My recent stay at Encanto Hotel in acapulco following the aftermath of Otis left me with mixed feelings. The property has impressively restored the hotel, but certain aspects of my experience gave me pause.
The restoration efforts undertaken by the property post-Otis cannot be overlooked. The hotel has done a commendable job in bringing the property back to its former glory, which is truly praiseworthy.
However, I was disappointed by the prevalence of hidden fees, particularly the daily service charges that were not explicitly communicated upfront. I paid more in service charges and tips than the costo of food and beverage.

Additionally, the lack of complimentary in-room coffee in the mornings was somewhat surprising and felt like an inconvenience.
Moreover, the inconsistency in service was evident during my visit. On multiple occasions, I found myself having to actively seek out waitstaff at the pool area, which detracted from the overall relaxation and enjoyment of the facilities. Attention to detail seemed lacking in some areas, and I believe this is an aspect that could be improved upon.
While the hotel's restoration efforts are commendable, the issues of hidden fees, service inconsistencies, and attention to detail detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable stay. I hope that these areas can be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience in the future.\"

I was hesitant to go to Acapulco with recent crimes. However, to get to Encanto you must pass 3 guard gates. It is also about 30-40 minutes outside “old” Acapulco.
Encanto was clean, (for English travelers) everyone spoke English, simple elegance, service was amazing and private. The views are spectacular.
Another highlight was the private dinner my husband scheduled for our 30th anniversary. They gave us a private balcony, a custom menu with wine, a private server and candle and roses all around.
We really enjoyed having our own patio with an ocean view including a pool. And there is 24/7 room service.
There isn’t a concierge, but the front desk staff is helpful. They know the history of Acapulco, the old Hollywood romance and shows and local attractions.

This is an amazing hotel and it's been many time I go there however this time there was no hot water in our room for 3 days and the only answer we got from the reception was..\"we are sorry\"... So huge disappointment for this trip.

The manager, Ilyana, would not honor the VIP upgrade. She claimed that there was some sort of error, yet hotels.com confirmed that there was no error. This was a blatant manipulation and everyone should be warned that this hotel clams to support the VIP program but when you check in they say that they do not.

My stay at Encanto Acapulco was wonderful! I celebrated my birthday with an Ocean Villa room here and will never forget it! We only left the resort once and spent the rest of the weekend in the amazing pool area downstairs. The food was perfect, and the chef even sent a beautiful surprise birthday cake up to my room.

Beyond the superficial aspects of the hotel (the beautiful view, the spa, the room service) the staff was courteous, professional and extremely helpful. They went out of their way to service us many times and were very patient with our mixed/limited Spanish. The ambiance is unreal, the structure and view of the hotel are almost dystopian in its beauty and everything is extremely sanitary. The place is almost entirely accessible for wheelchair users as well! 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend staying here!

Encanto Acapulco fue maravillosa! ¡Celebré mi cumpleaños aquí y nunca lo olvidaré! Solo salimos del resort una vez, pero pasamos el resto en la increíble área de la piscina y de abajo y cenamos en Origen. La comida era perfecta, y el chef incluso envió un pastel de cumpleaños a mi habitación. El personal del hotel fue cortés, profesional y extremadamente servicial. Hicieron todo lo posible para atendernos y fueron muy pacientes con nuestro español mixto / limitado. El ambiente es irreal, la estructura y la vista del hotel son casi distópico.
¡El lugar es casi completamente accesible para usuarios de sillas de ruedas también! 10/10 recomiendo quedarse aquí

Designed by architect, Miguel Angel Aragones, the hotel’s gorgeous design informs every aspect of the location and property with plays of light and gorgeous vistas at every turn.

Encanto is a unique and special property that brings modern elegance to Acapulco. The rooms are gorgeous and super clean and the design is very well thought out. I found the service to be excellent and the staff were all so friendly and extremely helpful.

The hotel manager, Enrique, was always on property and available to make sure your stay was nothing less than perfect. The concierge and check-in staff were so personable and made everything so easy – especially Dafne, Fanny, Arantza and Jessicya. The restaurants were lovely as was dining by the pool in a cabana – Candido, Jose, Julio, Ricardo and Hugo were all was super attentive and accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure that my stay was flawless. I had a fantastic massage in the Spa while I was there and highly recommend Patricia who was extremely helpful with booking and showing me the spa and was an excellent masseuse.

I highly recommend this gorgeous property and look forward to returning again.

I stayed in a room with its private pool and curtain isn't blackout and early morning the sun is directly on that side . A/C Works but don’t expect the roll to be cold , it will maintain the temperature around 72/73 F.

A Contemporary Oasis in Acapulco

The hotel was absolutely amazing. The views and the architecture are so beautiful they are almost surreal. The pool is the most beautiful our family has experienced at any resort. We spent entire days in the water. The views from the pool cannot be compared to. The water was the perfect temperature, there are areas of shade and areas of sun as well as in pool seating. The pool service was stellar. In addition the rooms are stunning. Every detail has been considered and we enjoyed our time in the rooms almost as much as in the pool and walking around the grounds.
Given all of this, I cannot give a 5 rating even though I wish I could. We feel the food at this hotel is not the right fit for the hotel. It feels there is an attempt to make the food eccentric due to contemporary nature of the setting. However we felt that if they had stuck with the basics of both traditional Mexican and International cuisine, the food experience would have been greatly improved.
Our family will certainly be returning to El Encanto and hopefully by then the food will match the extraordinary ambience.

Nice room and surroundings but pool area needs upgrading and repaired. Pool staff not really interested but evening, restaraunt staff are excellent. Manager seems bored. Food and drinks very overpriced and very average. Towels and plastic glasses for pool are all stained and horrible. As usual, for Mexico, clients are just there to milk not to serve. Locals use the hotel for breakfast and as an upmarket garage motel. Acapulco is extremely dangerous now so this will be my last of 20+ visits over the years.

Encanto Acapulco very nice

Very nice resort set high on the bay wall. The view of the bay, the sun setting and the sun rising is something that I cannot describes in words. They simply take your breath away. The rooms are wonderful, clean, neat and have all the amenities. The food is absolutely to die for. I think we tried everything on the menu and it was all delicious, cooked to perfection.

Should you need a driver while staying at the Encanto Acapulco I highly recommend Carlos Lobato. He was so kind, drove us all over Acapulco, reguardless of the time or the place. He was simply amazing. All the the staff was actually.

The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The food is all good. If you have been wanting to go to a hotel, and just relax in it, this is the place to go. The architecture is a true jewel, and nothing beats the view to the sunset. However, if you plan on going places, make sure you plan well and factor in the time and cost of transportation. The hotel is on the other side of Acapulco Bay, so make sure you have a clean taxi with AC (in Mexico AC is an optional). You do not want to be stuck in traffic in a cab with no AC under 100+ Farenheit.

Beautiful Architecture and Incredible Views

Stayed at this hotel for a week in one of their rooms with private pool. The architecture of the hotel and views to the Pacific and Acapulco Bay are incredible. The room itself was beautiful and could have used a little more detailed cleaning effort by the maids, but overall was visually pleasing. The sliding glass doors from the room to the patio are extremely difficult to open and do not secure properly to lock. If you are an older couple like us, it takes significant effort to pull the doors open to enjoy the patio. The staff overall is excellent and eager to help you in any way you need. The hotel is isolated with only homes around it, so if you want to enjoy other restaurants and night life, you HAVE to take an overpriced hotel taxi around town. They will not let you walk off of the hotel grounds. The food in the hotel restaurants is very good, but dinners are pricey with limited options. Overall, we would recommend the hotel for a short visit of a couple of days, but not for a week-long vacation unless you are only coming to lay by the pool. For those interested in knowing Acapulco outside the hotel, there are better located hotels.

Modern hotel with beutiful view see and bay with friendly staff that is far from beach (10 miles), restaurant and any road. As of result you are stuck to use the hotel over rated restaurant with extremely high prices (10 us$ for 32oz bottel water) for over rated food. Review your charges daily or you never can fighter your bill as not only is not English but some charges are dubble and in our case in triple for same items. Do not use the Taxi service in hotel or you be charge two and half times of regular price ($470 v $200 Mexican).
I do not recommend this hotel.

Encanto is special...firstly, it is an architectural marvel...meticulous attention to detail, thoughtful design ...I could go on!
Next, its probably the best location not just in Acapulco but perhaps in the world..and I am comparing it to Cape Town, Sydney, San Francisco..etc. Nothing comes even close.
We stayed in the corner room..201. Highly recommend that you pay extra and get the corner room. You see 3 different parts of the city and water...almost a 270 deg view.
We are foodies and passionate about good service. In my own business, we burn ourselves trying to please the customer. So to see everyone in the team, right from Enrique - the GM down to Edgar, Brendan and Said who served us at breakfast and pool...awesome service...thanks guys! You are the best.

This hotel has one of the best designs I seen. Beautiful architecture, lighting and views of the bay. The staff is very attentive, and always willing to help. We stayed in a room with a private pool which we enjoyed a lot. The restaurant is beautiful, and the food is good and reasonably priced. The only complaint I have is the room cleanliness, don't get me wrong, it is clean, but it lacks attention to detail, specially for a hotel of this class.

El Encanto is an incredible hotel. The architecture is out of this world! The location is outstanding but far away from all the activities and beaches around Acapulco. If you don't have a car, like we did, you are stuck at the hotel. You have to pay a very expensive taxi fare from the hotel to take you anywhere, or call a taxi from the nearby taxi location.
We had a very unpleasant couple of experiences when they charged double - at the restaurant - and charged us for items taken from the mini bar, which we did not take. We had to change our bills constantly so that this mistake was not repeated.
The hotel also charges you a Service Fee every day. It was explained to me that the charge was for all the employees that were making my stay so pleasant, like: gardeners, office workers, pool attendants, etc.

El Encanto is a beautiful place, I don't believe there are better views of the Acapulco Bay. Staff is beyond friendly and helpful and the food at El Origen was great. Ask for Candido, the sommelier, he will recommend the best wines to go with your food. Most definitely coming back soon.

We had a wonderful time at Encanto. First of all the architecture of the resort is just stunning and it has unbelievable views of the bay and ocean! Our room was quite comfortable and every need was attended to. The staff was attentive and very friendly. They even helped us as we tried to speak in Spanish! We thought the food was outstanding. The chef at Encanto is fabulous! There were so many wonderful options on the menu for us to choose from, unfortunately we didn't get to them all!
We had a wonderful relaxing time it truly is a place to get away from it all.

The hotel was great, it was just really expensive, drinks, taxi and food added up to more than the room cost. Since you can't drink the water from the tap they should really provide drinkable water in the room since it is super hot and humid, as a courtesy. The view were great, the staff was excellent. You have to get the hotel car to drive you anywhere , walking from the hotel anywhere is not an option. The hotel is affiliate with a beach club , the beach club was nice, but there are nicer ones.

WOW!

It was a different kind of experience when I checked in at the hotel. Been to a lot of places all over the world but this was a genius creation - the price and creativity of this hotel has been unbeatable! staff were very friendly, first time I stayed at a hotel where I decided to stay and not taken any excursions.

Excellent Time in Acapulco

We stayed over the weekend with another couple of friends and had a great time! The pool was gorgeous, excellent room, super friendly staff and breakfast / lunch. This is more of an adult and I would seriously recommend for romance or hanging out with friends.

Perfect Secluded Getaway

Great for a couples/intimate secluded getaway. Service is impeccable, views are amazing, facilities are gorgeous. Downsides: limited menu and distance/cost to get to tourist area, activities and outside restaurants make this difficult for extended stays. Will absolutely return for long weekends. Did I mention the service and views??

Great hotel with phone/internet service issues

Overall it was a positive experience. However, I had a big problem with getting in touch with anyone in the hotel in the days leading up to my stay. We had agreed on a romantic private dinner package (to propose to my girlfriend) over the phone earlier in the week. Three days before my stay, I get an e-mail saying that they wouldn't be able to accommodate my request. Then they fell off the face of the planet - wouldn't call me back or reply to my e-mails until the day before my stay!! I had to scramble to develop plans b, c, and d for my proposal. Luckily, they made up for the chaos they caused by offering me a better package for the same price. It turns out they were having issues with their internet and phone service.

Great View!

This is an absolutely beautifull place. Great pool with outstanding view of Bay. Very comfy rooms. Get a corner room for best view. Restaraunt food was good but not great. Only drawback was its a little far from town, but is close to airport.

World Class facility, drop-dead gorgeous views. Architect Miguel Angel Aragones should be very proud. This is among the best facilities I have ever stayed in. Really special. Value was also quite good. The staff was very eager to please, but if I had one tip for them, it would be to hire a world-class Concierge.
