My review for this hotel is neutral, not happy nor upset. The prices are good and the staff are friendly. Also it is clean. However, this hotel is rated 4-stars but diffenately it is not. It should be rated 3-stars. I did not try the food so I have no idea. The location is OK. The parking lot is too small (it was hard to get in and out) and slightly expensive (I paid €60 for 4 days) .
The room size is OK and it has A/C as well, but the remote control battery was dead and we had to wait to the next day to get new battery. In addition, the A/C was making a noise every 10 or 15 minutes and when I report this to the hotel reception they told me that they can't do anything about it!

Check in was quick and easy, and the receptionists were very helpful. We were in room 13 on the first floor at the front of the hotel overlooking the very busy, noisy main road but once the windows were closed it was perfectly quiet. The room is really big and the beds massive and very very comfortable. Air conditioning was very welcome. Great location, with tram stops and bus stop less than 2 minute walk away. Perfect.

Really pleased.

Nice hotel and a massive room - we stayed in the premium room which was reasonably priced. Super polite receptionist checked us in at 11.30pm when we arrived.
Another positive was the minibar in the room - beers were only €2.50 each which was great!
Only downsides were the distance from town - it was a good 40 minute walk into the town centre, or there is a tram stop about 20yds away which was €2.70 per journey each way.

Nice hotel for what you pay. Room very good with comfy bed. Breakfast excellent. Situated within easy reach of town centre with the tram stop only 50 yards away. The bar / restaurant on the corner is also very very good. All in all a very pleasant stay in a very pleasant city.

The staff at the reception were extremely helpful especially Angelica. WiFi in the room was great quality.
I think this hotel was a 4-star in 1980.
My Room (#37) was up three flights of stairs and with no lift was a struggle carrying the problem.
We Stayed 5 days at this hotel. All of 5 days, air conditioning not working & my room were very cold. Finally ask the electric-radiators from reception.
On the last night, the hot water fails & we must shower with cold water.

All was almost perfect but the AC didn’t work. I told the front desk; they replied they have this recurrent problem at certain periods in the year depending on the outside temperature.
Besides this, worth what you oat, a fair value.

I'm wondering how the star system works. This is by far NOT a 4 star hotel. Or it was a 4* in 1980. The rooms are very outdated, no real parking (quickly full and you have to drive for 20 minutes around to find a spot. At least the breakfast buffet is very nice and complete.

Hotel is close to a transport link that goes directly to the Hauptbahnhof, Tickets can be purchased on the tram by a machine on there. Hotel staff were helpful, polite and quick to check you in and help with anything, very organised. Hotel room was lovely and clean with beds made everyday and they left sweets everytime they came into the room. WiFi in the room was great quality. The TV in the room provided a wide variety of channels. The hotel also provides the option of breakfast. The hotel provides everything you need to enjoy your stay in the city!

Good Hotel for Short Stay

Clean room, comfortable bed, and good bathroom. Good price too.

Didn't eat there, as we ate out with friends we were visiting, but it look appealing on our way out.

Only negatives were the room was small, but suited us as we only used it for sleeping and bathroom, and traffic noise, but it's near the centre of a busy city, so not the hotel's fault.

Would happily recommend.

Hotel with Excellent location and connectivity

We were 3 persons on buisness trip and opted for tripple room. We reached hotel well before our check in time and the lady at the reception was kind enough to assist with early check in.
The room was quite spacious with 1 queen bed and 1 single bed. Bathroom was large enough. We didnt opt for breakfast so will not be able to comment.
Connectivity of this hotel to other places is very good. Tram stops are just few steps away. Tram line 704 takes you to dusseldorf main station hbf in 15-20 mins.
We had a pleasent stay, the only thing that could have been improved is if hotel could have provided free bottle of drinking water every day, which was expected from this grade of hotel.

Good stay but bad wifi

When I arrived at the hotel the entrance was locked and wasn't given instructions on how to get in, the staff at the front desk saw me but didn't come open the door or give me instructions on how to do so. There is a phone by the door that you need to pick up to get in but there are no signs telling you that and they didn't let me in for a few minutes. Otherwise staff was friendly. Room was good, small but all you need for a hotel. Everything was clean and bed was comfortable enough. The only really bad thing I have to say about this place is the wifi is bad, if you won't be needing it then the hotel is good. But because I needed to be using wifi while I was there it was quite frustrating. Half of the time it wouldn't even work even though it said I was connected. Public transit is just around the corner so easy to get wherever you need to go.

We had to move to three rooms to get the right one. We ordered a room with two beds and we were given a double bed. So we had to go to the desk to get another room. In the second room we found that the sink in the bathroom was plugged and so we moved to a third room. It was fine.

Great reasonable hotel with easy access to city

My Fiance and I stayed here for a city break last weekend. I would recommend if you just want somewhere not too expensive to stay in Dusseldorf and have yourself more spending money. Clean room and comfortable bed. Friendly staff from our experience, what you see is what you get kind of place. If you want a Radisson, Marriott etc, it is not that but we enjoyed our stay.

Old hotel with strange service

Not the best place to stay. Definitely not 4 star hotel. Very cold in the room during winter time. Housekeeper turn of the hitter during the day, when we were out. It's really not nice to come back to the hotel in the evening, after all day walk wile it was raining, and find out that you room is colder then outside.

I booked a stay at this hotel thinking it was going to be like all other hotels that we have stayed at. I was wrong! They gave us a beautiful clean apartment with a balcony. The bed was very soft and comfy. The only thing missing was complementary tea/coffee. There was also no wifi for the apartment. I didn't ask the front desk about it though, so it might be available in the apartment and we just didn't know about it. What a great stay, would for sure book here again!

If only there was a lift........

We had an apartment which was separate to the hotel but had its own facilities for everything we needed having a 2 year old (cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave). The apartment was up three flights of stairs and with no lift was a struggle (for me) carrying the problem however it didn't detract from a great stay in a lovely, well maintained place.

booked a double room to go to the Xmas markets

Booked a double room 2 months ago via Expedia to go to dusseldorf for the Xmas markets. On reaching the hotel and being allocated our room we found that it had 2 single beds not a double as requested and booked. Asked reception staff if we could have a double bed as we had requested and was told all the rooms in the hotel only had single beds. On talking to another couple who had only booked their room a couple of days earlier they actually had a double bed, so not too happy with this.
Hotel staff were quite helpful directing us into the town centre and the room itself was kept very clean.
The hotel is on the tram route 707 or 713, which take approx 10 minutes to get to the centre from the hotel, but it was a pleasant walk if the weather is nice.
Xmas markets were ok but I still think that the one in Manchester is a lot better.

Superb in every way

Stayed for one night on business trip. On my arrival,lady at reception greeted me with a smile.I was given a top floor attic room, which was clean, spacious, and had what looked like a brand new bathroom.I asked the lady at reception to recommend me a good fish restaurant,and had a wonderful meal in Fishaus, close to the river.Breakfast the following morning was exceptional. Would recommend this hotel to everyone, exceptional service and value

A excellent deal for any hotel. The location is fine, within walking distance, although a long walk to the the Altstadt. But only 10 minutes by tram (day ticket for 2 people works out very cheap). Trams run late too. A welcoming hotel, with very good insulation on the windows so there is next to no noise from the street. Do not let the location put you off.

Quiet and relaxing stay

Hotel Flora is a lovely little hotel located just away from the centre of Dusseldorf. My husband and I found it extremely comfortable and the staff were both cheerful and kind. Towels were changed daily and rooms were cleaned quite promptly. The space was larger than we both thought and homey to the point that sometimes I wanted to stay in bed more than I wanted to see the city; quite the accomplishment! Well done Hotel Flora, we will recommend you to everyone we know.

Great 3 nights in Dusseldorf

Arriving at the hotel at 11.45 we was told by hotels.com we could check in at 12 however to do this we had to pay extra as the hotels policy was check in at 2o'clock.
Apart from this misunderstanding the hotel is in a good location near a tram stop, by buying breakfast at the hotel all public transport was covered by a hotel travel ticket which was the best way to travel into central Dusseldorf.
Breakfast was a good choice and a good selection for the price and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Warm welcoming, clean room, booked double bed but had two single bed pushed together. asked for double bed but morning staff were not so helpful so ended up moving to room number 41, no safe in the new room and sometimes during the second day entry was made by an electronic key fob and £800 worth camera parts were stolen,, The police were called to record the incident. After the rubbery we never felt secure so we were moved to a different hotel by the hotel management... never heard from the hotel regarding to stolen items,,,
There was no dead luck on the door and there was also evidence of the previous entry. We cannot understand how an electronic system can have a duplicate fob, we would expect the code be change with each visitor.

It's just ok ,nothing special you got what you pay for , I arrived at 6,45 am and no one was available at the recaption desk because every one was sleeping ,and they complain because I came early ,and the most happy moment was when they gave me a room on the 5 th floor and they said sorry there is no elevator .so I have to carry 2 big luggage on a tiny steps to get there and on the checkout time it was the same thing ,in the end not worth it

A really pleasant surprise. Staff was very nice (even the cleaning staff), the room (and the rest of the hotel) was spotless.

My room, which was one of their \"regular\" rooms, was large and comfortable, as was the bathroom.

The hotel is 2-3 miles south of the city center in a residential area, but don't let the location deter you, as transport links are excellent. Don't expect, though, a bustling local nightlife or dramatic views.

The only minor complaint that I would offer is that the shower was a bit small, but then again, I'm pretty large.

Stay only for business, not for pleasure, as there is nothing nearby in terms of dining or attractions. Have nearby public transport. In another hotel, I had to reserve parking but they gave me one anyway, here I was told to \"park somewhere around here\" on the street. The room was like an apartment-turned-hotel kinda deal, with tenants on the other apartments, had no elevator (for my side of the building), and had no A/C, just a radiator on the windows.

Very pleased with the hotel, friendly hosts, nice rooms, comfy beds, calming view from the window. If you're into a calm place with not much traffic and noise, this is the place to be. You have also a few tram stations 1 minute walk away from the hotel, going everywhere all around Dusseldorf. And most importantly, affordable!! Have a nice stay.

Hotel Flora, Bilk - Dusseldorf

The hotel itself is very nice and clean. It was unfortunate that our room was on the 3 and a half floor! This mean getting the lift to the fifth floor, then walking down 4 flights of steps! Not directly accessible by lift and not advised either upon booking or upon arrival. Bad enough on a day to day basis but dreadful when lugging heavy cases to and from on arrival and departure.

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean - but we were quite shocked that when we asked for extra tea and coffee, there was an argument from reception and we were told that as we had 'already had our complimentary allowance' for that day, they refused to provide any more!

It is also very misleading that the hotel information states that they provide public transport tickets as part of the booking. This is not accurate!! They will only provide tram tickets IF YOU PAY FOR INCLUSIVE BREAKFAST. As we were visiting family and therefore arranging to have breafast with them in the town centre, we did not need to pay the additional 6-12 Euros per person, per day, for breakfast. Reception therefore refused to provide transport tickets. This can get expensive as the trams are not the easiet to figure out from the hotel (and reception is not the most helpful) and can cost about 2 Euros per person, per trip. This mounts up over a few days.

Overall, a nice hotel, but staff not very helpful and beware of askig for anything extra - they don't seem to be keen to go out of their way. Probably would not stay there again, purely because of silly things like being refused an extra few packs of coffee, and having to drag cases up and down flights of stairs to get to rooms.

Hotel Flora, Dusseldorf - good choice for visitors

The HOtel Flora is a good choice for those who do not necessarily need to be right in the heart of the city. Its a ten minute tram ride from the centre. A wonderful bonus is that the hotel provides a card which covers travel on tram, bus and S-train. The reception staff were very helpful in explaining the travel connections and gave us a warm welcome.
The hotel is modest, the decor is not uplifting but the room was large, comfortable and well stocked.
Choice of breakfasts, continental style or German style with cold meats etc. I would recommend the Flora to anyone wanting a reasonably priced comfortable hotel.

Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und die Betten recht bequem. Das Frühstücksbuffet hatte eine gute Auswahl und war nicht zu groß. Leider wurden unsere Handtücher jeden Tag gewechselt, obwohl wir sie nicht auf den Boden geworfen hatten. Wir konnten sie aber auch nicht an den Haken hängen, da es am Handtuch keinerlei Möglichkeit dafür gab.

Das Beste an der Sache, war der Abendportier!
Die Dusche bedarf einer kompletten Sanierung ( Schimmel an den Rändern und die Türen nicht mehr verschließbar. Der Kaffee beim Frühstück stand wohl schon sehr lange auf der Warmhalteplatte und hat dementsprechend geschmeckt.
Wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Straßenseite, was daher sehr laut war, da die Straße sehr frequentiert ist ( Autos und Straßenbahn) , deshalb werden wir dieses Hotel nicht mehr buchen. Wie die 4 Sterne erreicht wurden ist mir schleierhaft!

Arrivati per occupare la camera scopriamo che ci hanno messo in una struttura esterna non loro a 200 mt. di distanza dall'Hotel al 4° piano di un palazzo senza ascensore.
Il tutto senza averci avvisato pur avendo prenotato la stanza 5 mesi prima.
Inqualificabili!

Schönes, großes Zimmer mit gemütlicher Sitzgelegenheit (Sessel und Sofabank), zwei gute Matratzen, schönes Bad, sehr freundlicher Empfang, gutes Frühstück. Einziges Manko vielleicht: der etwas sehr mitgenommende Teppichboden (war aber sauber). Und wirklich dicke Personen würden nicht durch die Schiebetür der Dusche passen (gilt leider für vielen Hotels).

Väldigt mysigt och stort rum. Som en minilägenhet (utan kök). Läget var bra. Lätt att åka med ”tunnel-tåg” ca 20 min till AlterStadt. Perfekt för oss på genomresa att stanna över natten.
