Hotel is very well located. Felt safe and was easy to get around copacabana. Room was very basic but comfortable. However, the walls are super thin and I had extremely loud neighbours the first night of my stay that woke me up. Breakfast was good with a varied selection but more should be done to keep flies away from the fruit/cheese station. Overall, it was a good stay.

I loved it here. the rooms are so comfy with great AC, and it feels like a mini apartment not a hotel (i just wish they had microwaves). The breakfast buffet is nice but the food doesn't taste very good or high quality. the location is 2 steps from the metro and just far enough from the beach that the street is quiet and cozy. I really loved my stay and would come back again!

The property is a 10 stories building and One of the elevators was not working. We had to wait literally 15 to 20 minutes to get in . They only provided 1 bath towel. No face or hand towels.
The location is very nice. Close to the beach and to the local commercial area.

Some members of the staff were truly helpful and on point. Breakfast was good. Our room was not sweapt after we had gone to the beach. No cups in the rooms to take pills every morning. Washed our clothes three times right across the street. Literally 2 blocks from the beach. Saw a guy getting robbed at the corner. Overall, it was convenient, but be careful.

Traveling for my first time in Rio and saw really good ratings on the hotel. Everything was good but not great. We were given a room with bunk beds at first then asked to be moved to the two twins like I booked and thankfully they were able to switch in spite of being full. The room looks much larger in photos. Very friendly staff and the location is prime to be at the beach in a few blocks. Overall satisfied just felt like the ratings on Expedia were higher than I thought for this level of hotel. If you’re looking to spend minimal time in the room and just a place to just crash this is your place.

O custo benefício é bom, porém não custa ser mais cordial com os hóspedes e oferecer um banheiro decente com uma ducha pra ser usado depois do checkout. Acredito que como eu, muitos hóspedes fazem o checkout e querem deixar as malas no hotel pra curtir uma praia até o final do dia. Na volta tomar uma ducha antes de ir embora.

Worst stay in 20 years of travel. Avoid!!

Horribly incompetent staff tried to short me on my stay, claiming hotels.com/expedia did not pay them. They made me call hotels.com rather addressing the internal, business to business matter themselves, insinuating it was my fault, despite my showing my reservation proving the length of my stay and my payment in full. When hotels.com staff called them, they failed to answer their phone. They wasted two hours of my day and ruined my final vacation day. In the end, the fault was theirs, but I received a shoulder shrug and thumbs-up rather than an apology. To add insult to injury, someone tried to enter my room without knocking first; when they realized I was in the room, they exited before I could identify them. Don't waste your time, risk your money, or risk your vacation.

I like the service the most! The staff were nice and very helpful with the request I asked.

the state of the room was less than the best. The toilet flush was partly covered with mold and the bedside table was oily. One of the lamp was also blown.

It might just be an unfortunate room for an otherwise pleasant stay though!

this is the second time we stayed at this hotel . Costumer service was even better than the first time. Location is a 5 -7 minute walk to the beach. There is a corner bakery that we absolutely love! Coxinha! overall great stay at Posto 2.

Good, Clean, Walkable to metro and many places. Close to many delicious restaurants. Great room price. We paid 130Reals for taxi from GIG airport to Ibis Posto2 which was too expensive, taxi driver might cheat on meter price. The way back to GIG airport we called taxi in front the hotel and just paid for 80Reals as we found a great guy who didn’t cheat the meter system.

lovely hotel close to Copacobana beach (less than 10 minutes) also very close to a RIO metro station giving you access to the city through a clean ,safe & efficient public service
the front desk was worked by a very efficient team , most of whom spoke fairly good English & they were very helpful

also better value than most of the other hotels in the vicinity

Decent neighborhood, although there must be some peeping toms in the apartment across the street because there are warning stickers on the windows to draw the curtains to protect your privacy LOL. Walking distance to everything!

Ibis Posto 2 Hotel is very small but you'll have everything you need. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful and made me feel welcome. My family and I were in separate hotels and they were super cool in helping all of us feel welcome. The hotel offers towels and beach umbrellas for free which is awesome and necessary!
I had great wifi in my room and I had a clean room.

We were at Ibis Posto 2 for the New Year's Eve 2017.
The hotel is only two blocks from Copacabana beach what make the firework experience easy...just a quick walk we were in the beach to enjoy the show. We recommend!

great location , close to the beach and shopping. Area feels safe and some bakeries open 24hrs nearby.
Front desk staff can speak some English so easy to check in and out.
However, only complaint i have is that when we requested for an adaptor to charge our phones ( room outlets note the hotel will provide the adaptor) , the front desk staff on duty said they don't have it and wished us luck in trying to find one around the area. Not helpful at all!
We tried another staff the next day and she was able to provide us with one with no issues. This would have saved my husband the frustration of trying to find one at the stores.
Would have given 5 stars if the staff was able to accomodate us or even assure us of one if a guest checks out.

Hotel was ok, but Expedia Sucked!

I payed for a room with 2 beds. Confirmed with Expedia when I booked my trip. The hotel has no rooms with 2 beds! I called Expedia and was on hold for an hour 3 separate times while in Brazil at international rates! No one responded! Nor called me back! Never the less, the hotel put me a mattress on the floor do me and my best friend wouldn't have to sleep in the same small bed! I WILL NEVER BOOK A HOTEL WITH EXPEDIA AGAIN! As many times as I have used Expedia, I have had problems on 3 occasions. But this final disappointment was he worst! EXPEDIA can go to Hell!

Found the place just what we were looking for. Easy to get one's bearings on the city's transportation services. Staff are efficient and friendly. Restaurant staff in particular are excellent in ensuring food items don't run out and that tables are always cleared quickly, particularly of note to Mr. Robson.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Rooms are small but for the money's worth. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast not included but only $9. Four blocks from Copa Cabana beach and close to all restaurants. Economical and comfortable. Security at hotel is awesome!

A pleasant but average hotel

Quite well located about two blocks back from Copacabana beach. The room was pretty well the same as any other moderately priced chain hotel. It was clean, but provided the bare minimum in the way of toiletries - one small soap and one shampoo which, considering there were two of us, seemed a bit inadequate. There were also just the two towels (no hand towels or floor mat). The front desk staff were pleasant, but did not not go out of their way to offer assisatance. The key card for the lifts took a bit of jiggling to make them work. On the positive side, the room was clean and quiet and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was extra and a bit pricey for what it was.

The hotel was ok. It was close to the beach.

The hotel room was very small, we were disappointed at first but then realized that it might be very usual in comparison to Rio. The breakfast was not that up to the mark. It was ok.

Stripped-down for value. But very good essentials.

A new, purpose-built hotel with somewhat stripped-down service which keeps the cost down.

The rooms are a bit small but perfectly comfortable, nice TV with plenty of channels, nice bathroom.

Only soap and shower gel and 1 towel each provided. No complimentary sewing kits or shoe polishing kits here. There is a hair dryer.

Phonecalls from the room are cheap.

There is no room service or minibar but the staff kindly invite you to stock the fridge yourself from the supermarket 'round the corner and 24-hour food/drink IS available but one must collect it onesself from the bar area. No biggie for me.

Staff are friendly and helpful and speak good English (for Brazil). They even offered to look after our luggage after check-out before we'd even asked! Chambermaids were also happy and friendly.

Overall, very good. I feel much more relaxed guzzling my own beer and scoffing my own bananas from the fridge whilst calling friends on the bedside phone -without worrying how much it is all going to cost!

Buffet breakfast sounded a bit steep at 16 real but it was very nice with all the usual stuff (from yoghurt to scrambled eggs). Orange juice was sweetened muck (only premium hotels offer freshly squeezed) BUT they had excellent fresh guava juice and the coffee was fine.

Superb location as well. Would deffo stay here if returning to Rio.

Oh yeah -free internet in reception plus free stable wifi in room. Bonus!

Good IBIS in Copacabana - Rio

A pretty good example of a decent well run IBIS hotel. Clean, modern, not many frills then that's not a problem as the price is good value for the location which is only a 5 min walk from Copacabana beachfront. Good hotel for a 3 to 4 day city break any longer then you would need a short stay apartment. The breakfast at only R$16 per person was really good value. Overall a good hotel offering good value for money.

The staff are great. There's always someone on reception who can speak English.

My first room was by a lift, so a bit noisy, but the bed sheets were still damp from the laundry. I asked to swap rooms, and they actioned this immediately, without any trouble.

My new room was a bit bigger, the sheets were dry, and it was away from the lift! However the rooms feels very humid until you put the air conditioning on. On the upside the rooms are new and clean, have a fridge and safe, so everything you need.

The hotel is close to Copacobana beach front, yet quiet.

I paid for breakfast, which was buffet style, and there was a decent spread. I have a dairy allergy, so I was really pleased to find they had soya milk and margarine so that I didn't have to go without.

I stayed there for one night which was fine, but I'm not sure I would recommend for a longer stay.

Depuis le carnaval, les quelques rues autour de l’hôtel n’ont plus d’électricité. De grosses génératrices ont été installées le long des rues, ce qui émet beaucoup de bruits. J’aurais aimé en être avisé avant mon arrivée. La climatisation des chambres était affectée par cette problématique. La situation de l’hôtel est parfaite, près de toutes les commodités. Le buffet déjeuner manquait d’un peu de variété, surtout pour un séjour de 7 nuits.
