Only stay here if you can't afford better place!

The only good thing about this hotel is its proximity to the train station. The rooms are tiny, and the bathroom is even worse. In my room, sitting on the toilet meant my knees pressed against the shower screen—which itself felt no larger than 2x2 feet. There was no kettle, no coffee machine, not even a cup. I had to buy my own mug just to have tea or coffee. As for the reception, the red-haired staff member should seriously reconsider his career choice—his sarcastic, condescending attitude is completely out of place. French or not, if you work in the service industry, lose the smirk.

This is a great place to stay in Nice! It is a little bit out of the tourist area (less than a 5 min walk and you’ll start to hit those stores and restaurants though) which we preferred. The room was super clean and it had a very cute window with French shutters (loved!!). The staff were very friendly and helpful. You could easily walk to lots of restaurants and shops, a bit of a further walk to old Nice but we were content to walk and see the city! There were also tram stops nearby - which we took back from old Nice if we got tired and to/from the airport.

Amine welcomed us to the hotel, was very outgoing and friendly. He had some great suggestions as to places to go to eat as well as things to do. The staff there was very helpful and accommodating!
The hotel itself is put of the way of touristy areas, but close enough to walk to most places. If walking was a bit distant, the tram is just around the corner. The train is only a few blocks away but the hotel seems very well insulated from sound as we didnt hear any exterior noises.
The room was very spacious for European standards and I was pleasantly surprised. The AC was also very nice to have on hot summer days. I would definitely stay here again!

Good no frills hotel

I was tired after my trip and greatly appreciated the friendliness of the man who checked me in. There's a ramp up to where the elevator is located, so it's easy to navigate with suitcases. Room was small, but that was fine, and the barhroom appears to be recently renovated. It even had a small balcony with a couple of chairs.

Tiny rooms, unclean carpet in the rooms, AC not working, hair dryer runs only for 30-ish seconds (cooldown period of 4-5 minutes).

Staff was not helpful in fixing AC at around 9:30 pm. Some explanation they gave - multiple rooms use same compressor. So if any one room changes “mode” on their remote, all other rooms lose cooling, and that they cannot disturb guests to address it.

This is what you would expect - an old French hotel near the train station. Small rooms and a tad funky. But it has been renovated somewhat and painted up and well maintained. The guy at the desk was outstanding. So it is fine. You can definitely stay here. Just maybe not on your honeymoon. Also it is right by the main shopping district, not the touristic beach area. Lots of dining options. But not the swankier restaurants you will find nearer the water.

This hotel had a prime location very close to the Nice gare which was convenient for travelling to nearby towns like Monaco and Eze. It was also walkable from the central area of Nice and the beach. However, the first night we were there the AC wasn't on, so we had a lot of trouble sleeping with the heat. The wifi didn't work in our room whatsoever so I had to walk outside the room down a floor to use it which was a little inconvenient. For the price it was great but could be better with better wifi and AC.

I thought it was going to be a nice hotel from the pictures.
The pictures do not look like the hotel. I said so but no refund was offered. I wanted to go book somewhere else.
I DID NOT SLEEP ALL NIGHT.
I WAS ITCHY and had WELTS on my arms and back.
What was going on?

Then they have the nerve to charge me 15 euros more for a window. I did not request a basement room. who would request that? They took my visa and charged me.

Hotels did nothing to ask for a refund when I called at 3 am to say it was a terrible hotel. They were very sorry but could do nothing. That is ridiculous. They can provide a refund or give me back my 10 rewards. It was so disappointing.
NEVER book this hotel. ALSO it is not in a nice area.

If I add a photo you will see broken switch plates, a horrible, smelly rug on the floor, a view of a roof and pipes, (with a $23 fee to see, cracks on the doors and sills, and my welts. The bedding had holes in it.
I am sorry Hotel du Midi. You were horrible to me and I will now tell the truth. You stole my 15 euros and my sleep . It was so disappointing. Why didn't you just offer me a refund? Don't show pictures of a nice hotel when it is not. Go to Sonder Mozart and see a nice hotel.

The location is good as it’s a short t walk to the train station and walkable to the sites and beaches. Besides that, the lobby was renovated as per the photos yet our room and hallways had old carpeting and stucco walls. The bathroom had a small shower, no fridge as stated in the website yet it was nice to have a balcony.

Great location - very close to the train station, tram stop, main shopping street and within easy walk of many attractions and the beach (approx 20 min walk). Quiet and peaceful with very helpful and friendly staff. The bed was comfy and we had everything we needed. The decor is a little tired but we weren't bothered by this.

I loved how there was a 24hr reception, as it made us feel super safe, and was really convenient for checking in.
We got there earlier than check-in and they managed to give us our room straight away! Definitely not guaranteed, but was lovely that we had it straight after we landed.

The staff were all really nice, and made us feel welcome.
Overall, we loved our stay here, and would recommend it for a few nights in Nice, near the station, and only a short walk from local restaurants and shopping!

The walls are very thin in the rooms and you can hear everything in the hallways. I didn’t get much sleep because the cleaning staff primarily congregated outside my door for hours talking very loudly/yelling back and forth. I complained once to front desk but it didn’t stop. The bags of linens always in the hallways isn’t very attractive either.

Thin walls, could hear our neighbors talking in the next room. They left before 6am the next morning which I know because the sound of them shutting their room door woke us up. Conveniently located.

Avoid the rooms in the ground floor

We got a room in the ground floor, which was dark and poorly ventilated. In fact, we had to rely on the air conditioning for ventilation, since there was no window or extraction. There were cleanliness details that can be improved in the bathroom. Th furniture feels old and weary, except for the bathroom fixtures which are all new. It feels like the hotel is a converted hospital. The reception staff were nice and friendly. My advice would be to avoid the ground floor rooms.

I had an amazing stay at hotel du midi. Although it was not overly close to the beach, it had lovely facilities at a good price. There was a tram stop less than five minutes away which you could hop on to get to the beach within minutes and plenty of shopping options around.

Although the room was not quite up to the decorative standard of that in the website photograph, it was still good and clean. The bed was a bit softer than we prefer but was acceptable. The location is great if travelling by rail, as were we, and within walking distance of the Promenade des Anglais, the Old Town and the Port. For the price, great value for money and we would happily book again.

The hotel is clean and I like that there is a mini fridge in the room but some of the staff act like they own the hotel. Nosey, nosey, nosey! Also, I have never been to a hotel that has breakfast where you have to literally make your own hard boiled eggs. Luckily I make them at home so I knew what I was doing. But the staff not preparing them beforehand is a hazard and doesn’t make any sense. Also, the entire breakfast is mediocre, not a huge selection. Over priced for what you’re actually getting. I think the pastries are not fresh. I’ve stayed in wayyyyyy better hotels where the staff is not NOSEY and where the breakfast is FREE with a HUGE variety or if it does cost, then it’s worth it. The breakfast at this hotel is not worth it. And for the NOSEY staff members, you don’t own the hotel. Mind your business and get a life. Cheers!

Friendly and welcoming reception staff. Clean, warm and welcoming reception area with lots of information on hand. Room was clean warm and comfortable on 3rd floor accessed by lift and or stairs. Economically lit by movement. Small but adequate bathroom which was well lit with good shower. Good location near to train and trams, shops and restaurants. Pin noise in rooms. Would absolutely recommend to singles and couples looking for a base in Nice. Excellent value for money.

We stayed for a night on the way to Italy. I booked on the basis of the pictures and price. Unfortunately we got the ground floor accessible room, no window assuming as we were late. The other rooms may be nicer, ours was a bit basic, with marks on the door. And need of refurbishment. Clean and comfortable and the staff were GREAT. bang in the middle of Chinatown, a
Iittle rough but easy to get to train. A bit disappointing, but ok.

The staff were wonderful and welcoming. Our room was small, the AC was very loud, and there were some big paint chips out of the closet door, but it wasnt too bad. The soap shower gel dispenser didnt work but they provided small packs for use. Overall a fine stay with cafes, shops, and things we wanted to see nearby. We appreciated that staff let us keep our suitcase there for a few hours after check out until our flight :)

Stayed for two nights on our way to Italy. Good location for the main areas of Nice for eating out (maybe 15mm walk). Our main reason for picking this location was proximity to the train station which is fantastic (2 min walk).

Our room was small, but very comfortable, clean and air conditioning woken very well which was great as it was particularly warm outside!

Great Location for the Train Station

Overall a pretty satisfactory hotel. Location is great if you plan on using the trains to Monoco, Cannes etc as it's only a few minutes walk away.

Room was ok. Needs a bit of TLC. Main lights didn't work and there is general tiredness of the fixtures and fittings. View out our window was a large roof below and flats directly opposite.

Breakfast was quite expensive unless you really go for it. Obviously taking a few rolls and some fruit away for lunch helped justify the cost. :)

Staff friendly enough and let us check in an hour early.

Overall if your just looking for somewhere to sleep and shower and at the same time not spend too much; this is probably a good choice.
