Room was old and tired, stains on walls and furniture, drapes had holes , windows were dirty so you can’t enjoy the view, no coffee pot and when I asked for one they told me NO , even as my original booking said I had a tea and coffee pot , typical where hotels.com ( Expedia group ) and the hotel owners don’t really care about details all they care is about making money! They just point fingers at each other …. And do not make it right . I have pictures to show but I can upload them.

Ac needs updates sometimes it wouldn’t work at all. I am not sure if this is just Panamá but apparently hot water is a thing of the past at this hotel. I mean I want a hot shower when it is cold at night also you can never get enough towels but apparently here 10 is the limit. We found out when we asked for the 11th. In general a good stay. The staff was friendly until the 11th towel was requested. I would give it a 7/10.

I stayed at Principe Hotel and Suites in El Cangrejo, Panama City for 10 days in April and had a great experience. The location is perfect—close to banks, grocery stores, clothing shops, food spots, the subway, and there’s even a 24-hour convenience store right next door.

The rooms are excellent, with AC, blackout curtains, WiFi, TV, and daily housekeeping. There’s also a small pool, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The only downside was that the WiFi in our room sometimes dropped or lagged. Other than that, everything was great.

I highly recommend it and look forward to staying there again later this year.

Great location. Half a block there is a 24 hr family restaurant with excellent food at great prices. Lobby hosts a tour company which also rents cars. Cars can be dropped off at airport for a $. 25, which is 10.00 cheaper than a cab. Price wise I think they are pricier then similar properties around the area but if booked through hotels.com the price is were it should be.

Unfortunately, this stay was a huge disappointment. We visit Panama frequently to see family and friends and usually choose El Cangrejo as our favorite neighborhood. Hotel El Principe used to be one of our top choices, but after this experience, that is no longer the case.

The issues began at check-in, which was incredibly slow. However, the real problem started when we finally reached our assigned room: there were already people staying in it. While the staff moved us to another room quickly, it was an alarming breach of privacy and safety.

The 'cherry on top' was the complete lack of building security. After stopping at a nearby shop, we were followed directly into the hotel elevator by individuals who were clearly not guests. We then witnessed them meeting other patrons in the hallways for what appeared to be solicitation or short-term 'visits.'

It is very obvious that the hotel does not monitor who is entering the building or accessing guest floors. As regular travelers to the city, we felt quite unsafe. Between the room assignment error and the 'revolving door' for non-guests, we can no longer recommend this hotel.

Esta es una propiedad muy conveniente para nosotros por su ubicación .es un área segura tranquila donde tienes un mercado de conveniencia en los bajos del hotel por 24 horas y un restaurante muy bueno El prado en la esquina del hotel una estación de metro en vía Argentina y muchas cosas más tiene en los bajos un restaurante sushi muy bueno y frente un italiano
Hemos estado en habitaciones regulares y en la suite junior que es muy espaciosa y cómoda las camas con colchones y almohadas muy cómodas
No me gusta que quitan el aire acondicionado en los pasillos y se siente un olor desagradable además de calor
La relación precio calidad creo es muy buena
Regresaría siempre y lo recomendaría

We booked this hotel for one night because we landed at 4am and needed somewhere to sleep. I called days beforehand and asked if it was okay to book this room for the day before and check out the next day just so we had somewhere to sleep. Everyone at the front desk said yes. When we get there, the lady at the front desk tells us no and that we can’t check in. We are then forced to sleep on the couch in the lobby and wait for a manager to come. She was extremely rude and didn’t even try to help us out. 3 hours goes by she gets relieved and her coworker then tells us, our room has been ready and that she doesn’t understand why the First Lady didn’t let us up. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had and I’m thankful for the Second Lady we talked too but I would not stay here again.

Enjoyed my stay at Principe Hotel and Suites. The rooms were quite well maintained and clean. Daily cleaning kept the room fresh for our 8day stay. We had some minor issues that the staff was very quick to rectify. We stayed on the 5th floor and there was occasional street noise in the early morning and late night music from a nearby club but neither were unbearable. Air conditioning during the day was always super cold but somehow felt a little warm at night.

Overall, Principe will be my go to hotel in Panama.

I had a great stay at this property. The room was very clean and well maintained, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made a big difference in comfort. The staff was friendly, responsive, and always willing to help with anything we needed.

Overall, everything was smooth and easy, and the property delivered a very comfortable experience.

The hotel does feel a bit dated in some areas, and the internet in the rooms can be somewhat unstable, which could be improved.

I would definitely recommend this place to other travelers and would be happy to stay here again. Location is fantastic.

Clean, spacious room with a very comfortable bed. The staff was exceptional — they stored our luggage, let us rest in the lobby, and even gave us a room 6 hours early, which made our stay.
Great bathroom and shower. Fast WiFi. Perfect AC — coming back from the heat to a cool room was amazing. Completely quiet at night.
Facilities are a bit dated but still pleasant. Curtains aren’t blackout but block most light. No iron, bottled water, or toiletries provided.
Excellent location next to a supermarket and near the metro, with easy and affordable Uber access. Felt safe even at night.
Outstanding value for money — very affordable without feeling cheap at all.

The amenities could use some improvement, the pool in particular needed cleaning. The hardwood floors in the hallways made noise carry, so it could get a bit loud at times. That said, I would still stay here again.

I really enjoyed my stay. I went there on the 24th of march and left today, which is the 31st of march 2026. There restaurants where so near by and a food store next door the pool was good the rooms where very nice. The only thing was missing was having a microwave in the rooms other wise the rooms met my expectations.

The bedding was bad. I had four pillow on the bed and they were all lumpy. The work desk was old sticky and peeling laminate. No drain cap in the bathroom sink so I had to place a cup over the drain for fear of something crawling out. I found long blond and brunette hair everywhere including between the sheets. I was solo and am bald. Don’t stay in room 402 because it across the hall from the cleaning room. You hear buckets and carts rolling down the tile hall late at night and early morning. Not consistent but enough to annoy. Also, no fridge, coffee maker or microwave. Otherwise it’s a budget friendly place with no frills and close to all the action. A very walkable location.

Thank you for the nice stay. We’re looking forward to returning this weekend. This will be easy as our go-to place when traveling through Panama City for overnights. Thanks for a decent room at a reasonable price. Breakfast is not in the hotel but a 30 foot walk to next door. Just for those expecting that to be in the hotel, it’s only available next door and give yourself some time to get it as the service is a bit slower for hot meals.

This hotel was a nightmare. I arrived at Panama City from Ecuador at 8:30pm, but NO Shuttle was available as they advertised on Expedia, and even worse, there was no one to answer the phone at all.

I emailed, texted, and called the hotel right after I received the book confirmation from Expedia and the day BEFORE my arrival because it was my first time to visit Panama.

The property NEVER responded, so I had to call Expedia at the airport after my arrival. Long story short, Expedia could NOT reach them, either, and told me to take Taxi to get to the hotel almost midnight. I did not know whether there was anyone to check in at that time, so I had to request to cancel the booking and get refund.

I am very disappointed with Expedia's listing recently because I had a few unpleasant experiences with bookings on Expedia. I wish Expedia had a system to validate the listings and knew the properties' advertisement is honest.

Hotel in a very convenient location. On this occasion as the Queen rooms were not available we booked a junior suite which we thought would be one of the rooms with a kitchenette area however it was a rather strange room with a lounge area and a bath in the bathroom. There was supposed to be a coffee machine according to the booking but there wasn’t one - they provided one. Unfortunately the room was on the seventh floor and the WiFi does not work well on the area of that floor. In general the room and hotel were fine. AC TV etc worked well.

My girlfriend and I had a great 3-day stat at the Principe hotel in Feb 2026 for a phenomenal price. The hotel was very nice, quite and clean with large rooms. We actually got moved right away to a far larger room (for no charge) because the A/C in our first room was not working properly. The staff could not have been nicer. The location of the property in the nice and safe Congrejo neighborhood was great, with plenty of good restaurants steps away. In truth, the Principe was one of the best stays/deal I have ever had in my travels.

It’s my first time in Panama, I had fun. I have a couple of suggestions and feedbacks.
Upon arriving to my hotel, the two young ladies at the reception desk were amazing and even if I didn’t wanted to stay there, their radiant energy and smile would make me consider otherwise. The bell men were also Nice to us, one in particular Tall and brown (shoutout to you my good sir)
The room was good for my liking, however the bathroom toilet doesn’t flush so strongly, hot water was present in the shower and that was great. It would be nice if all rooms had a refrigerator or a microwave. However, I wasn’t phased too much due to the 24/7 supermarket next door, Great location. Internet, the WiFi from the room was not the best we had to be going in the lobby to use it, one of the young lady said she’d set up a router for faster speed, not sure if it was done but the gesture was kind.
Having to pay $20 for a visitor in a hotel that is NOT all inclusive was pretty NEW for me, but hey? We did it anyway. Housekeeper’s were very friendly!! Very. They would come daily to clean and that was amazing.
The pool area was relaxing. I think it closed off early and the pool chairs needed some cleaning.

They don’t let you check in even a minute before 3 o’clock. Their lobby looks like a flop house with people waiting to get into their rooms. I guess they think we don’t realize rooms get cleaned all morning not just at 3 o’clock. No Internet in the lobby. We finally get our room and the Internet is so bad it’s unusable. Call a half a dozen times and they just keep lying when they know their Internet is terrible. The next day I said if you can’t offer better Internet, then I’m leaving. Then they put me in another room that had better Internet. Told me to pack up the room is ready. I pack up and go down and they’re just starting to clean it and I have to stand in the hallway for a half an hour. I asked to speak to the manager nine times with an excuse every time. The staff will not let you speak to the manager to complain about the service. The lady the front desk should not be working with public right from the second we walked in. she was miserable and unruly. I’ve stayed here twice before and it’s never been a problem, I will never go back.
