Two tier treatment depending on whether one booked with hotel direct or through a travel site. I'd stayed here 4 times previously and each occasion booked directly with hotel. This time I booked with hotels.com which meant no free parking and no free bottle of cava.( not that I drink it). And charging for the room safe , it's 2025. I booked half board as I had done in the past and was able to change to lunch if we decided to go out at night, not this time. 3 different staff members gave me 3 different instructions on what I had to request and when, the 3rd just said it was not possible. When I asked why she said it had stopped being their policy that morning. By the way totally not suitable for anyone with a mobility issue. All up a hill with it being steps 2 thirds of the way of a distance of 200 metres. A dirty towel lay at my balcony for the eight nights I stayed, reported twice but still there when we departed.But the real icing on the cake was the restaurant. Food was varied as always and I honestly couldn't fault it. But bottles of vodka at the breakfast bar within the reach of kids, come on. 4th morning my wife called me from the coffee machine to watch Mr mouse popping his head out from under the breakfast bar( I'm hoping it was just a mouse). The nearest member of staff just carried on with her duties. Definitely not 4* anymore and I've told them that and suggested a few 4* hotels to compare with.

Great hotel, good food, good entertainment, and pool area is excellent, but the best thing about the hotel is the staff, they are a credit to the establishment. Location is a bit up the hill but taxi is 3 euros back up.

Lovely large apartment with kitchenette, separate bedroom and bathroom. Very clean. Staff all really friendly and approachable. The breakfast was superb with a huge variety of food to suit all tastes: cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, cooked eggs, bacon, sausages, etc and lovely bread and cakes. A great start to the day. It is a short walk down hill to lots of bars and restaurants and a great location for exploring the island. Would definitely recommend!

Biggest asset to Gloria Izaro are the staff that do a wonderful job from check in to departure as do everyone in between. The complex is beautiful with no shortage of sunbeds or sun loungers with activities provided daily if you care to take part.

Had a fantastic stay in a 2 bedroom apartment. Very clean, everything we needed. Pool was lovely - nice touch with tiny kids pool too. Pool bar had loads for lunch plus a happy hour. Breakfast was delicious - far too much to choose from! Everything from a fry up, omelette station, breads and pastries, meats and cheese, yoghurts and cereal and more! Always plenty there too. Tried the bar one evening which was very relaxed and reasonable. Only a 5-10 walk to old town harbour and a taxi rank just 2 minutes away. Highly recommend.

This hotel was up a hill a good km away from the main resort promenande but that was ok for us as we had a car. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the hotel was kept well maintained despite a sandstorm that made a terrible mess. Staff were quick to clean the place up once it was past. The food in the restaurant was extremely varied, well presented and on the whole very good. The chefs were more than obliging to cook for you at breakfast and dinner, always done with a smile. Although poolside was very busy during the day it was very quiet at night. We will definitely return.

The staff were so friendly. The apartment was spacious comfortable and well equipped. The adults sunbathing area had the most comfortable sun beds ever! The location was good for us, a short walk to all the bars and restaurants but in a quiet area so no noise. Loved the Prosecco and bloody Mary’s for breakfast! Coffee machines on in the restaurant for after dinner would be a nice addition.

The Gloria Izaro is a excellent place to stay and the staff all around are absolutely fantastic and friendly - they will do everything to make sure you have a great holiday. Any problems are sorted out immediately by reception. We are return visitors and will be coming back here many more times. The reception staff make you feel like your are coming back home.

On arrival we were given room 721. The room had a very strong smell of sewers.Then there was a constant loud noise from generators that was disturbing our sleep every single day. Standard breakfast, but dinner wasn't good-lots of food, but either over salted or under cooked (especially vegetables), strange/inedible salad combinations. The room wasn't cleaned for the first two days-it looks like someone just got in, made the beds and left, the floor was left dirty. The bed sheets were not changed either during the entire stay. Entertainment: there was an announcement board outside the reception saying what was on during the week, including kids disco in the evenings. Unfortunately the disco happened only twice leaving us and our kids waiting every evening for the show to begin which has never happened. Reception: slow and quiet. Where is the WOW factor for the 4 star hotel? We haven't received it and won't be back.

My wife and i love this hotel this was our 5 visit and we are already planning our visit for next year the hotel is always very clean. It was also nice to see the towels being removed form people that had reserved beds from 7 am. Fairs fair

What a wonderful hotel.
It was our second time staying at this property and it just gets better each time. Sitting on the balcony the first day, a lady from reception arrives with a bottle of sparking wine and 2 glasses and just hands them to my wife and says enjoy your stay. Its the small touches. Breakfast is superb. Staff are wonderful. Very private but not off the beaten track. We will be back a third time.

An excellent property only let down by a hilly location, (no fault of the hotel), and poorly maintained pavements on the hill, (again, no fault of the hotel). The hotel itself can hardly be faulted, considering the price bracket into which it falls. The staff are all extremely helpful and courteous. The apartments are very well kept and clean. The grounds and pool/recreation areas are all well kept. The restaurant ,offers all that can be expected in properties of this nature. The entertainment leaves a little to be desired, particularly the once a week “vocalist”, who cannot sing!
Due to the location and condition of pavements outside the property, added to the hotels’ inability to remedy the early risers reserving sunbeds, it is suggested that for persons with any mobility problems, it is better to consider other properties with more accessible surroundings.
A few sunbeds reserved by the pool attendant for less mobile customers, would be very helpful and easily done. Generally the property rates 9/10.

There were times when there would be 2 people sat out but we would struggle to find a sunbed in a good place without a towel on it.

The staff were really friendly , the food was lovely and if you was self catering the apartment was well equipped and lovely and clean with maid service every day except Wednesday . We only had a five day winter sun break at this accommodation but we’re pleasantly surprised by the facilities.

We also got a half board deal and again the food served did not disappoint. Hot and cold buffets for both breakfast and evening meal which were both good quality.

Spent two weeks in December 2018 with wife having spent five days last year . This Hotel is exceptionally good from minute you check in with glass of prosecco until the minute you check out . All staff are very efficient and friendly . Apartments are spotlessly clean and well equipped . Free wi-fi across complex and rooms and ample storage . Food choice is both extensive and hot again with very friendly staff . No panic to obtain a sun lounger around pool and also comfy beds for relaxation . Would highly recommend and would advise a top floor apartment preferably in range 515 to 525 which overlooks pool and pool bar .I was in 525 which had a large balcony with both seating and two loungers .

Location is about a 10-15 min walk from the beach, however very hilly. Some hills are quite steep so you use your calves on the way back! Plenty of taxis and busses around though, so if the hills aren't for you, it doesn't really matter.

I picked this resort as it had a good size and shape pool, with lots of well thought out shaded areas.

We stayed Easter 2018 and temperature was perfect for a mix of pool time and exploring. Hotel only 10 minutes from the airport, and with changes to data rules, our phone sat Nav was excellent getting to and from. Mini disco and kids club low key but well organised. The only slight downside was a chilly pool. Overall however nice hotel and spot.

Lovely hotel with very nice pool area and facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even went to the effort of leaving a cake in our fridge when the chambermaid noticed that it was my birthday. Very much appreciated! We also had a top storey apartment with fantastic views of the sea and mountains. The only negative (not a problem for us) is that the hotel is up quite a steep hill from the beach and the centre of Puerto Del Carmen which may not suit everyone. We enjoyed the walk and the views. Thanks for a lovely stay to all the staff.

This is a lovely clean hotel with great rooms we read a lot of reviews before deciding where to stay and this hotel came out tops because such good comments. Sun beds were the nicest & comfiest I’ve come across. Pool perfect size food great especially the breakfast all you could possibly want. We couldn’t fault anything about this hotel and will definitely be returning. Bus stop around the corner which takes you to costa Teguise & playa Blanca in no time at all, very cheap too!

Well let out spacious hotel on a hill above the port and old town of Puerto del Carmen. It is low rise and occupies a huge site built into the hillside. Reception building, bar and restaurant on lower level, sun terrace up a level and pool, small gym and sun terrace on the top level.
The buffet breakfast has a huge range and is very good quality though the evening buffet leaves a lot to be desired in terms of quality -15 when a top class steak plus trimmings 100yards down the street was 12. However we were breakfast only and ate elsewhere for all but one night. Also 100 yds away is a bus stop with a very regular service to Ariciffee and Costa Teguise (and all places in between).
A couple of minor down points - while the apartments are well equipped, the actual bedroom is tight for space and the bathroom could do with a shelf or something to hold jewelery of whatever when showering etc.

The reception is open 24 hours and the staff are all happy to help to make your stay the best. The food is great with loads of choice. Location is good with a nice walk nearby and a choice of pubs and restaurants and the airport just 10 monies away.
With sports centre, gym and to pools there is enough to do if you are staying back but, we were out seeing the sights most of the time. The are entertainments arranged at the pub on most nights.

We had a lovely two weeks, complex was well maintained, staff friendly, located in the old town be prepared for the hills or pay 2 to 3 euro for taxi coming home after food and drink good idea. Breakfast was well stocked, There is a weekly charge for safe which I find prohibits people from using , it is the same keypad safe as is in all other hotels I have stayed in and used for free. The area is safe and quiet.
