The whirlpool was closed which was disappointing and our room was right beside the gym which was open 24 hours so when someone decided to use the medicine ball at 1am it woke us up. Internet should be free for a hotel this expensive.

The bed was incredibly comfortable. The room was spacious. Everything was very clean. Housekeeping was attentive. Check in staff were professional and accommodating. Only observation requiring review is that we ate at the Victor steakhouse and the food was below expectation. However the hotel was great as was the D6 lounge with DJ and dancing.

We were welcomed at the front desk by Arina, who was super helpful. She listened to our interests, and guided us to areas to visit. We can't say enough good things about her. She made us feel like we were coming home, rather than checking into a hotel. Thank you as well Arina for the treats and map you had delivered to our room. We will be back! FIVE STARS!

The Douglas is our favourite spot in the city. The suites are beautiful and large. It’s always quiet and perfect for a weekend getaway. Nice to get a free upgrade to a 1 bed suite from Junior suite too!😊

They had to move us on the 12th floor for the second night. Less of a problem but still we could clearly hear the music …

It is a beautiful hotel and the staff is very friendly and attentive. We had an upgraded king room that overlooked the water feature. The Aesop bath products and robes elevate the stay. Unfortunately, on this visit, our particular room had a very noisy mechanical issue that disrupted our sleep but we would try this property again.

I mostly enjoyed my stay here. It was clean and comfortable, and in a very good location. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Some design elements were odd - why was there a window from the bedroom looking into the shower? I also hated the showerhead - it's a rainfall style head that makes it impossible to stand in the shower without getting your hair wet unless you contort your entire body. Plus, they didn't provide a shower cap, which makes it worse. The strangest thing, though, was the lack of a fridge. Instead, in what would be a perfect spot for a fridge, there was...a Yeti cooler. With instructions to add ice to it. Really strange and kind of ridiculous for a hotel of this calibre. I feel like a Yeti cooler costs roughly what a mini fridge does anyway....just get a fridge in the room!

What an absolutely beautiful property. The Douglas is located next to BC Place and about a 5-10 min walk to Roger’s Arena. There are many restaurants in the property and dozens within a 5 minute walk.
The service was friendly and 5/5, the room was modern, quiet and very comfortable. We loved the Aesop products in the bathroom and the robes were so comfy. We will be back.

Stayed here for 2 night during our anniversary! The facilities itself is great. Connected to the JW Marriott. Check in process was a little slow but I think it was just that night. Underground parking is good but pricey at $50 a day. We booked the breakfast option with was room service. Although it was good breakfast I would skip it for the price. Small gym but was most of what you need and it is open 24/7. We walked over to the JW Marriott and realized our gym passes also worked at their gym which is much bigger with lots more equipment. Lots of restaurant options if you prefer to dine in the building. Casinos for those who partake. Short walk to lots of restaurants and coffee options! Staff was friendly. Would stay again!

A beautiful, clean hotel with great staff. We did have an issue with our room, however. They gave us Room 754 next to the Fitness Centre on the 7th floor. In the early mornings we were awakened by the pounding sound of the treadmill. Also the loud, clunking sound of someone dropping their dumbells on the on the floor.
I spoke to the people at the front desk and they said they were unable to give us any full or partial refund because we booked through Expedia. Instead, they signed us up for their Marriott rewards program and gave us 5000 bonus points. I was not happy with this response.

DJ in the lobby meant we couldn’t sleep at our desired time of 10pm - constant thumping was felt/heard even through earplugs (which we shouldn’t have to wear). Hotel rooms are meant for sleep when guests desire sleep. Consider moving the nightclub off property or installing much better sound-deadening in the lobby ceiling. We did not rest properly - and for the amount of money paid to stay in this hotel, this is obviously not a good look/experience.
Absence of an in room fridge is a bit strange. The Yeti cooler is nice, but doesn’t fit the image of a five star brand when it’s just sitting out in the open. I had also asked for ice to be placed inside - concierge confirmed this but it didn’t happen. Same for my bonvoy number - which was provided but not uploaded.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. However, there is an outdoor bar on the east side of the building that is very loud. Lots of music, people till at least 10pm. Complained to the manager and was told the bar wasn't owned by the hotel so there was nothing they could do. Manager was lovely and gave us free breakfast and then an upgrade the next day when a new room was available. But very annoying for this class of hotel. Do not recommend.

So what's the point in telling the hotel how many people are staying when we don't even get the right amount of robes and slippers at booking?
