurred in the room. Next room had mold in the shower, no pillow cases, uclean old cover, mattress had to be 40 years old, staff only removed trash daily and put old moldy bed cover back on. We had to demand clean towels daily. Provided breakfast was mediocre at best. 2 of 3 elevators operable for 18 floors. And more! Couldn't wait to leave.

The location is ideal, the potential is huge but the reality is not so good.

Amenities don’t work and don’t expect the staff to give you a solution. Elevators are too slow and programmed in a way that makes everything works poorly.

The cleaning is not there yet. Many things seemed to require an update.

The swimming pool is far from usable, water looks filthy and it’s super tiny considering the amount of guests this hotel hosts.

The breakfast is good, generous and with good enough options.

This place needs an update very very soon!

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Firstly, the staff wanted 10USD to store guests’ luggage prior to check in time. This is practically standard service at other hotels. They were money gouging their clients.

The bed didn’t have fitted sheet and the doona/quilt didn’t have a cover. In spite of the check in being 30 minutes the bed was still only half made.

The only reason I could sleep was because I had my own sleeping bag.

The aircon didn’t work well either.

Rooms and facilities overall were dirty. Staff was rude and uninformed about breakfast options for celiacs even though when making the reservation they told us that they had many gluten-free options. We’ve stayed in many hotels in Copacabana and they are always friendly about gluten-free options so the fact that they were so ignorant was a surprise for us. There’s three elevators and none of them work properly. If you want to leave your luggage before or after your reservation they want to charge you 30BRL. Overall it gets the job done, just be aware of what you’re getting into. The only positive thing is the location.

Hotel sujo, quartos e roupa de cama sujas manchadas, barulhento, camareiras no corredor cedo fazendo muito barulho e conversando alto. Troquei 3 vezes de quarto (1 quarto com xixi no vaso sanitário e roupas de camas com mancha marrom), (2 quarto com o pé da cama quebrado e roupa de cama manchada) e (3 quarto com roupa de cama suja, cabelo no vaso sanitário).

Imagina chegar em um hotel depois de 10horas de voo e não ter um ambiente limpo? Frustrado! Tenho fotos para comprovar todos os problemas encontrados.

Não recomendo esse hotel para ninguém!

Hotel is horrible! Impossible to connect to WiFi. That means no WiFi and that means you cannot check in online for your next flight. Expedia failed to disclose that my booking for single room occupancy is without a window. The outlets designed for Brazilian iPhone chargers only, you will face a big issue changing your phone if you have an American or European charger. The hotel is filthy, dirty and simply disgusting. Overall, my experience in Brazil, starting from the airport exchange scammers, then dirty hotel. Just be ready to be scammed in Brazil! Never exchange U.S. dollars in any Brazilian airports. For example, in Rio,(GIG) international Airport, for $20 us dollars I got 70 Brazilian reals. The great thing is that for 25 Brazilian reals you can get from Rio Airport GIG to Copacabana via LECD71 bus that passes Ipanema with final distention to Leblon. Taxi drivers are scammers, one offered 150 Brazilian reals to go to Copacabana. Be aware when you are visiting Brazil take a bus LECD71 and do yourself a favor stay away from Hotel Atlantico Rio. In this hotel you will hear everything and everyone from chair movements, sneezing, text messaging, conversations, and foot steps since there is no carpeting; oh, one more surprise—all three elevators make sort of beeping noise all the time it stops on the floor you are staying! Horrible hotel. Average breakfast. Just think for a moment if this hotel is dirty, would you eat breakfast there? Pay little more and stay elsewhere.

Great hotel in a good location in Copanema (Copacabana/Ipanema border). Right next to the subway entrance and a short walk to the beach and lots of restaurants. Place is disgusting, molds every where, the only good thing here is the breakfast. My son is sick 😷 with asthma because of the mold’s. Customer service is horrible people work a day. He’s OK people work a night sucks rude very rude. They don’t care after you check in. I stay five days with my two boys. No towel for three days. The cleaning people took my towels never brought me another one back when I ask for a towel, they yell on me saying I was causing chaos just because a towel .

Positive points: 1- Location; 2- breakfast variety of foods (but there was no cheese bread /pão de queijo; 3- the pressure of of shower head.

Negative points:

1- the hotel did not change the bedsheets of our room prior to our arrival. They checked us in to a room with dirty bedsheets.

2- the toilette bowl was dirty when we got at the room.

3- I had to beg for clean bedsheets, towels and pillows.

4- I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The first problem started with the waiter master (Adao ?) a very rude guy: I said \"good morning\" and asked for your name he in turn asked my room number I replied: \"Good morning what is your name \" Since I was going to stay a month I would like to know the names of the people. Well, he replied that he was not obligated to give his name, but when I told him that he was very impolite and that I was going to file a complaint with his manager, he ended up giving his name. The second problem is the pool, which looks like a small tank. The third problem is the lack of water in some apartments. Logically, I leave the hotel going to another one of the same chain, where I've already been for a month, the Atlantico Copacabana in Siqueira Campos, the people who work there are great. I hope my apartment will be ready soon so I don't have to use hotels anymore. O primeiro problema começou com o garçon metre (Adao ?) um cara muito mau educado: eu dei\" bom dia \"e perguntei o seu nome ele por sua vez perguntava o numero do meu quarto eu respondia : \"Bom dia qual e o seu nome\" ja que eu ia ficar um mes eu gostaria de saber o nome das pessoas. Bom ele me respondeu que nao era obrigado de dar o seu nome mas quando falei que ele um cara de muita falta de educacao e que eu iria fazer uma reclamacao para o seu gerente, acabou dando o seu nome. O segundo problema e a piscina que parece um tanque de tao pequena . O terceiro problema e a falta de agua em alguns apartamentos. Logicamente que sai .

O apto pequeno para 3 pessoas não tinha ventilação direta nem o banheiro tinha exaustor o que deixa umido e abafado. As roupas de cama e toalhas velhas e foi dificil pedir troca das toalhas. O cartão chave da porta desmagnetizava a todo instante. Para deixar mala na recepção tem que pagar taxa de 30 reais. Elevadores não dão conta do movimento. Piscina pequena. Localização e café da manhã bons.

La première chambre qui m'a été attribuée était sale, pleine de poussière, sans draps avec un bruit infernal digne d'une salle de machines industrielle au 1er etqge. Impossible de dormir où y rester dans cette chambre. Le lendemain après avoir demandé, à trois reprises une solution un monsieur a débloqué la situation et on m'a attribué une chambre au 14ème plus propre.
La dame qui fait le ménage au 14ème très aidante. Merci à elle qui a répondu à mes demandes.
L'hôtel est assez délabré, les joints pleins de champignons.les portes vitrées qui ferment à peine. Murs très sales, même les portes de l'ascenseur sont dégoûtantes.

Infelizmente tivemos uma péssima estadia no hotel. Na primeira noite o ar condicionado não funcionou, não gelava. Pedi pela manuntencao - não tinha. Pedi outro quarto - não tinha. Pedi um ventilador - não tinha. Ou seja, primeira noite horrível após chegar de voo cansativo e com conexão, só queríamos dormir. Hotel super lotado, acredito muito que não se qualificou o suficiente para atender a demanda do carnaval. Pedi Yan possibilidade de um checkou tardio levando em consideração todo o transtorno do primeiro dia, e adivinha?! Não deram . Tive que fechar + diária só pra sair às 18h do mesmo dia. Ah trocaram de quarto e a porta emperrou fiquei mais 40 min esperando manutenção pra abrir a porta e Wise perco o voo . Enfim, acredito muito que faltou preparo do hotel para o período do carnaval. Não voltaria em datas com grande demandas a esse hotel. Esse é o meu relato!

Quarto estava organizado e limpo. Funcionaria da rouparia/camareira mt atenciosa, recepcionistas tb.
Minha “crítica” é só a estrutura que o hotel poderia proporcionar, pela sua grandiosidade.
Exemplo: manter a piscina limpa,

Værelset var som en celle uden vindue, nøglen til værelset fungerede kun i ca. 20 timer ad gangen og elevatorerne var voldsomt langsommelige.

Quarto impecável. Equipe de limpeza excelente. Cida, da limpeza, extremamente gentil e educada. Recepção deixa a desejar em alguns atendentes, que são ignorantes.

Pode melhorar o café da manhã. Talvez aumentar o intervalo de café da manhã. Fica formando fila no hall de entrada.

Colocar o elevador de serviço como elevador social. Estava sem luz adequada também. Tem pouco elevador pra muita gente.

Colocar ventilador nos elevadores. Muito quente no verão.

Fazer a troca todos os dias das toalhas de banho. Pelo menos as toalhas de banho. E não fazer a troca de 2 em 2 dias.
