The staff was very nice and the room was large and very clean. We truly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast in the mornings was also very good. My only issue was that the shampoo provided was not very nice and there was no conditioner. I had to go out shopping for these, and as I was traveling, could not bring them with me.
I would ten out of ten stay there again. But I would bring my own products.

On day of departure we could not go to breakfast so they supplied a carry out \"box\". Great customer service.
Short walk to Firenze Santa Maria Novella station and downtown tourist sites. Close to trams and buses.

The location of this hotel is spot on. There is a great restaurant across the street, and one of the main squares is less than a minute away.
If you’re looking to spend a decent amount of time in the hotel, there are some things to consider.
The staircase in our room creaked anytime people walked around in surrounding rooms. The AC was turned off for the hotel because the hotel staff said it was going to be cold the next day. When we tried having our windows open, mosquitoes were coming in and we decided it wasn’t worth it after getting some bites and seeing our blood after squashing some of them. The breakfast included was very nice, and there were many options. The staff was always very kind and the laundry service was very good as well. Ultimately, the hotel was nice; however, there are probably better options.

Our room was spacious and clean with comfortable bed and pillows, housekeeping did a wonderful job. We enjoyed the breakfast, there's a good variety and the staff very attentive and polite. We also liked the roof top area where you can have a drink, or just sit to admire the panoramic views. Location of the hotel is excellent, just a few minutes walk from main train station and T2 tram stop from airport. You can easily walk to all the tourist attraction sites, and there are many restaurants nearby.

Great Hotel!

Create location near the train station, 24 hour desk, very friendly staff, rooms are very, very spacious. The breakfast buffet is one of the nicer ones that I’ve seen with lots of variety. I would happily stay here again; no questions asked.

This was an exceptional middle of the Price hotel. Staff was super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was exceptional, the room was very clean. They had a nice courtyard area to have a drink and a great rooftop restaurant with one of the most amazing views. The bathroom was small, but I’m seeing that is to be expected visiting Italy. The location was perfect for us, 10 minute walk to the main train station, which will take you everywhere.

Overall, this is a very good hotel and I would probably stay here again. The room was large (for Europe), the beds were super comfy, the AC worked well, and the included breakfast was very tasty with a good selection. I have mixed feelings about the location. Walking from the train station to the hotel using the Google preferred route, we thought it was rather sketchy, even in the middle of the day. For two of the three nights noise from the street from party goers and homeless people kept me awake. One night it went on fairly steady until 4:30 AM. Bring ear plugs! When we walked to the train station using a different route it was much more open and clean and enjoyable. The hotel is close to the main downtown area and museums making everything very walkable. You may want to ask for an interior room though to avoid the street noise.

A couple of small issues we had with our room was that the toilet would run for 10 to 20 minutes after flushing. Not a major problem, just a noisy distraction. The shower had a good, steady hot water supply, but it was hard not to get the floor wet as the glass enclosure on the tub seemed shorter than normal. They also didn't supply any lotions. The hotel had pretty good tech, but could use a proper night table beside (and between) the twin beds (they have a chair beside the bed which is much less useful).

Seven-minute walk from the main train station, and within walking distance to several major tourist attractions in Florence, the location of this property is ideal. Front desk staff always greet you with smile. Room we had is loft style. While comfortable, the decor and finish are fairly basic. Outdoor pool is not heated so it might not be suitable to swim in when outdoor temperature dips. Maintenance around the pool area is poor with dirty (some even broken)lounge chairs.

Breakfast on the other hand is impressive, even comparable to some of the 5 star hotels we stayed.

Enjoyed our stay in general. Wish the maintenance of public areas such as pool and the rooftop terrace could be kept up.

Loved everything about the beautiful Croce di Malta. My room with a balcony was exceptonal with a beautiful outlook. Hotel staff without exception were helpful, friendly and professional. They went out of their way to find me a room for one night that I was unable to book online, meaning I didn't have to move. Tje rooftop bar had a stunning view over Florence & the pool was lovely to return to after a day of sightseeing & walking. I would most definitely stay at the Croce di Malta again. H

Beautiful hotel not for kids

Beautiful hotel. Very close to the Florence train station. It was advertised as family friendly but I definitely don’t think they welcome children. We spent one day at the pool and it was very uncomfortable because of the other guests who kept giving us dirty looks. Not sure if they have never seen Hispanic people but if it wasn’t for that I would give them 5 stars. The staff was very kind the other guests not so much.

Excellent hotel in perfect location

Lovely hotel situated in a perfect position to explore Florence on foot. Hotel staff were fantastic, all were very helpful and welcoming. The pool is excellent and with the high temperatures in Florence during our visit, was great for spending an afternoon relaxing in. My only negative was that the air conditioning was not as cold as I would have liked and expected. This was definitely the case in our room but also throughout the hotel.

Excellent hotel right in the centre and within easy reach of everything you could possibly want. Superb room with 2 bathrooms!!!!! Unheard of.

Gorgeous staff on reception and at breakfast.

Pool does sit in the shade so is cold but that didn’t bother the kids.

Look no further...book your Florence adventure with a room at Croce Di Malta!
Centrally located to the Duomo [~3-4 blocks...be sure to check it out at night from the roof top bar! ], easy walk to most other museums/sites/restaurants, you can even walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station!

Everything about the hotel was clean and well maintained. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed with a good bathroom. The breakfast had a wide choice, was excellent and the staff worked extremely hard. Being just a short walk from the bus and tram station made it easy to get to from the airport, but then everywhere we wanted to visit was also an easy walk. Just a perfect location to visit Florence.

I was placed in a room directly across from major construction in 3+ rooms on the 3rd floor. Check-in is 2pm and construction went past 5pm. Neither Hotels.com nor the hotel mentioned the major construction. Not only the sounds (8am-5pm) but the smell of plaster and dust was harmful to my health. The front desk was somewhat rude when I asked for a new room. The hotel offered me a drink for having to change room. Disappointing

Delightful Hotel, Helpful Staff

A delightful hotel with very helpful and friendly reception staff. Buffet breakfast was included in the tariff and was delicious.
Large room, stylish, minimalist furnishing, a door opening to a small, high walled “smoker’s balcony”, sky view only. Bed was comfortable. Supplied with two baggage stands, a rare bonus, frig, a kettle, glasses but only cardboard cups for hot drinks. Supplies were not replenished without request.
There is plenty of room to accommodate a small table and upright chairs which would have increased our comfort without spoiling the uncluttered ambience.
There is a step up to the small bathroom which has a small walk-in shower without grab bar. There is no vanity bench space or storage, just a basin with a stool underneath that could hold a few toiletries. Liquid soap but no shampoo or conditioner provided. Wall mounted hair dryer not working but housekeeping obliged with a hand held one.
The hotel is close to Santa Maria Novella and we found it easy to walk to the popular tourist sites. We enjoyed two excellent dinners at the very popular with Florentines and tourists, Osteria dei Centopoveri, entry on Via Porcellana one block away from the hotel

My 5 night stay at Croce Di Malta was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful, the public spaces were clean and inviting. I was fortunate to get a balcony room with a wonderful view and also spacious, well-kept with comfortable beds. The breakfast was great with multiple types of coffee and other drinks, and quality hot and cold food selections. I'd stay again if in Florence and recommend highly. It's also near the train station and lots of restaurants in short walking distance.

Less Than Desirable

The location is great, more central in Florence, and the staff very friendly, but the condition of our room was less than desirable.

The room, while big (2 floors), is dated. The staircase shakes a little bit and is slightly unnerving.

We had constant issues with mosquitos (and we did not even open the window). We were constantly getting bit and must've killed a dozen or more mosquitos during our 2 night stay. You can even see on the walls were past guests have killed mosquitos (blood splatters). This made sleeping and getting a good nights rest nearly impossible.

The bathroom, particularly the shower is terrible. And given where the showered head is positioned, water will get all over the floor. Unlike Asia which has a lot of wet bathrooms, which include a drain in the floor for water to drain, this hotel bathroom does not. So the water will just pool on the floor and you're either forced to just let the water sit there (which you can slip, or get wet feet while using the bathroom), or you have to dry the floor with your towel after every shower. We're not paying money to stay at a hotel to clean the bathroom floor for the hotel.

I would not recommend anyone stay here (at least our room) but either 1) pay more money for a nicer hotel, or 2) stay in a more modern/updated hotel.

Our room was tiny had no real window to the outside, it was an enclosed space with a tiny opening in the ceiling.
The bed was somewhat lumpy and tilted to the side.

The location was excellent and so was the breakfast. The property is old and has a very strong strange smell in the room. The management has asked the staff to only turn air conditioning when specifically requested. I did on the day I checked it but they turned it off a few days later and that made the smell worse. The staff was trying to assist but they had no other rooms available.

We loved the breakfast buffet and the walkability to all of the shops and restaurants. The pool and garden area was lovely. The rooms are very small. The staff was amazing! We loved the staff at breakfast! The nicest people ever. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Cleaning service was great. Our only issue was there weren’t any restaurants on sight for lunch or dinner but we ventured out. The bar was open all afternoon and night until 10. Roof deck is fabulous. Grab euro hair styling tools because mine didn’t work with the adapter. The hotel had hair dryers but only doable if you have fine short hair. Bathrooms were tiny. The air conditioning was excellent.

A lovely property, conveniently located close to the Santa Maria Novella train station. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating, and the breakfast is very good. The pool is nice and great for cooling off after a long day of sightseeing. The rooftop bar has a lovely view of the Duomo and the city of Florence. Croce di Malta Hotel is a 5 star resort in Florence.
The service staff were absolutely excellent from the desk, the servers and other support staff.

It was conveniently located to all the restaurants, train station and Duomo.

The room. 326 was huge. The bathroom was clean the bed (queen) was very comfortable.

The Pool area was great for the summer months. The pool was refreshing, lots of chairs and service was excellent.

The only downside of this Hotel is the air conditioning.
I was in Room 325 and it would not drop below 28/29 degrees Celsius. I approached the front desk and they informed me they had control of the AC. They adjusted it for me to be colder. It was set for 11 degrees. Room was 29.
The AC produced cool air but it had no fan to push the air into the room. It was extremely disappointing to such an incredible hotel.

Cons: Air conditioning is warm, all we did was sweat, most staff are not very nice. The first night they told us the AC was broken. Now it’s supposedly fixed but it’s just as hot as when it was broken. We talked to the front desk several times and were given fans. Manager was supposed to contact us but no one has. Also when we checked in we asked about laundry and they said we bring it down in the morning, and they bring it to us cleaned at night. The first morning we were here we brought it down and they told us it’s closed on weekends. Why wouldn’t they tell us this when we asked about it the day prior? There’s no security and anyone can walk in the hotel and go up the elevator to the rooms. The furnishings are all dated. There’s no way to take a shower without getting water all over the bathroom. There’s drink service by the pool, but in our three days here we were only asked if we wanted something once. No one comes around and the few times we asked as they walked by we were shouted at to wait and sometimes they’d come back 20 mins later and sometimes not at all. We stayed here for the pool since it’s hard to find in the city. The rates are quite expensive considering all the cons.

We arrived at 22:00 to a room located on the fifth floor (the elevator only reaches the fourth floor) with a broken air conditioner. It was a particularly hot day. It turned out that there was no phone in the room (!) so I had to go down to reception again. The girl at the reception offered me a fan instead and after I insisted agreed to give us another room. The new room's sink in was cracked, but the air conditioner worked.

Great staff. Amazing breakfast and coffee, included in the room fee. business center, pool area for sitting and enjoying breakfast. Located in the center of Florence, everything is within walking distance. There is even a museum of modern art a few steps from the hotel

Property was so old rooms were so small bathrooms were awfully small and incomvinent I would not go back specially for the price people can find much better place z staff were great .

Staff at the property is good an helpful. Location is good walkable to all key attractions. Also, Train Station is walkable for day trips to other towns in Tuscany. Hotel
lobby , garden and roof top are nice. Rooms are bit dated and need updating.

The staff was awesome! Even though we only had one night here, we took full advantage of the amenities, and they did not disappoint. The sunset on the rooftop with an Aperol spritz and a view of the entire city was the highlight! The pool in the garden and the breakfast in the morning was perfect too.

Great hotel in an awesome location. Was able to walk to most places I wanted to go to from the hotel within 15 mins. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and well kept. Was authentic but modern. Would highly recommend for future guests.

Nice room. We ended up with a balcony which was a lovely surprise. Very clean bathroom. Good hot water for a shower/good hairdryer etc.
Comfy bed. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff.
Rooftop bar was a nice touch. We didn’t use the pool but the option was there, and towels offered.
Quite expensive but it is in a really good spot in Florence, very close to the train station and main attractions. Enjoyable stay.

Walking into hotel was superb, decor, ambience was great, unfortunately the room let it down in places, black marks on walls where luggage had previously been on stand, and by the dressing table. There was a step up to the bathroom which did not have a sign, which is quite dangerous. Also we had a balcony, that we were looking forward to sitting out to enjoy, however as we were on the 2nd floor, we were directly opposite a building that had 24/7 men sitting on the verandah (this was not part of the hotel), we did not feel comfortable having the curtains open as there was no privacy into the room, they could see straight in. Trying to enjoy a coffee on the balcony was uncomfortable.

The staff were friendly but definitely not a 4 star hotel. Has potential but needs to be updated. The rooms were by far not 4 start rating and although it’s was cool outside, apparently the air conditioning was not working throughout the hotel. We stayed two nights without A/C. Extremely inconvenient considering the amount paid per night.

Five minute walk from the train station. Very nice spacious room.
Excellent shower. Spectacular rooftop terrace. 360° views. Spectacular spectacular photo.
Backdrop of the doma. Great Is breakfast buffet. Staff was knowledgeable And very helpful.
With all the questions we asked. Highly recommended. Third, trip to Florence was a charm.
