We ordered cappuccinos and the person made them from the self serve machine and put them in a mug instead of taking the time to make them properly by hand. Also our instant coffee maker was not working in the room. The beds were a but stiff. Alex was very good. Location is great. We were happy overall.

The room quality doesn’t match the lobby aesthetically - I’d consider the rooms pretty basic. Bed was ok - pillows were nice. The person who checked us in couldn’t have been less interested in the customer service experience. The area seemed nice and location was close to a train station that made it easy to get to the airport. Glad we only stayed here the one night.

Lovely hotel. Didn't know it was the sister property of the the Ambassador, until the person who checked us out remembered us from that hotel. Staff was really friendly and helpful. My wife actually left her purse on the chair at the downstairs bar, and after 10 minutes, nobody had took it. That was a relief.

Upon arrival the splendour of the old building, its design and location was a stand out.
The reception staff greeted us with poise and helpfulness.
Our room, initially, was not what we hoped for. It was no trouble for the staff to change our room to one with a balcony - such was their helpfulness. Our stay was made easier by the ready availability of fresh fruit and milk sachets for guests. Sitting in the parlour was a joy as there were plenty of interesting books to read. A highly recommended venue - classy, close to anything you want to see and do - we felt very special as guests and nothing troubled the staff. Highly recommended

I really enjoyed my time in this hotel. The room was very comfortable and everything, including the air conditioning, worked perfectly. The only negative is that the elevator is tiny and barely large enough for one person with luggage. It must have been there before the building was renovated. But you get used to it. And the location is super. I highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our AC didn’t work initially, however they moved our room & on top of it had a technician come check the floor’s AC. The new room was even cooler the next day. We opted for the breakfast in the morning and they had a great selection with excellent coffee. There was a convenient store/supermercado across the street open late. There was a very nice tapas bar on the corner where we stopped in very late one night and ate. But the street was quiet & very safe. A couple of blocks (up/down and to sides) there were many places to eat also. Our 4 night stay was excellent. I’d definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel. The two negatives were that we needed laundry service and it wasn’t available on the weekends. And the parking was offsite during a time when roads were closed off so it took us some time to get into the hotel. But the hotel and area were great. And staff was super helpful!

I arrived and had paid for the night before. I wanted to exchange some cash. The clerk said yes but refused to take US $$ and said they would only accept exchange of Euros for Swiss Franks. I asked: why in the world? She said “those are the rules”. So I guess this Swiss hotel really does not want US guests. The room fit a bed and not much else. Worn carpet. I paid good money for a decent room and was put in a crap room.

I booked a superior room that looked like a downgraded version of a standard room. Old carpets, very tiny bathroom. I especially said I want to have a quite room and when I opened the door I realized I was put directly with all windows facing the Main Street. Very disappointing.

A beautiful boutique hotel. I’ve previously stayed at the sister Ambassador hotel, but this was my first stay at the Opera. Very friendly, effective & accommodating staff. I arrived extremely early at 09:00. I was provided with coffee and the staff arranged for my room to ready for me by around 10:30. Room was very nice & I would certainly recommend staying here.

Last year we stayed in the same room and enjoyed a lot. But this time, it was not the same. There was no free coffee service at the lobby even a welcome drink. The biggest problem was the rude behaviour and the way of communication. We did not like the new way. We dont think of staying again.

Last year we also stayed at or powder and there was a promotion that affected us very much which was that they offered free coffee for Dere visitors we came this year and choose opera only for this reason otherwise it was an expensive hotel but this year we were shocked that they even did not offer a welcome drink the new design of reception was very bad

Great location in Zurich very close to train station and easy walk to main attractions. Service at hotel was lovely and breakfast was a very nice spread. Especially for a jet lagged guest, being able to eat breakfast at ~6:15 am was very nice (most other places opened around 8 am if not later). Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. They also had adapters you could use for free (put down a deposit but then this was given back when you returned the adapters) which was very helpful as we forgot to bring.

Perfect hotel and area! So quiet we slept with the balcony doors and window open and didn’t hear a thing! Beautiful view of the lake from our balcony, which was quite spacious. Room was a good size and impeccably clean. We were in a Opéra Superior Plus room, we added the breakfast to our stay and it was totally worth it! Fantastic hot and cold foods, freshly pressed juices and smoothies. There is so much to choose from you will love it! Service is 5 star, very safe area, walking distance to everything you need and a block up from the lake. Lots of shopping and restaurants. Parking is across the street at the opera house, under ground very safe and clean. We will definitely book this hotel again.

This is definitely not a four star hotel - good location but limited facilities ( no dining or fitness center for instance ) and rooms are dated and cramped. Be warned - prices in Zurich are exorbitant. Taxies, restaurants, hotels etc. are two to three times US equivalent.

The hotel was being refurbished, which did involve some minor inconveniences, but this was more than made up for by the exceptionally considerate and charming staff. I had had a mishap on arrival (cracked my head in a fall, bled profusely and ended up with a spectacular shiner). Everyone was extremely kind and attentive to me and I am very grateful to them. It did not prevent me for enjoying a wonderful evening at the Opernhaus, which is just a few minutes aw.y. Would absolutely recommend - especially when the redecoration is comaplete.

Hotel Opera was undergoing a major renovation during my stay. Guests mixed with workmen and most of the ground floor was closed. Noise and dust during the day were ubiquitous. Had I known about the construction I would not choose the hotel and I believe that the owner should have close the hotel down during the time. Very disappointing.
