We stayed at Hotel Baxar for a Valentine’s getaway weekend, and it was truly a special experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt calm, intimate, and thoughtfully designed for relaxation.

The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully arranged. Everything felt clean, fresh, and well cared for. The view and overall ambiance created the perfect setting for a romantic weekend escape.

What stood out the most was the peaceful environment and the attention to detail. The staff was welcoming, professional, and always ready to help without being intrusive. It felt personal, not transactional.

We spent our evenings enjoying the sunset and simply slowing down — something that is rare and valuable. Hotel Baxar created the perfect space for connection, reflection, and quality time together.

We would absolutely return and highly recommend it for couples looking for a quiet, meaningful getaway.

The property is very old and dated. The showers are salt water which leaves you feeling unclean. Never clean towels. Service at beach, pool and restaurant is horrible but yet they expect high tip and when you don’t tip what they want then they tell you to tip them more. The room doors are see through and allow to much noise. Kids running and screaming all hours of the night. Dogs barking all night. Too much noise.
Now the beach is beautiful. Best place to see the sunset.

uno de los peores hoteles que me eh hospedado , la recepcionista nada profecional . no me respetaron la habitacion que pague , y dijeron que como no había reservado con ellos no me podian dar la habitacion que yo pague y ademas que ellos no tenían habitaciones disponibles la que yo reserve la cual ya habian cobrado , no me respetaron la habitacion que pague ,el gerente del hotel dijo que lo único que podia darme era una habitación con aire acondicionado y con un colchon para que terminaramos durmiendo en el suelo , las toallas y sábanas de cama huelen horrible , estan sucias y se miran viejas tambien parece que nunca las cambian , el agua para bañarte es salada al igual que el del lavamanos
la verdad muy desagradable experiencia que vivimos por 5 noches la cual me quede estancada en ese pobre hotel

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, the receptionist was not professional at all. They did not respect the room I paid for, and they said that since I had not booked with them they could not give me the room I paid for and also that they didn’t had rooms available for the one I reserved for which they had already charged, they did not respect the room I paid for, The hotel manager said that the only thing he could give me was a room with air conditioning and a mattress so that we would end up sleeping on the floor, towels and bed linens. They smell horrible, they are dirty and they look old. It also seems that they never change them, the water to bathe in is salty, as is the water in the sink.
The truth is, it was a very unpleasant experience that we lived for 5 nights, which I ended up stuck in that poor hotel.

The hotel seemed to be distressed and there were things I didn't expect. I stayed in the hotel for seven days and my room was cleaned three days. I ordered scrambled eggs for breakfast twice hoping each time the eggs would be scrambled rather than a flat pancake of egg browned on both sides. The continental breakfast was miniscule. Moreover, I did not expect to shower with sea water.

A long way out of Acapulco and not good value

We took a chance booking this hotel and it was not a great experience. First I must say the staff and the guests were great the ambiance was excellent. The hotel is about 10kms outside of downtown Acapulco and you drive through some of the most disgusting parts of Acapulco to get there. The hotel is located on a long strip of beach with many very poor run down hotels and cheap restaurants. The beach is beautiful but the sea is way too dangerous (rip tides) to swim in. We were there for 3 days and I never saw a person even try to swim. The hotel is old and quite run down, the pool is small and missing quite a lot of tiles. The room was not as described and was quite a problem as we needed the futon which they didn’t have. There is no TV, no AC and no HOT WATER! 3 days of cold showers. They hide behind “we are ecological”, I think not so much, just cheap. The restaurant is to me not good at all, it’s like they are trying to be healthy but absolutely no idea how to do it. The whole menu has only 2 meat items (both chicken), the rest is a mosh mash of vegetarian, a mystery fish and some shrimps. The optional sides are only 4 choices, and 2 are potatoes. Sadly there is nowhere even slightly close to go to, all the restaurants on the street close around 18.00 so you either drive into Acapulco which is 30 mins or eat at the hotel. All in all great people poor hotel and not good value for money.

Very very bad experience, was charge twice, by expedia and by the Hotel, felt like I was been robbed, room without AC and I paid a good price for that room to expedia, if I wanted a room wit AC I had to pay a higher price, very unprofessional by all the staff, waked up very early in the morning without water for shower and flush the toilet. The hotel ti very bad conditions in general, bad experience about Acapulco.

Our first 3 nights were really great at this property. The surrounding isn’t the typical holiday destination and you can see that it is all slowly developing. But the area is really special with the ocean and the lagoon. The hotel restaurant is absolutely great. The food is very good. The rooms need a bit of work. Our first roll had amazing view and a great bed. But the locks on the door didn’t work. The second room was also very pretty, but the mattress needs to be exchanged. Same in room three. But they do have a maintenance crew and have been fixing sailing small things. Overall very pretty. No AC in case you need it. Unfortunately we had in the fourth and fifth night rather unpleasant experience as the neighbors had a huge party. And we couldn’t sleep in the fourth night till 3 o’clock and the fifth till 1 o’clock. Unfortunately the hotel didn’t handle it very nicely. They were overwhelmed and said it is out of their hands and not their responsibility. Would have been nice to be at least informed about the circumstances. Also, would have been great if they could have been proactive and at least organized earplugs (the hotel doesn’t even have windows that shut). They could have also given out a free breakfast as a apology. I believe that it would have helped if the owner would have spoke to the guest instead of ignoring it and being Laterne on defensive. Didn’t appreciate how this was handle.

Overall great experience, the service is amazing, and the staff is great. I think the hotel has some details than can be improved, like the shower courtains, or the amenities. The cool beach beds that appear in the photos are not there anymore. The food is delicious but a little bit pricey.

Way overpriced for what you get

The room we reserved was a \"garden room\" meaning it faced the noisy street--and had no A/C. We requested an upgrade to a room facing the ocean with A/C, which luckily was available. The price was $165. for one night, so we expected something fairly nice. Turns out the room actually doesn't have a view of the ocean (there is another room right in front of it), but at least we were further in from the road. We went to eat at the restaurant and were told by the receptionist that she would let us know as soon as the room was ready for us. I checked at 3:00 pm (check in time) but it had not been cleaned yet. It wasn't until 3:40 that we were able to get into the room. We wanted to go to the beach but there were not towels...when I asked, I was told that they had no clean towels and were waiting for the laundry service to come--maybe around 4 or 4:30. The room was OK (A/C barely worked but still did cool us somewhat), but we killed a cockroach in the bathroom, the pole in the closet fell down when I hung a shirt on it, and the water that was provided (in a beautiful Mexican vase) had flecks of paint in it when I poured it in to the glass. I took the glass down to the reception and they were very apologetic--but they gave me one small plastic bottle of water to replace it (for my family of three). We have stayed at MUCH nicer places for half the price of this one.

On the beach, but no AC😕

The hotel staff was very nice, especially the manager. There was no AC in my room and no TV. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The shower broke, and they fixed it quickly. The WiFi was eek and spotty. Good place to stasy to get away from technology. The beach was beautiful and the neighborhood seemed safe. Ernesto gave a tour of the lahgoon. He was very friendly and kind.

A pretty hotel but in a bit of a tired condition

We asked to be and were upgraded to a beach facing room after much delay as the receptionist couldn't work out how much more to charge us as we had booked and pre-paid for a standard room.
The room was fine but the next door room was having the palapa roof stripped off and replaced which was fine but did mean we had guys working throughout the daytimes right next door to us.
We therefore suggested we shouldn't have to pay for the upgrade and in the end this was agreed to!
Food was ok, nice terrace, Great margaritas! Great beach with pounding (very loud!) waves.
Overall we quite enjoyed it but suggest an update is due!

TODO el personal es super amable, atento, se aprecia claramente que están haciendo un gran esfuerzo después de los huracanes padecidos, para reacondicionar el lugar y dar un excelente servicio, se agradece mucho. Es un lindo lugar para pasar unos días de descanso, ver el atardecer y pasar el día en la playa. Lo que NO me gustó fue: los precios de las bebidas/cocktelería son altos considerando la calidad y porciones, en el registro firmé una cláusula estableciendo que no se admiten mascotas pero si le permitieron acceso a clientes de cub de playa con perros en 3 días diferentes, es totalmente incongruente y molesto para quienes apreciamos lugares con esa restricción.

Sin duda volveremos pronto

Comida deliciosa.
Lo malo: le falta mantenimiento al hotel, se ven los pisos maltratados y los azulejos también. Un par de días no hubo agua caliente en una de las habitaciones.
Dicen que No se aceptan mascotas, sin embargo los de Day Pass traían perritos. Definitivamente necesita arreglos, se ve que fue muy bonito pero ya se ve desgastado.
Aún así, lo pasamos muy bien.

El lugar es increíble! Si bien no es un hotel nuevo tiene todo lo que necesitas para disfrutar tu estancia. Leí comentarios sobre el agua salada y es cierto. Pero esto es en toda la zona ya que con el huracán Jhon bajaron los niveles de la laguna y por ello sus pozos se abastecen de agua de mar. Nada que un garrafón de agua no pueda solucionar. Mi especial agradecimiento a todo el personal, recepción, meseros y staff en general, Liz, Stefan y Uriel nos atendieron súper bien y siempre muy amables, Jorge el gerente estuvo muy al pendiente de todos los huéspedes. El club de playa pequeño pero muy cómodo y completo hicieron que viviéramos momentos memorables en la playa que por cierto tiene una vista espectacular del atardecer. Otro punto notable es la comida que en su mayoría es producida de manera orgánica y artesanal pero sobre todo deliciosa. Las bebidas son muy ricas y la hora feliz dos veces al día es un plus. El hospedaje incluye varias actividades pero la que más nos gusto fue el paseo de en kayak en la laguna, donde Carlos el guía nos contó muchas cosas súper interesantes de la laguna de Coyuca. Otro servicio (costo adicional) son los masajes en la parte más alta de la propiedad, mientras escuchas las olas del mar recargar energía 100%. Sin duda regresaremos muy pronto a disfrutar de este hermoso lugar

En general todo muy bien! El personal siempre muy atento, quien nos llevó al paseo en kayak Carlos, muy atento y las chicas, Lizeth, Britanny, Esmeralda y Uriel también excelentes. Lo único que recomendaría sería que ampliarían su ancho de banda de internet o bien den una clave a quien nos hospedamos y otros a los que van al club de playa por qué se saturaba y de repente se requería.

El hotel es aparentemente bonito, pero no se dejen engañar, el agua de las duchas es agua salada al igual que los lavamanos, de un momento a otro las habitaciones se impregnan de un olor horrible y simplemente te dicen que no pueden hacer nada, la comida me salio con un pelote enorme y les valio, y de los lavamanos se riega el agua y se cayo un adulto y un bebé y su solucion fue poner toallas en el piso, PESIMOOOOOO PESIMOOOOOOOOO

Pues se mira descuidado el hotel, la alberca con muchísimo cloro, las llaves de la regadera en la habitación atascadas de sarro,, 2 ventiladores que hacen un ruido muy fuerte, la puerta no sirve bien se traba el desayuno incluido es para reir 1 bolillo duro que le llaman de piedra y 1 cafe ah agua con hielo y naranja que obvio no es jugo, en fin muy austero para el costo

No hay aire acondicionado en todas las habitaciones y el agua de servicio para las habitaciones es de agua salada al igual que la de la alberca. Y obviamente eso no te lo dicen hasta que estás ahí!! las instalaciones en las habitaciones son viejas y descuidadas y las camas si son muy incómodas y duras.

Por otro lado las instalaciones para la playa son muy lindas y cómodas y la comida del restaurante no está mal!!

Even thou I asked for an early check in, they gave me the room after 3:30 pm, I had a wedding at 4:30 pm and the service simply told me to wait.

I ate at the restaurant, some dishes were good, others were average. I went to pay my tab and they were charging me for drinks I never took and extra things I didn’t asked for.

They were trying to persuade me into paying when I checkout and that would have left me with either wait to dispute the extra charges or make me pay for something that I never drank or ate.

They provide you with plenty of sweet water because the water that runs from the tap and shower is salt water so you’re left with that strange sensation on the skin, same thing with the pool.

The ocean isn’t friendly like Acapulco’s so you’re risking getting swallowed and drowning. The futons and hammocks at the house beach get crowded on weekends, you have to use your towel to reserve them.

The areas around the hotel are quiet and very calm, but there isn’t many restaurants around within walking distances and there are lot of damaged buildings due to Otis, so you’ll see some dilapidated sights while you’re walking around.

I’ll recommend you to go if you want experience a semi virgin beach in the middle of nowhere, especially if you’re not looking for clubs or night life around the place.

Be weary if you want a snack for dinner, restaurant closes at 11 pm and the nearest store is far by foot and the hotel doesn’t let you introduce food and charge you for doing it.

No devuelven las cosas personales que olvide

El hotel me gustó mucho al igual que la playa hasta pensaba dar un retiro de mujeres pedí un cotización y el personal muy amable pero a la hora de entregar la habitación olvide un traje de baño verde muy querido ya que es un regalo muy especial y una bata blanca, en la carretera nos dimos cuenta del olvido pasó como una hora y nos comunicamos a recepción y la señorita que nos atendió nos dijo que el personal de limpieza no le había reportado nada, que ella se comunicaría conmigo y me dejó esperando, mandé correos al hotel llame y nada hasta la fecha no me han dado solución y eso vuelve una experiencia muy desagradable e insegura ya que no tuvieron la atención de solucionarme fue un olvido mío pero se supone que mis cosas estaban en un lugar seguro y al final ni siquiera tuvieron la atención ni de una cosa ni de la otra ojalá pudieran darme su amable respuesta y solución a mi petición y tener cuidado con su personal por qué no se pueden quedar con cosas que no son suyas. Ante todo la seguridad y la comodidad del cliente muchas gracias !

The location is great, backing up on the beach. Unfortunately the hotel is in serious need of repairs and renovations. Very old towels, dirty curtains, bathrooms are in a poor state. The showers and bathrooms use very salty water- not great for hair and skin, and pretty dire for contact lenses wearer.
Restaurant is nice and staff overall pleasant, with a couple of exceptions. Samayan on Reception was particularly helpful and friendly.

La habitacuon no estuvo a tiempo, esto es importante por si van a alguna boda. El hotel muy lindo, el servicio lento aunque el personal es amable. La comida tuene muchisimo por mejorar pero el servicio y la atencion siempre buenas. Ojo con fijarse y pedir habitacion con aire acondicionado.

Hotel en buen estado, bonito y cómodo frente al mar, Pie de la cuesta aún no está completamente rehabilitado después del huracán Otis, pero este hotel está en perfecto estado, los accesos se encuentran muy bien y el hotel está en buena ubicación, el club de playa es muy bonito y excelente para ver los atardeceres tan hermosos que se ven en este lugar, muy recomendable. La comida del restaurante es buena pero podría mejorar. Todos son serviciales y amables en todo momento.

El hotel está muy lindo, pero le hace falta limpieza a la alberca, me pusieron en la habitación Las palmeras y estaba a lado donde guardan escobas y hacen limpieza y desde temprano hacían muchísimo ruido.
De ahí en fuera todo está muy bien y rico.

Me encanto el lugar, la habitación muy bonita, el personal muy atento y amable, solo dos cosas, las almohadas son demasiado altas, la cama riquísima, ponen poco papel sanitario, no había shampoo ni crema en mi habitación o no las vi. Es un lugar tranquilo, me gusto que casi no había niños, eso le da un plus xq es más como parejas o adultos, espero sig así para que no pierda ese toque de tranquilidad, muy tranquila la playa, nada de escándalos, igual en la alberca, me encanto la temperatura de la alberca, lo malo, llovió y no había donde cubrirnos xq las camitas de la alberca se mojan. Creo que deben de tener un poco más batida su carta por cuánto a comida, algunos postres, etc…. Les pongo 8 de calificación. Regresare de nuevo! Me encanto el lugar

Las habitaciones sin aire acondicionado, el colchon en muy mal estado, la caja fuerte daba pena ya que ni siquiera tenian en el hotel un candado para poder cerrarla, el restaurante se tardan mucho en servir el pedido, la verdad super decepcionante
