I was disappointed with the room service during my stay. Upon arrival, the toilet had not been properly cleaned. Furthermore, basic amenities like coffee capsules and paper cups were not refilled daily. I had to repeatedly request these from reception; even then, they only arrived occasionally. For the price paid, I expected much more consistent housekeeping.

Internet was not working most of stay. There was only one working elevator and the hotel was packed. Our bathroom sink was not draining and our Safe was not working, so we had to carry our valuables as there was No maintenance on weekends. We didn’t have towels, and asked every evening for them and were told we had to wait till next day. The Staff and Manager were extremely nice and were actually the best part of the stay. Some of them Didn’t speak English as one guest didn’t have toilet paper and so he had to bring the empty roll to show them.

Horrible EXPERIENCE - AVOID

Since our check-in, we discovered that the air conditioning in our room was not functioning. We specifically chose your hotel because air conditioning was listed as a basic amenity, and we expected a comfortable environment for our family after driving for 4 hours. Unfortunately, the room was extremely hot and stuffy, with outside temperatures at 29°C, making it impossible to rest properly.

We tried to call reception to report the issue, but no one answered the phone. As a result, we had to personally go down six floors several times to speak with staff. Only then were we told that the air conditioning system had not been working since 5:00 pm on 4th July. We checked in at 9:30 pm and were not informed about this issue upon arrival, which is unacceptable and shows a clear failure of communication and customer care. Infact when first reported we were asked to wait for sometime for the room to get cooler. This is really shocking despite the fact that the hotel management staff at reception knew that it’s a failure of the aircon system in the entire hotel and it has been reported to the directors much before our arrival.

This experience has completely disrupted our holiday and caused significant discomfort and distress for our family. We feel that the services promised to us were not provided, and we have been seriously inconvenienced.

Pros: The Staff make this a 7 Star Hotel! Mariam was amazing and went above and beyond to ensure everything on our stay was perfect! Farouk, Manel and Mariam were all so sweet, helpful and kind. The rooms were very nice and the Nespresso machine was greatly appreciated.

Cons: Heater did not work very well and some amenities like lotion and shower caps were not available.

This property does not have two double beds in the family rooms as falsely advertised by Expedia. The hotel say they have told them to change it many times and had many complaints, mine being one of them when we found a very small folding camp bed instead of the double bed we booked the room because of. Expedia are not responding my to my complaints. (Three made now with photos)

The room was great very spacious and just what a family needs. The down side was depending what cleaner was on, on the day it was noticeably different. Also the breakfast service was not great. States 7-11 but even if you go down at 9.50am they are clearing it away, no cooked breakfast only if you make your eggs yourself. And the variety was not great. Nothing was kept topped up. I would definitely not rate it at a 4 star.

The staff were helpful. We had not appreciated how far the hotel was from the city centre. The room was a tad basic with the tiniest toilet but nonetheless was a okay place for us to crash after a long day of sightseeing in the Paris heatwave. The showers are great.

It was all good, helpful staff, great location, 5 minutes from train station. It had secure underground parking which was a big reason to book this hotel. Although the checkin was a bit of pain and the room wasn't ready even when we checked in at 6pm. Other than that, everything else was comfortable and as expected.

The breakfast at this Novotel is really poor. It claims to serve a buffet breakfast, but all you get is a selection of cold slices of ham, chicken and cheese, yogurt, two selection of cereal, pastries and boiled eggs. There are NO scrambled or fried eggs, sausages, baked beans, tomatoes, fried eggs, No toaster and so on. There is no view from the hotel, very basic gym and so on

The staff was very helpful right from check in. They helped us plan our days in Paris. The breakfast was more than we expected. There were a lot of options to select from. The room was a little tight for 4 people, but if we're there only to sleep, so it served its purpose. The train was walking distance and easily accessible to get to downtown Paris. We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel, and will definitely go back if we make a trip to Paris again.

Great modern hotel. Nice size rooms, modern and clean. A bit far out from Paris so using Uber or train is necessary. Train about 10 min walk away. No real close restaurants however I did see many hotel guest order food for delivery. Staff is very nice and knowledgeable and speaks good English.

they did charge me for three nights even though we stay for two, so I'm still waiting to get that refund.

But overall great place I will not hesitate to stay again

Hotel is nice. It is little far from all the attractions, but metro is 5 min walk and it takes you about 30-45 min to see major attractions. Kids eat for free and there is a grocery store around the corner. Breakfast is good. 15 Euros seem high until you see prices in Paris. What I liked the most is how quiet this place is! All in all this place is excellent for families.

Novotel good bargain

This hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the metro station. We purchased unlimted metro passes for 7 days and so the location was great, especially for the low cost of the hotel. The neighborhood was quiet and safe but not too many restaurant options within waking distance. This wasnt really a negative due to the ease of accessing the metro. Hotel staff was extremely helpful with any request and all front desk staff spoke English. When we arrived it was Christmas day and most restaurants were closed. They actually called for us to order our pizza and stood right there while the delivery driver handled our transaction to be sure we had no problems. This is a great hotel if you need a hotel room and a place to sleep. TV was good but we only watched CNN in English. Didn't channell surf at all. Hotel doesn't have too many amenities but it has basic snacks and beverages for sale. We arrived an hour or so before our room was ready for check in. Front desk gave us free beers and snacks while we waited. Staff expedited getting our room ready. I would stay there again although I might look for a room more central to the center of Paris on next trip. For the money it is a great deal.

Stayed here with my family when visiting west of Paris. The rooms are large and include a small kitchenette (sink, kettle, coffee maker, microwave, fridge).

Bar downstairs very convivial with free snacks one night per week (Tuesday ?), plus I think some other events planned for the guests. A nice change when away on business for. A length of time.

Be aware though the only practical option for food in the room is either microwave meals from downstairs, takeaways, or cold snacks... don't expect to cook and don't expect plates and cutlery in the room

Great stop over hotel

We stayed here as a family of 4 as a stopover on the way back to Calais.
The hotel was extremely pleasant and looked after. The family room we had was perfect. With separate bathroom and wc. Plus a kitchenette area with running water and microwave. Only downside is that even though you have a microwave there are no plates or cutlery provided.
We didn't venture out much in the surrounding area but there were a few shops and restaurants.
The breakfast is continental. You make your own eggs as you like plus there are hams and pastries. It was busy though so you may need to wait for seats.
Highly recommend this hotel if you don't want the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Saying that you are only 20mins drive away so still easily accessible.

The hotel was clean and tidy. The staff were excellent. The small gym useful.
However the air-conditioning only blew hot irrespective of setting and the separate WC in my room always smelt of stale urine. I believe some maintenance issues need resolving. Once fixed this would have a better rating from me.

A short week in Paris

Comfortable room and bed, office desk and chair not so comfortable if you want to do some work in your room. The gym is barely functional - about 4 machines, no weights or Dumbbells. Free massage offered on Thursday evenings. No room service , breakfast is basic French style, same everyday so you could get tired of it if you stay for many nights. Internet service is very good, very convenient to Reuil Malnaison RER station and short ride to central Paris. Front desk staff is somewhat friendly but don't expect them to go overboard trying to please their guests. Several restaurants nearby within a 5-10 minute walking distance but quiet location away from the activity of downtown.

Pleasant family stay in Paris

The hotel is a 5 minutes walk to the metro, and it takes 15 minutes by metro to Paris center.
Rueil Malmaison is a nice quiet small town outside of Paris. If you have time, go check out the town center of Rueil Malmaison, which is the other side of the metro - very nice.
The room is clean, big enough for a family of 4 with 2 teenagers.

Nice-ish hotel in the middle of nowhere

I'm not sure how I selected this hotel as I was looking at hotels in the very centre of Paris. I booked it but it was far out, not even covered by the Metro. Having said that it was only 5 stops on the RER train in to the centre. The hotel and room were nice with the breakfast being the usual French disaster.
The only complaint was the bathroom which appeared to be a moulded plastic room module which was more akin to something from the budget F1 chain. Having a shower resulted in water pooling in the middle of the room and not going down the drain and it was clear from the door frame that water had been running into the bedroom.
Whether I'd recomnmend this hotel or not would come down to what your intention was for the stay. It's comfortable if you're doing business nearby but is limiting if you are doing an intense weekend.

Room was very big and comfortable and the Nespresso machine is a big plus.
One con of the room- the water from the shower get all over the bathroom since there's no angle to the shower. I had to dry it with towels every day...

Great Hotel with Easy Access to the City

I booked this hotel and was nervous about the location. I should not have worried. 15minutes on the train which was a 4 minute walk from the hotel brought you into central Paris. It was certainly worth the saving and travelling a little further each day! Highly recommend the hotel!

So spent ages researching for hotels and this suite plus the prive looked amaizng and well could not have got better! 4 minute walk from metro then 4 stops to the arc de triomphe. If you dont mind public transport for 10 mins there and back then get this hotel.

Really great hotel !!

Very clean and noiseless. Don't be afraid od distance, it is easy to travel from Malmaison to Paris in regional trains that stops at La Defense, Chatelet or Charles de Gaulle and takes just 25 minutes. Close to Malmaisson is located Nanterre that is also a town where you can save money eating out and buying at supermarkets instead expending at \"tourist prices\" in Paris. I would be there again.

Lovely modern hotel. Big spacious room and clean.There is a nice reception/bar area downstairs that serves breakfast (although seemed quite expensive) and has vending machines with lunch and microwave dinners if you are desperate. There is a bar down the road but not much in the way of nice restaurants.
It is a little way out of the city centre and you need to get the RER in but easy and quick to do this its a few minutes walk to the station. Location was defiantly good.
Just by the station there is a supermarket and café and lovely patisserie with a cluster of other shops.

wanted a hotel close to La Defense so booked this as recommended by Hotels.com. wrong choice. No where close!! to make things worse there are no restaurants nearby. Hotel itself has no restaurant. So had microwave dinner. Gym had only one threadmill so had to wait and the internet was broken all through my stay so couldn't do any work on the night. Not apology from staff. The guy at the reception just muttered..sorry internet down with no expression on face. bad choice!!

We had a very good experience with the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. The complimentary breakfast was good, but it could have been made better. The hotel was close to a metro station. The hotel is way outside of Paris and there is not a good selection of restaurants close by and the hotel does not have a restaurant on the premises. Overall, you do get your money's worth with this hotel.

Business hotel close to the RER station

Great hotel in a business area, which was modern,clean and felt very safe. Lovely shops and restaurants within minutes, and also within very close access to the RER station. Frequent trains which took you to the centre of Paris in no time at all. We were sharing a room with our two teenage children, so being able to close the sleeping area from the rest of the room at night, was great. The bathroom had a shower and a bath, and the toilet was separate, which again was great. You also have a mini kitchen area, with a microwave, a kettle and a small sink. We were a bit worried about the noise of the main road the rooms look onto, but the sound proofing is outstanding, and you could not hear a thing. We will definitely be using the Suites Novotel again.

great hotel very clean

Hotel itself was fantastic probably a little too far out from our destinations however we worked around it. Once again, it says a family room but it's a pull out and another fold up - not real proper beds. I wish hotels would have the proper furniture for a family of four. A bit squashed for room space, the hotel was in a very quiet area with not much around, that's fine as we don't like noise during the night. Definitely a good 20 mins by train to the main attractions.

Facilities in room were great for kids.. Spacious and comfortable . movies for kids were a real positive and kept the kids entertained.... Hotel itself is in good condition and is worthy of the great reviews it has received. Staff friendly.. Breakfast ok and train station 5 minute walk in what is a nice quiet area... Would stay here again...

A good hotel for people travelling for business

I stayed at the Suites Novotel for one night whilst travelling on business. The hotel was fine, rooms are large (superior suite) and hve everything you need. The breakfast also was good albeit minimal on selection but comes as an added cost. The hotel is also is the middle of nowhere so not much around.

I would recommend staying if travelling on business or in the La Defense area.

Convenient Location & Quality Hotel

The location was great, just a 5 minute walk from the RER station which takes you directly into Paris. Neighbourhood was safe. Hotel was clean and modern. Only quibble is with the bed as it was quite hard and the pillows were not comfortable at all. We went to Paris for our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make our stay perfect by putting flowers and champagne in our room before we arrived. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice family friendly hotel, staff very kind , room perfect for a family with kettle, microwave and fridge . Close to the RER which in 10 minutes you arrive to the centre . If we come back to Paris definitely we'll choose this hotel!

great place to stay. courteous staff

a great place to stay with comfortable rooms. comfortable double beds for us and separate beds for the kids. microwave was a big help. a supermarket close by was very convenient. the staff was very helpful and courteous. though at a distance from the city center (12-15 minutes by tube), it is very conveniently located, close to the public transport system, so reaching the city center was easy. internet was satisfactory. the breakfast could be better. the staff went an extra mile by providing us whatever was feasible due to our early morning departure. Overall a good place to stay.
