I must have gotten the worst room in the hotel, didn't look like the pictures. All the furniture was wore down. There are no shelves to put your toiletries in the bathroom. The light in the room and bathroom is cold, light saving bulbs

Location was great for those that are comfortable walking around town. The apartment was spacious and a great base for us in Avignon. There are many dining and market options nearby. Hosts were great and easy to contact if needed.
The only thing to be aware of is that parking in the area is quite difficult (for much of old Avignon). When being dropped off by taxi we walked about 5 minutes to save a very slow drive in the city.

Overall ok - hotel and rooms need a bit of updating/ refreshing in my opinion. The first room I was in had several non working plugs. Second room also had some non working ones but was more usable. Staff was very kind and helpful. Location is good and within walking distance of the city centre and close to public transport.

My sons and I stayed for one night at the hotel Charlemagne so we could experience the city and the food culture it provided. We enjoyed the air conditioning the hotel had to offer in the rooms AAA we happened to hit a warm spell at the time of our visit. The lobby is fine, the elevators smaller than one might expect at a 4 star hotel, but all in all the photos of the facility are fairly accurate. It is a nice place to stay for the money you pay.

A good spot in Lyon

While a little \"worn around the edges\", this hotel is very pleasant. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Bed comfort is very good. We discovered a good bistro down the road - the midi-minuit - which actually closes at 10:30 (bizarre given the name). Looked at Georges bistro but was overcrowded and too noisy. If you arrive late, parking is free in the street.

I had a bad experience at this hotel with noise and cleanliness; to their credit, the staff made it right by letting me out of 3 of the 4 nights I had prepaid, so kudos to them.

Still, it wasn't what I expected from their marketing material. It was more of a motor lodge in character. Also, the area is probably fine if you're there for the convention center, but access to any other part of the city requires a stroll from Part Dieu, the train station - sketchy at best.

The Hotel was fabulous, clean and easy to reach. We loved our room with a great view, a hot bath and a strong WIFI signal. Nice hotel, comfortably located next to two Tram stops that could take you anywhere in the city. But overall NOT a 4 star experience. We bought a superior room which was not that superior with an air conditioning system that is from the past century because terribly noisy, and although warned by a clear and noticeable sign inside the elevator, a nightmarish experience for breakfast with a waiting line to be seated that took ages and work overrun personnel that couldn't have time to be nice and accommodate us the best of ways (although they surely tried).

My wife and I went for 2 nights and had an excellent experience. The staff were very kind and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable bed. It was minutes away from the train station Lyon Perrache, 10 min from the confluence and 40min walk to Old Lyon. Would definitely recommend.

If too big, you won’t fit!

Nice hotel but toilet room excessively small.
You have to (proceed) with your knees touching the door. The washroom is the size or smaller than on a plain.

Overall very good but the staff didn't show us the way to our room like they said they would and so we got lost (we could've never guessed the right way to our room as first-time guests). The bin in our bathroom was also not replaced on one of the days and was left disassembled. I'm pretty sure the door to our terrace was also open the entire time we were there as we couldn't figure out how to lock it properly. Other than that, very pleasant, spacious, light, and comfortable room in a good location.

Actual condition of room was very different from how it was advertised on the website. Balcony was very dusty with fallen leaves all over. Bedsheet was also found with stains. Checked out an hour after checking in. Staff service was great though, understanding and patient.

This property is located right near a train and bus station with easy access to Vieux Lyon (old Lyon), there is a lot of restaurants and shops around the hotel as well. The hotel breakfast was also excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Lyon.

The property was not anything like in the photos. It was run down and old. You literally had to walk outside to another building to go to your room and neither the front entrance or the additional building had any security - anyone could just walk in. They should have to use a key to gain access. The staff at the font desk was wonderful.

We had a nice stay here. The front desk staff were helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious with a nice little patio. Air conditioner did not work very well however I found the foam mattress topper on left me sinking more than I like. And the other major annoyance was that my European AC adapter did not fit the electric outlets in the room though they worked in every other hotel we stayed in. The front desk did not have a substitute for us and we had to find one that fit this hotels fixtures.

I did not like the area. While it’s certainly convenient if you need to take the train, the area feels unsafe at night and it is extremely dark, obscured. Almost like if the city lights were dimmed down. The facility is very good and the staff is amazingly friendly.

Very nice hotel. Smallish rooms, tiny elevator - but, Europe - it's like that. Very easy to the tram, subway, bus. Easy from the airport with Rhone express to Vaulx-en-Velin la Soie and then subway to Perrache. Walk or Tram to Musee de Beaux Artes and all of vieux Lyon. Walk to the Vaporetto. Spent three nights and would again.

The staff were lovely but this is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms are incredibly small, the elevators…you can barely fit two people let alone any luggage. The area is blah with not many places to eat. Overall I would say this is 2.5 stars.

This was a nice place in a great location if you’re happy with the tram being right nearby. Very friendly staff and good breakfast options. Only negative is toilet area is cramped. Also, elevator is tiny if you are travel with large bags, it could be tricky. We only had carryons so it was fine for us. We would definitely stay here again!

Decent location...walkable to all the cool areas on the island. If walking isn't your speed, there's a tram station across the street and a metro station within five minutes or so. Safe area, decent bar/restaurant options immediately close by. The hot spots start after about a 20 minute walk.

Hotel itself is nice, clean, and decently renovated inside despite an older looking exterior. Staff is nice, room always cleaned, and the breakfast had lots of options.

This is not a 4 star hotel whatsoever, it's a hotel purely targeted towards conferences. We were shooed away from the coffee bar area when ordering a coffee so that the conference group could use the space. Really dirty, worn, tired hotel. Area not great, near a business centre but that's it. We had a few unfortunate incidents and when I raised them with manager Anita, she dismissed me. Her arrogance and lack of customer service was appalling. There are much areas and hotels to stay at in Lyon. This hotel is incredibly overpriced for what you get

Male person checking us in was rude when we told him Americans only need to show their vaccination card and only EU countries need to show the proof that you get at the pharmacy. He needs to read up on the rules!

A good place to spend the night

It sparkles. The bathroom fixtures were top quality Grohe. The shower was roomy and the high stnding toilet would make all AARP members sit comfortably. The bed was triple sheeted, the mattress solid enough for me to perform my yoga routine. And the pillows enhanced my dreams.

Short pleasant visit to Lyon arrived by train

The staff were friendly and helpful, hotel was close to tramline and Big Bus stop, breakfast was good but on check out tax was added to the quoted price. The Confluence shopping Centre is an easy walk. There were plenty of eating places nearby. We went to dine at hotel restaurant and menu had changed from that advertised. It was hand written and hard to understand also no one else in the restaurant which wasn't promising so we dined elsewhere.
