Great location very handy for railway station and connection to airport. Nice pleasant hotel, set in a nice location so didn’t feel like it was in the city. The room was comfortable with everything needed. Very friendly staff and we received a warm welcome on our arrival with great communication using whattsapp. We liked the hands off approach but felt that there would not be an issue if we needed anything further.

A very nice little hotel in a quiet, safe area with a pleasant garden. An easy 20 minute walk to the Promenade and with lots of good eateries nearby.
The duty staff at reception were all very helpful.

Can’t comment on the free breakfast as it was not free.
Make sure you get the room you booked, as we paid, via Expedia, for a deluxe bedroom but were given the simplest on offer.

Charming boutique hotel close to Nice Ville station and shops on Av. Jean Médecin. A bit further from Old Town and Quai des É-U but still walkable. Friendly staff and tasty breakfast. Room was small but very quiet and comfortable with a view of the sunny courtyard. Would stay again.

Our stay was short and sweet. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful and gave us good recommendations for the little time we spent in Nice. I would happily stay here again. It was quiet, tucked away and a 15/20 min walk to the seafront. There are free croissants, infused water and coffee's in the reception area too, which was a nice touch. It's close to the train station so that was handy! :) x

The room was very spacious as we enjoyed a corner room. The door locks were digital and were easy to operate. The shower had great water pressure and I liked the fact that the toilet was separate from the shower room across from each other in the room. There was plenty of room for luggage and closets for clothes. The staff were very helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

A small hotel in a quiet street in Nice

This is a small hotel tucked at the back of the street. So you need to pull your luggage for about 200 feet to get to the hotel from the street. The room is very small but clean. It appears the rooms were renovated from an old building. The location is good, close to the train station. It’s relatively expensive. We paid $250 per night. Breakfast cost $20 pp. We didn’t eat breakfast there, as there are better choices nearby.

First be advised that to get to this Beautique hotel you must enter entrance of Code’Azur hotel. You will not see Maison Durante from the one way street. Chloe was outstanding! She welcomed us and help finding a parking. We had to pay for two parking slots since parking is not easy on this place ( at least has a parking!). This place is not easy for people with moving difficulties. There are many stairs although once inside there is a small elevator to the second floor. For breakfast you can order a la carte many things and everything was cooked well. It is a clean hotel.

The property has a lot of stairs. A couple of very steep ones to get inside, and many within the building, depending on where your room is.

My room smelt of drains. I brought this to the attention of the staff but I guess they couldn't do anything about it, as the smell remained. Generally, the staff were lovely and helpful.

The Maison Durante was the perfect find in Nice. We came here after spending our first 4 nights in Cannes. The property was a quick walk about 2 blocks from the Nice Ville train. The hotel was exactly what I was looking for; a true French boutique. There is a courtyard with wrought iron table and chairs and trees for shade which is the perfect place for your early morning coffee. The hotel offers made-to-order breakfast but we already had outside reservations for our 2 nights in Nice. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. The staff was also wonderful and was proactive in making sure we had all the information we needed for arriving from Cannes and for our plans for the rest of our Riviera holiday. The location was convenient, close to the train and trams yet an easy 15 minute walk to the beach and other sights. Overall, a lovely stay and I would absolutely book here again.

I had an overall good stay at Maison Durante. The property coordinated my check in on WhatsApp to make the process a breeze. The room was clean and nice and the location was very convenient. My only complaint is an odor in the bathroom, not sure if it was due to facilities condition or improper cleaning.

I chose this hotel to be close to the train and stayed for one night. Julie greeted me at Frontdesk and was amazing from start to finish. She held my baggage before check-in and I was able to take a trip and come back before check-in. The hotel itself is very beautiful and very secure and safe. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in and the checkout was seamless as well. All the Frontdesk stuff were super kind and helpful and I loved my stay here and highly recommend this hotel

This is a great place to stay. We had booked two suits for the adults kids and us and they are spaced for France and clean.
The breakfast selection was just right and getting free sparkling drinking water as much as you need, was highly appreciated during the hot days.
Staff is outstanding in sevice and advices and the check in was quick.
Can highly recommend this place and would stay again.
Close to train station if needed and only a short 15 min walk to the flower market and the beach.

Room cleaning and any communication was easily done via WhatsApp.

This was a perfect place for me to stay in Nice.

First, it is accessed via mews, in the interior of the block, so it does not border a street or sidewalk, meaning there is zero traffic noise. That's a real blessing for me.

Second, housekeeping is by request only, so the environmental and labour costs of housekeeping are minimized. The bed was perfectly firm for me, and linens/pillows very comfortable. Shower and bathroom generally were spacious and worked well.

Third, the location is great - very near an SNCF station and about a five minute walk from the nearest metro tram station at Jean Medecin.

Fourth, they reached out to me a day or two ahead of time and provided good directions to the hotel.

I really liked this place - I will certainly consider staying here again on my next visit to Nice.

We enjoyed our stay. This is a wonderful little gem of a hotel. The rooms were refreshed and newly remodeled. The location is walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. You feel like they have welcomed you into their home. Breakfast is fantastically made to order by chef Christopher. He may be the nicest person in the city of Nice. We would definitely stay here again.

Love this property. The hosts, Emma and Julie were both fabulous. They were very accommodating and helpful. They’re very responsive to all our inquiries. The rooms are well appointed, beds are comfortable and love the fact that it’s a 5 min walk to the Nice Ville GARD train station. Highly recommend this hotel if you visit Nice. It’s only a nice 20 minute walk to Old Town and their central plaza area!! Lots of cafe and restaurants within 5-10 min walk from the hotel. They have a little courtyard where you can have your coffee and breakfast in the morning!! Would definitely stay here again!!

Fantastic Boutique hotel.

It is an extraordinary boutique hotel with lovely courtyard with flowers and trees.
The staff, Chloe, Julie and Emma hosted us like at home. Breakfast is elaborate and excellent. Maison Durante is right across the Nice ville railway station proximity to the tram line to visit the old town, sea side and café, restaurants, sightseeing, etc.

Really enjoyed our stay at Maison Durante. Spacious room which overlooked the patio. Staff were friendly, showing us to our room. Closely located to the station which is an easy hub to get to other towns and villages nearby. Also relatively short walk to the promenade. Would recommend dining at Voyageur Nissart and stopping by Mariass 1901 for a coffee.

The worst hotel experience. Old, damp and dirty.

This was my worst hotel experience ever. It was so bad that I had to cancel my reservation and find another place to stay. I wish I had the option to give a negative star rating.

We had reserved two suite rooms and were assigned to Rooms 16 and 31. Both rooms felt damp, unclean and outdated, with AC units that didn’t cool properly, and low water pressure.

Room 31 – This was an absolute nightmare. It was extremely humid, and the AC didn’t cool at all. The staff brought us two fans, but they didn’t help. Opening the window wasn’t an option because many mosquitoes would fly in. There was black mold on the ceiling and in the bathroom, a cracked wall, and a dirty rug. The room was so warm and damp that we were sweating as if we’d been swimming. It was simply unacceptable.

Room 16 – It was slightly more acceptable since it’s on the second floor. However, you have to open the window to avoid sweating, which means dealing with a lot of mosquito bites. The door lock was either extremely complicated or just broken—we got stuck in the room three times and had to ask staff to unlock it for us from the outside.

The hotel itself is old and rundown. The staff tried to be helpful, but they couldn’t compensate for the poor condition of the hotel. Both my family and I ended up with numerous mosquito bites. It’s hard to understand how other visitors could give this place a 4-5 star rating.

The only good thing is the location is great, but you can totally find other way better options than

Great location next to the train. A bit of a walk to the promenade but it gives you a nice chance to explore beautiful Nice. My only concern was housekeeping. They only clean your room before 11 upon request. I’ve stayed many times in France and didn’t have this issue. Lots of food options around the area and a market a few blocks down the street.

Everything is great! Staff is so friendly and welcoming, room is spacious and clean and cozy. Breakfast is good with no hot food though. Cheese, ham, pastry, boiled eggs, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, fruits all fresh and delicious.

We had a lovely stay at Maison Durante - we stayed for a week and the Suite was perfect with enough space for us to relax. The hotel in general was great but a few things like it could do with a slightly better clean and the fire alarm went off multiple times with seemingly no staff appearing or knowing what to do. However, the hotel is in a great location, 2 minutes to Nice Ville train station, and a close walk to the beach the main streets in Nice and other transport links. Easily accessible from the airport. Secure access to the hotel and the staff were very helpful with holding luggage before and after check in / out. Would recommend staying at Maison Durante!

Had to open windows at night and the room filled with mosquitoes so we still couldn't sleep. Breakfast was expensive for what was offered & the room was small & over-crowded so it was hard to get to the food. Overall, I was disappointed and found it poor value for money.

My room had a princess balcony that opened on to a pretty courtyard with an orange tree. Despite being in the centre of town, a 3-minute walk from the station, it was lovely and quiet.

Room was comfortable and had its own mini coffee machine. Staff were really helpful.

Breakfast was a surprise. There was a whole table full of home-made sweet and savoury dishes: tarts, filled croissants, crême caramel, clafoutis, breads, as well as the yoghurt, fruit, French cheeses and hams in the fridge. Well worth the extra 20 Euros.

My air conditioning didn’t work, which wasn’t really a problem, as it wasn’t all that hot that week. Am just mentioning it so it can be fixed for the hot summer.

I’ll be back!

This property would have got a 5rating from me except for two items. The first was the air conditioning was not turned on for the entire building. This forced us to keep the window open or close the window with the temp getting 75 . We opted to open the window. Some type of bug got to us (confirmed by doctor at a local clinic) and both my wife and I got 30 bites on the face and shoulder. We had to keep the window closed after that and so nights were hot and sticky.
Breakfast was good and the property maintained well.

We couldn't have selected a better hotel in Nice. Very close to the train station. The hotel and rooms were nicely appointed and had a very boutique/family run vibe to it.

Best of all was the advise and help we received from Manuela in reception. She was extremely courteous and shared her best spots to visit as well as restaurants in the area.

We can't wait to stay there again. If you are going to Nice I would highly recommend this hotel.
