The pool needs some serious love, daily cleaning and new water! As does the outdoor furniture and space. The staff from the front door to cafeteria to cleaning lady were all extremely nice and helpful. Area is fantastic! Thanks for a fabulous vacation!

Very noisy, could not sleep the hole night cars and motorcycles buzzing, also lots of conversations on my floor from 6am. To get worst, I had to deal with the disappointment of my kids when they saw the swimming pool, completely green and completely different from the picture posted on Expedia. I have both pictures saved in case you want to see with your own eyes. I asked for a higher room and opposite to the street but they only had 1 room facing the street. On the end I asked them to end my booking 2 days ahead of the original day but they refused to refund me for these last 2 unused days. I simply checked out without any refund and will now check with a lawyer how to approach this situation. They destroyed my final days in Rio de Janeiro.

I had a somewhat nice stay. I accidentally left a necklace behind and the hotel confirmed they have it but won’t respond to any messages about getting it returned to me. I’ve offered to pay all costs but no response. Very disappointing

Location is convenient. Close to the beach. Copa is somewhat seedy but not to bad. Hotel older but they have upgraded some rooms that are suitable. Gotta make sure they don’t put you in one that’s older. I’d give it 3 1/2 stars

My review will reflect on previous reviews. I'll start with the cons. The bed wasn't comfortable. The air conditioning is noisy. You can hear traffic and people talking outside all day and late into the evening. The hot water water was off for a few hours but they fixed the issue. Now rhe pros. Great location and many places to eat within walking distance. It's two blocks from the beach. Breakfast was included, that was a plus also. If you're on a budget and you want to be close to the beach then it will be worth it to you versus the beachfront hotel's and apartments. I won't be staying there on my next trip here, think I'll go with the Hilton instead.

Great location close to the beach shops and restaurants .easy to walk to other main beaches with bikes and scooters readily available.
All staff helpful and friendly
Room cleaned daily and no problems but i did make full use of the room safe

Definitely not a 4 star hotel
Rooms are extremely dated, beds are not comfortable, showers are not inviting. This place is not as advertised. We saw the room and booked novotel in leme straight away. Best decision ever made was to change location immediately.

The hotel is located at the corner of 2 streets and all rooms are facing one or the other. It is noisy day and night. The furniture is very old but from massive genuine wood. A good thing is that there was lots of drawers and hangers for clothes. The room was serviced dayly and the cleanliness was good. All staff in the hotel were nice and helpful, i couldn't ask for more from them. Breakfast was nice, except the juices which were of the lowest quality. Location can't be better and the price I payed was very good but it is really only for people who can tolerate noise as it really is there all the time.

DONT STAY HERE - CLEANERS STEAL FROM YOUR BAGS

I’ve emailed the hotel and have yet to gain a response. After checking out of the hotel, we noticed that some money and one of our credit cards had been stolen. We have been travelling South America for 5 weeks and haven’t had anything like this! They have used the card twice before we blocked it in Rio!!!! (We only stayed at this hotel)We kept that card in our room hidden in a backpack along with some pounds for emergency’s. We are so so thankful it was at the end of our holiday so there wasn’t much to take. I’ve never written a bad review or had anything like this done in a hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE - AVOID IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR BELONGINGS! We are so upset the cleaner had gone through our belongings as it was well hidden in two different compartments, so incredibly dishonest, sneaky and disappointing - I wish we chose somewhere else to stay, completely ruined Rio for us!

I wouldn't stay here again..

Location is good. Two blocks away from the beach and stores. However, hotel staff wasn't friendly. They did not clean the toom or changed the towels in the room unless you begged them. Food in the hotel and restaurants aroumd it are SUPER overpriced! DO NOT think its common to spend over 100$ in one meal in Brazil because IT IS NOT! Hotel staff wanted to make money on all excursions like Cristo and Pao de acucar and for that reason they didnt want to explain how to get there properly w/o the excursions.. Find another hotel that will give you a better service for the price..

Our stay was very pleasant. The hotel staff was extra courteous and helpful with suggestions and booking tours around Rio de Janeiro. The rooms were impeccable clean. The shower/bathroom was well oversized and kept clean. The beds were very comfortable. Quiet neighborhood at night, vibrant and busy during the day. Most of everything is located within walking distance. Two blocks from Copacabana Beach. Excelente restaurants around. The breakfast served by the hotel was incredible rich in selection and quality. Definitely will return there and recommend it to all my friends and family.

No Frills Budget Place To Stay!!

One block from Copacabana Beach, located in a good spot. The only room with a/c is the actual bedroom. Small entrance area with table and chairs, which I didn't use. When I was in the room, I spent the majority of my time in bedroom where the air conditioning and TV are. I suppose if you bring food back to the room, you can utilize the other area. Good size bathroom with shower only. Breakfast buffet was GREAT! I think that was the best part of the stay!

Clean, well situated budget hotel

We landed in Rio very early and the hotel was very accommodating. They were able to check us in early and even upgraded us to a bigger room with a king sized bed. The hotel is also about a 5 minute walk to Copacabana beach. The breakfast buffet was also really good - there were lots of food options to chose from. The room itself was clean but the walls are very thin so you can hear other people`s conversations outside your room.

The hotel was good, the staff friend and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and easy.
The area felt safe though I think next time we'd prefer a hotel closer to the beach.
The rooms were a little small but fairly comfortable. Bathrooms rather small too. Good wifi. Decent breakfast.

The hotel and room are adequate. The mattress had stains on it, so don't look under the sheets. Other than that, stuff seemed pretty clean. Don't expect too much and you'll be fine. The location is good - right near the beach, the metro station, and you can walk to the Leme Fort. I probably wouldn't stay here again unless they had cheaper rates than elsewhere.

A disappointment for the price in that area.

Room was tiny, with poor condition furniture. Air conditioner could barely keep up and was very noisy. (Outside was on 26 deg.)
You could not borrow an iron, all pressing had to go to the laundry with associated costs. Gym was a closet with 2 running machines touching each other. Staff did not really offer any good advice on where to eat when asked, only recommended a place they obviously partneredas they stamped a card with the hotel name to get your discount.
The windows had no sound proofing
The A/C did not reach the bathroom.
The place in in serious need of a makeover.
However housekeeping did it's best to keep the room clean.

Decent hotel, short walk to the Copacapana beach

I stayed in their 13th floor single bed room for a couple of days, being with better places, but for the price, it's a good option, very quite and clean, good for one to two people. It's only a short walk away from the beach. The staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful, the buffet breakfast is pretty good too.

Best for a couple, or one or two people.

This hotel was 2 short blocks to the beach and has a pool too. The people there were very nice and very helpful. The air conditioner works great but you have to know how to turn it on. The switch is on the bed's headboard. It is very convenient to light switches. We enjoyed our time there. A large full breakfast was included with our room cost. We would stay here again.

The hotel was a 4* hotel, but this was not correct. '3* stor would be more than enough. The breakfast was not as good as in other 4''''star Brazilian hotels and the rooms were a little shabby and the sauna was not even lukewarm.. Still I will recommend the hotel for its magnificent location close to the beach and the very nice English-speaking staff in the reception!

O hotel não disponibiliza ferro da passar para obrigar as pessoas a contratar o serviço de passadeira do hotel.
Café da manhã muito cheio para um espaço bem pequeno.
O quarto estava limpinho e bem arrumado, deixo meu agradecimento a camareira ! O único problema no quarto é não ter cobertor disponível, apenas uma manta de solteiro bem fina por sinal, a manta não coube eu e meu namorado juntos por ser de solteiro.

A recepção não é muito boa falta um pouco de zelo no geral. A sensação é de que os funcionários estão sobrecarregados, eu arrurmei minha cama mais ou menos e mais ou menos ficou. A roupa de cama não parecia 100% limpa, em especial o cobertor. Eu fico lá por conta da localização que é excelente, os quartos que são grandes e o café é do jeito que gosto, variado!

A estadia no geral foi tranquila, o pessoal atencioso, o café da manhã tem variedade e o horário é bom, a partir das 6:00. A academia do hotel é muito pequena. A limpeza do quarto deixa um pouco a desejar. Outra observação importante é q não tem ferro de passar roupa, isso me incomodou um pouco, pq o hotel é grande e ferro eu acho um item básico. A localização é muito boa tbm. Recomendo.

O quarto quadruplo bem amplo, porem as fechaduras das portas nunca funcionam o cartao, no primeiro quarto que ficamos, a fechadura nao funcionava, cafe da manha ok, porem o espaço pequeno, chuveiro e otimo porem os ralos inundavam com facilidade. Boa localização.

Lamentablemente tuvimos muchos inconvenientes con el hotel: la habitación inicial, no era la que habíamos pedido. La segunda: nos salió una cucaracha y no servía el aire acondicionado. Además de que tomaron una bolsa de mano, cuando nos quejamos, casualmente apareció. La tercera: en segundo piso, sin aislante de sonido.
Las primeras dos noches, tomamos las botellas de agua del refrigerador, gran error, no nos dimos cuenta que las cobraban. No regalan ninguna botella. 8 reales cada una, y son de la botella pequeña.
Los elevadores no están en su mejor forma, a veces nos daba un paseo porque en lugar de bajar, subía.
Lo mejor: el desayuno bueno, con bastantes opciones. Y definitivamente, la ubicación. A dos cuadras de la Playa de Copacabana

Fui informado que o hotel estava em reforma. Deveria haver aviso no site, no momento da reserva. Meu quarto, 1403, teoricamente no 14º andar não era atendido por elevadores. Acho que o elevador chega até o 12º andar. Um lance de escadas de acesso à cobertura, onde há uma piscina e a sauna, depois mais um lance de escadas, que equivale a pelo menos mais um andar e meio. Existem 3 quartos naquele puxadinho. fui informado da localização no momento do checkin. Tive que prolongar a estadia e continuei no quartinho do puxadinho, porque mudar, dava trabalho.
