This stay was terrible, from the lack of any good food, no room service, no currency exchange, raw bacon and cold breakfast (eggs/potatoes), phone didn’t work in room, the gym was awful, bar/food closed early, and nothing is close for decent food since you are left starving. The staff made up for it the best they could, but never again will I stay there. Can’t believe this is a Marriott.

Parking is not reservable, so bear in mind if wanting to come and go. Staff were really great and helpful, shout out for Amine and also his colleague from Rennes - I didn’t catch her name but can’t be many Rennais who have a bit of a Kent accent!

My hisband and I stayed for five nights..We always made sure that we removed the card off the door so that the maid knew that we are not in and for them to do their job.When we returned at night the room was in the same state as we left it. The bed was not done, no fresh towels, no tea bags,no water, no milk for us to make a drink. We had to chase people at reception to get fresh towels. Although we spoke to the receptionists every morning it made no difference.We will not stay there again and we will warn all our friends and relatives who very often travel to Paris.

It was in an ideal area of France right outside of Paris ... I didn’t like the fact they did not have any face towels and we had to use drying off towels for wash clothes. There was not a mini bar as the feature said just 1 lonely bottle of water. Breakfast was supposed to be included but it was but we had to pay for it

The Hotel was ideally suited for getting to the stad de France, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and comfortable
Our only complaint was that breakfast was stone cold as the systems which keep the food warm for the buffet weren’t working

I would not recommend anyone to stay at this property. The manager, Thierry, is incredibly rude. I asked for a cup of hot water in the afternoon, and argumentatively he responded with, 'no you have a kettle in your room, you can't get water down here.' I told him I'd been getting water at the same time the past 3 days with no problem. He responded with, 'no, if you want me to give you water, that will be 3 Euros.' Not even a question of money, but the rudeness. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. So please save your money and stay elsewhere. I'm not sure if it was a problem of our color, nationality, or just plain dislike but I would not recommend staying here. You will be treated as a nuisance by majority of the staff vs a guest.

Marriot has lost the charm

It seemed to me that the Marriot is on a money saving mission.
1. I booked with breakfast - the reception said i have to pay. Showed them the reservation from hotels.com. they agreed. At the time of checkout - they had added the charge for breakfast.
2. the towels were stinking.
3. We had booked a family room( 2 rooms linked together) for 4 people. Probably lef from previous booking. When we got into the room, we found extra single bed blocking the path between 2 rooms. Had to call them to remove it.
4. The hotel is in the run down area. Did not feel safe with family to even goto the nearest metro station. Could see groups of young local people everytime around the hotel.

Doable and good value for the money

The carpets in the rooms are overdue for replacement, but the hotel is quite allright for the rest, especially given the price. The breakfast is great, and the closeness to a subway station is very welcome.

I was surprised that no free water bottles or slippers were provided in the rooms.

Standard Courtyard reliability.

Standard reliability of the Courtyard. It is slightly more out of the city centre than what I would have liked but for the sake of a few extra stops on the Metro, you are saving a lot and getting the bigger size rooms that the city centre would not give you. The staff was very friendly.

I would not really recommend the hotel. The hotel is not as clean as it looks in the pictures at all, the bathtubs need renovation and are dirty. The towels are very cheap towels and the beds are not very comfortable. The maid service is horrific, and for five out of the six nights we were there, no one came to make our room up. We left late as my children were adjusting to the time change, but even in the afternoon shift, the room was left in disarray and we had to ask for clean towels several times. The location is not good in relation to Paris, so if that’s what you are looking for, keep looking. I booked it thinking the hotel would be worth the stay despite the distance from the center of the city, expecting it would be a very decent hotel based on the rating, it is not. This is not what you would expect from a Marriott chain hotel at all, very disappointed!

I had a 3-night confirmed reservation but when I arrived at the hotel (approx. 6PM) they were oversold and had no room for me. Manager was very apologetic but firm in denying me a room. He walked me next door to a hostel-type hotel and checked me in there for one night. This hotel was very, very marginal. But the manager agreed to pay for drinks, dinner, breakfast, internet - pretty much everything - during my stay and upgrade me in his hotel once I checked in for the second night. The hotel upheld this agreement. Once I got checked into the Courtyard, it was a nice room and a generally nice experience. Rooms are nice, clean and roomy (for European hotels). The check-in and check-out staff were really nice. I consider my experience an anomaly and would consider staying there again.

It was my wife and daughter who stayed, but my wife was quite surprised to learn that this was a 4 star hotel. She gave it a maximum of 3 stars.
She found it comfortable and convenient for the Stade de France, but said that there was very little nearby in terms of food and drink.
My wife also said that reception staff were less than efficient and not too pleasant either.
Is it a Paris thing, I don't know.

Nice time in a nice hotel

First the bad - it is in a unkempt area of the town. We walked home from the metro and were actually a little bit frightened - not well lit. Take a cab after dark if possible. The Metro Station is about 4-5 minutes away.

The good ! - The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff excellent and very helpful. We included the breakfast - not much variety day to day but plenty to eat. My overall impression of the stay was very nice.
The metro ride is about 20-35 minutes to the main sightseeing area, depending on where you are going.

Saint-Denis is an industrial place, so no nearby restaurants. But easy access to the subway.

Just the job!

Only 20 minutes by Metro from the Champs-Elysée, this was far enough out to be inexpensive, yet not so far away as to be a pain getting into town. For my trip it was perfectly located near the Stade de France. Not the best looking area, but felt safe, the hotel felt new, clean and well looked after. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Easy and secure parking in an underground garage below the hotel. Would not hesitate to go back.

We had just spent days in small, historical or less expensive hotels and when we walked into the spacious cleanliness of the American Courtyard hotel it was so refreshing and peaceful. Not that we didn't enjoy the other hotels, but the Courtyard was truly like a breath of fresh air. Room was wonderful, breakfast was wonderful…. front desk advice was friendly and helpful…. I can't think of a single complaint. I would stay there again in an instant should I be in that area again.

on arrival nice welcome and service to room from reception staff.room more than ok 2 double beds room clean however tv mostly pay tv channels.going to concert at stade de france nearby and also a metro station 2 minutes away for central paris.i paid for 3 nights plus breakfast ,breakfast buffet heated in containers but not kept very warm.waiters staff kept distance but when americans or Canadians came in all over them with tea coffees etc plus cooking them fried eggs brought to tables.my partner next day asked for fried eggs told none available shown scrambled eggs which was on buffet.2 americans came in pointed at chef eggs cooked and gave to them my partner complained to waiter he laughed in her face.after breakfast my partner complained to manager who did addrees problem gave us sweets and bottle of drink and waved city tax on checkout also a card saying sorry so cannot fault desk manager but treatment I felt was by waiters etc to be tip based and bias to eu nations.not much around hotel but as I said metro nearby.stopped in other marriots around world thankfull to desk manager but will not use hotel due to treatment of british guests also I am against the tv being charged for other channels news free so limited viewing.stayed may 22 to 25 2015.

A hotel where you can really relax and enjoy!

The MOST CONSIDERATE STAFF at the hotel (everyone at the desk!) made sure everything we needed (including help with the language!) was taken care of. The breakfasts were copious and really good! Rooms at the hotel were spacious and comfortable--rare in Europe. Everything we needed was provided, including free parking, really tasty deli picnic sandwiches available, and help with transportation. Stay there!

Pros: Clean, comfortable, American-style hotel just north of Paris. Rooms are clean, good-sized for Europe, and feature private bathrooms. Within easy walking distance to Carrefour Pleyel subway station where you can take the M-13 to Saint Lazare or Champs Elysee for shopping or dining or to catch other trains and buses to get around Paris.

Cons: Not much within walking distance, and buses don't run on Sundays. Water pressure and hot water availability vary. On Sundays, the days we arrived and left, there is a transportation gap between the hotel and train station for getting to/from the airport requiring an extra 20-Euro taxi ride. (We relied on public transport for the week instead of hiring/renting a car.) European hotels do not feature shuttle services like some American hotels do.

Hotel needs uplifting to be a real Marriott

1) Garage entrance requires to call the staff even though you do have a magnetic card.
2) Breakfast is not French cuisine. Too Basic. The Omelet is tasteless, the croissants are a far cry from what can be found at any store.
3) Staff not accommodating. I tried to buy a piece of cake that was on display and charge it to my room. I was told the service was closed!!!!
4) Hallway carpet needs cleaning.

Stayed 2 nights while on a business trip, hotel is nice, restaurant is good and staff there is great, always nice and smiling. Not close to the city center though it is close to the subway and you can get there in about 25 minutes. Hotel surroundings are not very interesting if looking for a touristic spot but the subway can get you mostly anywhere pretty quickly.

Price was more attractive than many other hotels in Paris and room size was larger than you will usually find in central Paris. The staff was wonderful. Always very responsive and friendly. They even left an additional US to French power converter in my room without even being asked when they saw electric curlers waiting to be connected. The restaurant was also very good. I just thought the breakfast price was a bit high - 19 Euros!

The only down side is its location. But the Metro was only one block away and you could get to central Pairs in about 25 minutes. However, don't ride it during rush hour or early Saturday evening as this line gets quite crowded. You usuall had to call a cab as thy did not wait at the fornt of the hotel but cabs wer alswy there in 5 - 10 minutes even when it was raining.

But beware, they still charge for Internet access - $ 19.95 Euro per day. Ouch!

TO MANY 'EXTRAS' NOT INCLUDED IN INITIAL PRICE

The hotel is not in a good area or as near the Stade de France as I was led to believe. I asked reception to order taxi to take me to the S d F, which was about 20 minutes walk away, and instead of a taxi was given a 'private hire' car by the hotel which charged me the same fare as I had paid in a 'taxi bleu' from the Gard de Nor when I arrived. Too many 'extras' to pay for, such as a bottle of water for 8 Euros etc and there was a price to pay of 25 Euros per 24 hours to use the TV in my room, I have NEVER had to pay to use the TV in any hotel room ever before. Some staff were very helpful, some not. I am not young, but that is no excuse for bad manners.

The room was the same size as a standard Marriott hotel room in the U.S.; therefore, it was much larger than most other Paris hotel rooms. Our room had a king size bed, 2 night stands, chair, small side table, desk, and minibar/frig. The bathroom had a large shower, but no tub. The lighting in the bathroom was adequate, but the lighting in the room was somewhat lacking. The room was clean and comfortable, with updated furniture. The bed was extremely comfortable, with a variety of hard and soft pillows from which to choose. The drawback for the hotel was the extra charges for basic items and the overpriced restaurant. Parking and internet access in the room were an extra charge, and excessively expensive.

The hotel itself was lovely; the room was a good size and nicely decorated - the bed was big and comfortable, the bathroom was very clean and had a good shower and good lighting over the bathroom mirror.The location was close-(ish) to the Stade de France which was why we chose to stay there, but other than that there was little to recommend the location - no local tourist attractions or good restaurants. The wifi and the breakfast were (in our opinion) - very expensive. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

Handy hotel for gigs & events at the Stade De France , surrounding area a bit run down but the hotel itself is very nice , four star rooms.

Pleasant stay at the hotel. Staff could have been a bit more friendlier, when we wnet to leave, the staff behind the desk did not een look up to say goodbye or anything which was a bit disapointing especially when I said aurevoir even then I got no response.
When we checked in we were told that we had the best view. 'the courtyard view' whic wasn't great, so the staff really shouldn't give their customers false expectations, becuase wehn you walk into the room the first thing you do is walk up to the window expecting this wonderful view.
I also found that the full breakfast was very overpriced for what they have to offer.

Awesome. Nothing else to add

I just want to say the staff of this hotel are exceptional. During our stay, my car blew a sensor, they lined me up with a Parisian Porsche dealership and helped me hugely. Then a picture fell accidentally onto m,y computer during my stay- no issue- they simply asked me to send them the bill! It's not problems but how you react to them that defines you, so Brice and co, you are superb. Highly recommended.

Ideal for stade de france

Although we only stayed one night I would recommend this hotel all day long, the rooms very comfortable and modern, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was very good although 7 euros for a pint and 4 euros a lemonade was a bit cheeky. Overall price location and service very good.

Excellent staff & accomadation.

Very pleasant greeting and service for the hotel staff.

A good walk to the stadium, metro & cash machines around the corner. Center of Paris not to far away and equal distance between central Paris and the airport.

Out of the centre but accessible

Friendly staff and clean hotel. Catering staff and chef try their best and sometimes come up with the goods! Breakfast excellent. Eat main meals out though. The hotel is in an outer suberb (St Denis) which is not the most pleasant area of Paris but it seems safe and the Metro station is two minutes walk around the corner. The trip into the centre of Paris only takes about 15 minutes on the Metro. Free wi-fi in the lobby but you pay for it in your room. If you just need a nice bed for the night, a decent breakfast and clean and comfortable rooms and you don't want the hassle/expense of an over-priced city centre hotel then this might fit the bill.

Nice hotel, good location, not too expensive

The hotel was nice. There were no amenities (exercise room, pool etc.) however, the price was good and the room was clean and comfortable. The room was very small, but we did not stay there except to sleep. The staff was pretty good. One woman was wonderful, and extraordinarily helpful. However, another staff member did not give us our wake-up call for a 6:15 tour departure. The metro entrance was a few feet from the front door which was a bonus for us. Would recommend if travelers are new to Paris and on a budget.

Do you dare ignore a fire alarm?????

Just because St. Denis is technically in Paris, do not expect European tourism standards to apply to the surrounding neighbourhood. It is quite dirty and run-down, with a distinctly neglected feel. However, the hotel is within a short walk of the Metro, which is only a few stops from the beautiful historic centre.
The hotel itself, for the price offered by Expedia for my stay, is good value for money. Their advertised room rate is diabolically unrealistic, and I'd rather sleep on the street! I also avoided the breakfast at 26 euros, and the secure parking at 16 euros a night.
I could also have done without the fire alarm at 8.45 Sunday morning, which had the hotel guests teeming down the stairs (lifts disabled, obviously!) only to find business very much as usual in reception, with people checking-out and having breakfast as though they couldn't hear the alarm. No-one was bothering to leave the building, no staff were ensuring that guests were safe etc., etc.
However, it was clean and comfortable, and a well-priced place to stay for a city-break! Thanks Expedia.

Will not stay at the Courtyard again

For all people traveling to Paris the Marriott Hotel is located in St Denis 25 to 30 minutes from Paris central. If you lucky a taxi charges you 20 euros but others tried 35 euros to take you to Paris. We took this hotel because it was marriott brand, the hotel was ok, very small but the towels were filty dirty, Not breakfast included, and they have it for 17 euro and the B&B hotel next door you can stay for 65 euros plus 5.95 breakfast. The staff like must of French people very nasty. It's unveliebable that such a beautiful country has so many nasty people. I believe they all need Jesus. [...]please read the fine prints, overal everything was good all my sugestions were on my reservation except that the hotel charges you 2.40 euro per day additional to what you paid. This hotel is good for business people not for vacationing with family. Also, Parking 17 euros per night. Renting a car was worth in that part of town a long with a gps.Good luck on your vacation.
