Generally good value and I would stay again. Perfect location for Paris sight seeing as RER next door and La Defense within walking distance.
Only gripe was I picked the hotel as it says it has a restaurant and thought we’d prefer that after a day site-seeing. We went for the weekend and not only was it closed but on the Sunday all the restaurants surrounding the hotel are closed. It was crisps and biscuits for dinner, not what we expected for a night in Paris!
Breakfast was lovely though.

The only good thing about the hotel was only one minute from the metro. Staff were not friendly at all , specially the tall African girl at the reception, house keeping were very nice. Breakfast was ok and during the weekend not much to offer .

Fine for a cheap functional stay in Paris.

The stay here was fine. The staff were great and the room was functional. The lobby is also a nice area to chill. The room was also fine. However, I was on the 5th floor and could hear and feel the metro running underneath the hotel every couple of minutes making the room shake. Also the room layout is slightly weird and the deck needs a bit of an update. The room was definitely well used.

Terrible bed with thick Velcro

This hotel is about a block away from La Defense area which is amazing after a show. The room was nice and clean. My biggest issue is the bed was 2 twins put together and there was very thick Velcro running against the bed. There was no way to sleep comfortably. That bed is terrible and should be thrown away. Otherwise staff and room was great for after a show stay.

Reception staff not very helpful except Jessy. Would not give us any milk for tea and rather patronising attitude of the young lady.
The rooms are small and tiny toilet.
Loud sound of underground trains all day and night. Beds of poor quality. Miles away from the city centre and Main railway station.

Despite this being out of the city center and there is nothing near the hotel. There were great transport links to the city center with the train station being a 30-second walk from the hotel. The staff was friendly and there were no complaints about the cleanliness. My only suggestion would be more variety for the hot food during breakfast as there was only bacon, sausages and scrambled egg.
I would definitely stay again!

I stay here every week and always have to ask for my club membership privileges, not to mention the request on my booking for certain rooms which are never met automaticaly but always get the room on the check-in desk but have ask if they forgot to read?! clearly dont read bookings nor look at the profile of the customer and just see \"numbers\" rolling in. Apart from checkin process and check in at the desk when i arrive, the staff are brilliant especially the restaurant and breakfast staff, rooms are great, and location perfect for office

The perfect hotel, but with one fatal flaw

The hotel is amazing in every aspect.

Pros:
- Amazing service
- Good condition of the rooms (newly refurbished)
- Nespresso Coffee in the room - nice touch
- Good breakfast
- Good Wifi

Will I ever stay here again?
- Definitely not.

Why?
There is a Paris Metro train station underneath the hotel and the Paris Metro trains run from just after 04:00 to after midnight meaning that if you are susceptible to noise, that you will not sleep very well at all. The hotel offers earplugs as standard in the room, but sleeping with them is uncomfortable and may mean that you may not hear your alarm clock.

To me the issue with the train noise is a massive shame as the hotel is great in every other aspect.

Poor value, hopefully better once refurb is done

Not as expected. Staff were fine but facilities very poor for the money. Bathroom in particular was not clean with mould on the tiles and panel broken. Metro train noise was audible on 7th floor. Breakfast buffet was only adequate and bar and evening dinner facilities poor although the quickly prepared meal was acceptable. Facilities did not do justice to the staff who were very professional in clearly difficult circumstances with work in progress.

Close to the U Arena

Staff was nice and very attentive . My room had a few issues. Door lock was difficult to work a few times . It looked like it had been slammed and affected the door frame . It was patched but never painted. The safe did not work . The bathroom has the high tub with the curved bottom so when you shower it doesn’t feel safe. Difficult getting in and out as well. The thermostat was coming apart as wAs one light switch. No outlets near the bed . No USB ports at all. Had the desk person call taxi to leave, and 2 different ones showed up. Big argument inside and outside the hotel. The hotel manager should have stepped in and got me out of the middle. Reflected poorly on him

Tired is not enough, Exhaused more like!

We're a family of 2 adult and on teenage child.

We're seasoned travellers, and I've used the Accor brand many times in the past, but this is without doubt the worst Accor hotel I've ever stayed at.

It is rated as 4*, however it would struggle to get 2* rating.

I read the other reviews, and can only assume they did not stay in the annex where we did on the third floor.

Room is relatively large, but still crowded and unorganised.

Many signs of damage exist as the photos show. The bathroom is a horrible mess with broken tiles, huge dirty areas that simply could not be cleaned. It does not even have a thermostatically controlled shower which I would expect in any 4* hotel.

The toilet is separate, but is impossible to easily gain access as the electric box is sited so the door will not open fully! The engineer who designed that deserves to stay here for a while...

In addition the requirement to get fully dressed for outdoors when going to get breakfast is astonishing! The Annex has NO facilities of any description.

We're only here for 3 days, and do not wish to waste our limited time in Paris moving or arguing about the hotel, but will be taking this up with the management upon our return to the UK.

Nice hotel with separate room from the kids although by sliding doors.
Not far from Paris although keep in mind the metro tickets are a little more expensive from here than if you would be one station closer to downtown. Also, there is a market right downstairs and a few good restaurants so great stay overall.

Separate Part and not the Actual Hotel

Feeling of being very old. Paid way too much $198.00 for twin beds with one extra, plus a portable kitchenette, which we never used, because it looked up inviting !!!!! This \"Pavilion\" was separate from the hotel, very old, but quiet. Bathroom needed updating, but housekeeping was good. Would not stay there again !

The hotel is so conveniently located near the RER which was one reason fro choosing it. The mattress was very comfortable and allowed for an excellent sleep. The neighbourhood is very quiet and the staff very nice and helpful.

Went to Paris for a girls weekend first was taken to the wrong hotel the Mercure la defense 5 glad we didn't stay at that hotel, front office were very rude and helpful. Once we got to the right mercure hotel in nanterre the hotel staff were very friendly and efficient. The location is excellent as the metro station is right next door. Overall would stay again.

I thought that as the address of the hotel was Paris La Defense Grande Arche it would be in that area. Got off the metro at the right stop only to discover later that the hotel was actually in Nanterre on the RER train line not the metro-
upset at this as made life more expensive and complicated to travel into centre.
Hotel restuarant closed except for breakast over the Christmas period so unable to have evening meal at hotel - as a single female visitor found this unacceptable particularly as no notice on any information given.
Room not made up one day on return from day out - spoke to reception and asked that it be made up while I went out for a quick meal - not done when I returned an hour later. Receptionist said that they had had a bad day as one group had booked out late - pretty sure they would not have been booking out early evening. Thought that as this incident occured at 7.00 pm an hour would have been long enough to have cleaned a room.
Hotel itself as expected and ok other than misleading address - which should be as shown Nanterre - Hauts de Seine not Paris.

The hotel is located just off the motorway, which meant that it was straight forward to reach on journey from London.

The hotel car park was easily accessible and we paid upon checkout.

Customer service is brilliant and staff go out of their way to accommodate requests. Mr. Erasmo is a credit to the hotel.

The room was nice, spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable.

The Nanterre-prefecture RER A station is just outside the hotel and we were able to reach the Arc d'triomphe in 10 minutes (2 stops away). Great location.

Will definitely stay here again, when visiting Paris.

It is an OK hotel

The hotel is outside Paris city center, but conveniently there is a train station just outside the hotel (RER A), so going to the city is not a big problem. And that train is going straight to Disneyland Paris (RER A4). The room is smallish, but we are out of the room most of the time. Beds are quite comfortable.The hotel staffs are quite helpful, but they are definitely understaffed, especially in the evening.This hotel is poor in re-supplying the amenities, one night we are back in the room and found no soap/shampoo in the bathroom (the partially used ones were removed), we called the front office, they are gladly to give us what we are requesting but we have to pick them up ourselves as there are no one to deliver them to the room (around 11pm). We need to print some voucher for Disneyland, the business center has only one computer, and when we were ready to print, we found that the printer was out of toner, we ended up sending the vouchers to the front office (via email) for printing. Despite some inconveniences, overall this is an OK hotel.

My overall impression was of a hotel that did not deserve its fourth star. It was functional at best, with no atmosphere or buzz, a poor breakfast offering (including the most revolting cheap supermarket style baguette I have ever eaten in France) and the overwhelming feeling of catering to tired businessmen not paying their own bills. Poor.

I really liked the location of this hotel. It's about 30 minutes via metro from the center of the Paris. The metro station is right next to the hotel which was a huge plus. There are small shops, restaurants, and a grocery store next to the hotel. My husband and I would eat breakfast and pack up lunch from the grocery store before heading down into the city so if you need to travel to Paris and save a few dollars this might be a good hotel for you. The people in the area are very friendly. I would stay here again.

A Cheap Option for a Large Group

We were a group of 11 traveling to Paris. Even though I booked 6 months out from our trip, my options were still very limited for such a large group. I was able to book three apartments and one double room for our group at the Mercure La Defense for a very reasonable rate. The rooms were large, but they were a little dingy and cheap looking. They were clean, and comfortable, so there is not too much I can dock the hotel on. The hotel does sit right on top on an RER station, but keep in mind the station is in the 3rd travel region in Paris. Plan your metro tickets accordingly. If I were to again travel to Paris with a large, budget conscious group, I would consider this hotel again; but it's absolutely not a hotel for a romantic get-away with your husband or wife. Three-stars is about all I could give this hotel.

Very good location next to subway station, and by this subway Paris down town is just 6 min
breakfast is good and also you can get express Breakfast which is cheaper, includes coffee, orange juice, croissant, butter, jam and bread with 8 euros.
outside the hotel you find all many restaurant and cafes also supermarket.
room is small and it is not 4 stars room
I can not categorize it as 4 starts hotel, in my opinion the hotel is 3 stars.
No stuff to carry the luggage with you.
Internet service is poor, you can just serve internet and no skype or peer to peer download.

Nice hotel in a business area, close to city

We spent two nights in a wonderful hotel in the outskirts of Paris. The time of travel was between XMas and New Year and since the hotel is located on a business area a bit further from the city centre the area was really quiet. The restaurant in the hotel only served a few different salads as dinner, nothing else but all the other times it should be open.

We had a studio room, a big room with cooking possibilities. We also booked a special rate through hotels.com which included breakfast (buffet, good) in the room price. As a nice surprise we also had 2-days metro tickets in the reservation!

The city is close, only rough 10 minutes from the hotel by RER train. The Nanterre-Prefecture station is located under the hotel so easy to reach. Area was quiet with some pizzerias around the square and the hotel restaurant of course. The personnel was helpful and provided us with nice maps of the city and metros. The parking garage was also underneath the hotel and safe. The hotel was easy to reach from the ring road by car.

All in all, I'd warmly recommend the hotel to everybody visiting Paris, especially by car and/or with children.

the hotel was right above one of the subway stations so it was really easy to get about and the hotels ground floor has a supermarket, cafe and Italian restaurants and located right on the edge of a park, the hotel is separated in to 2 buildings with reception only in one of the buildings.

I would recommend it !!!

It was a first time in Paris and had taken my wife for a weekend getaway.
The reception staff were extremely helpful in planning our day and guiding us to make the best of the short time we had.

The hotel is not in the centre of Paris, but for a suburban hotel it is very conveniently located few hundred yards away from the local metro. A late night taxi from the Arc de Truimphe (pardon the misstype) after a Lido show cost us less than 20 Euro's - which I thought was not tooo bad.

The rooms are quite spacious, the air conditioning worked ok, though could have been stronger. The general decor of the hotel is functional and business like. One should not expect to see a Parisian character.

There are a few eateries around and we were served dinner by a friendly Italian restaurant around the corner at 10:30 pm.

Great value and east access to the center of Paris

Mecure Nanterre is a little further out from La Defense (10 min walk). The hotel is less than a minute walking distance from the RER stop. So you can walk/train from CDG to the hotel. Center of Paris is only 10 min on the train - great value, quiet and convenient.

Chambre correcte pour un hotel de cette gamme mais surtout l’impression d’avoir dormi dans la station de RER tellement le bruit et les vibrations pouvaient se ressentir. Horrible nuit

Pas capable de me dépanner avec un câble recharge téléphone, aimable comme des cailloux, pas poss de recharger sa voiture au parking, un seul peignoir alors que l’on est deux ! Vraiment bof mais bien placé pour les concerts

Pour les points positifs de la chambre privilège :
-bien placé à la sortie du métro et proche de La Défense arena, pratique quand on va à un concert.
-Grand lit très confortable.
-Chambre très propre.
-Check in et Check out rapide et efficace.
-Wc séparé de la salle de bains.

Pour les points négatifs :
-La clim ne fonctionne pas et l’ouverture de la fenêtre est très petite donc nous avons eu très chaud. J’avais lu un avis qui disait la même chose et la réception avait dit que la climatisation devait être enclenchée le 15 mai mais c’est faux car nous y avons dormi le 24 mai. Quand je choisis un hôtel je le sélectionne en fonction de la clim et pour un 4 étoiles c’est inadmissible que ça ne fonctionne pas, même à cette période !
-Aussi il y a 1 seul peignoir et 1 seule paire de chaussons pour 2 personnes, c’est incroyable ! Et ça aussi j’avais lu en amont l’avis d’une personne qui s’en plaignait. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi !
-Le frigo ne fait quasiment pas de froid.
Pour une nuit nous ne nous sommes pas plains mais si ça avait été plusieurs nuits je l’aurai fais…..

En conclusion ça pourrait être un bon hôtel de part sa literie très confortable et sa propreté mais il y a quand même quelques points non négligeables à revoir !

Greit Hotel, men ikke 4 stjerner

Stort fint rom for handicapped. Lyd fra undergrunnsbane forplantet seg i rommet. Aircondition ville ikke hotellet sette på kjøling når det var 29 grader ute. Vaskepersonalet tok privat kort ut av strømbryter. Fikk det aldri tilbake. Vanskelig å sove på grunn av støy og plast under sengetøy (tisseunderlag). Ingen stekte egg og egg måtte man koke selv ( og passe på) ellers grei frokost.

Hotel difficile a trouver même si il est à 20 m de la bouche de métro, on s'oriente très facilement sur la résidence géré par l'hotel Mercure, qui posséde un panneau et non l'entrée de l'hotel qui elle n'en possède pas. l'entrée du RER proche on entend un peu le passage du RER même au 5ème étage, mais cela reste acceptable. personnel super gentil et attentionné
