Love spacious clean room and bathroom with lovely sea view. Staff all friendly and helpful.
We stayed bed & breakfast and the breakfast choice and quality was fantastic. Plenty space around the pool and the entertainment team were good fun. Cant wait to go back 😎

Seems to attract older generation of clientele who do not want any noise during the day. Even just quiet music would have been good.
Unless you go to where they are cooking the food ie : pasta stations the food isn’t kept hot enough so was always waiting for new trays to be added. The lady who prepares fresh omelettes is a whizz at them and lots of choices.
Overall hotel good just not for me & my daughter(27) we prefer livelier hotels like the Elba in Playa Blanca

Although I have given 5 stars for staff and service this is more a reflection upon the staff that are working very hard in what is clearly an understaffed hotel. This is not their fault and something that the management should be paying close attention to. All in all we had a really nice time and will be returning at some point

This is a beautiful hotel. We were very lucky to get an upgrade and the suite was spacious with a wonderful view overlooking the ocean. Only downside for us was the size of the hotel. We prefer smaller, boutique type hotels and this hotel is quit large. There is also limited places to eat (only one dining room) unless you want to walk to the nearby wharf.

I stated AI with my sister for a relaxing weekend. The rooms were spotless, with daily cleaning service. Breakfast was the standout meal with lots of choice and nice juices.

We received a complimentary two-hour spa entry, which was a great perk. If you're not all-inclusive, it’s well worth the €11 entry fee, as the spa offers a sauna, steam room, bubble jets etc. both inside and out pool. We also treated ourselves to a massage, which was excellent and reasonably priced.

The hotel has three pools not including the Spa- one is salt water. There was plenty of seating areas to relax. There are three bars, each offering a good selection of drinks, with the piano bar having the widest variety. It would be good to have had a menu so guests were aware what is included in the ‘all inclusive’.

The hotel is less than 10 minutes by car to Puerto del Carmen, we found a costal walk which takes about 45 mins with beautiful views or the hotel has a shuttle service, which runs frequently throughout the day. A taxi from the hotel to Puerto del Carmen costs around €8 and the hotel is conveniently located close to the airport, with a taxi ride costing approximately €25.
The staff were warm and welcoming throughout our stay, especially the reception team. Our flight was in the evening and we were allowed to use the AI until 6pm, which was so helpful.
I’d definitely return.

We had a fantastic stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel! We only came for 1 night but we had access to the facilities for 36 hours - it was brilliant. Plenty food to choose from as well as drinks! And the access to spa for 2 hours is an added bonus - couldn’t believe it!

1st time at the hotel for a two night stop, easy check in, stayed all inclusive, excellent value, great choice of food and drink. Great idea to give a free spa session if all inclusive. Good choice of swim pools and activities throughout the day, good evening entertainment, Friday morning market down at the harbour a bonus.

Arrived at reception to check in for one night who had a record of our stay but no room key. After about 15 minutes with several staff looking perplexed and going on and off the computer we were eventually given a room and the keys.
We went to the room and as we were about to enter, a couple came out of the room going for their evening meal. The couple were from Germany and didn’t speak much English so were confused as to why we had a key which worked to their room. We all went back to reception to sort the confusion out. The reception staff didn’t apologise for the confusion to either us or the other couple but did eventually sort out a different room for us. This apparently was an upgrade on a higher floor. We went straight to the room and when we entered the room there was already a complimentary bottle of cava and chocolates with a note from the hotel welcoming the guests, however the note with the gifts had someone else’s name on it.
When we checked out the next morning there was still no apology and also found the staff quite unfriendly. We needed to leave our luggage for a couple of hours. The staff pointed to a room at the side of reception where we had free access to put our luggage in. Other people’s unattended luggage had already been left in this room. I feel this room should be locked and the luggage tagged not just left open for any to walk into it.
Overall we had a poor experience and certainly won’t be returning

Found all staff very friendly and helpful. Room was excellent. Found hotel layout and condition to be good. Lobby and piano bar settings particularly nice. Was given a spa entry voucher (€11 if paying) - worth a visit 1-2 times over a week. Food and drink all good, choice at lunch a bit limited but otherwise quality was fine. Nearby marina very nice- no beach but some swim entry points. Would return

Great location. The only bad thing was no iron in the room. For us was important because we went to a wedding and we had to cross the whole hotel with iron board they do not bring you that even if you make a request. Management should take a note of that. Otherwise everything was great.

Our 20th plus trip to this hotel so, think we like it!
The hotel gardens are superbly maintained albeit some pf the paths are becoming tired but, they are being updated in parts of the grounds.
The reception staff and those at breakfast are friendly and very efficient. One of the main attractions for us staying here is LANZAROTE BIKE located in the ground floor of the hotel. Miguel, Stephanie and Guillimer, one of the mechanics are great people.
What is better than having a nice breakfast, applying your sun cream and riding a hire bike from Lanzarote Bike!!

Superficial approach

It can be seen that the hotel saves where possible:
- most food tasteless
- coming later for dinner means some dishes are not available
- they serve half-raw fish from the grill, when I advertise it to the shift manager, it goes away
- the sports pool is full of paper left over from the fireworks on January 5
- the sand by the pool is full of small dirt
- new year's eve for double the price disappointment with dinner - it corresponded to 3 stars, I had a great new year's eve in Tenerife in a 4 star hotel and it can't be compared at all, just a disappointment in Lanzarote
- food left over from New Year's Eve was served on the following days
- the dinner service won't notice you (especially older gentlemen), you have to walk up to them
- the supervisor at dinner is so good at shaking hands, he doesn't see anything of what he's supposed to see
- young service okay
- reception okay
- Christmas decoration in order
- neither pool had the declared temperature!!!
- in a whole week, no one fixed the malfunctioning shower
- dirty sunbeds
- although the hotel boasts a SPA, it deserves a maximum of 3 stars for ordinary services and a change of management, which is indifferent

There are hotels that do more than they have to and there are hotels that do less. This hotel did less, there were a lot of minor disappointments.

We stayed in the hotel in the end of April 2023. Hotel itself has beautiful and well looked after grounds, very good pools and nice SPA and gym.
Food was very good and plenty in amounts and choice if you are omnivore. Some options for gluten-free diet, also I found no issue with catering vegan if vegetable stews are your dish. Vegetarian was even easier with eggs and cheese. Though not always you could see if cheese was vegetarian or not.
Rooms were clean and cleaned well. Entertainment good and plenty especially if you like to get involved in activities with animation team, you will always find one. Animation team also gave very good night shows, I'd say, even better than some hired ones.
Drinks were plenty to choose from, just download menus via QR code. Although sometimes you may get a little cheated with some lazy bartender so cocktails can vary in finish and taste. There is no cold coffee option at day bars, so just ask coffee and ice (and milk if you prefer) and mix it yourself. I found an issue finding not alcoholic drinks, as even for all inclusive there is only one alcohol free cocktail. At least they have alcohol free beer, but no alcohol free wine or cider. So if not boozing, options are very very limited.
People who work at the hotel are hardworking, friendly and always willing to help. If you have any issue just ask the reception and, I am sure, they will find a solution for anything.
Overall, I loved staying there and willing to come back one day. Thank you

Great gym and bar not too expensive. Whilst I thought the breakfast buffet was pretty good the only evening dining option in the hotel was buffet and no room service. Also our room and a continuous noise like a boiler sound which was annoying especially at night. We also had problems with our key card working. Most annoying of all our cards were cancelled st around 10am on our day of leaving so when returning to our room after breakfast to pack up we could not get in and had to go and sort it with reception

We have been here a few times pre covid and was just as good but room was looking dated in parts and air con not working We always seem to get a room the furthest from Reception and a good walk. We are able to do this but some people might struggle. Food was good. Plenty of choice. Plenty of sun beds. Entertainment good one night but other nights poor( thats our opinion and others might enjoy) We went down the hill to the port for a drink on night sometimes

We travelled are a family of four adults. Our rooms were beside each other on the fourth floor. The rooms were nicely decorated and spotlessly clean not an insect in sight. Overall the food was fabulous with something to suit everyone. We took part in lots of activities organised by the wonderful hotel team and enjoyed the entertainment each night. This was our 5th time holidaying at Costa Calero.

Lovely hotel in a quiet area.
Staff are friendly and approachable. Dining options at the buffet are numerous and of good quality.
Pools were great to swim in. Saltwater 40m pool was never crowded.
Gym equipment was of a decent standard and was also large enough for several people to use. So often at hotel gyms there is only 1 treadmill, 1 bike etc - thankfully here there were several of each so no waiting to work off the excesses of an all inclusive stay!
Definitely a place to go for some quality R&R.

Good hotel, but busy and very noisy at times.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were all excellent and very professional and Covid measures were in place. Our room was decorated to a high standard and we had a great south facing view. We enjoyed the spa and visited twice and thought it was good value for money. The food was very good, plenty of it too, but we did find the dining extremely busy whatever time we visited. Not sure why people have to dash around plus filling their plates up so high - there was plenty to go around and you could go back and have more if you needed to.

The main thing we did not enjoy was the very loud music which was played periodically outside by the pools. It was so annoying and completely unnecessary. Please stop as this is not a 18-30 holiday hotel.

Marketed as 4star but can only be described as 3star at best. Refurbished rooms are okay, if you get one (we had to complain about the state of the non refurbished room and lack of sea view, despite it being described as such, before we were offered an upgrade). Food and dining facilities very poor. Bar and pool areas feeling very dated and tired. The whole place and service that goes with it needs an upgrade, not just rooms.

The place to stay in lanzarote!

What an amazing hotel to venture to after lockdown. Staff are so friendly, nothing is too much bother for them. The hotel spreads over a large area. Theres a space for everone near the many pools. We chose an area under the palm trees. And a trip to the spa every day was the perfect way to wind down. Thanks to all the staff for wonderful food, spotless facilties and a smile for all.

A great hotel, made excellent by the professionalism and commitment of the staff. Despite reduced staff numbers, the level of service was outstanding - from the cleaning ladies (rooms and communal areas always spotlessly clean) to the restaurant staff (food replenished continuously) and the manager, Stefan, who also worked in the restaurant. Yolande on Reception was especially helpful and efficient. Excellent variety of food for both buffet breakfast and dinner (both meals included in our special offer rate), with some dishes cooked to order.
Evening entertainment in the bar (unexpected in the current Covid conditions) was also very good.
Hygiene and safety standards maintained throughout the hotel and we felt very safe.
Only 2 slight negatives: the hotel is at the top of a very steep hill so a difficult walk to the marina for anyone with mobility issues (though not a problem for us); the internet service was very unreliable.
I highly recommend this hotel.

Arrived in Lanzarote without a booking for accommodation. We have been to Puerto Calero before so decided to try the Costa Calero. Literally sat in the car outside and booked online with Hotels.com. Fantastic deal ... and were even given a room upgrade when we checked in 5 minutes after booking. Well equipped room, very comfortable bed (rare in Spain, I find) and exceptionally clean. With concerns over Covid, we were a little wary, but fears were unfounded - everyone wearing masks, hand sanitiser everywhere and very good measures in place in the restaurant. We felt very safe. Food was excellent! Huge variety on both the breakfast and dinner buffets with some dishes cooked to order.
The staff were lovely! They all worked tremendously hard to ensure guests were happy and satisfied. Particular mention to Yolanda on Reception - very efficient, friendly and helpful. Also to Stefan, the manager who worked tirelessly in the restaurant, as the hotel currently has reduced staff, and to Yaselyn, who seemed to be working every shift!
Would have no hesitation in returning.

It was impossible to get a cup of tea - no teapots allowed in the rooms! No tea making facilities. Some staff were kind enough to make a pot of tea to take to the room.
The standard of food was diabolical
I was ‘upgraded’ when I arrived to a room to hat didn’t look like the photo in the booking. A room overlooking the road and building works going, workmen could quite clearly see into your room. Didn’t feel safe. Shown a second room, exactly the same!! Had to pay £112 more to be higher up. Even though I had sent 4 emails without a reply asking to be be on a higher floor. Not impressed
I was charged again for dinner even though I had paid cash, which seemed to take at least 9 mins to process while I waited to receive a a paid docket, and arduous process that even the end was meaningless as they presented a bill at the end. Overall I coul not wait to get home. I will not be staying there again and certainly will not be booking a holiday with Expedia. It was my mistake not to go independent and oversee all the little details and just leave it to a tour operator. The pick up transfer came far too early, I missed breakfast then sat at the airport for longer that I needed, the flight was delayed, it’s no ones exact fault but all these little mishaps became for me a very unpleasant experience where I could not wait to get home. Thank god it was sunny. I will in the future ALWAYS organise my own travel. I didn’t realise that this hotel v much caters for the drinking older crowd

My request for 2xtwin rooms with single beds and close together was not paassed on to the hotel. A reported wall light not working was not sorted within the 4 remaining days of our stay. Nonetheless the hotel was very accommodating and the staff were always helpful and friendly. I will certainly be booking to go back there next year.

Nothing at all was wrong with this hotel. We simply found it very impersonal. Must have met 60+ staff but only 3 were friendly or showed any interest.
We had half board but only ate there 5 times out of 28 because whilst the food was ok it was the same all the time.... same food, same disinterested staff.
I have to say that whilst it didn’t suit our needs I think it would suit many people’s needs perfectly. The location is great and as I said I found nothing really wrong with the hotel itself....... just not for us.

We stayed bed and breakfast as like the variety of eating out in local town which is very good and a short walk. Couldn't fault the breakfast though, plenty of options for all. Staff friendly,polite and professional.

Very nice hotel in a fantastic location.

Stayed for 3 nights all inclusive in February 2018. Staff were great. Facilities good. Pools looked lovely but it was still a little too chilly to brave them. Got a day in the spa though and that pool was nice and warm. Good choice of food. Buffets are never perfect but always something good there. A short walk to the marina at Puerto Calero which was beautiful and they provide a bus to Puerto del Carmen which is a bit busier.

Great hotel, friendly staff.

First time at the Costa Calero Hotel but have stayed at the other large hotel in the area before so did know the area, the harbour and the shops. Big hotel with slightly confusing layout, communal spaces are lovely, rooms are a good size and are clean and comfortable although the mattress was too firm for me but fine for my husband. Sadly there is no heating and due to the worst weather for fifty years it would have been nice but not essential. All of the staff were friendly and cheerful, rooms were well cleaned, waiters very very helpful and smiling and the animation staff were brilliant both during the day with numerous activities and in the evening with the entertainment where they worked incredibly hard. The professional entertainment acts brought in were excellent far better than expected. There was a huge choice of food for every meal although some dishes could have been hotter but the wine choice was excellent. Being a newly diagnosed diabetic I would have appreciated some better labelling and some porridge being available for breakfast as I have found in every other all inclusive hotel I have ever stayed in as that is all I normally have for breakfast. Strangely you had to pay extra for slimline tonic even though Diet Coke is included and no diet ginger ale was available which was a shame for the other diabetic with us who drinks whisky and ginger. Looking at the age of guests while we were there I'm sure we weren't the only diabetics. We will return, great break.

Perfect for winter re!axation

This was our third visit. We meet up with family and enjoy the relaxing nature and beautiful grounds of the hotel. The food was v good this year and we were able to get our favourite rooms, so all good. We enjoy the competitiveness of the games, and do quite well, winning medals and bottles of Cava. All inclusive is worthwhile, especially if you are with a group. The family enjoy the Spa and winning the reward tickets. The weather this year was v varied, so we did miss the sun sometimes but in a sheltered spot we did manage to change colour. The storms also added interest. The shows were good, but sometimes the volume was uncomfortable. The Entertainments Team did their best, particularly Charlie. Thank you Costa Calero, looking forward to next year and meeting the friends again.

Great Facilities in a good location

Large spacious hotel with well-kept gardens and lovely pools, one of which was kept at 23degC even in winter. Plenty of areas in the gardens to get away from the crowds and enjoy the winter sun in peace and quiet. Puerto Calero is well situated at the centre of the island making sightseeing very easy.

We had a short two night stay and although enjoyable, some parts of the hotel are beginning to look a bit tired and in need of a refresh. Also wouldn't stay in a garden room again, much preferred sea view last time. Gardens outside the apartment are a bit mucky and untidy.

Disappointing to have no tea/coffee making as standard in room.

Great location,staff and hotel

Smooth check in with really friendly staff. Upgraded to prestige room which was a lovely touch and the room was stunning with clarins toiletries. Food and drinks were a great selection and no wristbands. Every member of staff was helpful and smiling. Plenty of areas for sunbeds and never an issue to get one.

Well laid out chilled hotel for all the family. Went in August and blooming hot..
Enough to do during the day, quiet at night but the hotel do put on a few good acts..
Great pools, fantastic grounds and attractive settings.
All in, I would definately return.

half board!

If you opt to go half board, as we did and prefer eating out, expect little! No extra's like a fridge full of goodies, tea and coffee facilities, no nice shampoo, you pay a deposit for beach towels, safety deposit and a kettle!! Certainly no chocolate on your pillow! If you go all inclusive, I am sure you will have a nice time!! Hotel is ok other then that. Breakfast good!

A bit of a dissapointment

I booked this for the last night of a trip with my mom for her 60th birthday. We were some of the youngest people there. It looks better online and maybe this just is not the place we like to stay. It is for the masses. Tourist busses and makes it easy to get around. We like smaller more quaint places. She loved the breakfast buffet and the spa so that is a highlight.

Great quiet hotel

Really enjoyed our pre-Xmas week at Costa Calero. Spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Liked the fact that, though large, hotel is spread out and always felt quiet. We had B and B only and breakfast excellent. Enjoyed meals out at the marina. Facilities very good indeed. Our 4 year old also loved the mini-club when we discovered it and the staff were super there.

We would wholeheartedly recommend the Costa Calero and will definitely be back.

The only downside from a customer services perspective was when the courtesy bus to Puerto del Carme left before the appointed time leaving 7 hotel guests (including me, my wife and son) to find alternative transport. To my surprise the receptionist reviewed cctv and claimed that the driver had left on time despite all 7 of us knowing that it didn't. A little odd. Didn't spoil our holiday though....

Not a 4 star resort

This is a large resort. We arrived to check in at 2pm as per hotels.com however our room was not ready for another half hour so we explored the hotel. When we went back it still was not ready and we continued waiting. In the end we waited for 1 hour for a room when reception could have told us to come back at 3pm from the beginning. The service at this resort was not 4 stars. They were not helpful even when we asked about the spa offers they told us they did not know anything and to go to the spa centre.

Our room was about 10 minutes walk from the reception/entrance. The room was comfortable. However it was noisy and every morning we could hear the room above us moving around. Wi-Fi was good and parking was easy around the area.

Fantastic Hotel

This really is a lovely hotel with wonderful staff, lovely guests, nice food, immaculate grounds.
Booked an all inclusive here through Expedia and separate flights. Arrived around 11am & was able to check in right away. My only disappointment was that we were on the ground floor 3 doors from the end of the hotel & the view was not great I had sent an email request for a higher level room but was told on check in that all the standard rooms were on the ground floor. It would of been nice if the hotel had replied to the email telling us this and perhaps offered the option to pay for an upgrade. Other than this everything was perfect.
The Piano bar is open at 6pm in a lovely setting overlooking the sea, the pool bar serve drinks up until then & the service in all bars was fast & friendly often with the same staff alternating between all the bars. The entertainment is fabulous, we had a singer in the Piano bar the 1st night who was great & a rock n roll tribute band in the club who really knew how to entertain & get everyone dancing! The other nights were good too with a very funny show from the hotels animation staff.
The food was lovely with not a chicken nugget in sight, but a varied selection of salads, grilled meats potato dishes,breads & fresh fruit and although I'm not a great dessert eater the selection looked wonderful. There was always home made pizza too.
Everything is constantly being replenished & the staff are quick to clear the plates.

Good hotel, convenient for Puerto Calero

Overall, this hotel was very nice. The public areas were spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of swimming pool provision and sun loungers available. There was a nice spa to relax in. We booked a sea view room view and we were on level 4 with a great view of the sea. The standard of cleanliness in the room and public areas was excellent. The decor of our room was very tasteful. The hotel was very conveniently situated within easy walking distance of the village of Puerto Calero. There was plenty of free parking in the roads outside. Having visited other areas of Lanzarote, Puerto Calero is a very clean harbour village with high quality restaurants and shops. There were some downsides to the hotel. Although the reception staff were generally really helpful there were a few exceptions. Our beds and pillows were not comfortable, and alternatives such as feather pillows were not available. Breakfast was very nice with a good variety of high quality food, but smoking was allowed in much of the semi-covered breakfast area. In the good weather it was really nice to be able to have breakfast outside, rather than in the inside area which relied on artificial lighting, but it was difficult to avoid smokers (who were in the minority) without sitting at the rear of the semi-covered area, the only area where smoking was not allowed.

very good hotel,but had requested room close to lift and was given one as far away as possible on a very ;large complex,room changed for second night,much better but still plenty of walking and steps to negosiate(my wife is diabled) But overall very happy with hotel and facillities.

Lovely hotel, amazing spa

I can't rate this hotel highly enough! Very spacious - lots of activities going on, but even more quite places to go. The 40 metre salt water swimming pool was great, as was the spa (which only cost €6.90 to use and is the best spa I've ever been to!). We only had breakfast in the hotel - there was a vast selection to choose from. They do all inclusive too. But if you don't want all inclusive there are lots of lovely restaurants a short walk away at Puerto Calero marina. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel, it's perfect :-)
