Hot & Sticky in Dusseldorf

Clean and tidy as to be expected, unfortunately we checked in just before the kitchen was closing, but upon checking the kitchen was already closed fore the 10pm cut off. So we went directly to the bar for refreshments, ordered food via the Uber eats app and finished eating around midnight.

Upon entering the room we found that the A/C was not working however as it was late and after a very long day (17 hours) we decided to put up with it, only to find the window was open.

Perhaps the cleaning stag should have checked the operation of the rooms A/C as a part of their final checks…

Reception advised and were fully supportive and advised that we should have advised them straight away as a further room would have been available, however as mentioned after such a long day out only thought was sleep…

Second visit to this hotel, it’s been refurbished the rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent, great stop off point for travelling back to the UK. Only small gripe is why shower curtains, hate them 😀. Super comfortable beds.

The refrigerator did not work in the room and the staff said that they work in some rooms and don't in others. The breakfast was so so. The staff were mixed, some friendly but not helpful. Also nothing nearby and public transportation too far. There was no water filter dispenser either. The hotel/room was clean and pretty comfortable.

Our hotel stay was so nice. The room was spacious & the beds were comfortable. Our room was clean & staff were all nice, friendly and helpful.
The full breakfast was excellent ! It was a great way to start our days of adventure!

We found a way to make the trip to Dusseldorf less expensive...walk to nearby Esso gas station & take tram #709 from Neuss into Dusseldorf for just 3.40 Euros versus 30 or more with Bolt app or a Taxi.
Would recommend this Hotel Inn in Neuss, Germany.

Stayed here for Euro 2024.
Hotel is well positioned between Neuss and Dusseldorf with the tram a 10 min walk away .
Hotel is fine although room has a fridge but not switched on , so no facility to keep any liquids cold - they do have a sign in fridge directing you to reception where you can purchase cold drinks !!- but same issue no where to keep it cold even if purchased form hotel .
You have a kettle and tea/coffee making facilites in your room but no milk???.
Overall room was fine

Unfortunately the hotel is far from any stars.
First and foremost stained toilet not good at all. Secondly, while the staff at the reception are mostly good, the “night manager” is so rude and you can tell he hates his job as he really doesn't care and you kind of get uncomfortable asking him for anything.
Wifi in the room is absolutely terrible so if you are need to internet better have your own.

Despite being a non smoking hotel, people smoke in the rooms which you can smell throughout the hallways, although the hotel say they will fine people for smoking, what good does it do if you as a non smoker get a headache all the time. Its like they tell people “you will be fined if you smoke” only to collect the fee and no actions at all.

Our last night being there, group of people with small children had come in and they were like 100 people, at least 50 kids were running in the driveway and lobby like a kindergarten and being so loud in the hallways, we called the front desk and probably the same night manager said “oh well we tried we tried and hang up”

Also what kind of hotel doesn't even have complementary water in the room????
We had to ask for a tooth brush every time, i have been in many hotels across many cities ans countries and this is my first experience of facing not having basics things in the room.

Oh by the way we even had upgraded our room to the suite 😩😩😩

First time visiting Dusseldorf and as ever you learn as you go. The welcome at the hotel was perfect. Very warm and caring. The room was great, large and extremely comfortable. Lovely lounge seating area, desk and huge bed. The shower was very high pressure and did the trick after long walks around Dusseldorf. Keep in mind this hotel, although quiet and in a very safe feeling area, is not in Dusseldorf centre. The handy 709 tram which was cheap and around a 5min walk from the hotel was how I got into the city centre. This wasn't a problem for me. But if you are looking to be in the heart of Dusseldorf, this is not it. But that aside, the hotel is an excellent standard and felt extremely comfortable and welcome throughout my 4 night stay.

For those arriving from cooler climates, you should note that the air conditioning is only standard in summer and in Germany they heat their buildings to 22-25c, so the rooms are very hot in the winter. We opened the windows normally but it was not enough and had to fully swing open both windows to try and cool the room down, but it was very noisy with lorrys going past, still very warm and letting rain in. I contacted reception after two insufferable nights and they were able to switch on the aircon remotely which made a huge difference to the room, but the hallways and restaurant are so warm we avoided eating there with the exception of one breakfast. This is a standard temperature across Germany, so expect shopping malls, shops etc to be the same.

The room itself was spacious, even with the sofa bed in use for three occupants. The area is generally quiet, parking for disabled is right outside the front door and free, there is also free street parking. The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast was nice, mostly continental with a couple of hot items. Breakfast was rather expensive per person at €25, luckily our children ate for free (2 per paying adult) meaning €50 for a family of 6. The other days we went to Lidls bakery nearby for breakfast at a fraction of the cost.

Three stars because of the room heat, fridge turned off so everything warm/melted due to heat, the shower constantly went between scalding and freezing, very dangerous and unpleasant at the least.

Great value. Crisp and clean bedsheets, clean hotel, high pressure shower (even on the 9th floor), and a nice breakfast. We paid 90 Euro for three people with breakfast - a steal for the area during that time due to the Lady Gaga concert. All other hotels in the same category were 50 to 100 Euros more.

Decent at good value price,some improvement needed

The staff are excellent, the hotel seems modern although personally I like some Carpet rather than just hard wood floors. My room was also near a fire door and it was noisy if people used it in the night. Room was generally clean including the sheets, but their was a grapevine under my bedside cabinet and the phone was unplugged and not working when plugged back into the socket.

Some floors were remodeled and others weren't, but I got a newly remodeled and decorated room that was quite nice. The facility is very well maintained and the staff is helpful and friendly. Underground parking was nice, easy and not crowded. The restaurant, for the hours it was open, is quite good too. I had a salad with chicken and mushrooms for dinner one night, and it was really delicious and maybe even a bit innovative. The only downsides were the painfully slow internet. OMG, really bad. And, the fact that it's in a business center with nothing much within walking distance. I walked about a mile to a shopping mall, and actually ate at a food court there twice.

I was really disappointed that bicycle rental in the area, in fact in all of Dusseldorf, was not available or user friendly. I tried to download a couple of apps for on-the-street rentals, and couldn't because I am an American. It was a three mile drive to the nearest bike rental place from the hotel and they also weren't really equipped for tourists. So, though there are some bike lanes, trails and paths, good luck finding a bike.

Hotel location is quiet. Property is surrounded by well maintained lawns, vegetation, and trees. Room was spacious and very clean, but mattress was on the soft side. Breakfast was excellent. Bar is well stocked and runs a 5-6 pm happy hour. Had a very enjoyable lunch in the garden at front of hotel. Reception and service in general were excellent. This hotel is a very good choice if traveling for business meetings with local companies in that part of Neuss. Across the street from Euromoda.

Stayed for one night, arrived late in the evening without any problems. Staff was very accommodating. The next day we drove to Paris and after checking into the hotel there we realized that we left my wife's $200 curling iron and a wireless mouse for my laptop in the hotel room in Neuss. I sent the hotel an email explaining what we had left in the room by mistake and that we would be back in Neuss on the following Friday. They replied with in an hour stating that they found our things and that the front desk has them for us when we return on Friday, which they did. Now that is service.

I was working in the area and stayed for two nights. Close to Micros and many of the other major businesses in the area. Hotel was absolutely \"fine\" for business, clean and tidy and did what it said on the tin. Not 4star or 5 Star by any means - IMHO it's a room for a night with breakfast and a bar. Seemed they didn't mind you racking up too late, as many of the hard working business people were (I didn't check in until around 1am). Doubt I'd take the wife or family as it was hardly a luxury hotel but just a room for the night - typical european business hotel.

IHG / Holiday Inn clearly dont bother looking at its franchise hotels. This should have been refurbished years ago and the state of it reflects poorly on the brand. I also cannot believe the owners dont have any basic wish to keep it remotely \"current\". Ok, it is clean and the bathroom was acceptable, but the rooms, corridors are just way too tired.

Well, the hotel was okay. Friendly staff, large rooms, the cleaning was quite sloppy, internet cost money (I find that very offensive), however, if you become a free reward member, internet is complementory. There's free parking outside and paid parking in the basement.
The area is pretty dull and there's practically nothing there. We didn't need the sorounding area for anything, but I would not recommend this hotel if you don't have a car available.

Very positive overall. Staff was very helpful and polite. You can only park in the underground garage, which cost 14 euros extra. Our entire floor was very warm, including our room, but apparently this is normal and cannot be regulated or changed in the room. However, the windows can be opened, so the temperature was ok for the night, but then some delivery trucks got quite noisy early in the morning, because the hotel is in a commercial district.

Journey break

We broke a journey from Munich to Calais by staying here in a three person family room. Drawbacks included the position of the child's bed - his face was in direct line with the bathroom light which had to be switched on as the ensuite had no window. The room was over 26C when we arrived at 9pm and the air conditioning was too noisy to leave on and sleep. An open window helped but it remained uncomfortable. The room rate we were quoted on the web site and booked said it included breakfast. The confirmation email also said it was included. On arrival we were told we would have to pay extra for the child's breakfast as he was over 13. We pointed out that we had been misled but the staff insisted we pay. Otherwise it was a clean, good sized room with excellent buffet. The location was near the main road from Cologne and easy to find. Good for a journey break but not a holiday location.

Very good hotel the only thing which let the hotel down was it's location and the fact the hotel poorly managed their business guests staying for the trade show. We stayed for a trade show which the hotel was fully aware as the price reflected this (all hotel prices increase for the Interpack week) Due to the location a taxi was the only real route to the show. I described the first morning there as taxi wars, with at one point up to 30 people waiting for a taxi. it took us 90 mins before we could leave. I strongly feel the hotel could have handled this better, some people were booking taxi's by their room number but then drivers just let anyone in. All it would have taken was someone from the hotel co-ordinating the taxi and queue or even better layed on a suttle bus to the venue. For the rest of the stay we basically had to wait until 10:30 am before leaving the hotel.

The hotel was just very basic with no gym and pretty terrible wifi (shouldn't be able to charge for it when it is that quality). Beds are very basic and the rooms very noisy due to other guests moving around. Staff were helpful enough though.

The hotel is OK. What is disappointing and very inconvenient is its location: in the middle of nowhere and a 30 minute taxi ride from the airport and from the fair ground. Nearest public transport a 20 minutes walk away. Restaurant and bar open during specific times only. Both are heavily overpriced although the breakfast is outstanding (EUR 19.00). Hotel does not offer luggage porter. Smoking allowed outdoors only. Otherwise a friendly and efficient place.

NOT a city hotel - its miles from town.

Good reception staff and a generous room size. Breakfast was Okay but once at the hotel there is very little to do as its in a technology park miles from anything. The only thing open in the area is a 24 hour garage but the staff there hate foreign visitors and scowled at us when we popped in to but some sweets for the kids. Beds were comfy but why is there no free wi-fi, surely it should be free as everyone uses it. Be warned 3G in Germany is hard to find.

Convenient - good standard

Just off the motorway but out of earshot, this is a good central location for access to Dusseldorf (4 Miles). The Hotel is located in the heart of an office park. There is a very comprehensive shopping mall within 5 minutes drive. When we arrived it was very hot and the air conditioning in both of our rooms struggled to make a difference. The staff are helpful but the breakfast is overpriced. There is a very nice café at the main junction that gives a good breakfast for about a quarter of the cost.

It si a bit old, but friendly staff

And it is close to Düsseldorf... it is from the 80s or so and could need a make over. Stillist is clean and the value is good to ok...

Not to the standard I would have expected

I have stayed at this hotel before and it has been OK. More recently I have stayed at the Ibis but wanted somewhere with good food & room service as I was going to be on my own. Room was freezing when I arrived - it ws snowing outside and the window was open. No heating available in the room - the aircon heating was locked off and the heaters didn't work. They had to give me a portable electric heater and only after the 3rd night did it actually feel warm. The shower did not stay a constant temperature so kept either going stone cold or scalded me. The food was over-priced and the 5,50 EUR fee for room service is ridiculous. The Holiday Inn really is just taking advantage of the businesses that send people to Neuss and seem willing to pay over the odds for mediocre service. I would recommend the Ibis just round the corner to anyone. It's half the price.

very happy i'v chosen this hotel, clean and specious room, very comfortable, all you need is there, will be back there again next year, we've spent there only 5 hours ( - but i was very satisfied with high quality of service
