At check-in the credit card from Hotels.com/Expedia was denied. It was different than the card I had booked the room with, the card in my Hotels.com account. My spouse who was staying at the hotel had to pay for it. Therefore, we were charged twice. I will be calling Chase Bank to dispute the original payment which had already been charged. I will also call Hotels.com regarding this error.

Check-in is at 4 p.m. I arrived after 6 p.m. due to flight delays and my room wasn’t ready. I left to grab something to eat to kill time. The appeared as if it was made instead of fresh linen. The base of the toilet had pee on it, and the bathroom floor was dirty. The room was located at the side entrance where guests enter and exit through out the night. It was like I was punished because I didn’t check in at 4 p.m. Upon checking in I told the lady at the front desk I needed to speak to a manager because I shouldn’t have to wait on my room two hours after check-in time. She conveyed to me that a manager would be in the next morning and they were short staffed. That’s not my problem. I paid for a service up front and was highly disappointed. As I checked out, a couple employees made a code-gesture as if it were the code for, “Whiner/Complainer.” I don’t normally say anything, but this experience took the cake. Employees at places as such need to realize the customers pay their salaries. Plus, if they don’t like their jobs, they should quit! I would not recommend any take their family there.

breakfast was included and good, room was not clean clean when we got in, bathroom had traces of mildew, the king size bed in my suite was probably the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever laid on, I felt like I was in Japan laying on a knee mat at a dinner table, the pillows were like 2 dryer sheets wrapped around a handful of cotton swabs. I expected more comfort for the Hilton price tag

We were there for my brother's wedding and reserved a suite months in advance, only to arrive and find our reservation had been cancelled. We stood at the check-in desk for a long time, my 82-year-old mother worried sick that we didn't have a room. We finally got a room that was terribly FILTHY and run-down. Torn carpet, frayed and lifting carpet, stained and frayed furniture, dirty dishes in the cabinet, drawer in the kitchen in pieces when pulled out, filthy windows, curtains falling, and not being able to close them. It was the grossest room we have ever stayed in. Starting at seven in the morning, slamming doors for the storage and room outside of our door. If this were on my credit card, I would stop payment immediately.

The hotel met our requirements and the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. We arrived around check in time but the room wasn't ready. The lady at reception said she would check, and 40 minutes later still hadn't returned. Another staff member offered us an alternate room which we accepted. Rooms are serviced every other day. Generally seemed clean although kitchen floor felt a bit sticky, and a bit of what appeared to be mould on lounge ceiling.
Had guest laundry which was good, small snack and drink bar. Cannot comment on breakfast as we did not try it.

All of the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful from check in to check out. The room was nice, although I think it could've been a little cleaner. There were some areas where there was visible dust or dirt but overall the room was clean enough. The bed was very comfortable for us too. The breakfast provided was very nice and they had a lot of options. The only other thing I would critique is the furniture. The couch and chair in our room and the furniture available during breakfast were a little more worn than I'd like. I think if I were staying in this area again, I'd come back to this hotel.

We like with us hotels located I made the reservation for Expedia and a couple of days before we arrived. I modify the reservation to shorten it by one day. Apparently Expedia and hotel didn’t communicate and I got charged with the extra day and I’m told that my cancellation was too late and violated the cancellation policy. Life goes on, but I won’t no longer book hotels through Expedia and will book directly with the hotels.

I booked one night stay, the front desk was professional and got me checked in. The room was ok, I went to take a shower - unfortunately there were no shower gel that was out along with body lotion that was in the room. I went down to the front desk, they sent someone up with what I asked for. I was disappointed how the toiletries were not checked, shower curtain looked raggedy as I understand it's a wear and tear... They could do better especially with the housekeepers.

I have stayed at this hotel before and had a good experience, yet this time not really.

BEWARE and read the many negative google reviews on this place prior to booking. I wish I had. This hotel is absolutely disgusting from start to finish. We stopped here with my 3 year old after a 9 hour drive to stay the night. The pool area was strewn with dirty towels and I question the cleanliness of the pool as the water was extremely cloudy. Our room had not been cleaned in some time as there were red stains on the sheets, spider webs and bugs in all corners, visible food residue on cabinets, counters and eating areas in kitchen. To top off this lovely experience you could hear literally everything from the room next door. When we laid our 3 year old down for bed, we listened to a couple swearing/screaming and in a physical altercation. At this point we decided to have all 3 of us sleep on the pull out couch in the common area which felt like sleeping on a pile of rocks and was also filthy. We are both disappointed and disgusted at the lack of standards of such a big name.

This was a hidden gem for me because I ALL the years of driving around that area, I never noticed the hotel but I am glad I did.
The front staff were so nice. The breakfast was delicious and I loved the variety. One suggestion, have a waffle machine. Lol. The room was very comfortable and clean. I will be reserving rooms in the future.

Stayed at Homewood Suites for an overnight to attend a graduation in West Hartford. Was in a great location, the room was spacious and clean. I was really comfortable in my room even though I only needed the night. Two detractors though were the wifi didn't work, and the drain in the tub wouldn't stop running. I'm sure both of these could have been resolved if I reached out, but only staying the one night I made do. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was a plus.

The entry road had very deep potholes at the entry to the parking lot. Our first room had a non functioning toilet, our second room had loose handles on the bathroom sink.
The emergency exit door area was rusting away. The side entrance door wouldn’t open even though the card access showed green

Yes, I would go back.

This was the perfect place for us to stay on a quick business trip to Hartford. It is just outside of Hartford, near shopping, restaurants, etc. The drive from the hotel to UConn, the Mark Twain and Beecher-Stowe houses, and the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History could not have been easier. The staff was very helpful.

Our suite was a nice size and very clean. Much larger than most city hotels and complete with a small kitchen and lounge area. Breakfast was very satisfying.

There were a few minor downsides which may be more important to some:
-The complimentary local shuttle has a 5-mile limit. That will get you to some of the shops and restaurants, but falls just short of the tourist sites.
-The hotel is rather spartan in terms of decor. (I think that the maintenance guy that told me \"If we put a clock in the pool area, kids will rip it off of the wall and throw it like a frisbee,\" sums up the decor style.) The pool shower area is nice. Add some shampoo, a bench and a few hooks to the room and it would be great. Add a clock so guests can tell what time it is. The room keys did not work in the pool door the day I went.

Have stayed here before, but really noticed this time how run-down it is getting. Rooms are ok but not super clean, mattresses getting old and lumpy. Bath towels were nice, however. Carpets throughout dirty and getting tattered. Saw several ac and heat registers that were filthy. Outside grounds not well kept, poop recepticals not cleaned. Appeared that someone slept in his/her car overnight near our windows- car had dark track bags hanging out all windows. Pretty disappointing. Will not return

The property was very dirty and unkept. The pool was green. there were flies in the bathroom in the pool area. We found hair in our bathroom when we checked in like it had not been properly cleaned. We asked for clean towel and for our trash to be taken out. they made us come to the desk and get our own towels and they made us put our own trash out at the end of our hall. Anytime we had an issue and there were many they would tell us no management available. We had no hot water for 15 hours on the day we checked out and the night before. they ended up having to refund us and a lot of other people for our entire stay.

He said he put in a call to management, no one ever showed up with towels. I didn't have any towels in the room so we had to go out to nearby store to purchase our own towels to use. Never experienced anything like this in any hotel.

I’ve stayed there multiple times and have enjoyed it! Both Saturday and Sunday we had to be put on a “waitlist” for towels that would get delivered to the room which never got delivered both days. There was no towels in the pool area. When we went to the front desk they stated there was no more towels for the night and the staff had already left and the person didn’t know how to run the dryer.

The location and ease was a plus to this hotel. The staff at the front desk was usually not there. When we tried to check in at 4pm, an hour after check in time, we were told that the room was still not ready and we had to wait. The room itself was nice and spacious but not very clean. Beds were small but comfortable. Breakfast was not good and made us sick, so we didn't have it the second day at all. I did go to the breakfast area to get coffee the following day and saw that the people handling the food did not wear gloves, that may have had something to do with it.

The bed was very comfortable my only issue was the bath tub stopper did not work. I had to take a shower with a spoon in the tub to try and hold up the stopper so the water could drain while taking a shower. Maintenance never came and fix while I was there. I was in room 331 so maybe someone should fix it before the next guest.
