There were tiny bugs in the room. There was no kitchen, it was a closet equipped with kitchen items, located in the bedroom. The small room is supposed to be for two people but there is only one chair. We weren’t able to use the television without paying extra for it. Because our VRBO host refused us at his door, we booked this aparthotel out of desperation, we booked through Expedia. Our VRBO rental included a full kitchen, living space with free use of the television and free parking. Originally our Appart City Confort bill did not include parking, so we made that separately from our original invoice. So far Expedia has refused to reimburse us because it was not on our original hotel invoice. This was a small hotel room with a stove top, few utensils, 2 plates, 2 cups and 2 glasses in a closet.

I’d stay here if I was a teenager backpacking

This was most definitely one of the worst places I have stayed in Lyon. The staff were rude, the condition of the rooms are basic at best. The cost of the accommodation is overpriced.

The best way to describe the accommodation was student accommodations.

This hotel was very conveniently located, but we did not feel safe exploring in the evening. The room was clean and there were multiple bus stops very close by. Also the park - Parc de la tete - is very close and a great place to spend the day with children. Just watch your belongings as we had personal property stolen while in the park.

This property was extremely good, unfortunately its location was a let down. Now normally I would accept as my responsibility when making the booking, but the link on Expedia pointed to a totally different hotel in the city. Event the hotel clerk was shocked when she tried it herself. So we had a hotel far out from where we wanted to be.

The staff are absolutely wonderful. Each morning while having breakfast at the ground floor restaurant the staff were always cleaning up, replenishing supplies, and always presenting smiles, and helping out people. The same calls also for the people at the front desk. They were incredibly helpful assisting with finding an ATM, a laundromat, and a shop selling small food items. When I needed something from my room or Taxi, they were happy to help and quickly responding. They were always pleasant to talk with.

Avoid thos place!

There was no air conditioning in the rooms. When I realized and asked the front desk they were very rude and insisted it was my fault for not knowing. I needed to change hotels - the temperature over the next few days was >30C. They refused to refund the remaining nights. I left and contacted Hotels.com and they were able to get my refund. Air will be out for quite some time. I would not go back simply because of the way I was treated.

Stayed at Appart’ City Cite International for the Women’s World Cup week in Lyon. Upon arrival, we were under the impression that our hotel at A/C. Of course during the entire week stay and record breaking heat wave in France, our room did not have and air. It was miserably hot, and could barely sleep comfortably. After asking about the A/C situation, the receptionist became irritated and rude the duration of stay. She let us switch rooms but it was only to another room with no A/C. The lobby was the only place where there was any. We also were not aware that the hotel only allowed you one set of clean towels during the duration of your stay, unless you were there longer than 7 days! I will say that the rooms were rather clean at least. If everything was not fully booked due to the World Cup, we would have found somewhere else to stay. Luckily we were out and about 90% of our time in Lyon area. The biggest frustration besides the air was the rudeness from the day shift receptionist. No customer service etiquette what so ever. I would not stay at another Appart’City hotel after this experience.

Got to the hotel very late, check-in was simple and quick. The hotel itself is ok, looks more like an old office building than a hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful to us. Our room was huge, and I meant huge even by our US standards. It got a kitchen and everything.

Just a quick over night so don't know how the area is, etc. The only thing I know is it's right next to a highway, since early the next day we're back on the highway in 30 seconds.

Greeted as I walked through the door by friendly staff who helpful transport advice for my trip and also highlighted the relevant areas on a map. Room was fresh, new, light and clean. Throughout my stay all staff where helpful, especially at check in and check out. A good and plentiful breakfast rounded off a great visit.

Comfortable and convenient hotel

Spacious room with comfortable bed very convenient for the conference centre just across the river. Good breakfast buffet included in my booking in pleasant restaurant that served food in the evening too (although I didn’t eat dinner there). My only suggestion for improvement is I would prefer carpet rather than hard flooring. Would go back.

Great hotel, a little out of the way, but within a 40-50 min walk to old town. The apartment was spacious, clean and functional. The only 2 negative points are that the internet is extremely slow, and the sofa bed was not comfortable at all.

5 rooms booked, and when we turned up they told us 2 of rooms had been moved to another hotel.....8km away!!

Totally ruined our trip. Without that the hotel is in a useless location. Outside the city centre and no metro stop in the area.

Really nice hotel and good value. Unfortunately also a little penny pinching, for example tea and coffee making facilities did not include tea or coffee, Wi-Fi was not free but just over one euro per day, 5 euros per hour to check in early, would not give change for taxi.

Great find for a stop over!

Booked at the last minute as we were travelling back from Italy to the UK. Easy to find hotel just off the motorway. Great sized room and easily divided into 2. The food in the restaurant was excellent and our waiter (Stefan) was very attentive. Not all of the hotels in this chain have restaurants - so do check. The only downside was the fact that they have eco friendly lightbulbs and they take and age to light up, so you are literally in the dark! Also it was quite dark in the bathroom., but would not hesitate to recommend or to stay here again.

Hotel is nice, but receptionist was pretty bad, not really knowing anything about places to eat around (Where can I eat around? There is this restaurant. Is it open? I don't know. etc). It didn't help that during last day of our stay (1st), wifi was not working, because their provider gives them new passwords every month but something went wrong this time...

Perfect hotel

This hotel was perfect location for us. There is a bus right outside in the direction of town. Also a bakery, butchers and grocery shop a two minute walk away. We stayed for over 4 nights so didn't get daily room service but this was also perfect for us as we didn't need it and weren't worried what time they were coming. Bathroom was perfect as was the bedroom and the little kitchen was amazing. Everything you needed was there. This was very much an enjoyable holiday.

Clean apart/hotel in the close vicinity to Lyon, Casino shopping center and gas station 3min drive, good for 1-2 days stop while traveling by car. If you book right before the trip ask for towels at the reception during check-in. We booked for 4 people(family) but it was only one set of towels in the room. Did not know their 'towel policy'. Free internet is 1E charge for the passcode. Free parking in the street might be also a problem.

Family of 4 for 3 nights. We were in a 1 bedroom suite. Very clean and modern. However, very minimal services unless you pay the extra service charges. You have to take your own garbage out, buy your own dish soap and we had to buy our own toilet paper after a few days. Having said that, these were minor inconveniences. We had a dishwasher, cooking elements, fridge and dishes. Only a 10 minute walk to the congress centre and transit is close by. The street has a few fast food restaurants and small grocery stores. There is a fee for parking and Internet was 1.50 euros per day. Overall, quite a comfortable room and we were satisfied.

Close to the Congress Centre at Cite Internationale and bus service to Part Dieu station essetially drops you off at the hotel, so both very convenient. No service to the room during your stay (making bed, cleaning bathroom, emptying garbages). Wifi is 1 Euro per day.

Very frustrating stay

I was very disappointed with this hotel. I arrived late in the night only to find out that there were no more rooms available - my room has supposedly been given to someone who \"was not on the system\". Then they transferred me to a more distant hotel in the same chain (which was no longer within walking distance from my meeting place), taking precious time off my sleep. The icing on the cake was when I asked the receptionist in the other hotel to book me a taxi for the next morning, only to find out from his colleague in the morning that there is no booking whatsoever. She then tried booking me another one, which I have waited for for 20 minutes, only to be told no taxi is actually coming, so I was left to sort out the transport myself after wasting an enormous amount of time. Overall a very negative experience I have to say.

We were in Lyon for an International Congress. Hotel location was walking distance to the Conference Center and the bus was convenient. The room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable. We never could figure out the times of business for the local restaurants. The hours of service seemed to be arbitrary. There was however a small market nearby to buy food.

Watch out for hidden fees

Pros- close to bus line and staff spoke English.

Cons- Neither Hotels.com or the hotel were upfront about various fees. Neither on the website or upon checking in did the hotel notify us that there was no room cleaning (27€) or fresh towels (10€/per person). Would find these fees excessive but acceptable if notified of them before hand so we knew to conserve towels. The air conditioning also did not work, forcing us to sleep with windows open allowing bugs to enter.

Hotel location was perfect for our purpose and staff were very friendly and room very clean. The main drawback to the place is the daily charge for wifi and the extra default cleaning charge if you decide to use the kitchen in your room which I thought was a bit ridiculous.

Desk Staff Makes Mistakes; Does Not Rectify

Arrived after long flight. In the morn noticed the room did not look like the pics;I had prepaid for a junior suite;the room was a double. Spoke to front desk who admitted mistake; the hotel was full so could not be moved; told to see them the next day. I did;staff could not move me because the mgr had to approve; said I would be back Mon eve and would stay in the double if they would give breakfast buffet for my final 4 days. They had to ask the mgr. On Mon eve I asked the status and was told the mgr did not agree to free breakfast. (Stupid decision - the buffet cost less than the difference between double and junior suite). As I had stayed in the double room for 4 nights a refund was due for the room difference; was told I could not get one. I asked to speak to the mgr; he was out of the hotel. The next day he was also not available and never contacted me to talk to me. The front desk staff became rude and would not greet me when I walked past them. They put their heads down and pretended to be doing paperwork.I never got angry but they knew I was not pleased. I said I would not be staying for my last night and that they could have the room back. I checked out; room was available for other guests. I reminded them that I had prepaid for the room; refund due. I told them I was leaving due to their mistake,because they were rude and because the mgr was avoiding me. I told them I would use the power of the Internet to inform future guests about my experience. They did not care.

The double bed was comfortable but the room was surprisingly small. The closet was badly positioned so one had to reach in past the shelves to hang clothing. The hangars could not be removed from the closet pole, and were cheap and difficult to use. The lighting in the bathroom was not enough to put on make-up. (Although there was a low light above the mirror for night time use.) Towels were thin. No chair and no desk. There was a very narrow table that ran the length of the room underneath which were 2 plastic tabourets to sit on.No place to plug in devises near the table. There was a large lamp hanging from a hook with its cord bundled next to it. No idea why it was there. The hotel was full Saturday, and the breakfast workers were overwhelmed. They ran out of bread. Only one coffee maker. I would not return.

The hotel is located close to the bus line with easy access to downtown and the train station. It is a short bus ride to the local attractions like the beautiful park, the zoo, and nice restaurants. The bus is a convenient way to reach the train station (20 minute ride, 2 euros).

The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are comfortable. Our room had a mini kitchenette and a large bath tub. After walking around all day it was a wonderful retreat. I will say that food around the hotel is limited. There is a restaurant a few blocks away that is open to 11 pm and there is also a restaurant in the property.

Overall great stay, clean nice hotel. We would stay again.

I stayed here for 4 nights while attending a conference in Lyon. The rooms were spacious and spotless, and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The building appears to be very new. The conference centre is a 15 minute walk, part of which is over a busy bridge. There is a bus stop very close to the hotel which will take you to the conference centre ir in to town. I would certaily stay here again.

overall, a deal for the price

Good hotel, nice/clean, with the following minor caveats, if you care:
- away from city center (must take buses, of which there are plenty)
- restaurant closed Sat, Sunday! I expected to have a dinner; when asked jokingly are people dieting here Sat/Sun, they did not get it
- on a busy street, can be noisy
- There is a coffee/tea brewer in the rooms. When I asked for another bag of tea the second day, I was told that it was a welcome gift, and I can't have more. A 5 cent worth bag of Lipton! One will remember such stingy service (I'm a frequent traveler)
Overall, a good deal.

Nice, New Property

We stayed in a one bedroom suite (sofa bed in living room area) for 2 nights. This property appears to be brand new. The room was clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. There was a kitchen area with complimentary tea and coffee. We discovered the telephone and wifi in our room did not work. The front desk staff assigned us to a new room without a problem. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great

brand new apartments so now need to explain on that front. As well as the kitchen being stocked well with cooking equipment. Just on the outskirts of Lyon City Central with a bus stop out the front door of building which takes you into the centre in 10 min. Can't fault it as driving in Lyon is a nightmare!!!Secure car park is safe, convenient & fairly cheap compared to others in lyon.

Parking facile d'accès. Personnel très sympathique. En revanche pour dormir à quatre le canapé lit est dans la salle à manger, donc impossible de circuler. Pour manger à quatre, il y a très peu de place alors que l'appartement est grand mais mal agencé. La chambre pour deux est très grande inutilement.
Bonne literie. Appartement très propre. Bon rapport qualité prix.

Personnel courtois et chambre confortable.assiettes très sales, obligé de faire la vaisselle avant de s en servir. Miroir salle de bain installé pour personnes mesurant 2 m.
