The hotel was very noisy, with a lot of noise coming from the restaurant next door, the room above, and running water through the pipes. The rooms are very basic, and both the bedroom and bathroom are very small. The only positive aspect is the good location

The room is dark, small and unclean. This is not same as I order which showed on the website. They only said no room to changed and they totally breached the selling condition. Long time customer relationships with hotel.com. This is really disappointed me and hotel.com fraud selling. I am silver member. No breakfast and upgrade my room. And they gave me more worse than I booked.

I guess you get what you pay for. The location of this hotel was good. It was a 20 to 30 minute walk to old town niece. Unfortunately, when we got onto the elevator, we were overcome with a foul odor. I’m guessing it was sewage. I don’t wanna be too critical because I haven’t stayed at other hotels in the area and this might be a common problem. But I didn’t see any attempt to mask it with air freshener, etc. Our room was clean, but again the bathroom, stank of either mold, mildew or sewage. We kept the bathroom door closed at all times so that the smell would not get into the bedroom. Again, I would’ve fought that a can of air freshener would’ve been present in the bathroom under those circumstances. We also had an extremely noisy neighbor who stayed next to us. It seemed as if he was screaming on the phone or someone else to all hours of the night. I’m not sure if the walls were paper thin or he was just really loud, but he kept us awake as did a horrible grinding sound that went off about every hour. I’m not sure if it was from pipes rattling every time a toilet flushed or a sink was turned on, or was the sounds of Bathroom fans grinding. But it was enough to wake us up. So needless to say, our nights were not very restful. Other than that, the staff seemed nice and the beds were comfortable, and the location was good.

Very Disappointing Stay – Not as Advertised

Unfortunately, my stay at Hotel Saint Gothard was extremely disappointing. While the room was somewhat modern and generally clean, it looked nothing like the photos online. It was also extremely small — there was not even space to fit the two suitcases we had without blocking the walkway.

The room had a persistent musty odor that smelled of cigarettes. The hotel staff appeared inattentive and unprofessional, often sitting in the lobby vaping and chatting with friends. When I requested extra towels at 3pm (as my room had not yet been serviced), I was told there were none available and was advised to walk through the hotel floors myself to find a maid.

The facilities were also unacceptable. The television did not work, the Wi-Fi never connected despite being advertised, and the automatic lights in the hallways did not function half of the time, leaving the corridors in complete darkness. The bedding had stains, and even after a six-night stay, the stain was still there, indicating that the sheets were never changed throughout my whole stay.

Overall, this property fell far below expectations and did not meet the standards of comfort, cleanliness, or service that were promised. I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel was in a great location, which is why I would recommend it overall. However, it’s better not to walk around alone at night. The place was clean and decent for the price and the short stay, even if it didn’t quite match the pictures shown online.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The biggest downside was the internet – it was terrible and didn’t work at all during the first one and a half nights.

Pleasant stay in a great location

The beds were comfortable and the room was ok. There was no tea/coffee facilities which would have been nice. Our room had a corner bathroom which meant the toilet was squeezed between the sink and shower making using it comedic and uncomfortable.
We also weren’t able to get internet access in our room. Staff were friendly though and location was excellent.

Overall, this hotel is just average. The best thing it has going for it is the location; everything else is fairly forgettable.
During my first two-days, there was no hot water, which made for a poor first impression. The bathroom design is also quite awkward. If you're taller than 5'6\" (1.6m), you might struggle with the toilet layout—depending on the room, you may have to sit at an angle because the sink partially blocks the space where your legs would go.

Opening the balcony door was unpleasant due to a strong, rancid smell, so even having balcony access wasn’t a bonus. The Wi-Fi was another letdown—extremely spotty or completely nonfunctional.

In short, if all you need is a place to sleep and you're not expecting comfort or amenities, this hotel might work for you. But beyond the location, don't expect much.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location is central to major public transportation lines and attractions. The restaurant options are vast and affordable. Lastly,the bed was soft despite being a short twin bed. Now the bad, the hotel has an odor in the halls and corridors and the water has a smell to it. My room had a smell too and I have to use products to mask it. I complained about the accommodations shortly after check in and no help was offered because there was no manager on duty. The rooms are very small and remind me of dorm rooms and for the cost of $540 for 3 nights is a rip off. The walls are so thin and I could have the people next door sneezing and making adult. noises every night. No real amenities and the bath products did not smell good. The towels were so worn and only one of the dual shower heads worked. Also the WiFi would not stay connected. Upon, check out I don’t to put the key on the front desk since the staff was asleep on the lobby couch. I don’t recommended staying here you will not be comfortable.

The overall stay was good but if you need wifi while you are on vacation do not stay here. My sister and I stayed here for 5 nights and the wifi connection was non existent. We needed to use our esims the entirety of our stay and the service inside the hotel was not good either.

Not safe for solo female travelers, bad wifi

Not safe for a woman alone.
My room shared a balcony with a door that could be pushed in very easily, the lock prevented nothing. I had to barricade the balcony door any time I left.
Additionally, the side door to the lobby is open at night, so anyone could easily get in.
There was a knife mark on my bed, WiFi was very dodgy, only one device at a time could be connected and it often dropped. Toilet took several tries to flush. Staff wouldn’t give me more towels. Hair dryer didn’t work and there’s little insulation, so you can hear everything going on in the hotel.

Staff was very rude and often missing at night.

Wouldn’t recommend.

The main selling point of this hotel is the location, close to the Nice train station. The room was small and simple, but sufficient for 2 nights. I might stay here again but only for 1-2 nights. While I realize this room size is normal for Europe, the room was too small to be comfortable on a longer stay.

We arrived very late, almost midnight, and I was surprised that we could check in without even giving them notice of our late arrival. Services was very good, they were super friendly. That same night the lights were turned off so it was hard to walk through the hallways all dark. Room was comfortable but I would've appreciated having an extra quilt or blanket for the night.

The location is near nice ville station. Thanks to housekeeping staff, the room is very clean. The staff are friendly. I am also happy that microwave is available that I can reheat the food bought from market even in a hotel. However, my experience was average only. The room is very small, especially the shower room. It was very diffcult for me (a small Asian girl) to take a shower. I felt upset everytime when I took the shower in such a small shower room.

This hotel is good for single occupancy. Rooms are very small. Inadequate space to keep clothes and other items. The WC flush takes a long time to refill and the flow of hot water is very slow.
The location of the property is very good. 5 mins walk from the station and has a very comfortable bed and very clean room.

This was a nice hotel for the price. The bathroom and shower were very tiny but did the job. We had a small problem of ants in the bathroom and mentioned it to the door staff. They said they would send up someone to check but no one ever did. They did compensate us for the inconvenience with a free breakfast which was very tasty and much appreciated

My special request for a room away from a lift was totally ignored and I was given a room right beside it. The lift was dreadfully noisy and being in the centre of the building it probably managed to disturb guests in several rooms. I was unlucky enough to have a screaming child one side of me and a couple who chatted loudly and slammed cupboards at 2am on the other! , this I could hear clearly through earplugs- the walls are like tissue paper! The wifi was very slow and unreliable due to frequent disconnections and took a long time to restore. The bathroom had an adequate shower cubicle but a ridiculously small wash basin that was hard to access as a bulky cabinet hung low over it. Being 6ft I found it easier to kneel on the floor when using it. The fixed plug was hard to fathom when trying to fill the bowl as it wouldn't create a seal. Toiletries were not replaced every day. As for the plus points, a comfortable bed, easy to use safe and fridge available. The multi channel TV had one channel in English. Reception staff were unwelcoming and unaccommodating, this has much changed since my first stay here around fifteen years ago.

It’s an ok hotel, Perfect location if you just need somewhere to base, while you spend your trip around Nice/The French riviera. It’s right by the train station, round the corner from the bus stops, tram stops and a 10 minute walk to the tram station ( that goes to the airport).

The room itself a is not the greatest..The bathroom had a bit of a smell ( I feel this was because it was linked to other rooms bathroom because you can hear you neighbour flush) the WiFi didn’t work which was very annoying when leaving, looking under my bed to make sure k didn’t leave anything I found rubbish under the bed. ( definitely not mine)

We spent 4 nights at this nice hotel (September 11 - September 15) and had a very pleasant stay. The room / bathroom was clean and tidy; housekeeping was good and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. They all speak English. The area was very convenient- just a brisk 1 minute walk from the Avenue Massena, and a 10 minute walk from Place Massena. The neighborhood seemed quite safe and very peaceful and quiet at night. We're happy to recommend this property.

The room had a safe and staff also allowed us to store luggage in a locked room after we checked out before our late flight home which was a god send. The hotel is really central location. Location of this hotel was perfect if you want to explore Nice. Right next to the tram station which can take you to the main attractions. Room is tidy although tight but we didn't stay in our rooms that much anyways. Only downside are the breakfast options, not included with 10 euros per person per day and offers very limited options.

I booked a normal room but they gave me a loft room which is low ceiling and has a 1.6m high beam in the middle of the room - my head accidentally bumped onto the beam for several times during my two nights of stay. In addition, the WiFi was extremely poor - I couldn’t normally use WiFi at all.

The room size was fine, there was no tissue box in the room or washroom. No hair conditioner or lotion in the bath. The elevator was very slow. We ask the front desk to book a private tour for us since people didn’t speak English mostly and difficult to communicate over the phone; we we’re advised that our driver was a tour guide too but he was not also he could communicate in English!😡that caused a lot of confusion! overall not very memorable experience .

This hotel is in a good location - walking distance to the beach and old town. Also very close to Nice Ville station, meaning you can easily get to other towns.
The hotel itself is fine. Pretty basic but we personally were not spending much time in the room itself. The walls are very thin and all through the night we could hear the people next door chatting. We also were told there was nowhere for us to store our luggage when we arrived earlier than check in time as the luggage area was full. The cleaners also walked into our room without knocking at 9am. The facilities are basic but if you want a good location hotel, then I would recommend. Staff at reception were nice.

Good value for money, location is perfect if you need to use the train to go to nearby towns but Rue de Paganini’s can be a bit dodgy at night. Very good coffee shops nearby and just two min walk away from the main shopping road. Room is clean and well equipped with hair dryer and air conditioning but bathroom could do with an update. My family and I had a lovely four night stay at Saint Gothard Nice. It was situated well for the shops and the public transport. Excellent value for money and would definitely stay again.
