Staff was fantastic, I loved my room with the view of the courtyard and the bell was so comforting and romantic. The breakfast buffet was fantastic! I had a great omelette and lots of nibbles. Superb location! The only downside might be the corporate feel - almost a sterile cleanliness that felt institutional and not as boutique hotel as I expected.

One of our most favorite hotels this trip. The staff was outstanding, and went above and beyond for us. The breakfast was perfect, and the location was excellent. Walking distance to everything and easy to cross the street for busses. The only thing I want to mention is the clock tower would ring every 15m and on the hour overnight so keep that in mind if you are a light sleeper. The hotel was great and provided umbrellas for the rain and noise cancelling earphones as well. I would stay here again! Loved it

Hotel is in a great location close to shops and restaurants.
Room is clean, spacious, and had a great view. Unfortunately, we didn't sleep well because the clock tower rings every 15 minutes all day and night. I've stayed at 5 hotels in Switzerland during this trip and I would have to rate Sorell with the lowest score in terms of quality and choices.

The hotel was in a perfect location and was very clean and updated with large rooms, considering being in Europe. The breakfast was fabulous with lots of options and the staff are great! I highly recommend this location if you want to do old town Zürich. Only a 20 minute walk to the train station too. Public transportation is within minutes as well.

The Sorell Hotel St Peter was just like the photos. The bedroom was exceptionally clean, had a lovely sitting area with a table, a huge comfy bed and a good view of the cobbled street.

There was so much choice for breakfast for example fruit, cereal, yoghurts, freshly made pancakes, pastries, bread, cakes, cheese and meat selections, eggs of your choice, sausages, choice of coffee, fruit juices etc.

Great hotel but do not go in the summer. They have no A/C when the weather gets hot the rooms are very hot. We were there in July and the temperature was in the low 90’s. The rooms are designed to hold heat.

It’s a shame otherwise the hotel is great. The staff are excellent and helpful. I would be glad to go back if the weather was cool.

My favourite hotel in Zurich

Really helpful staff, really nice room, everywhere spotless, superb breakfast. Will definitely return - I've been travelling to Zurich at least twice a year for the last 15 years and found this hotel last year - I'm not looking anymore

This hotel has a superb location for either touring or shopping, very good breakfasts and good rooms. Facilities are not quite in the same class, especially the lobby or we would have given it a 5 star rating.
It suffers from the ridiculously complex controls for lighting and curtains but that is a problem with most newer hotels so we did not include it in our ratings.

Great hotel, great location. Everything is walking distance. Old town and shopping district. Helpful staff and friendly. Just be aware that some rooms are in a « basement «  Ours was in the 2nd floor but was like a semi basement. The room itself was great and spacious. Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was also great.

The property itself is new and located in the middle of the Old town area, not far from the lake and a number of sights to see. The rooms are good-sized and modern. The big downside for me was that the air conditioning was pretty bad. This is due to (the hotel staff told me) a new regulation that new properties can't have air conditioning that lowers the temperature more than 5 degrees which doesn't help when it's 90F outside. This is directly tied to my second negative area as I was told that this was Biden's fault and that Americans just want it too cold. Whether or not you're a fan of Biden, it's not the right thing to say and criticizing a traveler and their country is not what I would expect. I would say that the vast majority of the staff were very pleasant and professional but the night person simply wasn't. The third negative area is that while the hotel did indicate that parking was offsite, they didn't say that it was over 500 meters away and that you had to climb a hill on a cobblestoned street to get to the hotel. If you took a cab or a tram there, you wouldn't have a problem but if you drive, then either ignore the no cars signs to bring your luggage up first or prepare for a trek. So, if you don't mind limited air conditioning or don't travel in the summer, and don't worry about parking then you're fine but I personally wouldn't stay here again as you can find better places to stay particularly since it's a higher cost property.

Great place to land at from overseas.

Really enjoyed our room with lounge after a flight in from San Francisco. The bed was comfortable, room was nicely designed and equipped. The staff were very welcoming.

Room Was A Sauna

Don't book new or modern hotels in Europe during the summer. Our room was a sauna. When we complained about the AC, we were told it was the best they could do due to environmental regulations. It was a beautiful, modern hotel with a great staff, but we didn't sleep at all because it was so hot in the room. I slept on the floor in the basement gym because it had an air conditioner that worked.

This hotel was so beautiful. The only problem we had is that we were super hot in the summer bc the AC was not turned on. The government has a regulation about that, so we slept with the windows open and a fan.

The only fault I have with this hotel is that when I booked it they stated that they had air conditioning and not the we are here there is clearly no air conditioning. They did provide a standing fan but that does nothing. There is currently a heatwave happening and when I asked if the A/C was working the gentleman at the front desk said no because it’s to hot outside. Call me crazy but I thought that’s when one would need A/C. Anyway, the hotel is nice but way overpriced and shouldn’t have a 4 star without air conditioning.

1. The room was pretty hot despite air conditioning. The unit had a fan as indication that they are aware of this
2. I was doubled charged for my room. The staff was pretty responsive after I left in making sure that I would get my refund. Still, not very pleasant to know that you got charged twice

Don’t book during hot weather!!

The staff was really fantastic! Super friendly and helpful. The location also is terrific with so many restaurants and upscale shops virtually at your doorstep. The reason we would never stay again - or ever recommend it to anyone (at least during summer) is that the rooms are not air conditioned! When we first looked at it as an option, it clearly stated it had AC. It does not. The rooms were unbearably hot and the two floor fans the staff brought up barely made a difference. Shame on Sorell Hotels and ZFV for misleading advertising. For what we paid, and for the luxury status they claim, it’s a huge miss. I’m only sorry for the wonderful staff who is left bearing the dissatisfaction of guests (we heard others complaining about it too).

The property is very nice. Great staff. Advertised as air conditioned. Controls on air which caused us to have a horrible experience because the out side temperature was hot. We are contacting management and requesting a full refund. This experience was under the control of management. Most guest were complaining about hot stale air.

Beautiful hotel with no air conditioning

This hotel is located in the city center near luxury shopping, and restaurants. The lobby is inviting with its breezy open windows and little areas to sit and have a glass of wine.

The rooms are decorated with beautiful hues of green, orange, and black. The room had a big bathtub and rain shower. The sink counter had space makeup and toiletries.

The room had a breakfast nook area wit a table that we ate breakfast on. Breakfast can be delivered to your room. We love eating breakfast in soft fluffy hotel robes.

The bed was comfortable with a pillow menu.

My only and great complaint was that the air conditioner was not working it was broken. The room was so uncomfortable and stuffy and no sleep was had. It is hard to appreciate the beauty of the room and have the energy to see the city when you have no sleep.

The hotel offered no compensation for not giving what was advertised and that to me is poor service.

Have this been made right this hotel would have gotten a five-star review.

I would not stay at this hotel in any month where it is even remotely hot because the rooms are just so unpleasant to be in.

10/10 would stay here again. The breakfast is amazing, the room was beautiful and clean also very spacious for Europe. I worked remotely from the hotel for a few days and the wifi was incredible. It was a little hard to find and Uber will pick you up at the main road but it is a perfect location. We could hear the bells from St Peters which we loved. The staff were friendly and very helpful, accommodated an early check-in via email.

Stop Looking and Book It - Perfect Location!

Sorell Hotel St. Peter was incredible. First, the hotel is new and modern and situated in a perfect location to get out and explore literally everything the city has to offer (a few minutes walk to the lake, a few minutes to Bahnhofstrasse for you window shoppers, a few minute walk to the river and the many bridges and churches, you can't go wrong with this location! The room is huge by European standards, super comfortable, bathtub and shower, comfy bed, sitting area, pillows, etc. What really puts it on top - aside from location - is that the staff are genuine and amazing to work with. Need a transport to the airport? They got you. Need to get to Kilchberg for the Lindt Museum? They'll help you out with the bus stop and bus number (165 by the way ;). The breakfast was delicious and the people attending the breakfast bar were also top notch. I rarely write reviews, but I couldn't resist with this hotel!

EXCELLENT in every way

We are frequent travelers, having been to more than 100 cities as tourists around the world. I can honestly say that this hotel is one of the best and I can not find a single complaint. The location is PERFECT (you can't even tell from the map how easy it is to get everywhere in this compact city); the breakfast is amazing; the rooms are modern, stylish, and clean; the staff is polite and helpful. I really cannot say enough of how happy we were to have chosen this one, from start to finish!

Really lovely interior and great location. Central to Oldtown and Zürich in general. Staff were warm and helpful. Really great soundproofing in the rooms as you cannot hear the church bells at all. Had a room w access to the shared terrace which was nice. Highly recommend!

Short stay, lovely hotel, lovely staff

This was a short trip to zurich, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We stayed in the Deluxe room, which was amazingly spacious, Clean, comfortable and well laid out. The attention to detail throughout was very welcome. The location was great, just in the old town and easy to explore from. I did note some comments from people about the proximity to the church and the bells, but in all honesty, the room is well insulated and although they can be heard, we didn't find it at all intrusive in the room we were in. The old town has several churches and I suspect you will hear the bells wherever you stay. Our room was ready early, and all the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The fact that breakfast is available until 12:00 an added bonus. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would have no hesitation recommending it to others.

Sorel St Peter delivers on every level.

We stayed at The Sorel St Peter in Old Town Zurich for the final 2 nights of our 10 day vacation to Switzerland. The staff were fabulous! Courteous, helpful, attentive and spoke impeccable English. The room was beautiful with comfortable pillows and linens and complimentary fruit and sparkling water. The television was set up so that would could stream our apps directly to it. The water pressure and hot water were terrific. The continental breakfast was amazing, complete with champagne, fruits, cheeses, meats, breads, cappuccino, bacon, sausage, pancakes etc…. This was included with the room charge. A beautiful lounge with incredible book selections. A fantastic location with shopping and restaurants directly out the front door. Highly recommend!

The hotel does not have any parking facility or agreement with a parking garage, hence I had to wait for more than an hour to get an offsite parking spot . No help whatsoever- just the tip to look for other parking garages in Zuerich. Rooms were not ready at 2.20 PM, no restaurant on site.... Not recommendable given the cost/ benefit ratio...

Very nice hotel in a central location and old town right near a major tram stop in the main shopping district. The staff was excellent and knowledgeable of all the activities to do in the area and the room was top notch. Breakfast was included in the room charge and was delicious. Fun weekend in Switzerland

OK. i really loved this place. The location in old town was pretty amazing. quiet (except perhaps the church bells which give this location its name) with a wonderful view onto an intimate plaza with a couple of restaurants. no real big view and there are apartments facing it on the other side of the plaza, but it felt like being in the center of Zurich. staff was great, room was great, and the breakfast was pretty delicious. big thumbs up.

Great hotel with perfect location

The hotel location is excellent, located at city center but peace and quiet inside. Close to all attractions and public transportation. Our room was spacious and clean. comfort bedding. the breakfast is excellent. Besides all these , I want to thanks all front desk staff, they supported me printed all documents,and found all departments which can help us after we lost our passports. ( we found them after 24 hours ) .
