Overall I liked it. Close to the better beach attractions, but old fashioned in service. Needs to upgrade to more modern service, kitchen supplies (coffee maker, toaster, blender, etc.) TVs, and better pools maintenance,. Very good in price. Staff very friendly. In a scale 1 to 10, I give them a 7.

I absolutely love this hotel and will be coming back! Although it seems far from the main walkway it's really not you can take a combi (taxi van) for 10 pesos a person. I love how the hotel is very family friendly, has many pools, and you can swim on the ocean water. My only con is how bad the restaurant is and for the price it's not worth it. Not only that but the staff just stood there and stared at myself and my father eat. Instead I suggest leaving the hotel and eating at the restaurant near the tortilla shop. It's very inexpensive and delicious!

Stay away from this hotel. We were doing a family reunion with about 18 adults and kids and rented the suites with ocean view and bought the American breakfast package for all 6 rooms. At breakfast time my husband found a tiny cockroach in his fruit plate, my cousin found another tiny cockroach in her napkin with utensils and my brother-in-law found a medium size cockroach walking on the table near his plate. When we complained about all the cockroaches on our table they said to compensate us they wouldn’t charge us for the fruit we all ordered since our breakfast package included either fruit or juice and we all had fruit and juice. We went to reception to complain about our experience and right there in the floor we found a huge dead cockroach and they said that they couldn’t do anything else to compensate us because they already gave us free fruit, which was contaminated with cockroaches. I wish I could have my money back and the health department would close down their restaurant. I have stayed at better places for about the same prices or even cheaper.

I am very annoyed with this hotel, first nothing is the same as the photos, the pools are very dirty, according to they offer a slide on the site and it is always closed besides that throughout the hotel there are no lifeguards the rooms are very small if you ask for extra towels They deny you there are no irons in the rooms and since you arrive in the room there are many ants the service is bad and be careful because when you check out they do not let you go until they check your room and look for a way to charge you extra for everything if you dirty the towels

So dissappointed.

Not sure what the picture represents, but there was no slide at the Alba Suites. There was barely running water. The beds had concrete pedestals (yes like prison). The refrigerator was a defrosted mess and wouldn't work until after maintenance came in. Just a sad, dilapidated mess for which we paid a premium. So dissappointed.

The swimming pool is too crowded. Room next door is having a very loud music until the wee hours. Good for if you wanna party the whole night but not with little kids in tow. The beach is not nice. Not for little kids. The room have an unpleasant smell. We arrive at 6 pm and check out right away the following morning. We didn’t enjoy too much crowd

Nice view, but too hot to enjoy in or out. A/C impossibly noisy! Sewage stink throughout, WORSE in our room! Complaints barely regarded. Huge distances between rooms and anything with many, many stairs. Impossible to go anywhere without breaking into serious sweat! Moved to a much better and more friendly accomodation 100 meters away. Same view. Quiet A/C. No stink. Friendly staff. Cleaner. AND CHEAPER!! Go to Aristos Hotels, instead!

Friendly Alba Suites

The staff was friendly but their English limited at the reception area. We were showed to our accommodation promptly The hotel is older and there was more stairs than we expected to access our edifice.
The edifice elevator was not always cooperating. The room was clean, good size fridge, there was a beautiful breeze on the balcony. We also had a nice view of the city. It was quiet. The bus service to the Caleta beach and shopping area was really appreciated. They have a lot of long term, friendly, Canadian guests and they guided us around. We had a relaxing week at Alba suites, the pools were clean and enjoyable. The pool chairs comfortable. Their convenience store was really handy.

Modest Room, Great Bay View!

A humble hotel near old town center, 1 block up the hill from ACA Yacht Club (north bay). Our Beach Club room was a long walk from Reception but the view from our balcony more than made up for it! Skip the hotel restaurant... Public beach is a short walk, (2) OXXO stores nearby, several local places for very casual eats, and a good hair salon next door.
We're glad we had a kitchenette, for breakfast & snacks. We'll go back if we are in ACA again.
NOTE: TAXIS DON'T HAVE METERS!!! Ask driver for rate before closing the door...

I won't come back here again

Needless to say I had a very unpleasant experience staying at the Alba Suites that I booked through Expedia. Both the services and environment were sorely lacking.
The services from housekeeping were not the best, I asked for a few pool towels and the lady at the place refused to give them to me because she said there was a towel schedule! The jacuzzi was available for only 4 hours a day. The “bath” towels were kind of hand towels. There were never any beach towels available to go to the Beach Club. The bathroom door had slits which meant there was no privacy between the bathroom and the bedroom. The water from the shower smelled like sewage.
The two free upgrade you advertised on my reservation, were only available by investing in a time share!
The main issue here is the environment and the poor services that we received in relation to the price we paid.
I'm used to traveling and staying in a variety of hotels that provide a standard quality of service expected. I definitely won’t be recommending wasting your money on this place and it certainly isn’t worth the service for the price you pay. Furthermore I am disappointed in Expedia for not being sufficiently knowledgeable about the hotels they allow to be advertised and will certainly have to reconsider whether to use your services in the future.

A wonderful experience for the kids! They will stay at the tobogan all day and won't remember anything else! !
The restaurant is too hot so it's better to order and eat in your room.
They have free internet acess (sometimes the signal isn't too good but it's free) all over the hotel!

Great budget friendly hotel!

Awesome ocean view room for cheap! Everything met or exceeded standard. I read the previous review about loud music on weekends, so I asked for a room away from the noise and it worked! We (my hubby and I) got the top floor but there was rain storm first night and it leaked. They moved us to a better room next day and we were happily ever after. This hotel house army/armed polices. They live there, we see them everywhere we go in that hotel, and that makes this hotel safest hotel in Acapulco (I believe). I give 3 stars on location because it's located on a hill that requires us to walk down hill to catch a bus and walk up hill to go back to hotel. It was very tough for me - you'd better be in good shape for this. I give 4 stars on room cleanliness and comfort because there were a few little tiny ants (the kind that run real fast) around the sink. But overall is great!

The pictures on the site did not lie. My confirmation had “breakfast included.\" They fought me on giving me the vouchers. I went to the front desk around 8am, they told me they would call me back when the manager would arrive. By 9:30 I hadn't received a call, so i went back to the front desk which was quite a walk as the property has 7 or 8 buildings with a lot of steps and ramps. They made me have a seat, and 15 mins later, they gave me the vouchers. The rooms come with a kitchenette however you have to go pick up the kitchen items at a separate building. When we tried to return the items upon checkout, they tried to charge us for items that were not listed on our receipt. Police were everywhere in full uniform carrying their large weapons. They took up all the parking, with the hotel calling my room at 2 in the morning saying i had to move my car because i wasn't allowed to park there! Also, they say they offer free wi-fi, it’s not strong enough to do anything with! We were at the pool and when we arrived back in our rooms, several items had been stolen. Treated very poorly, told by a night manager that he didn't care and that it was our fault for leaving it in the room. Our time was wasted dealing with an incompetent night manager. We returned the next two mornings, nothing solved. Alba suites had the facilities to be great, but failed miserably on service and hospitality. Also, the staff did not know English. Very disappointed.

Nice experience, no high expectations but pleasant stay.

First trip to Acapulco, so didn't knew what to expect, only what I reviewed online from previous clients.

For starters, the hotel is about an hour drive from the airport (during non-peak hours), located on a nice friendly, calm area, no discos, bars nearby, but there's plenty of VW beetle cabs that can take you anywhere for an extremely low fare rate.

Rooms are just basic, no top notch, but it worked just great for me, the balcony had a perfect day or night ocean view to where the yacht area is.
Several pools, not so crowded, but what I loved was the private sea pools, I would've stayed there all day.
I might have expected more attention from the staff but it was ok, most of them where very polite and helpful, maybe I wanted to be pampered from the minute I entered the hotel.

One thing that might upset new visitors, the hotel is kind of a temporary location for federal police. Lots of armed officers are hosted at the facilities, didn't bothered me at all, I even felt more \"secure\", but that's just my opinion.

In general, It's a very nice hotel, I would dare to say it's more family oriented. I would come back if I get an opportunity, no doubt, more pros than cons, but then again I'm very versatile.

You get what you pay for and quite a bit more...

First of all, the hotel is very economic. Therefore, don´t expect five-star treatment. For Mexico, the hotel is pretty nice. You have to understand that the hotels that most Americans are accustomed to translate to the more expensive ones here south of the border.

The only thing I'd like to stress about the hotel is that it is about 45 min away from the airport. This can be a quite costly cab ride. Luckily, there exists shared-rides. You can travel with strangers in a cab from the airport and pay considerably less.

Also, since the hotel is kind of far off, there isn't much to do in terms of restaurants, clubs or shopping.

However, it was nice not being surrounded by hotels. There was a nice view of the bay too.

So, for the money, this hotel is great. But the location could be a problem or a win for you depending on what you are going to Acapulco for.

We were a little surprised

This hotel was a good base to visit several nice beach locations. We were however surprised that about 40 Federal Police moved in during the second half of our stay. Our group was somewhat concerned.
Also the staff has a very poor command of English. I realize that we are in their country but since tourism is a very important part of their culture, I don't think that its unreasonable for the wait staff to have a basic understanding of the foods that they serve with such a limited menu. The last day that we were there no one at our table of four got what they ordered at breakfast.

Surprised because of Location

This hotel was not what I thought it would be. I read reviews and understood that it was not by the tourist zone, but I saw that it was mentioned that it was close. The hotel was very far away from the touristy area which would require wasting time getting there everyday. I wish I would have done more research. The hotel was too far away for us since we were going for a short vacation.

I would recommend this place to someone who is trying to get away from it all and just relax. The beach at the hotel is definitely not a beach, it's water next to a parking space for boats. There are many pools on site as well as places to eat where it is very affordable to buy food. The rooms are very simple, but ours came with a kitchenette which we did not plan on using.

When going here, if you want a view, it will take a hike getting there. Our room was about a ten minute walk from the lobby. Though it is a very big area, as long as you are inside the hotel premises you will be fine, but we were told that it is dangerous outside at night. We went to la Quebrada on the first night which is very close to Alba Suites and it only cost about $3 to get there. We left after this first day only because it was not the environment we were looking for.

If I wanted to get away from everything and just be relaxed during vacation, I would consider staying here again.

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alba Suites. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we had fun visiting the several pools and water slide. In addition to having a salt water pool built in the bay, the hotel is also easy walking distance from a sandy Pacific beach. Thanks to its location away from the city center, the hotel area was wonderfully quiet and relaxed. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. While another review complained that their kitchenette did not include any pots or pans, there are bilingual signs posted over the sink asking visitors to check those items out from the office as needed. Our only issue during our stay was that the shower floor was not sloped steeply enough towards the drain, allowing some water to run out under the door. I would definitely return to Alba Suites next time I'm looking for an inexpensive, relaxing stay in Acapulco.

\"Familiar\" means families and there were lots of little kids, well behaved and restricted to two of the five pools. I was the only gringo, which is fine and made me aware that I was in another country rather than the golden zone high rise hotels which are like Miami or Cancun. The only problem was noise: young neighbors who played loud, bad music 20 hours a day (I got my room changed); a terrible band in the outdoors bar til 11:00pm weekends; and a children's birthday party under a tent that sounded like chuck e cheese's til 10:00pm. Otherwise, the price, service, location, view and helpful staff were great.

Nice Hotel....no beach

Hotel Suites Alba is a good hotel if you have kids due to the water slide they have running daily. They have 3-4 pools including a salt water surf pool at the bayside. It's quiet and the views are beautiful. The only issue I could say is that there is no beach (no sand), and it's not located near the tourist zones, so no shops to walk to. It is quiet, but you'll have to drive or take a taxi to get to the tourist zones. This hotal is located all the way around on the peninsula, heading towards La Quebrada (cliff divers). There is a great view of the yacht harbor in the bay in front of the hotel. Go here if you get a good price and you have kids, as they will love the waterslide. One more thing, the A/C units seem to be programed to stay at 25 degrees celcius after 12 midnight. During the day it's programable to set it lower.

Great Place but Far from Downtown

Was in Acapulco for daughter's wedding. This place is where Mexicans go to vacation and I was the only American I found in the place. That is what I liked about the place. Music played every night from live band below my balcony. Communication was sketchy at times, but I got what I needed. Located a couple of miles out of Central District which meant higher cab fares varying from $7 - $30. Several swimming pools, family oriented with night clubs and restaurant and access to beach area.

Una estancia aceptable, pero con inconvenientes notables
Esta es la cuarta vez que me hospedo en el Hotel Alba Suites, y aunque el hotel cumple con lo básico, hay varios aspectos que dejan mucho que desear. En mi reserva, solicité específicamente una habitación cerca de la recepción o de la entrada principal, pero no pudieron asignármela. En su lugar, me ubicaron en el último edificio, ya que los primeros están ocupados por un gran número de policías –parece un verdadero cuartel–. Hay más de 100 agentes todos los días, y a veces resulta molesto cruzarse con ellos en los pasillos, especialmente porque van fuertemente armados.
En cuanto a la habitación, encontré problemas de mantenimiento: la cerradura de la puerta se estaba cayendo, y la caja de seguridad no funcionaba. Llamé a recepción inmediatamente al llegar, pero nunca enviaron a nadie para arreglarlo. El personal es escaso y poco amable; ni siquiera recibí una bienvenida adecuada al check-in.
En general, el hotel está limpio y ofrece buenos precios, lo que lo hace una opción viable si no te importa estar rodeado de policías y tolerar algo de falta de mantenimiento. Recomendaría verificar las condiciones de la habitación al llegar y no esperar un servicio excepcional.

Tuve que pedir cambio de habitación ante las sábanas manchadas, mesas niveladas con papel higiénico y mesas oxidadas. Huecos en las paredes. Después, otras con pulgas en la cama, más manchas y habitaciones muy descuidadas. Restaurante con poca calidad. Es lamentable el descuido de unas impresionantes instalaciones. De paso, pedí una noche más cuando le dieron una habitación aceptable, y me querían cobrar 600 pesos más.

Lo que no me gustó es que en ningún lado comentan que las instalaciones están repletas de escaleras, en caso de llevar a alguien con la mínima discapacidad se vuelve un tormento

Al igual que se publicitan, que cuentan con estacionamiento, lo que nunca dicen es que es muy pequeño y queda sujeto a disponibilidad, lo que repercute en que tú auto se quede estacionado en la calle.

El aire acondicionado era muy viejo y hace un ruido muy fuerte y molesto que no te deja dormir.
Para bajar a la playa el acceso es difícil y para regresar al hotel son alrededor de 100 escaleras, tengo 59 años y una lesión en la rodilla y no me permitieron utilizar el elevador porque no califico como persona de la 3a edad

Me gusta el hotel, solo que en esta ocasión durante nuestra estancia no tuvimos línea telefónica, y dos días no tuvimos T.V. Solo una persona nos hizo caso y nos dio los motivos eso fue un dia antes de salir.
Tuvimos la mala fortuna de quedarnos sin luz, pedimos al restaurante apoyo para calentar algo, y nos negó el servicio.

Esta bien

La estancia estuvo agradable. La playa que tiene hasta abajo esta muy bonita. Las instalaciones son antiguas pero esta limpio. El tobogan funciona bien. El aire acondicionado enfria perfecto. Lo unico es que es cansado tanta escalera ya que tiene muchos niveles.

El estacionamiento no está garantizado y una noche debí dejar mi auto fuera en medio de una tempestad. Tuve que cruzar todo el hotel a pie para llegar empapado a mi habitación que tenía un edor a humedad terrible, sillas de plástico sucias (con un cacahuate que se mantuvo toda mi estancia ahí), sin colchas, regadera oxidada, asiento del baño quemado con cigarro, AC no regulable, TV pequeña y con mala señal, internet mala o nula y no incluyen desayunos. Además, el guardia del estacionamiento muy grosero. Este hotel no es de 4 estrellas.

el hotel necesita mantenimiento, el aire acondicionado estaba muy viejo y casi no enfriaba nada, además todo ya esta viejo y necesita renovación, lo que más me gustó fue la alberca, pero permiten que la gente este comiendo y tomando alcohol en la alberca y es molesto.

Es evidente que la reconstrucción del puerto va avanzando, sin embargo sería importante que en la descripción de la propiedad se mencionara las condiciones de las instalaciones, por ejemplo la herrería de algunos balcones se encuentra oxidados, el tobogán no se encuentra en funcionamiento, espero pronto se puedan atender estas dificultades.

Nada que ver con las fotos, las instalaciones son muy viejas, necesita bastante mantenimiento, me toco en 4 piso y el elevador no servia, el tobogan no funciono, hacia bastante calor y los aires acondcionados no sirven, lo unico rescatable son sus albercas.

Estuvo muy agradable la estancia en general. Los espacios están un poco descuidados pero se entiende por la situación que acaban de pasar.

El acceso al mar es lo único que no me encantó, está muy sucio, de ahí en fuera todo está bien.

Habitación vieja y con olor a humedad, colchones con resortes salidos y aire acondicionado que hace un ruido insoportable.
