Staff at Hotel Rössli were friendly and helpful, room was clean and to a very high standard. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, staff at breakfast were helpful. Very central location for old town, making it an excellent base for walking around. Would recommend this hotel if you're staying in Zurich.

Construction wake up call

The unexpected wake up call due to construction outside the hotel was annoying, not to mention the letter advising water would be turned off for 4 hours. Not necessarily the hotels fault but they had been in contact with me up to check in and this fact was left out, would have been nice to know ahead of time to make other arrangements.

The hotel location is fantastic with everything in walking distance and a decent breakfast buffet.
The Apartment room we booked was very spacious and great for the family.
Several downside though to be aware of. First the hotel is in a no car zone, so you have to park a half a mile away and schlep all your stuff there.
Then, the elevator goes only to the 3rd floor and that room is on the 4th.
Finally, the room has no AC. It was very hot when we were there, so it gets a bit uncomfortable. We opened all the windows and then you hear all the noise from everybody partying in old Zurich and it gets quite loud.

The front desk was not staffed when arrived to hotel around 11 am. This made check in a bit difficult. As well, there was no one there at check out. I wanted to use a different credit card to pay for our room vs. the card I used to reserve our room. With on staff there, this was not possible. Kind of a hassle.
The restaurant in the hotel had excellent food and a very friendly owner.

Our stay at Hotel Rossli was perfect, from the location to the room to the access to Zurich. Everyone was friendly and helpful. And the views from our rooftop terrace were spectacular. Thanks for everything, it made our trip that much more special.

Great location for sure. Pretty close walking distance to a lot of places in Zurich.
If you're coming from US, you might agree with what I say. If you're European, you're probably used to what im talking about. Everything else besides location is sub par for the price. Room is very very small, im one person and have barely any room to put my suitcase and move around.
It's on the street, and even though it's not a main street, apparently people don't sleep here during the week, so you can still hear people downstairs yelling and laughing and talking and it goes to past midnight sometimes.
Pillows are flat and thin, impossible to get a good night's sleep.
Walls are paper thin and I'm currently dealing with a very noisy person who won't put the volume down even after I asked.
No AC, which apparently you do need in October here. And opening the window is impossible because you can hear people outside.
Breakfast buffet is fine but very pricey.
So if you're a light sleeper in your late 30s or more, this won't work for you. If you're a college student who could sleep anywhere, you'll be fine.

no one help you check in after 8pm and the hotel signs are confusing because the main building actually called a different hotel names. it took a long time to figure things out yourself and you need to be able to have international phone plan or other phone plan to call the after hour number to try to get in the hotel.

A beautiful stay in Zurich!

This place was amazing! Traveling with friends, we booked the Junior Suite and it was perfect! Comfortable, spacious, clean- and the best part- we had a private rooftop terrace with incredible views!! Check in/ check out were super easy, and the included breakfast was really delicious. It’s located in a cute area and very walkable to everything. We would’ve stayed here longer if we could have. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!!

Great hotel in the old town. A little over a block to the main road along the river, or uphill to wander the streets of the old town. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was really nice and a nice big bathroom. The restaurant at the hotel looked good and next time I'll try it. Will definitely stay again.

The Hotel Rossli was a nice hotel, just not what was advertised on Hotel.com. Hotel.com lists under Main Amenities rooftop terrace and restaurant/bar. Restaurant/bar was closed and there is no roof top terrace. Parking is available at the Parkhaus Opera city parking location, about a ten minute walk to hotel. Be sure to bring ticket to desk and you will receive a discounted parking rate. Room was quite large, especially the bathroom and very, modern and clean. There is an elevator, very small for two people with one carry on piece or one person with checked bag. Room had a Dyson fan, but no AC and it was a little warm for sleeping. Staff was extremely friendly and location of hotel was convenient; near tram lines. This is a couples or maybe business trip hotel; not set-up for families.

Pros: great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, great bathtub. Good breakfast!
Cons: I stayed on the 6th floor, but the elevator only went to the 5th. Since I have a knee problem, that would have been nice to know ahead of time. The room also comes with a terrace - which is really a terrifying drop down set of stairs that lead you to a hatch in the ceiling you have to climb out of. Again, my knees did not love this. I specifically chose this room, the most expensive, because I wanted the terrace. After going up once, I didn’t feel comfortable to try it again.

Wonderful stay in the heart of Zurich. We booked the apartment which was huge and modern. . It felt like home away from home. The rooftop terrace was cool to enjoy in the morning. The hotel was walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Cosy Boutique Hotel in Zurich

Very comfortable room in a great location close to the lake in old town Zurich. Staff are very friendly and can help with any information or assistance you need. Plenty of shopping and restaurants are close at hand as is public transport. Food is available on site, restaurant for dinner, breakfast also available and a bar on the ground floor.

The hotel has no A/C and when you try to open the windows there's a restaurant next door. The key weights 5lbs!!! (it needs to be update and the weight removed...)
The location is awesome tho!

The location is superb! The breakfast was very nice! However, the hotel doesn’t have air conditioning in the rooms which made our stay almost unbearable during the heat wave in July! They provided some sort of fan which helped a bit and we were so happy to have it! Also, be aware that although this hotel is on a quiet small street, in the pedestrian part of the town, the morning noise coming from workers, trash removal and similar might wake you up early! So, if you’re planning to sleep out and have peace choose another hotel! However, it worked out fine with us this time!

We stayed in the apartment which had generous space for the 3 of us. I liked having a kitchen with refrigerator/freezer. The rooftop was very comfortable and pleasant in the evening. Being an older building, there was no air conditioning but the staff brought us an extra fan when we asked.

Terrific room, great breakfast spread and great location but be warned that because the location is right in the middle of everything the street below was very noisy late into the night but I was ok with earplugs.

Sara at the front desk was a great help. Since out flight was leaving early she even packed yogurts and drinks for us the night before and told us the fresh bread is delivered early so we could pick it up before our flight. Very friendly helpful staff.

Definitely the best hotel in the old town

Just 2 to 3 stops by tram from Zurich HB... but I would always love to take a walk, not to miss any interesting shops in old town

Cozy room with lovely decor, and the most exciting part of all, there's a secret staircase leading us to the rooftop terrace for a 360 degree view of Zurich

Staff and location was excellent. Close to old town and easily walkable for most of Zurich and very close to tram stations as well. Rooms were very spacious by European standards. Only thing that I wasn’t fond of was the street noise at night but I believe if you are staying anywhere near old town you’re going to encounter that. There are so many restaurants and cafes throughout the streets that it’s unavoidable.

Nice hotel- great location for sightseeing in the city and for NYE events- close but not too loud with people all over. Good breakfast. Parking is arranged at a public lot a few blocks away and there is a nightly charge.

My room was very neat, small but unfortunately I couldnt sleep too well due to the noise from the street . I was on the fifth floor and my room was facing the street.
I don't think I'll be back to this hotel since my trips to Zurich are always for business and I need to quiet nights!

We stayed in the Junior Suite here, and it was amazing! It had a very spacious room/bathroom and a private rooftop terrace with beautiful views of the city, the lake, and the mountains! The people working here were very welcoming and helpful, the hotel/room was always clean, and the breakfast was delicious. The only thing that could make this hotel any better would be air conditioning, but the nights were cool enough with the nice Dyson fan they provided that we did not miss it that much. I would definitely stay in this amazing, historical hotel again!

We had a room at the attic, facing west. The room was so hot, like an oven when we got back around 8:00pm.
There are 2 bars opposite our hotel room and it was extremely noisy at night. People drinking and shouting even up to 2 o’clock in the morning.
Other than these 2 problems, this is a very comfortable hotel with very friendly staff.

Enjoyable Visit to Zurich

Another lovely stay at a favourite hotel of mine. As always lived up to the expectations I have come to expect. Clean, bright, comfortable and ideally situated to enjoy central Zurich. The one thing that makes a hotel in my opinion is the staff and here they really excel and make guests feel welcome.

Authentic location

This hotel is in two buildings in the very old part of Zurich which is great for getting an authentic experience. You can look out the window at the main church and walk cobblestone streets to restaurants and shopping which is just charming, The staff was friendly. Be aware that there is no air conditioning and Zurich in the summer can get pretty darn hot. Because the buildings are so close together, it is hard to get a breeze and were were pretty uncomfortable and where very distracted by the sounds/light that comes through the window at 4:30. We found breakfast to be pretty simple compared to what we experienced at other hotels and were disappointed in the fruit and types of rolls that were offered. The room was nicely set up and spacious, but the floor was pretty dirty and when I walked barefoot I could feel peddles, dust (luckily they provided slippers : ) This was the best price for the star level I could find in this area, but I might spend a little more for aircon in the same area if possible. Parking is quite a hike from the hotel and challenging on the cobblestones. I would suggest only for light travelers (which we weren't).
