I booked this place because of high review score and positive reviews, the staff are all VERY nice, hotel is in a perfect location. BUT, I didn’t realize this was more of a converted house than a hotel. You are given an actual key on a keychain for door entry. This could be a problem if multiple people need access to the room at different times, and its not as small/convenient as a key card. The walls are THIN! Some guests on the floor above us were loud, stomping, and doing acrobatics late at night and early in the morning. It was loud enough to keep you awake and/or wake you up. I actually complained and felt a little brushed off when the lady at the front desk told me the building is old, floor is thin, and tried to convince me the guests weren’t doing extra. Just then another couple came down and reiterated the exact same story I gave.
Overall it was a nice stay, but personally, I would stay somewhere with more of an upscale hotel vibe next time. Especially for the cost.

A nice and cozy hotel in the heart of Zurich's old town, clean and well-maintained. Front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. They offered discounted parking voucher for the public parking nearby as we had to park our rental there for a full day. We arrived amid an awful heatwave in July and the hotel's air conditioning was broken/not responding. That was a big disappointment and we heard all other guests were complaining, but we asked for a fan so we could sleep the one night we stayed at the hotel.

Everyone in the hotel were super helpful and friendly. My flight was badly delayed so I was very late getting to the hotel but that wasn’t an issue.

Helmhaus Boutique Hotel is at the heart of Old Town Zurich by the World Famous Limmatquai. Very closed to everything you need to see around Zurich. Nearby there is a lot of small shops and across the River is the famous Bahnofstrasse also Zurich Hautbahnhoff or Central Station is within a walking distance.if not you can take the very efficient Suisse Tram nearby-Helmhaus Station. Or let your taxi takes you in front of the hotel lobby. Our Room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The bed is also super comfortable. There is a free coffee and hot drinks with pastries especially at night 24/7 actually. Breakfast is super good and a lot of healthy options, Dining Area is very clean. Staff were all very polite, friendly, attentive and accomodating, shout out to Eugene, Nilda and Catherina and all the rest of the staff. Shampoos and Toilet amenities were also excellent and looks like a high end brands. There is also a mini bar and.keetle to boil water for your coffee and tea. Very excellent Hotel in Zurich. We highly recommend to everyone who needs a great hotel for the price when visiting Zurich.

We stayed 2 nights in family room which ended up being 2 bed/2ba. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of space. Area around hotel is great, easy access to historic sites, dining, art galleries and shopping. We walked from Train station at about 9pm with kids and felt safe.The walk along the river is very nice.

The hotel was meticulously clean and located in the best possible location in Old Town Zurich. Close to everything in a safe area with only 10 minute walk to Lake Zurich. The rooms were a bit on the smaller size but the decor and comfort on the beds were excellent. Lovely property that was right in the middle of the most touristy area of town, walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Checkin and checkout were a breeze. The rooms were family style with 2 separate hotel rooms and an adjoining small foyer. It was a great solution to traveling with our 2 kids. We actually would have had enough space for 5 with the extra bed they set up and the 2 queen beds. The breakfast was amazing and we were treated so nicely by the attendant. Would most definitely repeat of we returned.

Hi, the lobby and the lobby bathroom is very small so it is a bit inconvenient to change clothes if you are coming directly from your flight prior to check-in. We liked everything the Boutique Helmhaus Hotel has to offer, from the exceptionally warm reception of the staff to the delicious breakfast buffet to the convenience of the location (to tram and trains, and to various sites along the Limmat River, enabling us to see as much of Zurich Old Town as possible in less than a day). The location and cleanliness could not have been better. The room truly was immaculate and we were steps away from some of the more sought after historic buildings. Being close to the water was also a plus as we enjoyed strolling along it in the evening enjoying the beauty of the lights and the accordion player. As a runner I appreciated being close to sidewalks that led me to the river’s edge. Water pressure in the shower was great. Lighting in the bathroom was good. The bed comforter was very nice. Staff loaned us an outlet converter for our electronics, since the one I purchased before journeying abroad did not work. There was no fee for this. Staff was friendly and helpful in assisting us in purchasing tram tickets ahead of time. It was quite convenient to have a tram stop a few hundred feet or left from the front door. The breakfast was very nice and included hot and cold items. Coffee and tea service was around the clock and wine was available around the click on an honor system. These items were not offered in the room itself, which did not bother us in the slightest. Lovely boutique hotel.

There were a couple of nights we didn’t feel like going out to eat because we were tired from walking, traveling, activities, etc. and eating at the hotel would have been nice. We don’t like eating dinner in our room (room service). And we never knew when we would return from exploring so staying in and eating at hotel would have been perfect. We were told the restaurant was full and that we needed to make reservations. Other than that, I would highly recommend this property and I would stay here again.
