what a truly strange hotel. It sits on top of what looks to ne an excellent steak house yet you enter through an ummarked door in the back alley. There is no lobby, you sit at an empty table in the restaurant and fill out your registration then are hurried back into the dingy service area to an unmarked elevator and your room.

The room was clean and the breakfast good. Staff were helpful. The main shortcoming was that the hotel played canned music at breakfast - I prefer quiet. They also did this in the evening (when it is a steakhouse), although we could have gone elsewhere to eat then. Also there is a public clock somewhere near which chimes the quarter hour and is not switched off at night. (Not the hotel's fault nor the fact of our not knowing that Swiss electric sockets are different from other European ones.)

Unusual in that you check-in with restaurant staff. Had to duck to enter the shower. Otherwise no complaints. Staff kindly loaned me a plug adapter (Switzerland is different from Germany which I didn't realize).

This was our final hotel after 8 days in Switzerland. When looking for the hotel you’re looking for a restaurant as the hotel doesn’t have a traditional lobby. It has an elevator up to the 4th floor and the room had AC. To say the bathroom is small is an understatement, check out the picture. The breakfast was just ok, and didn’t start until 7:30. The hotel is in a good location, and less than a 10 minute walk to the main train station.

Not very accommodating I must say. Don't arrive early, they won't be happy with you, as if I can control the cruise ship bringing us to the city... There is no reception area, we were asked to leave our suitcases in the restaurant and go visit until check-in. Great location, some employees are friendly. After a 2 hour wait, we did get out room, probably because I was having an intense coughing fit (I got a cold on the cruise ship). Oh there are no English TV channels.

Instead through a back door that had a bunch of garbage and construction junk around it. Lacking power outlets in room especially since I have a medical condition that requires power near the bed. Asked for an extension cord but they never provided one. Breakfast was a typical European style and quite delicious. Staff were pleasant.

Hanging armor was right beside bathroom and very easy to bang your head in the night or at anytime for that matter. For being in such a busy tourist area the rooms were very quiet. The lift stopped working a few days while we were there and there wasn't anywhere secure to store bags before check-in or after checkout. The hotel is above a steakhouse restaurant and the common hallways did smell of food and meat during the evening but the rooms were always fresh.
