Really cool hotel about 10 minute walk from Zurich Hauptbahnhof so a convenient location for central Zurich. Really interesting art througout the hotel including in our room. The staff facilitated a late check out for us. But the highlight was the excellent service at the breakfast in the attached bar/restaurant. Really friendly and helpful staff overall. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Zurich.

The hotel's location is also fantastic. You are at an 8mins walking distance to Zurich Main station and there's literally an S-bahn station at the hotel's door step. You are also in convenient walking distance to everything central in Zurich and you have a fantasticly clean 50m public swimming pool (Hallenbad) about 3mins by foot from the hotel.
Internal sounds at the hotel are however a major problem. You will hear everything in neighbouring rooms, hallways etc. External sounds like trams will both be heard and felt.
Stomping guest will wake you up even if sleeping with earplugs as your room will shiver.
I was originally given a room facing the street but after complaining and pointing out that rooms are sold as \"soundproofed\" on hotels.com, i was given a smaller (but cosy) room at the riverside of the hotel. No difference in sound except you feel the trams less.
I'm not sure about the rooms interior design and it was a little bit dented but at an acceptable level. Cleanliness was good but not spotless to deserve 5/5.

The vip access included a bottle of prosecco and the lobby staff was incredibly nice. During this trip i visited 4 countries in EU and this hotel was hands down the best. I will be going back.

Room was clean and view was good. Tiny space! Shower water temp fluctuating between scalding and freezing the whole time. No real AC, just a room unit requiring you to leave the windows open. Pillows were tiny too. Shower wouldn’t drain. All in all it was clean and safe with good wifi and a convenient location. Glad it was only one night.

It’s a good property except of 1 thing for me which is the portable air conditioning as it was so loud. I was told that the built in ac isn’t working because the building is old. We had to turn that machine off before sleeping because of the noise.

The attic suite is really top notch. Felt like staying in a city apartment; stylish and functional. Nice sitting area and efficiency kitchen, which was great for the night we brought take out back to the hotel. We brought our dog with us and this hotel is always welcoming of our pet.
The bathroom could use some maintenance, but this is a minor complaint. The property is situated in a very walkable area and there are lots of entertainment and eating options. The main train station is a walkable distance from the hotel.
When interacting with property staff you can be as ‘noticed’ or ‘unseen’ as you like. We saw that as a plus. Only real minus is the Expedia VIP perk; they give one pass for the onsite breakfast and as we are a couple this doesn’t really end up as a perk when you have to pay out of pocket for one of the meals. The bathroom could use some maintenance, but this is a minor complaint. The property is situated in a very walkable area and there are lots of entertainment and eating options. The main train station is a walkable distance from the hotel.
When interacting with property staff you can be as ‘noticed’ or ‘unseen’ as you like. We saw that as a plus. Only real minus is the Expedia VIP perk; they give one pass for the onsite breakfast and as we are a couple this doesn’t really end up as a perk when you have to pay out of pocket for one of the meals. Beautifuly decorated attic suite we stayed it. It was quite roomy for the 3 of us and very comfortable. The hotel is about an 8 min walk to Zurich HB station and has lots of places nearby for a quick bite. We had the continental breakfast one morning and it wasn’t the best for kids so we skipped it after that. We would return to this hotel on our next trip for sure!!

Front door could use a new coat of paint…and since that is the first thing you see when we arriving, and first impressions mean something, it would be nice if those kind of maintenance items were taken care of; same goes for the mildew found on the shower ceiling and tiles in our room. Overall we love this place and have stayed a few times and are happy to call the Helvetia home when we are in Zurich. But, the property does need some attention.

This was a lovely, unique place to stay while in Zurich. I loved the art flare about it and how quaint it is. It is very convenient to the trains and walkable to Zurich's main downtown area. There is also a grocery store very close. The hotel is on a busy intersection, which creates a lot of street noise until about 10pm, but the windows muffle the noise well. I will definitely return.

Walking distance to the station Zurich HB. Hotel is clean and has lift to help load up our heavy luggage up to the 5th floor. Our room is a family room. It’s spacious. Converted a sofa bed into a queen size bed for our teen son. Has kitchenette and small dining area if you feel like eating at home. Hotel has a restaurant but we didn’t dine there. Offers 1 free breakfast for each room. Can request to store luggage if checking out early to roam the city and collect before 5pm. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend!

Central location within walking distance of all the clean, safe Zurich sites. Some crazies shouting around the hotel when we arrived, but the staff were exceptional, the room spacious, the floors heated. Thick twice before you upgrade for the breakfast \"buffet.\" There is no value other than to sit in the extremely cool restaurant. A great stay for a good price. For three nights, a bargain.

Our stay here was wonderful! We requested an early check-in ahead of time and they were able to accommodate our request, which we greatly appreciated so that we could nap after our long flight in. The room, although a little smaller than we're used to being from the US, was clean and well set-up with a little balcony for us to enjoy. The staff was very responsive and helpful with all questions and requests. We also loved that the location was walking distance to Old Town, where we loved exploring the area for it's beautiful buildings and restaurants. It's also only a 10min walk to the main train station if you're planning to check out several cities while staying in Switzerland. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay here again :)

The property is right in the middle of everything, which is what we were looking for. It also meant the area was quite busy. and a bit of a walk from walking. It did have a portable AC windows unit, but you have to decide if you want to hear the outside noise or have AC. Overall a very nice hotel with multiple views of the river.

The hotel is in a great location. Walking distance from the train station, old town, food, etc. We didn’t eat at the restaurant/bar as it was closed for a wedding, but it looked beautiful. The room was great with big windows, great shower, comfortable bed and was spacious for a European room. The cons are that there is no safe or full sized mirror. Since we stayed on a Saturday night there was lots of loud music from a nearby club until late in the night. Had to use noise cancelling earbuds. We did like staying there and would consider staying again if in Zurich.
