Despite reserving months in advance, when we checked in late at night after a long trans-Atlantic journey, we were placed in a room adjacent to one undergoing heavy construction, with constant drilling noise throughout the day. The hallway was covered in construction paper. We weren't warned of this when we checked in, we were just told that our water would be shut off one night. This certainly wasn't what we expected from a highly rated and expensive hotel.

EVERYTHING about this hotel is great!!!! Outstanding service, outstanding amenities, outstanding location….its right across the street from the main rail station, and the main shopping district (with just about any designer brand you can think of) starts just outside the hotel and runs for 3-4 blocks. I would 100 percent stay there again!!!

We really enjoyed staying here. We were able to check in early after a really long flight. Everyone was friendly. We spent a lot of time in the bar and loved Ronnie the bartender. The food was good especially the gnocchi soup. Our view was great and despite it being like really busy outside we didn’t hear any of it. Our room was lovely as well

This was our first stop on our honeymoon after a long day of travel; the front desk staff were exceedingly attentive and friendly. The hotel upgraded us and the room was charming - they provided prosecco and chocolates with fresh fruit, and the concierge helped get us reservations at a nearby restaurant a wedding guest had recommended (despite it being booked out). It’s been a great experience all around.

The hotels location is extremely convenient if this is your first time visiting. It was a two minute walk from the main station (you’ll see the sign as soon as you walk out towards the Main Street). It’s very centrally located. The rooms are clean and the valet very helpful.The restaurant was also quite nice.

Quite a nice property across the street from the train station. The staff were wonderful. The room was too high tech - way too many buttons it got frustrating at times. Also the air conditioning wasn’t all that great. But overall a great place. I’d stay there again for sure.

The Schweizerhof is a grand old hotel with lots of elegant extra touches, like fresh fruit in the room and exceptionally attentive staff. Our room showed signs of recent renovation, with modern lights and light switches, and beautifully fresh and clean walls/furniture. The desk had outlets for four different types of plugs (UK, Europe, US, Swiss), very handy for international travelers. The only issue was that the tub drain was very slow, the only sign that this is an old hotel building.

Lovely visiting the Christmas Markets in Zürich.

We had a very nice stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we asked advice etc. We used the hotel bar most nights of our stay and also had a lovely meal in the restaurant. The location was perfect for the railway station and a short walk into the main town areas.

Trip up the mountain to Utielberg from hotel a mus

Beautiful hotel on the corner of The Bahnhof strasse, opposite the railway station. Very central.
Amazing staff, especially in the cafe, we were greeted every time, by an amazing lady who remembered our breakfast order and room number.

The hotel is older and very crowded, a lot of tour groups stay here. The train can be heard at all hours, it is not a quiet place to stay. The staff is friendly and accommodating, however it is noisy.

This hotel is right in the heart of the Banhoffstrasse and across from the main train station. It is a very charming hotel with exceptionally friendly and knowledgable staff. The welcome drink is a very nice touch and our room had a fruit basket and chocolates to greet us. I would stay here again!

A lovely and stylish 1930s style hotel with modern amenities. Staff were all excellent, we particularly enjoyed the butler passing out free chocolate from his cart. Easy access to the train station and thus serves as an excellent springboard for site seeing. The restaurant was also excellent. It has a posh atmosphere and serves great tasting food for great prices.

I had a wonderful stay! The single room with twin bed was a comfortable size, and the twin bed was larger than expected. The room was well insulated, and I did not hear the other guests or the street noise. The hotel does cater to an older crowd, but the staff was friendly and attentive. It was a convenient location to travel around Switzerland and Zurich and very walkable to cafes and restaurants. I felt safe at the hotel as a single woman traveling on my own. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. They made our 30th anniversary a most special occasion with an upgrade and lovely rose petals throughout our room along with other delights. The chocolatier was a wonderful treat every night. The staff anticipated every need and always exceeded expectations. The location is perfect and the amenities were five star.
