There was so much confusion with payment. On the booking it said on the day we arrive we can pay in cash and we had selected that option but a few days before the day we would be checking in we were told to pay only on card or our booking could be cancelled. I paid on card and all the money was taken from my account but when we checked out they wanted our card details again for the full price, it was confusing and it wasn’t very clear on why but we are now worried we will be charged the same amount again. Additionally, would not recommend for light sleepers, i was woken up by the people next door snoring and could also hear their alarms go off. Apart from that it was nice and the staff were friendly, the room was nice but it’s a shame with the money and sleep situation, made the experience stressful at times.

Solo woman traveler here. Felt very safe. Loved the convenience and options of breakfast every morning. The garden is lovely and wished I had spent more time there. The room was nothing fancy, but my time there was great. Thankfully nobody was staying next door to my room because the last night I was there I could hear furniture moving, loud conversations bc the walls were paper thin. Thankfully I had ear plugs. Beds are not very comfortable but w all the walking, had no trouble sleeping. Laundry mat across the street was a bonus as I did a load while I was there. Great location.

Our stay at Casa Santo Nome di Gesu was perfect for exploring Florence. The location of the Casa is in a quiet neighbourhood but in a short walk and you are amongst a great selection of restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the quiet garden and breakfast every morning.

A lovely, updated convent on the quiet side of the Arno, handy to everything. Rooms are recently updated/ renovated: large sparkling new bathroom, big bedroom with a simple layout and furniture (furniture probably from a self assembly place!); lovely staff; solid, decent breakfast, except maybe the weiners where sausages should be, unbelievable courtyard and garden.

This was a great historical property that was once owned by a prominent family. We stayed in the room advertised for a family of five. We had 5 comfortable twin beds and a large bathroom with a double sink. Air conditioner worked well and room was dark when needed to be. Lovely large garden in back and breakfast served was enough to get you started.

The property was a historical building that contained alot of history. Our room had charming period pieces and the ceiling was painted. We had 5 twin beds in our room which was perfect for our family. The mattress and bedding was very comfortable. I would have liked two pillows per bed but it was fine for one night with just one. The bathroom was very spacious and had two sinks. Front desk staff was very friendly and knew a little bit of English, which was helpful. He even shared his knowledge of the history of building. Breakfast was good. There were enough options to satisfy everyone and sustain us till lunch. I also really appreciated their service of securely storing our luggage for the day after check out while we enjoyed more site seeing before heading back to train station.

I booked 4 rooms based on what I read in the reviews so o want everyone to understand this looks nothing like the pictures. They put 4 of us in a room that smelled like it had just been exterminated and then denied using my chemicals in the room. My nose was bleeding for 3 days while there. I checked out of the room the following day and shacked up the family in the other 3 rooms, having to split my family up just to stay in the same hotel…. There weren’t ny other hotel that could accommodate the 8 of us. They would not refund my money for the 1 room we checked out of and told me to complain to Expedia so I will be doing that.

The property is right on a piazza and the windows are old school making it a little noisy at night and in the morning when the church bells ring. It was also a hefty walk from the train station over bumpy streets if you have luggage. Having said that the staff was super friendly, the breakfast was great and it was SUPER cool staying in a historic monastery.

A most beautiful building in an old convent. It’s on the quiet side of the river and surrounded by the best family run restaurants that were amazing. Also close to all the sites and shopping. While it may be rated only 2 stars for the lack of amenities it could be 5 star if it was staged right. Loved it!!!

Very much enjoyed my night at Casa Santo Nome di Gesu. It lies right in the piazza with the Cappella Brancacci and the Chiesa di Santa Maria del Carmine. It is a Franciscan property with proper bedrooms with ensuite baths. It is not the Four Seasons, so the rating is based on my expectation and enjoyment from what is provided by a religious house's offerings. It's a lovely old building (13th Century establishment) with a 24-hour reception and a very nice breakfast which was included. The walled garden is tranquil, but there is no bar on the premises, even though the Church does not frown on alcohol. A pleasure.

Pros: Very friendly and extremely helpful staff. The staff reserved taxis for us and helped us with our plans to visit Tuscany and packed us breakfast to go. Breakfast staff were very friendly also. Great Breakfast that satisfied everyone. Beautiful building, garden, history and location. We were able to walk to everything that we wanted to see in Florence.

Cons: Air conditioning barely worked and it was very hot in the room. We asked the front desk about it and they said that someone would come fix it, but they never fixed it. They did give us a fan which helped a little bit. The beds were very firm, so if you like that you will be happy. Our bathroom window would not close, so mosquitoes were in our room. The fan helped with that.

The first impression is excellent. They provide old style key, and when we ask if we can have breakfast to go because our tour starts at 8, and it was 20 minutes to station, they provide foods
The bathroom is very nice and clean. During our stay, there is an amateur boxing in the courtyard, so we enjoyed some entertainment.
The worst part is air conditioner. It is hot in summer, the AC can not produce any cold air, and fan is running in its last breath. I complained to host. He said I have room temperature set to 16 celsius, why was I complaining. The room temperature is well above 25, with high humidity. I told him the AC is not working, but he doesn’t care. I have to open the windows to cool off. With Italian sleep very late(well pass 1 or 2 pm), I have to close the windows.
The second night is same story. I finally fall to sleep after 2 AM, then woke up after 6
I never imaging AC played such role in our life
I will never ever stay it again

Recently stayed two nights at this unique property. We loved our stay and will definitely stay again. Our room was beautiful! It has unique antique furniture pieces, comfortable beds, and a recently updated bathroom with excellent lighting. We slept very well. It is in an overall quiet area. The staff was incredible! They were very friendly and had wonderful dinner and gelato recommendations. They really cared about you and your comfort during your stay. They even called and made us dinner reservations for an amazing restaurant at the end of the square. We loved the breakfast each morning. Good selection and delicious coffee from the fancy coffee machine. You have to cross the bridge to get into Florence as this is a residential area, but the walk was fine for us, but keep that in mind or take public transport if you have large luggage or troubles with walking distances. We walked to and from the train station, and it took us about 15 minutes. Getting into Florence near the Duomo took us 10-15 minutes. We wish we could have stayed longer. We loved Florence and the kindness and patience of the Italians we encountered.

We had a wonderful stay here. A beautiful building with helpful and welcoming staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and an excellent location. It’s just out of the hectic touristy centre but minutes walk from the key sites with lots of restaurants, bars and squares to explore right on the doorstep.

Very dirty and not good facilities for families and no AC or fans in the room and in the lobby and the breakfast area. The bathroom was very dirty and unpleasant to have a shower or use the toilet. The lift had no ventilation so no air to breathe while you travel in it.
There were very unpleasant odours in the whole hotel, they don’t spray anything to refresh the air. We parked in their secured car parking for €25 per but when we came to the car we found our car covered with birds poop and we had to clean the whole car. I’m not happy with it and it’s ruined my holiday mood and also we were very disappointed.

Wonderful 2-night stay in Florence! My family and I were all comfortable staying in the room with 5 beds. Lots of hot water in the shower! The reception staff were all very friendly and helped me to figure out the best ways to get to different points of interest - by taxi and by tram. Interesting old convent with gardens. Certainly a unique experience. Unfortunately the area around was noisy. I had the worst lodging experience of my life when an Italian rap/hip hop group set up In plaza outside my window and played for hours into the early morning. The staff would do nothing or change our room.

This was a unique place to stay as it is a former monastery with lots of the original features and very spacious. The painted ceiling in our room was amazing. Our bathroom was not en-suite but next door. It wasn't a problem at all and it was for our personal use only. Lots of little areas to sit inside and out. Staff very helpful with advice on local transport and places to visit etc.

Not a hotel!! Convent, perhaps.

Not at all what we expected. It looked like an old classic building in the listing that was quite grand however it was very sparce and more like a religious convent or missionary than a hotel. Very few facilities. Very hot no air conditioning, no television in room. Dated toilet and shower room that were apart.
Key had to be left at reception before leaving property as it was too heavy to carry around we were told! Strange rule.
It is quiet and creepy and the children were too scared to stay so we left shortly after arriving to find somewhere else to stay. We asked not to pay in full but were refused.
I would not recommend this place at all. Definitely not worth the money. The listing should reflect better that it is very bare and basic. Don't go there unless you want to pray in solitude!

My family enjoyed staying in a convent. It was off a peaceful street and the bilding itself was cool. The breakfast was a buffet and everyone could find something to eat. Cereal, croissants, bread, deli meats, sliced cheese, canned peaches, yogurt, and any kind of coffee. The only bummer was the heat. It was so hot we had to keep the windows open. And it was LOUD outside. I mean L-O-U-D. One night there was construction happening. Then there were the screaming young people. Had we been able to shut the windows, we could have dampened the noise. The staff were lovely and I'd go back in the Spring or Fall.

A beautiful historic building in the centre of Florence which has been converted to a hotel. Fantastic breakfast and helpful, friendly staff. Parking is available but be sure to let the hotel know in advance do they can reserve a spot. The car park entrance is also very narrow so don't arrive in a giant SUV or you may have problems. We managed with a Peugeot 3008. It's about 10 minutes walk to the ponte Vecchio and then straight into Florence Central.

Amazing stay hotel great staff were so accomodating.
Especially Guiliette we had information and great service from her.
This is the second time we have stayed here it's simple humble convent with beautiful furniture and splendid rooms.
Three garden is peaceful and fabulous after the hustle and bustle of Florence.
The local area is pleasant with good restaurants and shops.
Breakfast is humble cheese ham bread croissants jams etc but enough choice for most travelers and sets you up for the day.
If i had a wish list it would be for a fridge and coffee making facilities in the room.
The mosquitos were present but they live there so take precautions .The hotel put mosquito repellant in all rooms.
If i went again i would definitely stay there again.

This has to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a hotel. We decided to book this particular property as it states, incorrectly, that there is parking available. Only that they fail to mention that the hotel is inside a traffic controlled zone where one cannot enter freely nor is there any public parking available. If you are lucky enough to be able to park inside the courtyard you still cannot come and go as you please as there are restrictions getting into the hotel zone.
Another issue is that the rooms are really boiling hot and one tiny fan at the corner only makes it even more difficult to disperse the heat. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Nice very well located hotel. No AC

The hotel is like a museum. Our room had beautifyl painted walls.
Great location, close to main tourist attractions.
The only con: NO AC. We were ok sleeping with the windows opened. I do not know how people would do it in the summer
