We were very happy to find this hotel with Rio being such a busy place for the New Year's celebrations. We were welcomed to the hotel by an English speaking concierge, which was a BIG BONUS! Then, we were able to check in early which was another plus. Both rooms were clean and adequate. Plenty of hot water and the a/c was very cold. We highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely re-book on our return trip to beautiful Rio.

The staff were great. Unfortunately my first room had no Wi-Fi so the manager was kind enough to move me to a different room the second day. He upgraded me because of the inconvenience. Unfortunately it was the same problem. It seemed like the entire building was struggling with the Wi-Fi. The beds were rockhard. I would suggest to the cleaning staff to clean under the beds. But overall, I was happy. If the Wi-Fi would’ve worked, I would’ve called it. Excellent value for the money. If you stay here, you have to go get the filet mignon from the restaurant. If you ask for it medium rare, they make it perfect. I spent almost 2 months in Brazil and that steak both times I got it was in the top five steaks I’ve had ever in my life.

Every time I come t Rio I stay at this hotel, Not only it is conveniently located (3 blocks from Copacabana beach and a metro (subway) station right across from it), the eatery options are almost endless.

Staff is great and of course the free breakfast is good. Room rates at great value allows you too keep more of your money to spend shopping.

Location, location, location!! Great hotel!

Overall it was a fantastic stay during Carnaval week. The staff was friendly and helpful and breakfast everyday was good!

The biggest takeaway was the location. It was very centrally located and the area surrounding was very safe. You could be at Copacabana beach within 10 mins walking and on the way, you’ll pass many good restaurants, supermarket and bars.

The rooftop pool was nice but depending on the occupancy of the hotel, it could get dirty quickly. The fitness center and elevator could use updating but those are minor things that wouldn’t deter me from returning!

Definitely looking forward to staying again at Premier Copacabana!

This is a hotel that probably felt very modern some 30 years ago.
While they’re in the process of updating their elevator, the new ones also feel old. If that was the extent of it, that’d be fine as some people may enjoy the retro.
However, for most of our stay none of the guest elevators and all guests had to resort to the cargo elevator, making it unpleasant and inconvenient as long lines of people waited to be crammed in that box.
On top of that, the linens on our bedroom were frayed and the safe was broken.
The room also wasn’t very comfortable, with a spring mattress, bad pillows and a tiny shower head.
The included breakfast was also a sad array in a very crammed dining room.
While the price for this hotel is in average with others in Copacabana, I would highly recommend against it as I don’t feel I got my money’s worth.

On the positive side, this is really close to subway and in a less busy street within Copacabana, so in the quieter side compared to some other options.

GREAT LOCATION AND STAFF

The Premier Copacabana is my go-to hotel when I am in Rio. It is perfectly located near shops, the metro, restaurants and the beach. The staff and the front desk personnel are phenomenal, plus, they are willing to help in any way possible. The breakfast selections are very good, while the waiters in the hotel restaurant are friendly and attentive.

Premier Copacabana hotel review

Premier Copacabana is an excellent hotel. The location is conveniently across the street from the METRO. The room was clean. The breakfast was good. The staff was helpful. The only minor issues with my room (#506) were the middle window's latch was loose. It had 2 phillips set screws that need to be tightened. The shower door didn't fully close so the 2 door hinges should be replaced. I will stay there again the next time I visit Rio.

The hotel offers good WiFi and bathrooms. The AC was also great, which I really liked. My only complaint was the rude behavior of the “manager.” I thought he was the main security guard because of his attitude. Usually, managers want to ensure a pleasant stay for their guests, but this wasn’t the case. Additionally, the elevators were out of order for half of the time. Despite these issues, I would still recommend the hotel. Just skip the manager with the gray suit.

A Hotel In A Great Location

My many stays at the Premier Copacabana have always been pleasant and comfortable. The hotel's location is fantastic for walking to neighborhood restaurants, the beach, Cambio establishments and the subway system. Kudōs to the desk staff, hotel restaurant help and the hard-working chamber maids and maintenance. Premier Copacabana Hotel is my go to hotel when I visit Rio.

The Premier Copacabana Hotel is situated in an excellent location. It is within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and the beach. Moreover, the Metro station is only one (1) block away from the hotel. Breakfast is plentiful with an array of food choices to select. Registration was swift and easy. This hotel's prime location, nestled in the heart of Copacabana made it a convenient choice for exploring the lively culture of Rio. The staff's warm welcome and attentiveness added a touch of hospitality to our stay. We were there to bring in the New Year, and they even gave us tips and warnings on staying safe during our stay. The hotel's rooftop pool and bar area offered a spectacular panoramic view of the city. The breakfast buffet showcased a variety of local and international dishes, catering to different tastes and preferences. However, a notable hiccup occurred when the hot water in the shower suddenly stopped working on several occasions. On a positive note, the hotel staff did grant us an extremely late check out, due to us having late outgoing flights. Overall, it was a good experience.

Not worth the price you pay ! Rooms are very clean but basic, with a very old air conditioning. The TV sounded as if it was having a short circuit. I checked in at around 19:00. At 20:00 I called reception to report the fault and ask for someone from maintenance to repair and was informed they had nobody at night . This morning I’ve reported the problem . Someone came up at 8 and said they would ask someone to replace it. It’s now 11:10 and I have to check out 12:00 and nothing has been done.

Could have been better. There was a red stain on the comforter in my room, which they did not remove after i had told them about it. Then, they charge you for the bottle waters that they put on the inside of your refrigerator in the room. If they would install water fountains, that fee could be avoidable. Not to mention, you have to keep the hot water running in the shower for 5 minutes in order for the water to start coming out hot.

Day people check great polite speak english. Nigjt shift porteria was a real turd and ass rude!!!! Was out late with friends and one lives really far away and wanted to crash in my room. Yes female. And the porteria wanted to charge me 927 Real for her to stay the night which is almost 3 1/2 tje cost of my room. He did nothing to help us but wanted 927 Real. I would of paid for anorher room but not 927 Real. Cheaper to uber here home. Poor poor service. Skip the foid from kitchen to. Not good quality food. Fries dead, and a cheap box hamburger. Rooms, pool sauna view great!

Check in was terrible. Think i was racially profiled upon entering. Had all documents readable on y phone for security purposes but hotel clerk said was unacceptable. Only relented and agreed to let me register when i showed my drivers license to another employee standing nearby. Furthermore, upon entering the lobby me and a guest were met with complete awkard silence.no evening greeting or even a gello. Only demands for my documents and of whether or not i had a reservation. I informed him three times that i did before he finally looked for it. Worst hotel experience in my hostory of travels.

Amazing location, everything was absolutely ok. Great value I should say! I liked the room - thanks for allocating me on the top floor with the nice city view !!! The room was always clean and tidy. Breakfast was nice. Amazing location. Even I prefer Ipanema this hotel is steps from metro and to get a taxi to Ipanema is very quick and cheap. Stuff was a bit too serious. Come on this is holidays, carnival time - be more friendly and smiley ;) thanks anyway! I really enjoyed !

I was charged for early check in. The hotel is clean, but a little out-dated. My friend was not allowed to come up to my room one evening. So, I called the front desk to give her permission. The desk person said she wasn’t allowed up, because I booked a room for one person. I explained that we were on our way out, but I was getting dressed. He then threatened to call the police. She came up anyway. We left & never saw police. Not sure what that was all about. I should be able to take guests to my room.

Solidly Basic but good for NYE

I was let down when I arrived at this hotel-the pictures give it a 'newness' glaze that is definitely not present in real life. They did redo most of the interior of the rooms. But the rest of the hotel is very outdated. I think visitors from the US would have to adjust their expectations before coming here. For various reasons, we were moved to 3 different rooms (not really the fault of the hotel) and saw a range of conditions. The first bathroom had lots of mold and a moldy showercurtain--with holes cut out of the ceiling and covered with weird grates--but the work was unfinished. The last room we were given was completely redone and did not look shabby. The other let down was the rooftop pool. Although the view of the Christ was amazing, the water was murky and there were so few chairs most people were standing around hoping for someone to move.
Pros-right across the street from the subway and a short walk to Copacabana beach for the fireworks
a hearty (included) breakfast buffet that was very good
Good water pressure and enough hot water
Cons-overall appearance of property, disappointing pool area, and uneven customer service. One guy was really accommodating, but others wouldn't give us extra towels at nighttime (they were locked up?) and another tried to tell us that he couldn't give us extra pillows (each double bed only came with two?) For someone with chronic pain, being able to not have extra neck pain is crucial, not a luxury.

Great location and access to transportation. Only 1 elevator was working, leading to long wait. Concierge was efficient but arrogant. Nice rooftop pool and gym. Any occasional guest day visitor is charged R$92. Nice breakfast. Staff doesn’t always use the words “Good morning”, “excuse me”, or “thank you”. Great price and quick checkout. Superior room has wardrobe, but no drawers.

Most of the staff were helpful but they vary.
The room looked ok but the phone when I went to call reception was filthy! The bathroom mirror was also not cleaned and the floor not done properly. The plumbing system is extremely loud and disturbing. Breakfast was good.

I so want to give this hotel a good review, but I can't. It's in a great location. That's the one thing it has going for it. It is literally across a small street from a metro station, and just a few easy walking blocks from the world famous Copacabana Beach. Unfortunately, this hotel is not one I would recommend to friends. My main complaint is the bed. IF you like a SUPER firm bed, this might not be an issue for you. However, I don't believe I've ever slept on a more uncomfortable bed in my life. I feel like sleeping on the concrete floor would have been about the same. The rooms are old and definitely showing their age. Breakfast leaves a bit to be desired as well. It is served in a small room for the capacity of the hotel - hard to find a place to eat if you're there at the wrong time. I picked out a croissant, but was unable to eat it due to there being raw dough in the middle (woefully undercooked), and the eggs were so runny I opted not to get any. One last complaint would be the cleanliness of the bathroom. Doesn't appear to have been cleaned. I have very blond hair, and after we'd put the floor towel on the floor, you could see wads of long black hair, NOT mine. Ick. For the positives, the standard/free wi-fi was completely adequate. And Vinny, one of the front desk guys was the highlight of this place! He was super helpful throughout our stay. The view from the pool is spectacular,can see the Redeemer statue.

Too far from Atlantica Beach Blvd where Beach is

Check in Agent was a polite accomodating male that spoke English and explained facilities to my Driver and gave me 2 keys for my Driver to use to bring me my water and other refrigerant liquids I wud consume not owned by hotel. On Christmas eve a Brazilian Female friend came to pick me up with gifts I had for son at her condominium apartment and was assumed she was a hooker coming to stay in my room, INSULTED by OWNER/MANAGER who was at front desk when she asked for my room. He looked at room accomodation that listed 1 and instructed on duty agent to charge $100 to my room. Friend called from lobby telling experience and I told the agent who she was and I needed her assistance to bring down Red Santa Bag with gifts. I was angry when told. I went down with gift bags and told agent of Insult and he explained that owner was at desk and said to charge, He said to me, Sir I only work here. I checked out of Hotel 2 days after, loosing my room payment up to 1/2/17 and had to argue to take off the $100 charge by asking for Manager that I loudly told I was the onl person that slept in room and had been gone for 2days after the xmas eve Insult. My driver moved me to another Hotel Progressive where staff knows me and accomodations and location to beach1-1/2 blks are GREAT. Will never again book Hotel thru Travelocity because of this.

Lovely hotel in Copa

Lovely hotel in Copa!We were promptly checked-in without delays and the front desk clerk(Vinicius) was nice,friendly and very attentive!I requested a room far away from the elevator and he placed us in a very quite and private room.Room service was fast and very efficient.The breakfast buffet and food serving staff(Helio specially) were wonderful!I requested a light feature to be replaced in the hallway, as I was walking to the pool, and they did it right away.We also requested extra pillows and it took less than 10 minutes..Swimming pool and fitness area were very good and definitely a plus that helped us choose this hotel!Overall a great experience and I will be staying there again for sure!

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel, the only problem which is not a big deal but I noticed that the toilet had a smell, but overall I loved it and I would book his hotel again :)

Nice hotel, large rooms, good breakfast, great staff, great location, metro across the street. Beach less than three blocks. Safe area.
