At the time we stayed it was very good value. The only comment is that the room is almost perfect but needs a fair bit of engineering maintenance. Floors flood with water when showering and a few broken fittings and loose handles.

Cypress Lakes resort is brilliantly located. The room we were in was just a little dated and tired (especially the bathroom) but still fine and comfortable. Having two single beds put together for the bed was also just a little unexpected. But the one thing which brought the rating down to 4 rather than 5 was that when we put the airconditioner on we started sneezing. On checking the filter within the unit is was completely opaque with dust - so it hadn't been cleaned in a LONG time - potentially years. We mentioned this to front desk who said they were in the process of getting them cleaned - but for it to have been left this long between cleans was really not acceptable - it's an immediate health problem once the filter is left uncleaned for this long. So, overall really good, but this was a significant dropped ball on cleanliness.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom premier villa which was comfortable and clean. Very quiet and relaxing property with friendly staff.
The resort accommodation is very spread out. Be prepared to drive down to the main resort building if your villa is on the other side of the property. In saying that, you could walk it ( a bit of a hike) or they do have a shuttle type of sevice which we didn't use this time. We just found it easier just to drive down.
We had buffet breakfast which was fresh and nice, no complaints there 😋
We also had dinner at the bar and bistro. The food was quick and reasonably priced.

We have found it very peaceful and loved watching the kangaroos hop about the place. We have stayed here twice now and will definitely stay there again in the future.

Architecturally beautiful place. And love the natural surroundings. But it is unacceptable that what is advertised as a premium wellness retreat, does not have a sauna or steam room.

Mixed bag - stunning location but a bit disorganised.
Room wasn't ready when we arrived, we were only staying for one night meaning it shortened our stay even further and the check out is quite early at 10am. Were promised something to make up for the inconvenience but never received anything.
There was confusion when we initially arrived about which hotel we were in (as there are two on the same estate).
The adult only spa hotel was nice, peaceful and relaxing.The view from the room was stunning, with the added bonus of kangaroos outside our balcony at dawn. Breakfast buffet was a bit strange - turkey bacon... We ate dinner at the Bistro which was good value for money but chicken snitzel was undercooked - they gave us a refund.
Overall, we had a really nice stay in a stunning location, if a little disorganised.

The room was perfect I stayed for 2 nights as I attended a wedding at Redleaf. Very happy that I added breakfast to my package. I would recommend that they add bottle of water daily in the fridge for their guests.

Great location in the Hunter Valley. Very big area to get around (it is a golf resort after all). Other than that rooms are clean & spacious, plenty of leisure facilities (golf course, swimming pools, gym, health retreat next door) & restaurants. Bit disappointed in choice for ordering room service though; just pizzas & that’s it. Other than that, it’s a great place to stay. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes!

Large unit for great mid week price. Would be 10/10 with some attention to detail. TV cable box did not work. Tried all options and talked to front desk. She was helpful but I gave up and plugging in my laptop to the TV which worked fine. Pool maintenance person is really needed every morning. First 2 days the main pool was full of leaves. The next day it was cleaned up nice. The second pool was taken over by the ducks and duck poop deck so we went back to the main pool. Top step of stairs out of main pool deck is a few inches higher than the rest and had a few close calls. Overall staff were great and we really enjoyed our stay. Did not eat at restaurant or golf so cannot comment on those. Would definitely come back and stay again.

The facilities were rundown and poorly maintained. One pool was filthy with dirt and animal droppings. Rooms need a good deep clean as mold on curtains in rooms and bathroom.

This resort has great potential but falls short.

Room 790 wasn’t great. No art/decor in entire apartment, not enough cups/plates etc for 3 bed, cleanliness not terrible but not great (windows/window sills horribly dirty), no power points accessible for bed

Mainly booked for pools. Main pool was cloudy and dirty the entire time. Minimal chairs.
Lagoon pool was beautiful! But one wooden chair and some overgrown unkept grass to sit on.

Restaurant was good and lots of parking

I would have given property 5 stars. But a massive storm had come through and trees were down everywhere. The outdoor staff were working so hard to make sure safety first for guest and staff and than appearance. Huge task and was done very quickly. Thank you

We booked a twin room on Hotels.com but when we arrived at our room, it was one king bed. The twin bed information was not passed on to the hotel. However, the staff were so accommodating, with no fuss they brought the new room key to us and showed us to the new, upgraded accommodation (a 2 bedroom apartment) which made our stay very comfortable. Thank you Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort.

This stay was to mark the anniversary with my wife, however the cleanliness of the bathroom was 2nd rate.
The towels provided displayed mould and suspected bodily fluids.
The air conditioner in the lounge area did not work.

On check-out I raised these concerns with reception, I requested to be contacted by Management in regards to my concerns, however this has still not occurred.

Disappointed that this stay failed to meet minimum standards and expectations.

To our surprise we were set up in the Elysia side of Oaks Cypress but still spent a lot of time back and forth between both areas. The Oaks were more than happy to cater to us and were very friendly and helpful - the shuttle service is very handy.

Amazing place, we have stayed a few times and always love coming here.
We stayed at the adults only part which now has there own breakfast which is healthy and delicious.
Property around is great and amazing views.

We had some neighbors which decided to cook food in their room which brought out some undesirable smells and the staff were very quick to move us away and shut down the cooking.

A few minor issues but overall a reasonable stay at Cypress Lakes. Dishwasher didn't work, there were crockery items missing and the vibe of the \"premium\" villa certainly didn't love up to the expected standard.

Booking process was abysmal. Wotif far cheaper than direct booking. When i tried direct booking i was directed to a Philippine call centre that wanted to charge me $100 more per night than Wotif.
Breakfast was average, coffee from machine was atrocious.

The whole area where cabins were located was unique in itself. I took a party of 14 there only to find some of the rooms dirty and no eye to detail with cleaning. A unusable wardrobe due to the vacuum cleaner in one side and an ironing board and doona on the other side stopping the doors from even opening. The bathrooms doors were hard to manage. The unit was TIRED there really needs to be an upgrade on all the rooms we all stayed in. The reception area is beautiful and well appointed which is expected when you enter your personal accommodation.

The staff are warm, friendly and knowledgable about the local area.
The verandah is soooo peaceful with nature everywhere. Have to drive to reception n breakfast, but no hassles. The villas have the biggest bathroom ive ever seen, with a beautiful big bath to enjoy. Bed was so comfortable n villa was very clean. Get ready to get fit with the stairs.
Will definately stay again and highly recoomend this peaceful resort.

We had the 3 bedrooms family apartment and loved it. We have stayed here before. There is a lovely deck to sit out on in the mornings and have breakfast. The kids love the pool, basketball court and tennis court. The location is great because you can walk to the Hunter Valley Gardens in about 20 minutes or drive in 5 minutes. Stayed there for the Easter long weekend so there was more than an hour delay for check-in but we were given a drinks voucher. Will definitely stay here again. The apartments have everything you need to prepare meals.

CHECK BEFORE YOU BOOK! We booked and received confirmation on accommodation at Oaks Cypress Lakes, only to receive an email from their sister property Elysia Wellness 5 days before the trip advising they were excited for our stay. The room type we selected was NOT at Oaks but at the Elysia Resort - but this was not identified in any initial booking or accom confirmations. Both properties were nice but just be aware as they're two very different places.
