The space was beautiful it was the lack of comfort. I stayed my last night and ended up being in the lobby for the last 3 hours of my stay because the room was a sauna. hen i called the front desk they stated that there was nothing they could do being that there was no extra rooms. So I waited in the lobby where the temp was tolerable. After i had to pay for the items consumed (water due to the excessive heat) and when i paid the front desk staff tried o short me $R40, when i told them they swore that maybe i made a mistake. That was impossible especially cause he handed me te $ I counted and immediately approached him when I noticed the error. I wasn’t able to enjoy my breakfast that i paid or in my reservation. This hotel is also not conveniently close to the beach as other hotels that were a éter stay, this would be a last resort for me, you can find better.

Hotel room full of cockroaches, keycards never worked to the rooms, the breakfast was terribke, elevator was terrible, not allowed to bring guests back so my friends couldn’t even stay, the air con was awful and generally a waste of money.

I didn’t see the reviews and I wish that I would’ve.

The staff was good but the hotel is in terrible condition. It has roaches and they know it but it’s like normal to them. They want to spray the room when you’re not there. Their wifi only works in the lobby. The key cards stop working all the time.

Well maintained, clean and quiet hotel (We had a room facing away from busy street). Obliging and helpful staff. Good security. Small pool on roof with excelling view. 6 min. walk to metro and supermarket. Many restaurants in area. Very good buffet breakfast.

Unfortunately, my stay was disappointing. There was no toilet paper, the Wi-Fi did not work, and the bathroom had mold and was very dark. The mattress was old and smelled unpleasant. Additionally, my guest was not allowed to come upstairs just to wait for me, which has never happened in any other hotel I’ve visited in Brazil or abroad.

Overall, my stay at this property was an average experience. The highlight of my visit was breakfast, thanks to a humble and well-mannered young gentleman who works in the breakfast area each morning. His professionalism and courteous demeanor truly stood out - commendations to him.

However, I believe the hotel could improve in terms of transparency regarding additional charges for certain amenities, such as consuming beverages from the in-room minibar. Clearer communication about these potential costs would be appreciated, especially for English-speaking guests who may not be familiar with the policies.

What I will say about the Royalty Copacabana is that the staff was very nice to me. I also like the location. I happened to get a room overlooking the mountain which was gorgeous. Additionally, the continental breakfast was generous. What I did not like was that there were roaches (and not the tropical roaches that cannot be avoided). Additionally, the Wi-Fi was almost inoperable which was scary because I had work to do. Additionally, the room finishes are quite outdated, with limited sockets and no usb ports. The fitness center was not accessible during my stay.

Roaches everywhere! I never been in a hotel that had roaches crawling on the bed at night ! Crawling from the mirror and the backboard by the bed area ! It was extremely hard to sleep there knowing this was an issue. I stood there for two days and when me and my guest brought this up to the front desk clerk, they made an excuse talking about they are surrounded by trees! They gave us roach spray that was half way empty! They refused to get us some credit or to even have a person look into the problem. The pool look dirty , you could have barely see the bottom of it … the gym isn’t even working .. the equipment was broken! In all my hotel experiences this was far from the worst treatment I’ve experienced… and if you book here just be ready to sleep with roaches crawling in your luggages.

- there is no room service and soap property;
- staff are rude about room service.

I also had a big problem there. On my check out a staff member told my partner and I ...that on the check in. They did charge less and we had to fix there mistake (this was after 3 days that we where there). I didnt accept his mistake... was there problem. Sorry! I had an international fight and if they had made a mistake... is because the staff has no training or attention.

Be aware of this hotel service. I really dont recommend.
- no room service;
- staff are rude;
- payment in a wrong way.

Hotel entrance was nice but once we got to the room it was dirty and filthy! There were 2 cockroaches but when we contacted the stuff they said it was normal. The shower were dirty and I didn’t want to step a foot inside we were scared of fungus and contagious deseases. They didn’t provided a charged due to the outlets are different, they refused a late check out, they charged us money to keep the luggage’s for a late pick up, overall an awful experience and I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Staff unhelpful - ask anything “ wait for manager who starts work at 09:00-can’t help you “ don’t care if your tour starts before , Holes in the wall 2ft hole exposed to out behind loud air conditioner, toilet -> You can hear others & inappropriate sounds coming thro as top ceiling of the toilet is a grill - not sure if others can actually see you !! Hear people all the time / plus bedroom wall paper thin- hear phones ringing next door !- Privacy ?

Little or no proper charging unit in room
They ring you incessantly 1/2 hour before check out time.

People at the front desk don’t care about the cuatomer, after a long flight I was ready to get some rest, Front desk don’t do nothing to help out with early check in, there were a lot of ppl waiting to check in, they told us to wait till 3pm, We waited, but by the time was 3pm there were 2 guests that arrive that time, and rhey get their rooms before all the people that were waiting for more than 2 hours. My room wasn’t ready because they’re “cleaning it “ when I get to the room bathroom dirty, I found other people hair in the sink, shower was leaking, glassdoor was with water,
I stepped out next day, I came back to the room it wasn’t cleaned, I saw the lady on my floor, I went down to the lobby, almost 2 hours down there, I went up again, my room was still not cleaned, I called the front desk to get some towels, soap and shampoo, I told them not to clean anymore, I needed some rest.

Would think twice before I stay there again!

I was asked to wait till 3 pm to check in, front desk allowed a couple to check in sooner. That left me with a bitter taste about the place. The bathroom had no toilet paper. The excercise room was inoperable the whole time I was there. I had asked for a single bed and was given twin beds. Breakfast was good but the plates for the main entre werebread plates making it difficult to get any food on the plate.

Check-in: fast, very good, great staff at desk early evening. Late night staff were incredibly rude, tossed cash at me when I asked for change after buying a water bottle.
- Cleanliness: lobby is ok, elevator and other areas leading to my room smell like mould/very old carpet, room was ok but shower was dirty with hair stuck to the walls and a blocked drain. Very unpleasant.
- Wi-Fi: flaky at best, doesn't always work but enough to read emails and write a review.
- Room: air-con does not work! Too small for this room size, temperature in the room was over 30 degrees all night. I tried different settings, the thing just can't cope, might as well just let me open the windows. Power fittings in the bathroom falling off, electrocution hazard.
- Noise: not too bad, a bit of background noise from the streets.
Location: I can see the sea and could walk down to the beach in about 5 minutes, nice neighbourhood

Very nice hotel - good price, excellent location near Metro and Copacabana Beach.

Staff very accommodating and handled by late booking very professionally.

Nice restaurant and good breakfast.

Only downside is the internet in the room does not work but there is a pc in the lobby.

Checkin was terrible. I had my expedia confirmation in an e-mail and they claimed not to have it on their reservation system. The staff at the front desk was not nice at all. I had to call Expedia from a borrowed phone to have someone from Expedia call the hotel. Finally the hotel ackowledged they had the reservation.

The hotel looks old. It seem to want to keep a 4 star rating by having bellboys and a pool while having very old and poorly renovated facilities. The room was poorly decorated. Beth clothing was terrible. A/C was an old window type.

My flight arrived early in the morning i know check in time was 2pm when everyone has checked out for the day and given time to clean the room that i understand.when i arrived at the hotel they don't have my confirmation number and the front desk don't speak english not even a complimentary coffee like other hotels.the room is ok but the bedsheets are not big enough to cover the bed when you wake up in the morning you are already sleeping on the mattres .breakfast is ok since it's only coffee that ineed. Noise level you can hear the conversation from ur next room.my safety deposit box is broken and i have to keep my passport and money with me all the time.

Everything is broken and everything comes at extra

Everything is broken; got stuck in the lift, the TV didn't work, balcony door broken and could not close, there was no more coffe at breakfast at 9am, $5 to get a shirt ironed and it took them 2 hours, internet cost R$10 a day, bathroom was very dirty, they all the time tried to make us pay for extra services, I got so tired of it! I have stayed in so many nice hotels in Rio, and this is far the worse. Avoid.

Ao chegarmos ao hotel, encontramos a cortina do quarto quebrada e caída sobre a mesa. Comunicamos imediatamente à recepção por telefone. Um funcionário subiu, tirou fotos e orientou que também registrássemos imagens do frigobar, sob a justificativa de que o hotel costuma cobrar itens indevidamente. Informou que verificaria a possibilidade de troca de quarto. Após 45 minutos sem retorno, fui pessoalmente à recepção e fui informado de que o gerente não autorizaria a troca. Foi dito, inclusive, que, caso houvesse mudança, o custo da diária sairia do bolso do recepcionista — o que revela desorganização administrativa e falta de profissionalismo. A internet não funciona nos quartos e, na recepção, é instável e oscila constantemente. O ar-condicionado é extremamente barulhento, comprometendo o descanso. A televisão disponibiliza apenas poucos canais abertos, com imagem chuviscando, semelhante à antiga TV analógica. O café da manhã também deixou a desejar, com bolos e pães aparentando ser do dia anterior, comprometendo a qualidade do serviço oferecido. O check-out ocorre às 11h. Presenciei um casal sendo cobrado por uma diária integral em razão de um atraso de apenas 10 minutos, situação que gerou discussão no balcão. A experiência evidencia falhas estruturais, deficiência na gestão e desrespeito ao padrão mínimo esperado de hospedagem.

Atendimento péssimo, o checkout às 11 horas, e a atendente começou ligar às 10 horas no quarto, informando que teríamos que sair pontualmente às 11 horas, se passasse 1 min, iria cobrar outra diária.
Saímos conforme o previsto do quarto, ao esperar o elevador, qdo chegamos na recepção, insistiram para cobrar a nova diária, pq havia passado 2 min.

O hotel é extremamente inflexível. Ao chegarmos as 13h30 fomos informados que não era possível fazer o check-in antes das 14h. No momento do check-in, fomos informados com forte entonação que caso saíssemos passando um minuto do momento do checkout, seria cobrada uma diária a mais.
Todas as vezes que saíamos e voltávamos ao hotel, o recepcionista dizia que era necessário conferir os hóspedes e magnetizar a chave novamente, pois de acordo com ele, qdo vamos a rua e voltamos, a chave desmagnetiza (o que sabemos que não é vdd).
A porta principal do hotel não abre automaticamente, sendo sempre necessário auxílio de um colaborador para entrarmos.
Ja me hospedei em centenas de hotéis e jamais vi tamanho assédio com os hóspedes desta maneira. Jamais voltaria e não recomendo.

El aire acondicionado de la primera habitación que me asignaron no funcionaba en absoluto, en un contexto de sensación térmica cercana a los 38 °C. Tuve que insistir de manera firme para que se realizara el cambio de habitación, ya que el supuesto gerente no daba ninguna respuesta ni solución.

El proceso tomó alrededor de tres horas. Incluso tuve que permanecer frente a la recepción y dejar claro que no me movería hasta que resolvieran la situación. Finalmente realizaron el cambio, pero la experiencia deja la impresión de que este tipo de problemas son recurrentes y que el personal está acostumbrado a no atenderlos con la urgencia que merecen los huéspedes.

Hablé con otros huéspedes y varios me comentaron que vivieron la misma situación; a algunos de ellos no los cambiaron de habitación sino hasta la una de la madrugada. En general, fue una experiencia desgastante que pudo y debió resolverse con mayor eficiencia y atención.
Es triste saber que el huésped es visto como el problema y no como un aliado qué gracias a nosotras el hotel existe y tienen trabajo.

Não houve o fornecimento de sabonetes para banho, chegamos na sexta e utilizamos os sabonetes existentes, no sábado o sabonete acabou e solicitamos a reposição, no domingo ao chegarmos da praia, passamos novamente na recepção e reiteramos o pedido de sabontes, mesmo assim não houve o fornecimento. Para não atrasarmos o checkout tomei banho utilizando o meu shampoo.

Voy a enviar correo, me hicieron perder un día de vacaciones, intente cambiar de Hotel y nadie me pudo guiar para el regreso de mi dinero... pesimo.. elevador parecia que ia cair a qualquer momento, eu tinha um mini infarto toda vez que usava, encontrei uma barata no meu quarto, a equipe super atenciosa, a cama podia ser mais confortável.
tirando isso, amei a estadia.

Assim que entrei no quarto falei que o abajour estava piscando e do lado direito da coma não acendia, o banheiro estava com uma poça na entrada, ninguem veio arrumar.
No dia seguinte reclamei novamente e o pior era a discarga que disparava , aí veio a manutenção e arrumou tudo. A discarga nao melhorou, vieram novamente, só no ultimo dia que nao tive mais problema.
Outra coisa é o check in que pedem uma calção de 400 reais, estornam na saida, nunca tive isso em nenhum hotel.

Pontos positivos: Localização boa, poucas quadras da praia e funcionários da recepção bons. Pontos negativos: Café da manhã médio para mal, usam os itens mais baratos possíveis para potencializar o lucro, a exemplo do chá chinezinho, que uma caixa cheia é 3 reais, pães duros, sequer há grill. Mas o mais grave foi o funcionário da limpeza entrando no quarto antes do horário de check-out sem qualquer aviso, há uma pressão enorme para a saída até as 11h, avisaram umas 4 vezes, mas o pior realmente foi a entrada no quarto sem autorização, o que deve refletir a política do hotel.
