The staff was very friendly but the room itself was fine. The shower did not work at all, limiting us to only a bath and the bed and pillows were terrible. The perk of this place is the great proximity to the train station and old towne.

The room itself was not well lit and the pillows were flat. Because we were there in December we didn't have to worry about the a/c.but it was still warm

The location of the Swiss Chocolate Hotel was great, just a 5 to 10 minute walk from the train station. The Polybahn (funicular that takes you up the hill with views overlooking the city) was just a two minute walk around the corner. There are many restaurants and shops throughout the old town. The friendly hotel staff provided us with excellent restaurant suggestions. Our room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Incredibly close to the Zurich HB train station, so getting in from the Zurich airport was so easy. We had our luggage held while we walked through old town and found something to eat. Housekeeping staff was phenomenal and we were able to check in a little earlier and got to grab a couple of hours of sleep before we ventured out again!! We would definitely stay here again.

We recently stayed at Swiss chocolate hotel for four nights. The property itself is beautiful, the location is fantastic, and the staff at the front desk were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The amenities were great, and we really appreciated the overall ambiance of the hotel.

However, one aspect of our stay that left us disappointed was the housekeeping service. Unfortunately, during the entire four days we were there, our room was not properly cleaned. While the bed was made daily, the sheets were never changed, and no full cleaning was done. Basic services such as refreshing towels, vacuuming, or replenishing toiletries were also noticeably lacking.

We understand that things can occasionally be overlooked, but for a hotel of this standard, we expected more consistent attention to cleanliness. It impacted our overall comfort and experience.

That said, with some improvements to housekeeping and attention to guest room maintenance, this hotel could easily be a top-tier choice. We hope to see positive changes in the future, as the potential is definitely there.

Overall a few comments, they need to replace the mattress ASAP (at least the one in our room stains were too big to keep the mattress from my point of view..) the room needs to be vacuumed ours it wasn’t, if you are tall forget about the bathroom if you sit in the toilet your knees are inside the shower it is very tiny, they also need to offer more than one pillow, more lighting in the room. For the price it’s ok just some inconveniences that can be easily addressed. Location was really close to the train station and made moving around easy, and points for them having umbrellas available since it was raining.

Great location near the main train station. Lots of restaurants and shopping very near by. A/C was not working properly and our room was very hot. They gave us a small fan but it was a long sweaty night. If we were staying more than two nights we surely would have left. We stayed in this same hotel last year at this time and the AC situation was the same. We had hoped they would have fixed it by now, but it was the same. I would inquire about this before making a reservation as Europe has been getting hit by heat waves and a stay here doing one of those will make for a very uncomfortable stay.

I've stayed in this hotel many times before but this was the first time during summer. Even though the hotel says it has A/C in the rooms, it was a proper nightmare. It felt like it was inside a sauna, boiling! They run out of fans so my only choice was to open the windows and even though I was on the 4th floor, there was a bar under my window that was really loud. Even after hours, there was a lot of noise from construction. They also provide a mini bar in the room but it is so bad that it doesn't even cool down a bottle of water. They give a lot of excuses to why the A/C and mini bar are not great but it sounds like a lot of rubbish as they have proper A/C in the reception area. I'm never coming back during summer as they cannot provide a good service for the price they charge.

It was a reasonably priced, clean hotel in a very convenient location. Some reviews mentioned the air conditioning didn’t work well but it was definitely cool enough in our room and the weather was very warm during our stay. The rooms were pretty small though like a lot of European hotels.

The room was very tiny. It was supposed to be a business room, but you could pull the chair away from the desk and sit on it as the bed is so close. The desk is so narrow that the laptop doesn't fit on it. No Aircon, the fan hardly works. The bathroom is so small your feet are in the shower when you are on the toilet.

We had a one night stay at the Swiss Chocolate at it was lovely. Such a fun quirky hotel, with an ample supply of chocolate in the fountain. My room was a single room with a lofted layout, which i needed to be careful at night during any descents to the bathroom. The room was very clean and had the amenities i needed to be comfortable.

If you are looking to be where young and hip folks are and where different eateries are, this is the place for you! The vibe of the hotel is very cool and I liked that there was a reasonable priced breakfast available in the morning. Zurich is expensive, but this cute hotel is not--big thanks!

The welcome I got at the Reception was particularly exceptional. Stayed there the second time, and discovered that it used to be a cinema theatre! The hall's still there, being used as the luggage storage...
Great place and the chocolate fountain and the chocolate-themed design are special features :)

We were impressed with this newer property having good soundproofing with the windows and blackout curtains. The decor is charming and fun. The room we had was tight, no good place to layout our luggage. The feather pillows are not ideal. If we were staying longer I would have paid for an upgraded room with more space. The room temperature was fine for the chilly weather.

Good budget hotel.

It is a good budget friendly hotel in a great location near the Zurich HB, shops and restaurants. The bed was ok. The shower was the smallest i have ever used. I am 5'9\" , 175# and it was really tight. If i dropped the soap i couldn't pick it up, there was simply no room. I don't know if i was the lucky one or if the other rooms also have tiny showers.

It was pretty horrible!!! The reception area was so small a dthe elevator so small, my scooter wouldnot fit. I had tl stay at another hotel further from the train station. They also had steps to get i to reception. Not mentioned on the reservation and not good for disabled people.

No parking, no lobby, narrow check in desk with 8 people waiting. Paid for a superior room and we had an attic. Could not fully stand on one side of the bed otherwise you hit your head on the low ceiling. Beam for the attic across bed and desk area. Hit head. Do not understand how you can call this a \"superior\" room and charge an extra fee.

A little bit of a walk from the train station, and not quite in the center but it was still convenient for those who are able to walk. The concept of the hotel is pretty cool with their chocolate fountain in the front. The male receptionist was not so friendly or helpful but the girl, think her name was Meeri or something like that, was extremely nice, patient and helpful. The hotel was in pretty good condition, the room was small but comfortable.

This hotel does not have air conditioning. It has a cooling system that barely kept the room cool. We came in the summer and it was unbearable at night. On top of this two of the four rooms we reserved the cooling system did not work at all. The lobby and rooms were tiny with barely any space. Only good thing was the location. Very close to restaurants and metro.

I didn't know there was a visitor pass for tourists until I came to Lucern, and the hotel where I am staying just offered me this. Since i'm not paying taxes in Switzerland, i was given a ticket to have all transportation being covered for free! - Becausebof this im feeling a bit disappointed that I wasn't told by the staff at the hotel in Zurich. Also, i didnt like that every single night I stayed at the hotel my card was always deactivated, which it made me feel like an intruder every day. So every night I had to go to the reception to activate my card. Other that this, the hotel was clean, the decoration is great and also the location.

This hotel was terribly small and hot. Our room was less than 10 x 10. There was a full sized bed and maybe 10 inches space around it on three sides. There was literally no place to open or place a suitcase except on the bed. The shower/sink was so small you could barely open the shower door because you were hitting the sink. There wasn’t even room to turn around. The “chocolate fountain” in the lobby was a joke. The chocolate was gritty and the wafers to dip tasted like they had been sitting there since last year. The hotel lobby, halls, and rooms were blazing hot in September. DONT STAY HERE!

We stayed 3 nights in Zurich. The location is great, 5 mins walk from the rail station and the many highlights of the city. The check in was very friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable although slightly on the small side. The next day we enquired about the lake cruise and the receptionist (Catia?) was very helpful, always cheerful. We had a very pleasant stay, the chocolate fountain was a bonus :)

Hotel says they have air conditioning, but they do not allow you to control/ turn on. No air circulation when hot. Extremely noisy with windows open for air flow.

Employee at check-in was friendly and helpful. Other front desk employees were not and acted as though we were bothering them.
