Every team member we encountered were all very kind, helpful., efficient and courteous which make us want to stay there again on our next visit in Zurich. Our room was always kept clean on our 4 nights stay , loved watching Lucy lights at night from our window which we slightly ajar intermittently for fresh air . The only negative was shower drain got so full quickly which we rectified by adjusting rain shower pressure not to overflow . Over all a great stay especially around Christmas time .

Reception staff were a bit dismissive.
I wish that all hotels appreciated older, solo, female travellers. We have money, no mortgages and, if made to feel welcome, we will spend our money IN the hotel - meals, room service etc.
My room was the furthest it could be from Reception. It was a nice room but I know it was not the best single room I could have been given. Therefore, it was not value for money. And would not bring me back. As a contrast, in both the Four Seasons in Vienna (for a similar price), I was treated extremely well and will stay there again. And, likewise, in a four star hotel in Slovenia, I was made VERY welcome - therefore had room service one night and ate in their restaurant the next night, and bought champagne in their bar.

The hotel lists “24 hour shuttle service to and from the airport available”. When I asked the front desk, they stated they have no shuttle service. I reached out to Expedia on this who also spoke to the hotel and they reiterated they don’t have a shuttle service. This hotel is falsely advertising an accommodation that they in fact do not offer at all and continue to promote and lie about this accommodation. Much better hotels in the area that do provide shuttle services and aren’t falsely promoting it.

Hotel is in a good location, but very outdated. Staff is not good at communicating, not so friendly, housekeeper doesn’t speak English which makes it difficult to understand. We were not notified of extra charges when the housekeeper brought us rollaway which we didn’t ask for. Very disappointed with this hotel.

Very close to terminal (less than 5 min walk). Breakfast was great. Downside - while they claim to have air-conditioning, they announced when I called down that they would not turn it on as the weather was cool outside. With the windows open all I heard were the transportation and people and could smell cigarettes wafting up from downstairs.

The location was very good and conveniently located near the Zürich HB (main train station) and the Bahnhofstrasse (lovely shopping district). The staff were professional, well-organized, and friendly. The room was fairly spacious and the bed and bedding were neat and comfortable, although it could use a bit of upgrading. The breakfast was excellent and had all of the elements of a good Swiss breakfast (proper cheeses, breads, etc.).

I was really disappointed with my stay. The room looked nothing like the pictures online. it was the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in. The bathroom was so tiny that it only fit one person at the time.

The property itself felt outdated and had a strong smell, likely from the carpets.

The location was great, but unfortunately, the experience was made worse by the hot weather in early September and the fact that the AC was not working. I was told it only operates during summer, which was very frustrating. At $450 per night, this hotel was definitely not worth the price.

I liked the location and the staff was friendly. The first room they gave me was nice. Big bed, walk in shower, nice colors. However, the AC didn’t work in that room, and it was 85 degrees outside. I asked if they had another room, because this one was unbearable. They switched me to the only room that was available, which was very small, sort of depressing due to the color scheme, had a tub shower, and an old mattress and pillows that had no support. I woke up everyday with a stiff neck and back. But the AC worked, so at least I wasn’t sweating like I just ran a marathon. For what I paid for the four night stay, it definitely was not worth it.

It’s the perfect location to walk and see everywhere and everything I would stay here everytime I come . I would have given 5 stars but the room fridge is not cold at all and the A/ C doesn’t really cool the room down much at all . The beds are hard which for my back was great , loved the pillows , nice size room

The shower leaked terribly. I stayed a week. I asked the staff to repair it. They did not. Also there is no a/c. I slept with my window open and it was fine. But I really couldn’t use the room comfortably in the afternoon as the windows faced west.

This hotel gets 5/5 for location. It’s so convenient for any visitor to Zurich (1 min from Zurich HB (the main train station), 8-10 mins from the Aldstadt (old town). It’s brilliant for location and convenience, staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. The only reason I would rate this hotel 4/5 is because the air conditioning didn’t work. They brought me a fan and I had to leave my window open which was fine to lower the temperature but then I got street noise. I was in a room on the 1st floor. Apart from this, great value for money and most importantly the location is super convenient for sightseeing, training to near by other cities and countries as well as for walking to the old town.

This hotel is just in front of the main HB station and surrounded by shops and restaurants. It’s easily accessible and tons of dining options around… our room was little outdated but was very quiet and had all the necessary items. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. For CHF 470 the room was match box size, the hotel hasnt been renovated for many years… no value at all.
The receptionist was good but on his own, for the price charged and crappy room they need to have many more staff who can assist faster.
I won’t stay here again for sure unless renovated.
In any other city I wouldn’t have needed to pay a CHF150 for the match box room.

We chose this because of its location one block from the train station. Lovely hotel, and will be better soon as they are in the middle of remodeling the rooms, but that wasn't an issue as it was very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

The pictures from Expedia make it seem like a lovely 4 star hotel. When we walked into the lobby, we were in shock. The decor, furniture, just bout everything was dated. Going to our junior suite, the furniture was old and small, carpets terrible, bathroom old. There was a smell of mold or staleness in the air. Luckily we only stayed one night and just slept there, but would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Much better ones available near the train station and for far less.

this was one of the most disgraceful hotels i have stayed in many years - old, poor quality, in desperate need of upgrade - and some of front desk people absolutely incompetent to be in the position they are (although some others are, thank you to the Italian and the Portuguese staff. Upon checking in and getting to the room in a very small elevator, i realized there was trash left in one of th glasses of the bathroom, took a picture and brought it down to reception, complaining the room was not clean, ti which she replied \" that is because we found out you've been eating chocolates\". - i lost it, felt incredibly insulted, asked for the manager - they said he was on vacation and there was no one to complain about it. I proceeded back to the room, to take a shower - the bathroom flooded immediately and very severely - i opened the door and asked for help - a lady came to help contain the water, and told be the drain was not working, that i would need another room, and that the situation was well known.
in other words, an old hotel falling apart, severely overprices, and staff that insult clients when their bosses gto on vacation. Please do not stay at the St Gottardt it is at best a 2 star hotel not a 4 star hotel - i will have to submit a complaint to expedia for misrepresenting the quality of the hotels advertised. This one is a DISGRACE

The location is super convenient. It’s a block from the train station, and there is a tram stop right outside. It is also centrally located and within easy walking distance of the National Museum, old town area, and lots of shops. It was the perfect location for our trip and pretty ideal if you want to stay in the center of town.

The room was very spacious, almost too much so. The bathroom was also large with a double sink and lots of counter space, which was nice. It had both a bath and a shower, but the shower was very cramped. There was barely room to turn around in it. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and they had live music most evenings. I would definitely stay here again!
