Actually due to health problem i was not able to travel and ask the hotel if they can change my dates or give me a refund which they refuse. Also asked to get a receipt that i did not stay at the hotel and they refused to give me and told me to see with expedia. Thats very unfortunate. Expedia told me to contact hotel directly. And i also have proof about my admission at the hospital which they did not even consider.

What a special place! I had an incredible stay. The staff (especially Mohammad in the reception) was SO helpful. There are beautiful trails, scenery, and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend staying here.

Luxurious with minor negatives

This hotel is luxurious, with heavenly beds and spacious rooms (I booked double room). Service is great. The only negative was that when there was a big group at hotel, full breakfast buffet was served, whereas on quiet days, a smaller version of buffet was served. There were no vegetarian options either. Also, the swimming pool was shut (for maintenance, I believe). There is a gym and hot tub which I hope to use next time. I would revisit when I may dare to ask staff about vegetarian options.

Location is beautiful and lobby area looks nice.

However rooms are rather old and not really maintained. Covers on the bed are dirty.

Service was disappointing given the fact that the hotel was almost empty.

Swimming pool - they claim that the water is 28 degrees. Hard for me to judge it but the water were freezing ( I doubt if it was actually 28).

Playroom- really messy and full of old and broken toys.

To summarize - this place has huge potential but very little soul. I doubt if we will visit this hotel again as a family.

P.S if you cares about your coffee, do not touch their coffee machines. It is really bad coffee.

Always nice to stay up on Holmenkollen. Hotel as nice as ever. Good for those with their own transport. Strangely, one of my favourite things is the small tree with lichen all over it; in the courtyard.

The false alarm for the fire alarm was confusing and extremely obtrusive. There was no instructions on how to contact the reception anywhere in the room. Overall a very unpleasant stay.

Great hotel away from the city centre

This is a wonderful hotel that is situated away from the city centre. It's about 30 mins on the metro but the views are absolutely worth it! The room was much larger than we expected and the bed was extremely comfortable. The receptionist who booked us in was really polite, friendly and helpful so couldn't ask for much more. The breakfast that was included also hit the spot with a good mix of cold and warm choices. Highly recommend and would not hesitate to book again.

Lovely location up a mountain, easily accessed via the local train, which gets you into Oslo in around 20 minutes. Very peaceful location & nice hotel with fantastic breakfast & good facilities, I used the pool & sauna daily they were very quite which made it all the better! Nice comfortable room with good toiletries.

With numerous empty rooms with a great view, we were first given a room with no view at all and, after complaining, a handicapped room with a partial view. The standard of the rooms is closer to that of student accommodation than a luxury hotel. Having said that, we found the cuisine to be excellent and the location stunning.

Amazing Stay

First, the location of the hotel was pretty amazing, high above Oslo with magnificent views. Nearby is the Oslo Winter Olympics Ski Jump. Second, the hotel has a very interesting design,and lay-out, with gardens, terraces and plenty of greenery. Our room was very comfortable with good beds/mattresses and a large bath tub. Breakfast was excellent with tasty offerings and also healthy foods. As sonn as I had to leave, I missed it already, that is a rare feeling for a frequent traveller like me.

YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR EVERYTHING

The room was clean and pleasant, but way too hot, even with the thermostat down to zero and both windows open. Also, the staff would not bring us more pillows, they told us to come down and get them if we wanted - bad customer service in my opinion. But by all means, a beautiful place, a beautiful location, a beautiful view. And really comfortable been - even better if we got some more pillows. They didn’t even have toletries in the room, if we needed soap, shampoo and a tooth brush, they charged your credit card for it. Who the hell does that? It might be a superb hotel with decent price, but YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR EVERYTHING. Which means you could stay at Oslo Plaza in the city center for the same price — and a much better hotel, better customer service, and you’re in the city center. You’ll have to take a cab to get here, as there is no alternative transport / and taxis In Norway are crazy expensive.

This hotel sells because of the view. I stayed two nights. The first night the hotel was pretty full, so I was assigned a room with a view of the next building which looked like the back of a tenement. The next day I requested a different room and was rewarded with a lovely view overlooking the city. Thanks staff!! The rooms were clean and well maintained.
The hotel is located on a hilltop. A car or taxi would be helpful. There is a metro station about a 15 minute walk away. Seniors and those with disabilities might consider the walk harsh as it is uphill to the hotel at a pretty steep grade. There were people street skiing in the summer and I would imagine it to be good sledding in the wintertime.
The view from the hotel is spectacular. Good luck getting a room that reflects that.

The hotel's location is perfect. However, it is far from the metro station. You need about 15 minutes to walk from the metro station to the hotel. Breakfast is good, however, rooms are not large.

Haven away from the city

Breakfast was excellent every day, good buffet dinner on Sunday evenings and beautiful views. Worth the short metro trip and walk from the station for the views alone. Pool was good and the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. A great hotel for some peace and countryside walks but still close enough to use for an Oslo city break. Definitely glad we booked this vs something in the city centre.

we stayed for 2 nights and I highly recommend this 4 Star Hotel! The Breakfast is outstanding! Never saw anything like this in North America. Parking spaces is one thing that wasn't up to par. Not wide enough, always have to worry about hitting another door. But that is the only thing you could complain about! Rooms are great and a huge pool and sauna! Recommended to all.

Although the hotel is quite a long way from the city, the overall experience is definitely worth the trip! Take the Metro to Vokenskollen & then a steep 15 minute stroll & you'll find it. It doesn't look much from the outside but it's beautiful inside. The staff speak great English, they are friendly & knowledgeable & helpful. The rooms are spacious , modern and clean, the bed & pillows were so comfortable I didn't want to get up! Breakfast was a huge choice & the restaurant was Al a cartè, expensive but very nice. The hotel is 1,000 ft high so the weather is not always the best but when it is you get the most amazing views, there's lots of walking opportunities in the woodlands where you can see Fallow deer & wildflowers, there's a small lake & a small waterfall in the area. The hotel swimming pool and sauna were excellent. There's also a children's playroom if you need it. A nice bar & lounge area. The hotel is excellent value for money, the bar is a bit more expensive then London but it is Oslo so come to accept that before you go! We stayed 3 nights but could have happily stayed for 10, is a great place to use as a base to explore Oslo if you don't mind the 15 minute climb from the station or you can afford to rent a car, don't book a take unless you're a millionaire or you've won the lottery! The Metro is £6.30 for two to the city, a taxi will cost about £80!

Amazing hotel

This hotel has amazing scenery, a delicious dinner menu, and the most comfortable bed ever. It's a ten minute walk from the T train stop but it's a beautiful walk and there's signs to point you in the right direction. There are lots of different sitting areas inside and outside, walking trails around the area, and a great view of Oslo and the surrounding areas. The wifi is easy to connect to, wasn't alway the strongest in my room but definitely strong in the lobby area. The bathroom floor was heated so no freezing tiles when you step out of the shower. Again, super comfortable bed. Tv in room, found movies and shows in English. Nice staff

Check in was so long because they could not find my booking and it leads to the room that are not ready yet for me, because I booked for 3 people so they still need to bring an extra bed to the room after I check in into my room. Although the hotel has a very good view the receptionist gave me a room that overlooking other room and pathetic backyard

Functional, unwelcoming place in a beautiful spot

It seems to be a conference centre rather than a hotel. We arrived late in the evening, the hotel was almost empty and we seemed not to be a high priority for reception: the reception desk was empty and we had to wander and call around to find staff. Although the hotel was surrounded by forest and seemed almost empty we were put in a room with a view of just a roof. When we asked for a room with a view, we had to walk along many corridors and take two lifts to go back to reception and pick up a different key. No offer of help with luggage. The facilities are functional, the location is beautiful and the staff are adequate, but I wouldn't particularly want to stay there again.

Loved our stay!!

Last year my family and I rated this hotel a 1 out of 5 because of the non friendly staff. I'm not sure if they removed this specific staff member or not but this time it was completely different. Mr.Mohamed checked us in and made our lives super easy by going above and beyond! From helping us change our € to the local currency to helping us find a babysitter! The room was perfect, breakfast was also lovely. The restaurant food also tasted a lot better this time than it did last year. We will definitely be staying there again! Thanks again Mr.Mohamed!

The hotel is nice but it was very quiet as i'm told its just been changed from a conference only hotel to a general \"open to the public\".

Perfect location for the Holmenkellen (ski museum and ski jump). As well as Oslo sledding which is a 2km sled route and also Oslo Vinterpark ski centre. Word of advice though take your own ski goggles and gloves everything else can be rented but they sell the gloves and goggles which are expensive. Cheapest of each in the ski centre is about £50 each

Like a mountain resort within minutes of the city

An extremely well run property with great Nordic feel and design, with a mix of humble understatement and grandour. Situated 20 minutes from the city center, yet in the midst of the forest, with stunning views over the Oslo city and out to the Oslo Fjord.

The reception staff members were very helpful and accommodating, and contributedto give the hotel a strong at-home feeling.

Will absolutely stay again.

Great place to say in Oslo!

It's closer to everything than you'd expect. You're in the heart of the city in no time. You drive up to the mountain top through a neighborhood of hillside homes. Very spacious, comfortable and clean rooms with incredible mountain and city views on one side and pleasant interior views on the other. We had two rooms with one of each view. Very nice seating areas both indoors and out, excellent breakfast buffet included in the room rate and a very pleasant and helpful staff. We also had a great dinner here with excellent food and service. There is free WiFi and free convenient parking. It's a large facility so you walk a bit more to your room and around but no more than with any large hotel. We'll stay here again when back in Oslo!

Amazing!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while visiting Islo. Hotel was simply amazing. The professionalism of the staff was remarquae, the comfort of the room (bed) was great and the view....well you have to see it to understand. The hotel is located on top of the mountain with an incredible view on Oslo. Buffet breakfast was great and free parking! The connection to he city was very easy but you have to walk about 15 minutes to take the train that brings you directly downtown. From there you can connect to where ever you want. We would definitely go back if I return to Oslo.

Na jedem wir drei Mal nach Check in das Zimmer gewechselt haben, hatten wir dann endlich eins gefunden. Beim ersten gab es kein warmes Wasser. Beim zweiten war das Wasser wärmer, aber nicht zum duschen geeignet und die Klimaanlage über dem Bett rauschte so laut, dass man nicht schlafen hätte können. Im dritten Zimmer war dann soweit alles in Ordnung. Alle Zimmer waren jedoch nicht so sauber und in die Jahre gekommen. Überall lagen Haare auf dem Teppich. Und dann hatten wir auch noch in der zweiten Nacht einen Feueralarm und mussten um 0:45 Uhr aus dem Hotel raus. Kurze Zeit später durften wir wieder rein. Hier hätten wir uns irgendeine Information gewünscht. Es gab nichts, nicht mal ein Mitarbeiter war zu sehen. Die Lage im Wald ist sehr schön und ruhig.

Mooie locatie in de bergen op korte afstand van centrum Oslo. Olympische skischans dichtbij. Jammer dat 3e slaapplaats niet al in de kamer was en later alsnog werd gebracht. Ook niet uitgestald en opgemaakt. Past niet bij de rest van de beleving van hotel. Personeel erg vriendelijk. In restaurant daarnaast kundig en met de juiste snelheid. Parkeren relatief duur.

En relativt fint hotell. Var dog mye hår i badekar/dusj, og generelt dårlig funksjon på dusj og kran på badet. Gode senger. Fin frokost, men noe begrenset tilbud/utvalg.
