This is a nice option for a quick stay in Florence - the hotel is near the train station and also just a few steps away from Lungarno. Unfortunately, there was construction right above our room that started at 9 AM, so we left earlier than we originally planned.

We loved the location close to the Arno River and the city center. Had a delicious pizza around the corner and there is also a small grocery store for last minute necessities and water! The staff was very kind, and the breakfast was delicious. They offer free luggage storage which was convenient. Within walking distance from the main train station. We loved our stay and will be back!

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and love the convenience of how close it was to everything. We walked to all the major attractions and great restaurants nearby. The service was amazing, we had an early morning tour and had to leave before breakfast. The front desk staff organized a packed breakfast and it was ready to go when we got there. We also love the disposable slippers they left in the room, nice touch. The only thing we didn’t like was we could hear kids running on the floor above, other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great breakfast too.

The room I had was definitely NOT the best room at this nice hotel but I needed a budget friendly option. The room opened to the outside and didn’t have AC. I had to leave early so didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast that was included. The bed was pretty hard but that’s common in Europe/Italy. But the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful!

On the plus side, it is close to the train station (10 minute walk), it's a relative modern hotel with staffed reception area, great breakfast, two elevators, room was basic but comfortable, large bathroom. My main complaint was that the A/C was NOT working, when I complained, I was told hotel was full, so I couldn't change room. Their solution was to send up a fan. Luckyly we went in early May so weather was still cool, our room was over looking the inside patio, we had to sleep with the window open, so we didn't have a noise issue. But a/c not working is unacceptable!
Major attraction were within walking distance (15-20) minutes, we are in mid 60's so took a rest halfway. We always sat at the Piazza di Santa Maria Novella which is a beautiful plaza! We has a couple of meals at the local pizzeria/Osteria MASO, a 2 minute walk, reasonable prices, good food, great service.

We were a party of 10 who needed a place to stay when our flight was canceled. The manager and his staff were far more accommodating than most hotels. IMMACULATE rooms, public areas and breakfast was perfect. We will definitely return our business to this freshly renovated property.

The staff were really great and the location was good but the windows are NOT sound proof. I woke up every single night from the noise and because of its central location, the streets outside are very loud. At one point I thought I had forgot to close my window since I could hear every conversation, when in fact, they were locked. Do NOT book if your a light sleeper since it will majorly affect your trip (I woke up late almost everyday because I had horrible sleep)

Hotel did not have our reservation when we checked in. Staff was helpful in finding the reservation under different name and reservation number. Day of check in staff were not friendly. Our room was old, outdated and dirty. Toilet seat was broken, towels had stains. Walls were in need of paint. My socks were black from walking on the floor. Pillows (only, 2) were flat and deflated. No conditioner in the shower, which was barely a trickle. Also the hotel is in a seedy part of Florence. Would not recommend this hotel.

Solid but noisy

The hotel itself was fine although noisy (both street noise and noise from other guests). The breakfast was solid and consistent with most 4 stars in Italy. The WiFi was very spotty and made it difficult to remain consistently online. It was also quite expensive, although that was likely due to the Pitti Uomo fashion experience that was going on at the same time in Firenze.

The pros:
The hotel is fairly central and I was able to walk everywhere.
Breakfast was decent.
The lighting in the bathroom was good and bright.

The cons:
Small room with a single hard bed (I can sleep on a hard bed so that isn’t a big deal).
The hotel and room could use updating.
I could hear a lot of noise in the hallway.
The cleaning staff were always forgetting the extra towels I requested and not leaving enough toilet paper.

Easy walk to all the tourist areas in the old town

Overall It was good. It includes breakfast with variety of food and dessert. Staff are polite and helpful. There's tea and coffee and pastries on the ground floor. Good location not far from the main train station and easy walking to the famous Duomo and other places in the old town. Room is clean. There is a small supermarket round the corner and a few cafes and restaurants. Highly recommended. Will stay again.

Small but spacious comes to mind. The room for one person is small compared to American hotels but is spacious for European standards. Big enough for a bed, a sofa, couch and chair. I was impressed with the cleanliness of everything. The bathroom was exceptionally clean. The hallway with the mirror was a nice touch. The room got pretty warm since it’s the top floor but I opened some windows and allowed a nice breeze to get the air moving. My only issue was with the wi-if that I kept having issues connect with /: but the big breakfast selection makes up for it!

Three night stay in Florence

We stayed here for three nights in one of the economy double bed rooms. It was at the back of the hotel on the third floor, so it was pretty quiet. There was a window that opened to a small alley behind the building, looking directly at the building behind, and a small window at the side that looked out towards the Duomo. The room was adequate, but nothing fancy. For what the room lacked, the location and fantastic breakfast buffet made up for. Every morning there was a breakfast buffet which included eggs, bacon, an assortment of cheeses, cold cuts, fruit, yogurt, pastries and cereals. Definitely something for everybody.

It was close to the train station, and bridges. The beds and pillows were hard as a rock, but we have been in tally for 2 1/2 weeks moving around, everywhere we stay the pillow/bed are hard. The staff was nice but our room was close to the reception and we could hear them laughing at 6am. The breakfast was fine.

Everything was great. But there needs to be screens on the windows because I got about 10 mosquito bites during my stay. It was warm in Florence and the hotel does not have a/c so I needed to leave the window open and paid a cost :-(

Terrible condition for a hotel that claims to be a four star one. I've stayed in dorm rooms that were bigger and better equipped. The amenities are dated, the furniture are old and worn out, and the breakfast was mediocre (in comparison to other four star hotels in Italy or even Florence like the NH Firenze)

Small, dark & 1 noisy night but close to train/bus

Room initially given was very small, including the bathroom, and outlook at rooftops from small window was rather dour. Lighting in room was poor.
We were moved the next day to a slightly larger room with a huge bathroom and a small window that looked onto a semi-private terrace. Lighting in room was poor.
Staff were helpful and provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and directions to public transit. Breakfast was good and the hotel's location was great for easy walking to train and bus stations.
Unfortunately, one of the 4 nights we stayed coincided with the day after 'market day' and the market, which was set up in street in front of hotel, created a ton of garbage. The garbage trucks arrived at 1:00 in the morning and took approx 45 minutes to clear all the garbage away. The noise was incredible and our room did not even face the street. So, until the City of Florence changes the garbage pick-up schedule I would highly recommend that travelers stay away from this hotel on the 3rd Sunday of the month (which is the day after 'market day') if they want to get a good night's sleep.

SMALL AND OVERPRICED!

It is so difficult to rate this hotel-- by American standards this would qualify as a nice motel, not even a hotel. The rooms were tiny and the bathroom was so small that when you sat on the toilet your knees were under the sink. But that being said, the breakfast was good, people were nice, and the location was FABULOUS! But for what it was I would say we paid about 4 times too much a night.

Well positioned between the station and the Arno

All the staff were friendly and helpful as well as being efficient. The public spaces were appropriate for the capacity of the hotel and the breakfast provided, buffet-style, was very good and varied. As the hotel is sited within the Ognissanti district it is about a 15 minute walk to the Duomo, the Central Market and the Pitti Palace but a 5min walk to the Train and the Bus stations. We found it quiet at night which was what we wanted and there were a number of good restaurants nearby.
We stayed for one week and visited Pisa, Lucca and Sienna as well as exploring Florence.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. Included breakfast is excellent with sausages, eggs, deli, cheeses, juices, pastries, bread, cereal, yogurt, tea coffee. Walking distance to all sites and to both bus and railway stations. Staff was very helpful.

Free Wi-Fi is not too bad. There was some intermittent disconnects. Speed was not too bad. We were able to Skype with family back home.

If you enter of exit railway station with luggage, use the station's front exit where the taxis and buses stop to avoid the stairs at the side exit. It is a little longer walk to/from the hotel but it is worth.

Our room was very small so was the bathroom.

We booked a triple room for 3 adults but were given a room which I consider to be only suitable for 2 adults and a small child.It was very small with 2 twin beds and a put up bed with cot sides.After much conversation with the hotel manager,he waived the city tax and gave us a free bottle of wine when we checked out.Needless to say I will not be booking this hotel again and will double check on booking in the future that we do indeed receive a spacious room with adequate beds.

The location is good, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was decent. Our room was a bit weird, sort of like a converted attic room on the top floor, with short-angled ceilings. The elevator made really loud sounds that echoed in the hall, and woke us up (you may want to ask for a different room). Be warned: the rooms do not have A/C (or at least ours didn't), so you may want to skip this hotel in the summer months....

The hotel is a 7 minute walk from the station, a 1 minute walk to the water, and about a 10-15 minute walk to the sites. Location-wise, we enjoyed this hotel because it was still close to everything but not right in the midst of the tourist chaos. We had a fast and courteous checkin that included a brief (but very helpful) overview of Florence with a map. We stayed in the hotel a total of 3 nights. The first night we stayed in a non-smoking room (2nd flr) that faced a quaint courtyard (trees etc). However, it was between the elevator and the stairs so we heard bumps and jostling throughout the night. The bed and pillows were also very hard. We asked to be moved the next morning but all that was available was a smoking room at the front (3rd Flr). We accepted it. It did not smell like a smoking room, the bed was more comfortable, the bathroom was slightly larger (although the toilet was absurdly close to the sink) and the street noise was no problem. Breakfast was the same everyday but I really appreciated the available options and scrambled eggs and fried meat. Great service in the dining room as well. Also note, there are two elevators in this hotel (convenient). The Internet went down while we were there but they fixed it quickly.

The rooms are small but doable. I had a single bed which was small, but worked for one. If traveling with another ask for double bed for sure. If from the states bring an ac adapter for 220-110. Street vendors do sell them but make sure you have one to charge phone. You will need your GPS smart phone to navigate the city. Hotel is close to a the city and a great restaurant Curtat one block down the street. Nice breakfast but save room for the local area dishes. Hotel is great value and close to all museums and transportation.

Bad start but staff made up for their mistake.

Staff at reception claimed they did not receive amendment to my booking which was confirmed by Hotel.com (I had made a mistake booking for a triple room with 3 single beds but stating only 2 adult occupants, but I made the amendment to 3 adults through Hotel.com the same day) So she gave us a double room and were going to make up the extra bed with a rollaway bed. When we got to the room, we saw that it was way too small to even get a rollaway bed in. So my husband approached the staff at reception again. This time she admitted that they had most likely made a mistake and she gave us an additional single room right adjacent to our double, at no extra cost. This made up for her poor initial response to my booking.

Rooms were very clean, bathroom was a good size and looked recently renovated.However, street noises and bells ringing from nearby church could be heard through closed windows in early morning as room was facing the street and on a low level. Breakfast was included in the rate and was a satisfactory American buffet breakfast.

Hotel is just outside the ZTL and very near the car rental street. Some lovely boutique shops along the street of the hotel.

Overall, a stay with some hits and misses.

if you booked a standard single bed room, you may ask for the rooms in the fourth floor. There are only two rooms in the fourth floor and both are single bed room. They are much bigger than other single bed rooms with sofa beds and spacious aisle. The hotel is very closed to train station and just 10-15 minutes by walking to main attractions. However, this hotel is a standard three-star hotel rather than four-star.

Nice hotel close to Novella station

Nice hotel near to station and close to all the major attractions. A couple of minutes walk to the river front. Hotel has well accommodating staff. They changed our room as doors of shower cubicle was not working. The new room had a balcony and it was on the second floor. Loved it.

Please try asking for a room on second floor or above and that too with a balcony. So as to have a nice bright room and that would have less noises from the traffic below.

Excellent View

Looking out from the window is relaxing. But quite a bit of noise in the early morning when the loading up of goods from boats to the deck (actually a passage way to the street). The place is very damp and wet. It is not that comfortable even with air conditioning switched on. But it is a little trade off to enjoy the view at your window. Nice experience for one night stay.

The staff and service were both very good. I was disappointed with the size of room and general maintenance and condition of the hotel room. For the amount of money I paid I wasn't happy with the return.

No Wireless in Room

I specifically booked this night because I needed wifi through the night in-room. Wifi was not functioning in-room, as advertised. Reception was very kind, but could offer no solution and it was not possible to cancel my stay.

Ventilation

In our first room which was quite small, the air conditioning was not working so we dealt with the first night by opening the window. Big problem was the mosquitos which attacked us - not a hotel problem per sey. They were very gracious and moved us to another room which was larger and the AC was fine. This hotel is a basic hotel with a good breakfast.

Amazing Choice!

This hotel was clean, centrally located to the train station in Florence and very welcoming. The staff was there to provide any/all services and they had a great personal touch (always leave nice notes and snacks for guests). The rooms were very spacious and very well maintained. I would absolutely stay here again!

Nice and decent hotel for the value of your money. Staff was very friendly and helpful, premises well kept but a little outdated. Not so close to important point of interest. Very good breakfast with variety and abundance.

Great hotel close to everything

The hotel is well situated only 10 min walk from the train station. The hotel is quiet, clean, has a nice restaurant and excellent staff. The included breakfast was very good.....cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, bread, pastries and even bacon and eggs if you are so inclined. By far the best part is the staff. They are charming and very helpful and will look after you very well.

Great location and amazing staff

We spend one day in Florence and this hotel is conveniently located close to the train station, as well as to the city's center. Short walk to main historic attractions and shopping area. Staff was extraordinary and very friendly. Hotel is nothing special, as it is an older building and our room was small, but yet consider one of the biggest rooms they have. Simple furnished, but it served its purpose for one night stay. Breakfast was not bad either. Per American standards was below the average and overpriced, however per European standards was worth the money! Would definitely recommend it and stay there again, as it is in the price range of the other hotels in same caliber.
