It's a nice enough Courtyard, however, it's pretty far away from the La Defense district. It's also very far from Paris. The staff at the hotel, day shift, were short & limited in knowledge. There was a terrific night shift gentleman however. The elevator, one of two, broke and remained down for the majority of our stay. There's not a lot of dining close. You have to go at least a mile out for a decent dining experience.

Stay was great, but massive hassle with payment!

The stay was comfortable and the staff was extremely courteous. However, despite the booking being entirely prepaid, the hotel asked to block an amount of 200Euros for ongoing expenses which I agreed to. The idea was to deduct the city tax (appx 20 EUR) and return the balance 180 euros. However, the hotel debited the entire 200Euros (which the staff acknowledged was a mistake), and I am having to follow up for my refund!

Stayed here for four nights for a wedding. Close to good transport links to centre of Paris, as tram stop is closely located near hotel. Comfortable bed and clean room. Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Breakfast is basic pastries and cereals and fruit and hot food.

4 tram stations away from La Defense. The location has around a few places to eat and the hotel has its own restaurant. It is Marriott standard, so no surprises. I picked this place due to the location that was convenient. The price was more reasonable compared to the Paris hotels.

Beware of Extra City Tax Charged

I would give the rating a five if not that during checkout, i was told to pay 4.4€ per night for City tax. Since i stayed for 4 days, an extra US$22 was charged. I had no choice but paid them in order to arrive airport ontime.
I understand that when I booked thru Expedia, every cents should have been paid for.
Is there something missing here between Expedia and Courryard?

Way to far out was ripped off by two cab drivers broke my ankle no consideration the first day the gentleman gave us the room down the end of the hall and a bath tub o could not get in the second night the girl was super and told us to use uber moved the room to a handicapp room

Super expensive for middle-of-the-road service and comfort. My room was stinking of smoke - being asthmatic, that wasn't ideal. Service at the restaurant is very arrogant. The area is to avoid if you can. All in all, the Adagio next door offers much better value for money.

Perfect location, great people, great value.
I showed up early, due to flight schedules, and they were happy to let me use the workout room facilities to freshen up, and then they got me into a room well ahead of regular check-in.
Wifi was fast. Location great. Breakfast very good.
Especially at the price, an overall excellent experience.

Two family rooms which was four rooms that were connected...booked for 8 people (very good). The price was right for 8 people which included breakfast, parking and internet. Rooms were a little small and hardly no closet space...it is sufficient for short stays. However, the service was Outstanding and special compliments to Jeremy at front desk who went out of his way to assist us in planning visit to city. Also compliments to the Hostess (forgot name) during breakfast who was very helpful despite they had run out of foods on our second day. The made pancakes but no syrup. Ran out of vegetables and various other little things...not representative of a 4 Star hotel. On a sadder note, the location of the hotel is outside of the city further than expected and the area is not very good. It is centrally located to a tram station but you still need to go to La Defense subway station for connecting to the city. I would not let my family walk around by themselves. The hotel parking garage (1.9m) was too small for a van but they allow us to park out front of the hotel. I found out all underground parking in Paris is limited to 1.9 or less.

Undergoing Renovation during our stay\n

I have stayed at this hotel before. it is convenient for local industry and La Defense, and is only about 20 minutes from the centre of Paris via tram and Metro.
During our stay the hotel lobby and dining area were undergoing renovation, so everything smelt of paint. This should all be completed by the 15th August 2016. We had to operate the TV via the controls on it's back; the remote would not work at all. The bathroom only has a shower, which was OK for us.
Food was OK, especially considering the renovations. The staff were courteous and pleasant.
Only real negative were having to pay seventeen euros per night for use of their garage, which required reception to open and close the access doors, and also the 'free' Wi-Fi was not that good, (speed and reliability were poor) especially since if you had not requested it, you would have to pay nine euros per day for it.

Really bad ventilation in the room. No pressure in the shower. I had to sit down to get some poring water that was ice cold. Told the Frontdesk about my issues and although the janitor tried to fix it it was almost no difference the day after. The only response from the receptionist was that they would fix it for my next stay (which will never happen). 230€ Per night feels like a robbery!

Rude Staff and Poor service very unlike Marriott !

Extremely disappointed with the stay. Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and had 2 rooms booked. This was my fourth visit to the hotel and I had a poor experience in the last trip as well but was reassured by the hotel manager that they will ensure that I will not be dissapointed should I come back and so I did which now I know was a Big Mistake !! The staff was rude with exception of a couple of staff members at the front desk. The room keeping was poor and was completely inconsistent and forgot to replace used glasses and even left used towels in the room. The key cards to the room did not work at all and had to get them recharged every time I wanted to access to my room and for a fault which was hotel's own , there was no apology from them and I was made to identify myself to gain entrance to my room ..... I would never stay at this hotel ever again as the whole experience was spoiled by rude staff and poor service ......

A fabulous hotel - the breakfast was plantiful and very tasty, the parking was so easy, free wifi in the lobby area and best of all, the biggest comfiest bed I've slept in for a long time. Slept like a log and didn't believe my partner when he said it was 9am.

A modern clean hotel on the north edge of the business district. It is a bit out of the action but we enjoyed the calm of the area and relaxing in a modern room after a full day of walking/ site seeing. It is about a 10 minute trip by tram to the La Defense subway stop and 25 minutes trip by public transit to the central Paris tourist area. Our room was large, modern, very clean and included a small fridge to keep sodas and snacks. The breakfast included with the room price was quite good - eggs, bacon, pasteries, fruit. The hotel is also about 2 blocks from a small supermarket and a McDonalds.

This was our third visit to the hotel. We have used the Marriott brand in more that one country and this hotel is a favorite. However this time I was not very pleased with the service provided by house keeping. Coffee cups were not replaced, dirty dishes were not picked up until the next afternoon. Even the tea and milk were not sufficient for a double occupancy room! The reception staff were helpful and made up to some extent.

The location of the hotel was not great as one had to either walk to the train station (10 minutes) and get train to Paris (15 mins) or catch a bus to La Defence (15 mins) then train into Paris (20 mins) however, once we were used to the journey it was OK. Also the hotel is not in a good location re security - the area is quite rough, we felt a little vulnerable walking around after dark and there was only one decent restaurant nearby which was by the station.
My husband is a smoker and kept being hassled for cigarettes outside the hotel by locals. It would be great it there was a door onto the courtyard att the back of the hotel.

A little outside Paris, but with the Transillien train not too far down the street, it's an easy trip into the city. A side note - Saint Lazare station is large and spread out so it may take some time to get to know the way around it. The bathroom is very French - it has a window to it, so stay with someone you know well. Clean and modern, Meals are overpriced. There is free wi-fi in the lobby, but if you don't get the \"high room\" it's a ridiculous price inside your own room. The room price was right for a 4 star Paris hotel - I guess they want to gouge you on the extras. Staff were well-mannered, spoke English. Overall a very nice hotel.

OK hotel/location - HORRIBLE BED

The location, although not in Central Paris, is alright. By car, it takes about 15 minutes. There is also a bus, I believe that goes straight from the hotel into city center. There's nothing at all in the area, but it's quiet, which is nice. Overall, the hotel is well kept. It's very clean and hotel staff are quite nice. HOWEVER, the bed was absolutely horrible!! The mattress had no support so you sunk in. And, it was covered in some sort of a plastic which you definitely felt beneath you. The sheets were such a cheap cotton, really rough against the skin. My boyfriend who could sleep through a typhoon was tossing and turning all night. It's a shame, because if the bed was of a good quality, I would give the hotel a really good review. Up side was that in the morning, when I mentioned our sleepless night, the concierge gave us a complimentary breakfast, which cost an insane 18euro. Also, parking for the night was 17euro which is quite expensive for the area. Perhaps it was just our room that lacked in comfort a little...but if you're looking for a good night sleep I'm not sure this is the hotel for you..,

Marriot in Colombes PAris

My overall stay in the hotel was 7 nights and was overall quite pleasant. I booked 2 rooms for 6 people and was told that extra rollaway beds were not booked. The hotel did eventually do their best and provided an extra rollaway bed for no extra charge for the duration of our stay.
The hotel does not advertise free wifi so I did not take my laptop - when I got there free wifi was available in the lobby so if I had known about this I would have brought my laptop. We did not have breakfast as I felt that it was quite expensive for 6 people.
The room was always well maintained, cleaned to satisfaction and came with the usual extras - hairdryer, safe, iron, complementary tea/coffee, toiletries, TV, etc.
The location is in zone 3 so expect to travel. This was not a problem for us because we did not really wait more than 5 minutes for a bus direct to defense. From here an RER was also 4 stops away from central Paris so it wasnt too bad.
There is a supermarket accross the road so we were able to fill up the fridges with cheaper snacks than in the hotel and there was also a good choice of local take aways within walkin distance so food was never a problem.
Contrary to other reviews, we found the local area very safe and never had any problems day or night.
Overall I would definitely stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Paris' hidden gem

We were greeted by a lovely receptionist that was extremely helpful. We arrived quite late at 10:15 and the kitchen closed at 10:30 but they ensured that we made it in time so that we could have dinner and answered any questions that we had. This was the best hotel experience that I have ever received. The food was amazing and the customer service was top notch. The room was spacious and luxurious. The hotel is not in the city centre but it's easy to get there. They are extending the rail to the hotel so the prices may go up once this happens because at this moment in time the hotel is accessible by taking the metro to La Defense then a short bus ride which may have kept the prices reasonable.

Good rooms, room service can improve.

Good and spacious rooms, Good english speaking staff. Had 2 difficulties - The Safe in the room was locked and it took a while to get it opened. Felt this could have been done quicker. Also the Door lock was not operating and it took a while to get the room changed.
Sometimes when requested for plates, we were asked to come at the reception and get the same. Expect the same to be provided in the room.
Think all these issues can be resolved by adding a extra staff, however, would leave it to the hotel to act upon.

This was a great hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The design was very modern and fresh. The rooms were very nice. Beds a little firm but they were ok. The room was very clean and it had a very modern look to it. i thought it was a little weird that the bathroom had a little window looking into the room. The hotel location is ok. Right now there is construction work going on in front of the hotel as they are expanding the SNCF line. However, it wasn't a problem during our stay. This hotel was amazing!! Would stay here again.

A little far out

The hotel itself is nice the staff are friendly and accomodating. However the only real problem I found was the distance factor to Paris. The hotel can only be reached via subway and then bus. The hotel also does not offer a shuttle service from the airport. So, getting to the hotel with luggage was a nightmare. In retrospect I would have paid more money to be a little closer to main attractions. The hotel does plan to open up a subway line that reaches Columbes but its still in the works, and consequently you get to hear and see construction outside your window.

Think hard!!!!

Let me try to make this easy for you.. If you are going for a TOURIST trip, I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel to any one.. The following are the reasons: - It is situated in the 'La Defense' (Zone 3) area of Paris, which unfortunately is a new commercial/ office development outside Paris. To get to the hotel from CDG airport, we had to take 2 trains and a bus. - This area, for whatever reason, has a very rundown look, is populated more by immigrants than native French and is almost entirely deserted in the night. So, I do not think any Tourist would feel safe coming here after 10 PM - Traveling to the hotel in the night is a very difficult experience, because the bus frequency comes down and buses are jam packed But to be fair to the hotel, it was very clean, comfortable and had nice conveniences like 24x7 room service etc. I guess they forgot the cardinal rule of building hotels.. \"Location, Location, Location\"

First Time In Paris

Booked this hotel as a present for my girlfriend and was extremely satisfied with the hotel overall. The Staff on reception where always very helpfull, helped with the Metro system and also recommended a very nice restraunt for our last night. The food at the Hotel isn't the best, very limited menu and expensive for what it is. But would definately recommend this hotel, Brilliant holiday in all.

Great Experience

Nice people and good food. Rooms were just right in size. Everyone was more than willing to help in anyway. The location was kind of a far from any of the sites, but over all it was nice. The location is in a business area. But it's a short bus ride to the metro then, once you get it all figured out, easy to get just about anywhere. Rooms weren't cleaned like I like, but I would stay there again for sure.

Classy hotel in a shabby neighborhood

We knew this hotel wasn't in a convenient location for tourists (you have to take a bus to get to the Metro), but we were a little surprised at how run down the neighborhood was. We were advised not to go out alone at night. The buses were packed even at 1 am and I rode standing with one hand on the pole and the other on my wallet. Inside the hotel was a different world. The staff was generally helpful, but could not tell us how to make a call from our room to a toll free number and finally suggested we go across the street to call! Bottom line: we got a great rate on a nice room, which made up for the inconvenience of getting around.

Nice hotel, but out of the way location

Great for those who are accustomed to commuting, but probably not the favorite location for those who want to be able to walk out of their hotel and be in the historic center of Paris. About 10/20 minutes via bus and/or train to the center of Paris – we really enjoyed the hotel, but we are used to commuting. There is a bus stop directly across the street from the hotel that takes you to LaDefense’s central train station. Regional train stop about 2 blocks away.

My biggest suggestion is to look at Paris metro website before going - fairly easy commute once you know where to go.

Le lobby fait office de dortoir le matin pour les clients qui arrivent tôt. C’est moyen.
Il est très sale le soir en arrivant, limite choquant.
Le temps d’attente au check in est très long.

Bon hôtel mais environnement insécure

Chambre grande et bien agencée. Lit de bonne taille.
Isolation sonore pas terrible, on entend les portes du couloir et les voisins de chambres.
Parking couvert et protégé apprécie.

Alentour de l'hôtel un peu insécure. Je n'ai pas osé sortir manger à l'exterieur, beaucoup de jeunes ayant tenter de m'importuner lors de mon arrivée.

All in all okay but:

Bathroom (room 402,) was flooded after 1min shower because the edge of the shower was misaligned so that water flew out rather than back in. Addressing this one morning and promise that they will look into it and no solution on the same morning is not something I accept from a chain like Marriott...

During checkout I came to know that they wanted to taky my Bonvoy points for the stay even I booked via Hotels.com
If I had not explicitly asked for an invoice I would not have realized.

Summary:
OK hotel but staff not too competent, unfortunately.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer war gut ausgestattet und die Betten waren sehr bequem. Die Bahn ist zu Fuß schnell erreichbar, die Umgebung war gepflegt und ansprechend.
Das Frühstück war sehr vielfältig, wobei Brötchen etwas gefehlt haben.
Es war ein sehr angenehmer und zufriedenstellendervAufenthalt.

In diesem Mariott fühlst du dich nicht was besonderes wie bei anderen Mariotts. Das Essen ist sehr schlecht, Frühstück sowie Restaurant und sehr teuer. Das Frühstück ist das gleiche wie in einem billigen Hotel aber der Preis ist sehr hoch. Zwei Tage hintereinander musste ich melden dass ich kein Duschgel habe, mein Zimmer wurde am 2 Tag nicht gemacht, ich hatte gebeten die Heizung auszustellen, was ebenfalls nicht gemacht wurde. Die Lage des Hotels ist nicht schön und es gibt nichts schönes in der Nähe. Das einzige Mariott dass mich bis jezt enttäuscht hat.
